Class Activity SENIOR:Spell Mimic "Mimicking spells can... throw off your opponent... Especially if they cast something dangerous. Even if you don't know how to cast the spell they've used, its possible to use illusions to make them...think you know how. Spell Mimic is a simple but effective way to appear more intimidating - or knowledgeable - than you actually are."
Rules Fill out the form below completely - be sure to include the prompt! Once you have posted your reply you may consider this class "complete" This class may grant you perks in the Battle Arena! Do not quote nepsah when you post!
Username: Nightmare/Daydream: Prompt:
Tethys has tasked the class with mastering "Spell Mimic." In order to do so, he's set up the class in groups of two or three. One student will cast any spell they know, the other must mimic it. Spell Mimic uses the Casting method, so your student must be able to remember how to properly Cast the spell- this may be done verbally, or with a specific motion that Tethys has gone over with the class.
Write a 250 word minimum response from the perspective of your student's experience with the assignment. You do not have to actually team up with another person to do this - feel free to use NPCs.
NOTE: Roll 1 d100, if you roll 45 or above, you may add the spell "Spell Mimic" to your student's personal spell book! If you do not roll, it is assumed that your student did not learn the spell (they still pass the class). You may reroll until you learn the spell, but each roll must contain a roleplay response. Only the success roll must be 250 words.
Student Name: Meris Optical Illusion: Meris confused himself some times. He could get up in front of an Auditorium full of people and sing or perform but he had a problem getting up in front of a class and presenting. It should have been no problem after all he had the assignment. He had mostly what he was going to say… However he was close to being a nervous wreck. He had mentioned he had a problem with presentations right? So of course the day came and Meris took a deep breath and walked up in front of the class showing off the optical illusion he had found and explaining it to the class. Luckily he caught himself the two times he started to fade, hopefully before anyone in the class noticed. As soon as he finished he calmly, but quickly, walked over to his desk to take a seat and watch the next presenter. Ugh that was fine right?

Student Name: Morin Optical Illusion: Morin loved researching magic and performing magic when he had the chance and time to. There was just something about studying it that drew him in so of course it was understandable that he would use the last of his electives to take as many magic classes as he could. The only problem was the presenting. Morin wasnt as bad as his little brother when it came to people, but he knew he did have problems talking in front of others. However an assignement was an assignment no matter how much Morin might dislike some aspects so he prepared his presentation and assignment as best he could. Standing up in front of the class he showed off the illusion pointed out the aspects that he had to, although he did notice that he sped up a bit when he was handing out the conversation. Something that tended to happen when he was So of course the day came and Meris took a deep breath and walked up in front of the class showing off the optical illusion he had found and explaining it to the class. Finishing up the presentation he calmly walked over to his desk ande waited to see what the other students had brought.

Eileen tried to focus but couldn't quite grasp the hang of it, no matter how many times she tried. It seemed harder said than done. She rubbed her eyes and looked up at her teacher.
"Mr. Tethys, I might need some more practice." she said, with a small frown.

After many tries, Eileen finally got her eyes to change into a deep gold color. It took awhile for it to change completely but at least she did it. She felt so happy with herself and she couldn't wait for another assignment like this one.

It took Aten some trying, but finally he managed to get his eyes to change colour. The colour wasn't perfect -- you could still vaguely see his original colour behind his now fire red eyes if you stared long and hard enough, much as he was. But he knew it was an acceptable feat, and with a little practice and dedication to the art, Aten could be an illusions master in no time, if he so chose. Likely, he would never pursue illusions, but it was a fun and handy trick to learn and a handy tool to have at his disposal. He respected illusions for what they were, and now had a deeper respect for those who could cast them due to this little project.

The basics of illusion. Arden was excited. Magic was something that always engaged him and he was more than happy to practice until he got this little trick right. Unfortunately by the end of the week he had only been able to squeak out the illusion, his eyes finally ghosting over a deep shade of brown before time was called. Arden was a bit disappointed with himself as he had hoped to excel in the same ways he did with other magic, but being able to see his eyes brown much like his mother's had tickled him pink in the end.
It was cheesy, but he had asked once why he had blue eyes and not brown like his mother and grandmother. It turned out that his Dad had had blue eyes (and of course, his child self had been disappointed yet for he wanted to mimic his mother in every aspect he could). He chased the memory away as quickly as it came. That was here nor there - he had passed the test and he looked to Tethys for confirmation.

Parox was very interested in illusions. She dreamed about using illusions to make her parties all the more awesome! She eagerly attended the class and listened intently to the quiet geist teacher. He sure was adorable she couldn't help but think with a little smile.
He explained the assignment for the week and she immediately got to work. The first step was deciding what color to change her eyes to, which was difficult...as she loved her bright green eyes. She dug into her bag and pulled out an art book. She looked through the colors for some time before she decided on an ice blue color. With that in mind, she really began the assignment. By the end of the week she was able to make her eyes a bright ice blue. It wasn't perfect, she knew, but it was good enough. She would get better with practice. The practice just wouldn't be eye color changing. Her eyes were fine as they were.

Aren listened to the assignment and nodded, he had been working on magic lately. Knowing that it had always given him trouble in the past. This task though seemed simple enough, he put his mind to it and began to concentrate. First he would need a color, pink had always been his favorite, and how cool it might be if he were to have pink eyes. Thinking on this hard he began to feel the changing. Looking into the mirror he saw that his eyes were indeed the same color as the streaks in his hair. He looked to the teacher for approval. Surely he had done the assignment well, passing with flying colors as always.

Lestari pulled a mirror out of her pocket so she could tell whether she'd gotten her eyes to change. She took a moment to look at her eyes and wrinkled her nose. They were plain and pale. She wanted to try something that would pop and maybe even startle someone who looked at her. But they had to match her coloring. They were already a pale purple, close to her hair color so she thought about a brighter, more vibrant purple. Something that would almost glow. Surprisingly, the illusion came easily to her and it didn't take more than a minute for her eyes to become a bright purple.
