Coco, shuffled her feet nervously. She wasn't comfortable at all with this class, and the teacher asked a tough question. Coco really didn't want to sound like a fool. She sniffled a little wishing Milo was with her, or that she was anywhere but here. Mostly she wanted to be in the common room painting. She cleared her throated and answered "I guess Princess Elena, she seems like she was really special, I wish she would come back.. I don't like that she was taken away. It makes me sad.." Coco then waited for the teacher to tell her, her feelings were silly or that the princess has been killed and would never return or something like that.

After listening to Coco, Tethys tilted his head slightly. The freshling had missed some important information, though he didn't really want to embarrass her in front of the others. Ah well... "Actually, Coco, she did return." He nodded, keeping his tone pleasantly soft. "She lived out the rest of her life here in Below, and helped us recover from the aftermath of the war. She was a very brave woman." Hopefully that would quell the poor thing's feelings. Sadly she had passed away, but the war had been so long ago and demons only live so long...

Gaius was daydreaming, like usual, sort of checking out from what was going on in the classroom. But eventually his wandering mind made it back to the discussion at hand. Favorite historical figures...? Gaius didn't know many, honestly... he hadn't paid much attention in that department of his studies, but... after some quiet mulling, and listening to his classmates go around the class room and voice their favorites, he decided on one that he could recall that popped into his head.

As his turn came, he piped up casually, with that gentle smile on his face, "Saint Mariel the Bountiful. I think it was really cool of them to help out their kind when things were bad.. I think that's really awesome. "

Tethys’s question had been one that had been on her mind for a while. “It’s exciting and scary at the same time.” She calmly replied. “It would be nice to be able to learn more about shared pasts and histories that daydreams and nightmares have, but all the same it opens up the doorway to old wounds and some unpleasant secrets that might exist. It also allows for both cultural understanding as well as cultural conflict.” She spread her hands just a bit apart and laced her fingers together while talking. “The mingling of different ideas and ways of life is bound to bring forward more than a little bit of friction as well as tension and fear. If everyone works together they might learn to overcome it and grow more as a society as a whole. It will still take a lot of time and effort though.” She dropped her hands back down to her desk while she thought for a moment. “Trade and commerce as well as travel are going to go up creating new markets as well as new venues for arts and skills that aren’t currently available here but that also means more competition as it is taken to a new high of mixing cultures.” While it was already clear what her interests where since she mentioned nothing about exposure to new pathogens and virgin soil epidemics which she was sure her teacher would have found to be a good answer she couldn’t help but be interested in and think about her passions first and foremost. “I want to see what kinds of art and poetry that will be born of the mix of the two cultures. That’s what is the most exciting prospect to me.”

　 Traveling! Caper didn't do a lot of that yet, though sometimes while he was at school he knew Evan went places. She always came back just in time to take him home at the end of the day. Before he knew it, it was his turn to present in class.

"I choose ah, Cassiel's Watch!" the Giest beamed eagerly. As soon as he had heard who lived there, it had excited him greatly for he had a friend with wings who could live there someday too! "The Fallen live there. I choose it because it's really, really far from where we are right now." He dragged his knuckle over his lower lip. "And, uhm. It's really close to where the other Geist live. Because of that, I think they could be friends." Okay, he was getting a little off topic but it was true! Cassiel's Watch was just a little bit North of the swatch of Geist territories. "A lot of really old Fallen are in charge of Cassiel's watch. And Fallen can get really old."

Caper smiled, looking rather accomplished. He slid back into his seat, eager to hear from his peers.

Ellis was fairly upbeat today, considering that Amory didn't appear to be trying to make his life miserable. They were sharing a textbook, the older Nightmare helping him to pronounce the names of the cities he couldn't read. When it was his turn to reply, the imp grinned brightly and gave his answer quickly.

"I like Shellmount a lot! I never been there but it sounds so cool! They got fish an' zep'lins an' it's fulla imps like me!" He glanced at the map again, trying to come up with something to add.

"It's on the left side... near the water! Yeah, 'cause of the fish!"

Crispin’s ears perked some when he entered his next class. This one seemed to be about maps, something he thought was pretty interesting. While they didn’t make much sense to him, he liked seeing a visual representation of the world at large. Drumming his claws thoughtfully on the table he smiled as he listened to the instructor. Leaning over the table he was sitting in, his pale blue eyes traveled to the textbook he’d been told to look in. His claws slid against the book, carefully opening it and flipping to the right page.

He dragged a digit over the book as he pursed his lips. He noted that they were in Asphodel Fields. There were so many places on here he’d never even been to. Frowning, Crispin silently read a few of the bigger words to himself. “Um. How about Woodholm? I bet it would have a lot of trees based on the name.” He grinned then at the thought.

“I like forests, and lots of trees so I think it would be nice to visit a place that’s a busy trading place, and maybe is surrounded by nature.” He explained, clearly unsure if that was really what the place was all about. It didn’t stop him from using his imagination.

Satisfied, he began reading over a few of the other places of interest on the map to familiarize himself with the world of Below.

As soon as he heard that Tethys wanted them to partner up, Malachi had turned to ask Hailey, but she had already moved her desk right next to him. Not that it should have surprised him, knowing her, but man that was fast! Laughing he went to say something, but then he noticed she was ready to blurt out whatever it was, so he just quickly grabbed up his pencil.

It wasn't any surprise as she began to spout out things about fashion. As not to miss out on her important details, he wrote as quickly as he could while she started. She says that current Nightmare fashion is pretty awesome! Plaid and skulls and punky things are a totally big deal. Both she and her Big Sister from the Big Sibling program wear plaid a lot. And then the possible impact of Daydream fashion on the Below. She wonders if they have a lot of big differences or if they have similar tastes to ours. She said she hadn't really seen any Daydreams yet, so she's completely starry-eyed over the ideas of what their clothing style might be like.

And as she kept going, he scribbled down notes about how long hair is 'totally in', but left out the part where she said she was glad he didn't cut his hair. After a few more minutes she had slowed to a stop and let him finish his notes. Yay! It was finally his turn! He started to talk about this newer monster card game and got one of those looks from her. After she gave a laugh, he blushed and scratched his cheek lightly then began to continue talking about the game.

When they were done and she had moved her chair back over, Malachi stood up, his paper in hand. His hand reached out for hers, and she was more than happy to pass hers along and not get up to turn it in herself. He took the papers up to Tethys' desk and left them in the turn in tray then headed back to his seat.
