Izusa drifted along the large area near the Lake, not really caring where she went. After all, she had nothing to worry about, and despite the fact that she'd only days ago given birth to three foals, she wasn't worried either that anyone would attack her. Regardless of her body still recovering from the labour, she was confident in her own abilities, and in her vicious nature.
She wasn't worried about the basket bound children either, Taraxippus would guard them, and she had already grudgingly admitted to herself that he was almost her equal. He wasn't Kalona, but the most vicious non-Kalona she'd had the pleasure of meeting. Children.. she snorted at that thought. At least this time she would do things right, these would have blood-lust, both their parents were hunters. There would be no influences from soft-natured winds. There would be no consorting with any Soquili that didn't enjoy the taste of blood for these new foals. She was determined not to repeat her first mistakes.
Minutes later, she was strolling along with not a care in the world and a partially full belly. She had stumbled by chance on a fawn that was lain in the grass, and had dined well on the young, sweet, meat. She licked her fang-teeth as she meandered, her tail slithering behind her like so many thorny snakes.

Loveless had smelled the blood of such a fawn in the distance, and she instantly started moving her body towards its location. Just hours ago she had feasted on some leftover meat she saved before getting as pregnant as she was, but it appeared that her body was obsessed with eating. She knew it was driving Antony crazy, but at the same time it was humorous. He refused to eat meat, but then again, he was a dummy on that sort of thing. It was his loss really, she needed the blood, and she knew the children would be thankful for some hefty morsels in her system!
She was exhausted as she moved, but there was something wonderful about being pregnant. She could eat as much as she wanted, and everyone seemed to have a strange respect for mothers. She was amused when random Soquili would spot her, since a pregnant Kalona mare was a sight to vanish from! She was surprised that her mood swings had been somewhat contained, but there were nights when she just wanted to lash at something! Her father had explained that all of these things were normal, so she tried to keep herself as rested as she could. It was also incredibly fun making Antony her slave.
At this moment in time, she had given Antony the freedom to go do as he wished, and she suspected that he had gone to see his father or something. She had to admit, it was nice having some alone time for herself. She didn't need him worrying about her or anything, since she was completely capable on her own. Despite her mind being flustered with what offspring would come, she kept her senses sharp, and before she knew it, she could smell another Kalona in the air's scent.

Izusa's head tilted, her ears flickering as a small distance away there was the sound of birds taking swift flight. Something, or someone was approaching from that direction.
She turned on her hooves, walking straight over, curious to see who would be bold enough to come walking along in her stead, when her scent was heavily on the ground. She soon spied the mare, and stood her ground, looking directly at her, snorting quietly as she saw the wings accompanied by that tail. Izusa still considered those that didnt posess the same tail as her to be a little beyond the pale. She recognised that they were Kalona, she knew that they could have the same bloodlust as she did, but still. She was proud of her tail, it was a handy weapon, and added to her overall appearance as it slithered along behind her. She blinked, there was something about this one that was registering a small amount of familiarity. Izusa wouldn't speak first though, instead she merely continued to stand there, lazily looking the other over.

When the other Kalona mare came into Loveless' view, she instantly knew who the other mare was. A flashback occurred in her mind, and she remembered how amazed she was by this Kalona's hunt. It was a wonderful image in her mind, and she only smiled as she thought about it. This silver Kalona was still as impressive as the last time she saw her, and Loveless took a few steps forward before pondering a comfortable distance between them. This was the other mare's territory, so there was no reason to intrude. "Good day." she then said, in a firm but quiet voice. "I don't want to intrude on your territory, but do you mind me coming closer?"
If she hadn't known the mare, she wouldn't have asked such a forward question. But, she had no idea if this mare remembered her at all, or if she would dislike the idea of chatting. Either way, Loveless decided to ask anyways, since rejection was just another reason to walk away from the situation. She then shuffled her hooves for a moment, since she felt a slight discomfort on her waist. It was moments like these were she truly felt how heavy she was...
There was one connection that was never introduced in her mind, and that was the connection between Antony and Izusa. Loveless always tried to ask who Antony's Kalona mother was, since she was always interested with that kind of information. She knew her name was Izusa, but she had never learned this silver mare's name! How strange fate was!

