Laviticus watched as as the other Nightmares swung back and forth on the swings, pumping their tiny little legs, getting pushed by their caretakers. Lavi caught himself clutching Charmstar's hand a little more tightly. Why was he nervous about riding the swings for the first time? Was it because he couldn't catch himself if he fell? But Charmstar would be there if he needed him, and that brought Laviticus a small comfort.

"I'm a little nervous," he admitted quietly, turning to his friend. "Is that ... bad? Should I be nervous?"

Blinking suddenly, Laviticus turned to his friend and shook his head. "No, no ... of course I want to go on the swings! I would have let you drag me over here if it wasn't something I wanted to do ... " The hybrid offered a small, polite smile. "I just ... I don't have wings. I've never been off the ground before, so I'm a little nervous about my feet not being firmly planted. But ... I trust you. Though I'm a little worried with this momentum I might bowl you over when you try and push me ... let me know if I'm too hard to push?"

Lavi gave his hand a little squeeze, then lifted his head when he noticed one of the swings was now unoccupied, a dark teal geist girl wandering away from the swing, leaving it behind as something else caught her fancy.

"Come~!" he said in a happy, but quiet voice. "Let's go and try and have some fun! Don't worry about me ... I'll be alright."

Guiding him by the hand, Lavi lead Charmstar carefully to the vacant seat dangling from the chains, mindful of the pumping legs kicking and flailing their legs, depending on how graceful they were.

With a deep, steady breath inward, Laviticus released Charmstar's hand and gripped one of the chains, feeling the cool metal, filthy from all the other hands that had previously tangled around it. "Well ... here it goes! Ready~?'

Laviticus took in as deep of a breath as he could, nodding his head and gripping the chains of the swing suddenly very tightly. The Fallen's comment had distracted Lavi just enough to soothe the edge of his nerves, and his heart settled in his chest, his face a little more determined and more confident than it had been but a moment ago.

"I trust you." he said, feeling a new sense of calm, reading to pump his tiny little hybrid legs as he dangled from his seat, suspended off the ground, waiting for the first push.

This was new and exciting, and while the process hadn't started yet, Laviticus knew he was going to love it. This was his first friend. His first time on the swing. It was a day of many firsts, and it brought to Laviticus a new sense of wonder and amazement. What else was there to explore in life? And what new sensation would each new adventure bring him? Lavi was excited to find out all that he could about the world and its offerings, and having Charmstar by his side made him feel more secure to pursue such endeavors.

It was amazing, really, how much one person could suddenly impact and change the entire course of your life ... the impact that connections can have. It left Laviticus feeling rather thrilled as he waited for Charmstar's first push against his back.

Hearing Lavi's declaration of trust, Charmstar felt his heart skip a beat and a warmth spread across his chest. It felt nice and it also gave him a heady thrill at the sound of it. He pressed his hands gently but firmly against the other freshling's back, leaned in close to softly say, "Hewe goes~"

The push was strong, not too strong to dislodge Lavi from his seat obviously, but enough to give the swing its needed momentum to move forward. Already the fallen was stepping back, arms braced so he could make another push just as Lavi returned from the back-swing.

"Lemme know if you wanna slow down," Charmstar said, grinning from ear to ear as he watched his new friend on the swing for the first time.

Charmstar beamed, absolutely pleased that Lavi was enjoying himself even with the soft setting. And the smile on his face widened when his new friend asked him to push harder. "Okie dokie!" he said, the muscles in his arms bunching up to exert more force on the next push.

Stronger than the first, but still not too strong, Charmstar was using the method his own caretaker had used on his first time on the swings. The force gradually grew, not too immediate to be jarring but Lavi should notice the gap between his feet and the ground would grow more and more with each turn.

Charmstar's brows knitted in concern, did he perhaps overdo it? He thought he was doing a good job slowly ramping up the speed, but then again, not all non-flyers might take to heights. "Okay~" he said, sounding worried all the same.

Instead of pushing, when Lavi swung back, Charmstar grabbed hold of the chains and dragged himself with it as it swung forward. The added weight and the counter balance slowly pulled it to a halt, even if it was a little bumpy.

"You sure you're okay?" the fallen asked, leaning in close so he could get a good look at Lavi's face. He may have also tried to hold Lavi's hand to check for clamminess but then again his new friend was a hybrid. How could he tell what was clammy or normal? (Or maybe it was just an excuse to hold his friend's hand. There was that too.)

As much as Charmstar wanted his turn on the swings, it wouldn't do to force his friend. Not after hearing all that. "Suwe~ a bweak sounds good. Lunch is even bettew!" he declared brightly, trying to give their mood some levity. "I gotta go back to my cawetaker now, but maybe we can see each othew again! At the Academy or hewe at the swings again."

He gave the other freshling a quick hug before toddling off to where his caretaker was waiting expectantly. As the fallen took the older nightmare's hand, he turned round and gave Lavi one more wave.
