Neve's wings beat the air with hard strokes, feeling the push of the wind beneath the feathers. She looked towards the ground, and then angled herself downwards, gliding softly to the grass of the meadow below. She landed with a thud, shaking her mane into place as she folded her wings closed. She was glad to have the skies to herself; it was bad enough being related to her brother Antony, without having to bump into him when she was feeling her freest. She let out a snort - she didnt want to think about him at all, and she walked along slowly, chewing on a mouthful of grass as she went.
This area seemed as dull as the one she had just left though, she glanced around, not seeing anything other then trees, birds and in the distance a two-legger. 'Hrrumph..' she said, her tone speaking volumes at the fact that there didnt seem anyone interesting around.

Kifo was on his own, as he so often seemed to be of late. Though rather than let this get him down, the stallion took great pleasure in using his solitude as an excuse to do whatever he liked. What he liked was to run off his boundless energy, thundering around, launching himself into the air, kicking out his hooves and generally just flexing his muscles. Rearing up onto his hind legs he punched out at the air with his forelegs triumphantly before throwing back his head and charging into a gallop, heavy hooves propelling him through the grass at his top speed. Only when he spotted a figure not far off did he slow to a trot than a walk, snorting in a pleased with himself fashion as he tried to catch his breath.
He walked close enough to be within hearing distance of the dangerous looking female, and grinning confidently, pawed the ground with a hoof.
"Ello mon."

How peculiar.. was Neve's first thought when she beheld the stranger. From his colouring, to the strange adornments and to the horns, she had not seen anything so - different before. And her mother was a Kalona so that was saying something.
His wasnt an unwelcome appearance, and it was also timely. Had he taken a few minutes more to come along she would have missed him as she was about to take to the wing again.
'Hello.' she said, her voice quiet, enough that he might have to draw closer to hear what she had to say. After her intial surprise at his arrival, she had started looking at him with a different eye, the kind she had inherited from her father. He looked very good to her.

Kifo had grown up very much on his own, his family was a herd of soquili who looked very similar to the way he did, varying shades of blue, strange tusks, tribal markings and jewellery. He'd been happy there, messing around with his sisters and parents, as if it would never come to an end, but unfortunately for him, one of the strict parts of his families' tradition was that there was only one stallion in a herd. Kifo would never challenge his father, who was far stronger and experienced than he was, so he accepted things had to be the way they were and left.
It was because of this secluded upbringing that every Soquili he met seemed to be totally unfamiliar and strange. This female was even moreso than any he'd met before, however, unlike the others, she seemed more warrior-like. In his mind there was no point in existing if you couldn't fight, if you weren't ready to take on any predator that decided to foolishly attack you and make sure it never attacked anyone again, that you weren't worth the time of day. It wasn't because he was particularly arrogant, just intolerant of soquili who were pretty but totally helpless.
Her words had the desired effect however, and with an interested quirk of his brow, he trotted nearer, swishing his long untamed tail casually, He wore the fact that no human had ever owned him like a badge.
His red gaze drifted over Neve's wings and surprise was evident in it. He'd never seen a mare with wings before. Could she fly?
"Pleasure ta meet ya mon. I be Kifo, what can I call ya?"

Neve smiled, the curve of her mouth going up and exposing a fang. She looked at the stallion from under half-lidded eyes as he approached..she liked that her little devious action had yielded the result she wanted.
His scent was..overwhelmingly male, and she felt for a moment vulnerable. She recovered her senses - she had her mother's fire after all, and she wasnt a meek, cowering mouse of a mare.
'Your voice..you speak in a strange way.' She flicked her gaze to his eyes, searching his with her own. 'I am Neve. And I am very pleased to meet you.' her voice was husky and she emphasised the 'very'.

The blue stallion wasn't sure if she meant harm to him or if she was simply being friendly, he wasn't good at reading the expressions of others just yet, especially when he was too busy being dazzled by a coat of fur that was so very not-blue and wings that seemed something from a tale told to him by his grandmother. Still, the difference wasn't negative, and he noted mentally that this Neve - as he now knew she was called - also had tusks, of a sort, a sign of great beauty in the herd he'd left behind. He had no idea that fangs were any different and wouldn't have beleived someone if they told him.
He laughed. "I be speakin' strange? Nah mon, it be you who speak different to these ears." he flicked his ears to make his point, making the earrings on them jingle merrily. An easy smirk still on his face he added "Though ah will concede dat I ain't met many who speak like me since I be leavin' home a long time ago. I be startin' ta think dat mibbeh it's me who be different."
He realised he was rambling, for the first time in a long time actually shaken by a striking looking mare. He gritted his teeth, gulping to steel his nerves before he spoke again.
"It be nice to meet a fiery mare again. I be seein' dat you ain't no shinking violet. Dat be a refreshing change."

Neve chuckled. She supposed that given his looks and speech that he had come from far from here. It was a fair point that she would likely sound as strange to him as he to her. 'I can understand you easily enough though, and it is not an unpleasant sound to my ears.' In her eyes Kifo's status had raised a few notches, he seemed infinitely more exotic then any other stallion she had met so far.
At his compliments she felt herself puff up a little, and she rustled her wing feathers, a cat that got the cream kind of feeling stealing over her. 'I'm not shy, nor easily frightened.' she said, giving him a wink. 'My mother is Kalona, so I get that from her.' She didnt add that the flirting was from her Casanova father, besides, the longer she laid it on, the more it was going to be obvious that she found Kifo pleasing to the eye. 'You've come from far away then? I think I'd know if I'd seen one like you before.'

Kifo nodded gladly, at least there was that, at least other soquili could understand him, it would have been much more difficult to get around if they couldn't. "True mon, if I couldn't be understandin' ya, it'd be pretty bad."
"And ya mon, tough ladies be a commodity in my sorta herd. You be a rare sort." he'd never heard of a Kalona, and assumed that it was some sort of soquili, possibly similar to a herd type perhaps. Either way it sounded like a warrior-like type and was good by him. "Yo mutha should be proud den."
Kifo wasn't one to overtly flirt, not sure how even to go about such a thing, but he did smirk conspirationally as he trotted past Neve to gesture with a hoof in the direction of the hills far away. "Ya mon, I be comin' from a place where da ground be dry an' red an' da trees be different from here. I been walkin' a long time since fatha' kicked me outta da herd. I don' think I could fin' ma way back if I wanted to."

Neve laughed at that, exposing her little pointed fangs once more as she did so. Neve didnt often let herself go; in everything she did, all her movements, it all had to be attractive. She certainly wasnt going to let any stallion of worth slip through her hooves because she'd made a ridiculous expression. 'I am?' A commodity? She thought that was a good thing, she hoped it was! 'Oh I believe she is, more so of me then my two brothers.' The tiniest of frowns threatened but she checked herself and just gave Kifo another sidelong look. 'Oh you were kicked from your herd? For what reason?'