Maybe younger. The feeling continued to tug at Izusa, stirring memories. Much of her life had gone by in a bit of a fog because of her previous mental state, but the things that were sharpest were those that had either given her large amounts of pleasure or pain. 'I remember a filly, and a hunt.' she muttered, looking sharply at the pregnant mare. Maybe it was her, they'd not exchanged names, the kill and showing the Kalona youth how to do so had been more important at the time.
'If you wish to, you may.' she replied, a faint look of amusement on her face. This mare had far more to lose than she did, and she highly doubted that this other Kalona would pick a fight in her condition. Izusa looked sharply at the belly this time. 'You're heavy, not long to go I would say. The father is a Kalona?' she didn't say 'I hope', but that was heavily inferred by the look in her eyes.

Loveless was just as amused, since a lot had happened since the last time she had met this silver kalona. In the past, she would have easily wanted such a stallion, one who tore at meat and devoured blood just as she did. But fate would have it that she was carrying the grandchildren of the silver mare, and it was something that would bring a fun controversy into the conversation. It would be time until the both of them realized it.
Loveless then made her way closer, before lazily resting herself against a small tree. "I believe he is a half Kalona." she then said, while keeping her eyes sharp. "It used to matter to me, but now I find myself happier living in my own wave of life." Would the silver Kalona hate her for such a truth? Loveless really didn't care at this point, she had agreed to live as a failured Kalona from now on. Her father did it, and she found that amusing. All she needed was her father's pride, and those who cared for her entirely. When she was living her life as a proud Kalona, she hated the experiences she had, and the bleak relationships she carried. It was through Antony that she could truly be happy. The past was a joke to her.
"I used to think I was trying to bring out the Kalona in him, but I probably gave up months ago." she shook her head slightly, while remembering the conflicts they both bared. She was horrible for being so cruel to him in the beginning, but it was to be expected. They were both growing and learning, and they decided to remain as themselves in the end.

Happiness. Izusa didn't even really know what that was anymore. She didn't even believe it was something she could experience. She'd not been happy with Guilian, she'd been crazy and confused. On her own she'd slipped even more until that one moment when everything crystallised into a pure moment of realisation. She hadn't been raised by Kalona's and she'd had to discover it all on her own. She had found..it had to be a measure of peace with who she was at this time, and trying to erase her mistakes with the attempt on her daughter's life had shown that she could be as ruthless as she'd always hoped to be. Maybe she wasn't the perfect Kalona..but she could be the perfect predator.
'Father's are easily dismissed.' she said. As long as this mare was prepared to teach her children the pleasure of the hunt and kill, maybe it wouldn't matter that the father was weak. He would just have to have no influence on them.
'What is his name?' Maybe she would give him a little visit, after all now that it had clicked as to who this mare was, she had a vested interest in seeing her foals come out as Izusa had once tried to teach their mother. 'And your name? Because I remember you now. A filly who I was more proud of than my own children.'

She wasn't sure how she felt about dismissing Antony anywhere, since she enjoyed his company and humor. Maybe the Kalona in front of her preferred raising children on her own, but either way, Loveless knew that everyone had their reasons or tactics in the end. It wasn't her place to pry, especially when she didn't know the mare that well.
"You speak too highly of me, I am nothing proud. Though, I thank you for the compliment. My name is Loveless, and the father's name is Antony". She then stated, with a slight head tilt. "Do you know of him?" Ah yes, finally the biggest truth was let out. When Loveless thought about it, she needed to learn this mare's name as well, since only her image was imprinted in her memory. "And what is your name, if I may ask?" Soon all answers would be molded together, and Loveless would realize how connected she was to this mare afterall.
"What children do you have?" she then asked, while raising her eyes once again. "I can only imagine them being as impressive as you, since you were always a legend in my eyes." Loveless was interested to hear how this other Kalona had lived her life, and why she stated such a negativity towards her children.

