Ding dong diiing.

Classes had ended for the day, thank goodness. Rajna was exhausted. She had been up late the previous night, distracted by the newest, hottest PC game. As a child Rajna had been so odd, and her social awkwardness had led her towards a world of online gaming. She had become so invested in her online communities, and with all the different time zones in the worlds she rarely every got any sleep. If she was lucky, she'd get five hours a night. But more often than not she only received an hour or two, and the poor girl was running out of steam.

Her grades were dropping. Her teachers were concerned. But Rajna believed you only lived once, and you shouldn't live your life with regrets. She was doing what made her happiest at the time being. When that changed, perhaps she'd take a second glance at her grades again and think more of them, but for now, they were of little concern to her.

Tail swinging happily from side to side, Rajna made her way down the halls of the school rocking out to her ore headphones, singing along as the students and teachers finished off their days, tossing things in lockers, checking in with fellow co-workers ... whatever it was they needed to do to tie off the end of the day.

Rajna was eager to rejoin her friends. It was what she looked forward to most days. She often was caught in class trying to stealth play her games on her laptop, and often scolded by teachers. It was hard being away from her friends and from what she really loved to do, but she supposed such was life!

Arden had grown pleased with himself, his studies going better than they had only a few months ago. Reflecting on it now, Arden figured he had simply grown tired of school, but now he was starting to wrap up his long list of classes needed for graduation. It was still a decent ways off but the anticipation was enough to put a new pep in his step. He had been focusing so much more on his magic lately, and he felt that as soon as he hit the University he could begin following in his mother's footsteps to become a proper healer.

The Chimera turned the corner tight, frayed wings tucked close to his body as he tried to minimize the amount of space he took up in the hall. He was on a mission back to his dorm, his textbooks from his last class still under arm. The subjects they had started today intrigued him, and in his usual fashion, Arden was too impatient to finish. Did it sometimes make class boring to read ahead? Yes, but he sort of liked the satisfaction of finishing something more. Yeah, he could pass it up sometimes, but they hadn't even stopped in a good spot. Even just a few more bullet points in and maybe he would have been satisfied.

Arden was rolling through his lessons of the day in his head, double checking he had a firm grasp. He rounded the next corner towards the dormitories and immediately had to side step to avoid a figure. Arden clipped her with his elbow just the slightest, and he immediately spun around, reaching out on instinct to touch her arm ever the slightest. "I'm sorry," he apologized immediately, ears shifting as he tried to balance his books with only one arm.

The Chimera paused, getting a good look of the Junior before him. She did look the slightest familiar, and he settled on repeating himself awkwardly, pressing his back against the row of lockers. "Sorry," Arden murmured. "I - sorry, we've met before," he explained his stalling, putting on a gentle smile. "I uh, can't remember where. So this is just now weird," Arden muttered, suddenly looking away as he cleared his throat. Seriously. There were so few Chimeras in the school, and yet he couldn't place where he knew this girl from. She was younger than him, so it was unlikely they had a class together.

Rajna had felt the bump before seeing the person. She had been so absorbed in her tunes that she kinda forgot the rest of the world had even existed. Luckily, the bump wasn't too forceful, and so Rajna had been about to carry on her merry little way and ignore the occurrence, chalking it all up a student unaware of their surroundings much like her, but the instant a hand touched her arm Rajna froze, entire body going rigid.

Lifting her clawed hands Rajna slid her headphones down around her neck and glanced over her shoulder, blue eyes meeting a similar shade as she stared up in to the eyes of the man who apparently bumped in to her. Rajna had only caught the second half of his apology, and the girl chimera gave a small smile, not really bothered by the whole ordeal.

"It's alright." she said reassuringly. "I'm sure you didn't mean ... " Rajna's words trailed off as she listened to the boy say they had met before. Had they? Rajna couldn't remember. She was a bit of an air head, or rather ... more focused on the intangible and her online friends than she was concerned with the real world. If she had met him before, chances were Rajna wasn't particularly interested enough to remember him.

"I think it's my turn to apologize ... I'm sorry, but I don't remember you at all." Rajna admitted. "I don't get out of my dorm much, save for ... well, classes. So unless you know me from online and have seen my pictures in my icons, then ... I doubt we actually know one another. Sorry."

He tilted his head to the side, immediately almost a bit perplexed by her words. His wings folded closer to his back, the awkwardness that was radiating through his nerves making him want to curl up and die. Yeah, he should have totally kept moving. This was very quickly becoming a train wreck. "No, it wasn't that," Arden laughed a bit dryly, still trying his best to balance his stack of books on his hips. "Can't say I spend much time online other than to study." The brunette shook his head the slightest, trying to clear the topic. Maybe he had been mistaken. Maybe not. Now all he was doing was telling her how much of a stick in the mud he was.

"I don't even remember your name, so," the Chimera laughed a bit awkwardly, offering her his hand with his claws curled in just the slightest so he wouldn't accidentally stab her. Trying to relax, his marred wings unfurled the slightest, just enough that he wasn't taking up any more space in the hallway than what his tail already was. "How about this," he offered, flashing a nervous but otherwise friendly smile, "I'm Arden. It's nice to meet you, sorry for jabbing you again."

He took a small step back, hand still offered to her if she felt comfortable taking it. "Not a lot of Chimera around here, so I at least like to attempt to know them all," Arden offered in the smoothest voice he could manage, still trying to choke down his anxieties. He could fix this situation, totally.
