Background / Personality:
Izusa was the first Kalona, and as such has had a difficult time growing up.
She had no one to guide her as to how she should act, nor teach her how to hunt so for a time she lived as a normal Soquili did, but with a bit more spite to her. Which as a filly was limited to tricking other nicer Soquili's or stealing food from the Villagers.
When she grew up she became a little more vicious, finally starting to hunt occasionally but was drifting into madness as she was unsure of herself and her place in the world. She didn't know or understand her feelings, her nature and went off into solitude, taking herself away from everyone until she happened upon Guilian.
Because of her mental state, she allowed herself to be seduced by the winged Casanova, which resulted in three tainted children, which she has no contact with today.
Izusa drifted further into herself after Guilian made it known that he wasn't interested in a relationship with her, and she developed a deep hatred for him, which led to her trying to poison her children's relationships with their father.
During this time she was only visited by her daughter Neve, which ended badly after Izusa's mind finally snapped into place and she realised that whilst she might never be the perfect Kalona, she would be the perfect predator.
She attacked her daughter and went out into the world again with a purpose.
Back in the world she met Taraxippus, a shadow-unicorn with a taste for blood that matched her own. It was a meeting of darkness, which resulted in three strange children that she hopes will be as vicious as their parents.
Redux:
Izusa has recently gone through a rather interesting transformation - one that she has taken on herself and is fully committed to, no matter how her sense of her reality is challenged. In order to cleanse herself of her past and move forwards as the Kalona she has always wanted to be, she has chosen to wipe her memory clean, has placed a self-imposed amnesia on everything that she has done in her life. All she will allow herself to remember is that she came to the Kawani lands a long time ago...

Background / Personality:
Neve is a fighter, a strong mare. She wasn't always so, she thought that she was meant to be beholden to her mother Izusa, and that she should be like her. She even tried to hunt and eat meat as her mother does, but found she wasn't bloodthirsty enough to do so.
She can still be quite sharp at times, and sarcastic but on the whole she has lost what cruelty she did have because of two things; meeting Marius, and being attacked by her mother.
She realised how vicious her mother was to her, despite Neve being the only one that stood with her when her father left Izusa. She knows that if her mother finds out about the fact that she's had children not once, but twice with a grounded, Izusa would wreak bloody havoc.
Now that she is once again alone Neve could easily fall from grace and become as vicious as her mother, but she is stronger than that now. Although she believes she could happily live without having another mate, a part of her can't reconcile that she is meant to grow old alone.

Background / Personality:
Shinoma is currently the most favoured of all Izusa's children; a real chip off the old vicious block, Shinoma may turn out to be more nasty and predatory than her mother!
Shinoma loves to hunt, and has had the taste for blood since her mother introduced her to fresh, warm meat. She is cruel, and likes to tease and prey on other's weaknesses. She is attracted to the aura of menace and power, and is pretty fearless.
She is very arrogant though, putting a lot of stock in the fact that she looks quite scary.
Now that Shinoma is grown she is eager to test her skills as an adult hunter, and especially wants to slay an Angeni.
Shinoma is still as predatory as ever, and a great hunter. Lately however she has found herself in the company of an Alicorn stallion called Firestorm who she met when they were both young. Initially she found him annoying, but when they met again as adults she found something attractive in him and they have gotten together.
They have since had a second set of children and she is firmly attached to Firestorm.

Background / Personality:
Marut comes from a large family, on her mother and father's side. Her Grandmother is the Kalona Izusa, and whilst Marut doesn't show any outward traits of that heritage, she is very aware that somewhere inside her is demon blood, though she doesn't worry overly about that fact.
Marut is a boys name, her mother named her just after giving birth, and as Neve was still half delirious from pain, she thought her daughter was a third son, and so named 'him' then and there. Only when Marut emerged from her basket did her mother realise the mistake and by then it was too late; Marut had stuck.
The mare lives up to her name, she doesn't care a great deal about her appearance, despite being told she is pretty she really doesn't believe it. She loves her brothers, and gets on with them both, despite them hating each other. She likes to go on long treks, get dirty and spar with her brothers, and much prefers the company of males.
Marut is protective of her older sister Maharet, and tries to give her advice on how to be braver than she is.
She is now happily mated to a wonderful, if not a little stuffy stallion called Raniero. She loves him and their three children dearly, and looks forward to one of them making her a grandmother!

Background / Personality:
Chatura is one of three siblings born to Marut (a sporty, tomboyish mare), and Raniero (a scholarly & straight speaking stallion). Chatura takes mostly after her father, she is interested in the whys and wherefores but tries not to sound too superior in her observations. She's semi-athletic but will never take as much pleasure in running or racing as her mother does.
She's pretty easy to talk with, but does have a slight temper if she thinks you are wasting her time, by fooling around, and she really doesn't like rudeness.
She recently finished a research project;
Although it is very diluted by now, Chatura does in fact have Kalona in her family, her grandmother is half-kalona. Because of how her grandmother turned out, and how some of her other relatives look and act, she grew up wanting to know what exactly it is that makes half-bloods the way they are. She went out and met Kalonas to find out their opinions, and saw their behaviour, and met half-kalona's, those that have embraced their bad blood and those that have turned away from it.
She had to abandon it when she was attacked and hurt by a Kalona. She now has a healthy respect for predator types, and has a fear of being attacked again.
This caused her to become spooked one day and she ran into Sastimos who looked after her. They spent time together and she thought that they were very much in love, however one day he simply vanished and she has not seen him since.
Familiar:
Bubo is Chatura's long distance eyes, a partnership that became invaluable after she was attacked. Currently he has gone travelling but eventually he will find her again and be able to convey her whereabouts to her family.

Flamma didn't come about in the traditional manner; she was the answer to a long made wish by her mother, Shinoma. So as she grew up, she was coddled by her mother, not in a way to make her weak but to try and raise her as the epitome of everything she wished a daughter would be; strong, vicious and lovely enough to get what the hell she wanted if brute force and savagery wouldn't get the job done. She does feel that there's some expectation to be that perfect daughter, though she has begun to rebel as her mother tries to keep her close, so she's always vanishing (often for days on end) because she knows that no matter what, Shinoma won't do anything to drive her away permanently.
She's a bit of a wanton killer, she's bloody stubborn and wants her own way as much as possible. She has a penchant for killing anything with horns, and she collects them (she has a cave that no one knows about that she decorates with her trophies). She doesn't actually eat her kill all that often, mostly because she does so alot more than she hungers.