'I considered you so, then.' Izusa had been on the road to recovery at that time, but still dipping into bouts of madness, so the memory was as cherished as they ever got for her.
She let out a long hiss, the spikes on her wings rattling and her tail tendrils lashed hard against the ground, raising a shower of earth. 'I know of him well..' she spoke, her teeth showing in a grimace. 'He is my son. A waste of my blood..' her eyes flashed as she looked at the mare. If he was consorting with a Kalona and even sown his seed in her belly. Maybe all was not lost. 'Or I thought him to be. Yet you say he has gotten you with child?'
She moved, pacing in a small circle, and gave a snort as she answered Loveless, but her words were almost to herself; 'I was foolish, I didn't choose wisely. One, I tried to kill, she had little of me in her, and chose a grounded as her mate. My two sons...I thought they would be more like me, but only one was. Pure Kalona blood might not be everything to me that it once was, but the desire to be a predator is.'
Izusa gave a chilling smile; 'I mated advantageously the second time, my children will be killers, all.' she paused, her head tilted towards Loveless, ears pricked. 'And now you know this, little mother, are you so willing to be around me? You carry another generation of my line, and I would see grow as they should.'

Loveless was indeed shocked by Izusa's words, but she tried to hide herself so that her face was calm and unemotional. How could she not see the resemblance? Was she an idiot for never putting two and two together? With a small sigh, she only curled her tail a bit while thinking about the past that Antony carried, and that Izusa was indeed his mother. "He has given me children, and I can only argue that his blood is not wasted." she quietly raised her eyes to Izusa's, while nodding contently. "I've always believed that he carried potential, maybe a potential that is different then you and I. Potential is all I ask for." Antony was unique, but Loveless never regarded that as a negative. It kept her amused and intrigued, and their relationship was fun.
When Izsua brought up a predator, Loveless realized that she was conflicted with the word, since she wasn't as predator-like as she used to be. She loved blood, and meat, and ate and killed constantly. But she wasn't raised to believe in anything but herself. Her father had given her the freedom to do as however she wished, and in the beginning she had made a horrible mistake. Should she guide her children completely? Her mind was puzzled in what to do in her future task of motherhood.
If her father had stopped her from her mistakes, would she be a better individual overall? She wouldn't have carried as many mistakes as she had currently... and that was something that was obvious indeed. "...grow as they should." she then repeated, while staring at the ground. "I can only ask that they grow as happy and healthy as I did. I cannot make them be anything they don't want to be." Loveless didn't believe that they should grow in any specific way, so she and Izsua certainly carried different perspectives on that topic. "I am more then willing to be around you, and the children, since you once showed me how to hunt, and since then I have always mastered in the skill myself. Your strength was amazing to me back then, and now."
This mare in front of her was certainly interesting. Did she really find her first batch of children to be a mistake? "Despite what you say, I think you are a fine Kalona, and that all of your children will carry on your strengths along with them. I know of Antony, and Nic, and they are truly impressive as stallions. I can only imagine that your daughter is as rooted and strong." Loveless would never understand the connection to a mistake, and she found Izsua to be praise worthy, since she did what she wanted as a creature and as a Kalona. That was what life was all about, and her father had taught her that well. Maybe Izusa just need more faith in herself, and Loveless had learned how much better life was with a strong hint of confidence.

Izusa mulled Loveless's words over. It was true that she hated how her first mating had turned out, the resulting children had given her little to be proud of so far, and unless Nicholi had faired better she still thought that they were all failures. Or had. 'Potential' she muttered to herself, eyeing the fat curve of the mare's sides.
'Yes I suppose they should.' When Izusa wanted something she could be reasonable, and very sly about it as well. When Loveless had birthed the foals, she would have every opportunity to be around and influence their progress. She wasn't going to press the point now, a disagreement would only result in damage - to the mother and the lives within. Despite who their father was, she was curious as to what exactly this new generation would look like.
'I know I am a fine Kalona,' Izusa said, without a slightest trace of irony. She'd not always known it, when she was a filly she didn't even know what she was, just different. 'Are you eating well?' The silvery-purple mare skirted around the comment on her daughter, only her tail lashed a little.

The mare's silence was amusing to Loveless, and she wondered if her own words had affected her at all. Either way, she was glad that they were conversing like this. Izusa seemed very hurt on her past relations with Guilian, and Loveless didn't find anything wrong with it. Especially when it brought three unique children into the world. Izusa needed to believe in herself perhaps, since Kalonas always carried a unique pride in themselves. It took Loveless some time to understand her own strengths, and she hoped Izusa would soon as well.
"Yes, I just ate only a bit ago. I am thankful to see you are also treating yourself well." Loveless wasn't experienced in the pregnancy department, and Izusa was probably used to the whole motherhood ordeal, and the blood craving that came with boredom. Loveless was actually more comfortable physically then she had been in awhile, and that still surprised her, since the topic of Antony seemed very tense on the air. The mother-son relationship was confusing to Loveless, and she wondered what question would be appropriate for her to ask. It wasn't her business to ask, anyways. But. She was a stubborn mare, and that was always obvious.
"I understand that it is not my place to pry, but why is it that you and Antony have some problems in your relationship? I have enjoyed the time I have spent with you, but there must be something I am missing or not understanding or seeing." she paused then, while sighing somewhat. "I suppose that all families have their conflicts, though sometimes I find it hard to understand why some exist." Antony was usually quiet on the subject of his family, and Loveless could tell he was angered somewhat when he thought about it. "I just don't want there to be new conflict, for the sake of our own children." She lowered her eyes to the ground, while finally feeling somewhat-maternal. Peace was probably boring, but it WAS appropriate for children.

'It wouldn't affect the new blood, not unless their father made it so.' Izusa refused to let her son interfere with her being a part of her grandchildrens lives. Especially given that their mother was a Kalona, there was much hope for them in that respect.
Izusa stared at Loveless for longer than was comfortable, her expression unreadable. 'No, it probably isn't your place to pry.' she said flatly. 'I can't see that..Antony,' and here she said his name most reluctantly but said it nonetheless. 'Would have talked about me much. I am sure he wanted to forget all about his darling mother. His father and I had a difficult relationship whilst it lasted. Out of all my children he most resembles his father. He might not be a philanderer but in every other respect..my reasons are my own, at any rate I don't seem to have damaged him too much.'
Obviously and rationally she could see that he had grown. Grown fairly well. And chosen his mate well. But his lack of a predatory instinct would always grate on her. She would ask about the own mares parents, but as long as the were both Kalona, there wasn't much more than she wanted to know.

Loveless felt a tenseness to the air around the both of them, but at the same time she was glad that she had addressed a deep subject area. It did bother her that Antony had never brought the subject up, since he knew that Loveless had her own problems with her mother as well. Nonetheless, she would find out for herself when the time permitted, but for now she would have to make a somewhat good impression on his mother, even though that seemed impossible at this point.
"I really don't know what his reasonings are myself," she then said, while flicking her hair a bit out of her eyes. "but I do hope that things get worked out or resolved? I am just sorry that I can't be of any help to you." Which was entirely true, since it wasn't her affair to meddle with. She had no information or gossip, so in a sense she was entirely useless! Heh, in her mind that sounded rather silly to think about.
"I should be having children very soon, and I am sure you will see them running around at some point." she then added, while nodding her head slowly. She remembered running off in her own youth, so she wouldn't have been surprised if one of the children ran into Izusa anyhow! "The children will be whatever they want to grow up and be, since that's how I was raised, and Antony to his father as well. I'm rather relaxed myself, since I come from a very relaxed family head." Her father was something alright, and the thought always made her chuckle.

'Resolution would be impossible my dear. Not unless Antony decides to give into his blood, and taste others.' Izusa snorted, she knew her dainty son would never do either.
'And I would never ask for your help, or anyones for that matter. I am always strong.' It was technically true, after all she couldn't conceive on her own could she? But she would never do so with anyone who wasn't a predator again. That would be the only 'help' she would ever require from anyone.
'I am sure I will.' she said evasively. Again she was thinking that when Loveless wasn't around would be the time to push them towards their baser instincts, see that her bloodline if not fully Kalona, was completely vicious. She refrained from even commenting on what the other mare had said; of her family and of Antony's father.
'For now, I am going to take my leave of you. I am becoming hungry again,' her eyes glittered and gave a swift lick of her lips.
