User ImageKlei woke up this morning around the usual time, some time early in the morning, and went for his daily run for a few hours. He started off with a trot then went to a gallop not long after starting. He had a strong belief that one should exercise a lot, if not everyday. Not really using the reason of being healthy just that one should do it. The rushing wind felt nice on his face as he picked up speed. His tail thrashed about in the wind trying to find a more steady flow but failed as more wind kept hitting it from different angles. Despite the hot day that could appear the mornings were nice and cool, which Klei was quite happy about.

After running for some time now he began to grow tired and made his new destination the nearest lake or river that he could find. He found what he thought was a body of water in the distance so he headed in that direction. The sun was a lot higher now and Klei was beginning to feel the affects. Letting out a slightly agitated sigh he slowed down the pace, growing closer to the lake.

Upon arriving at the lake Klei noticed it was quite large in size. The sun's rays made the lake's surface sparkle and shine. "Heh, the only thing the sun is good for." Klei mumbled out with a light chuckle, indicating that the sun was only good for making things look pretty. Though, the lake wasn't out in the middle of nowhere. You can tell by the ground around the lake that a lot of things came there. There were many different kinds of footprints and remains of man made things.

Marut was actually in the Lake, and was treading water until she got to the shallower area, her mane slicked back away from her face, and her tail floating on the surface behind her. When her hooves hit the bottom, she walked along, a small wave surging in front of her chest until she was walking out of the water.

She hadn't yet spotted the stallion, and stood on the bank, shaking herself, drops spraying every which way. Her mane hung in waves, as did her tail, they both went a little wavy when wet. At least she could see for a time being, and whilst her mane was still damp enough, she didn't have to keep flicking it back.

Marut yawned, now taking the time to look around the Lake. A small distance down from where she had emerged she saw the stallion, and she turned, meandering towards him.

The reflection of the sun on the lake tampered with Klei's vision so he wasn't able to see the mare that seemed to be swimming, let alone her walking out. He actually didn't notice the mare until she was completely out of the water and made her way towards him. As he caught her presence out of the corner if his eye he froze slightly.

He turned his head to face her and watched as she walked. He noticed the waves in her mane and tail and the little left over water droplets that beaded on them. Scanning her over he examined the designs on her coat and the little red specks on her newly damped tail. Despite her being wet the others mane and hair still has some flow to it.

He simply stayed still and watched her. He didn't know if she was simply passing by him or was walking towards him to speak. His tail flicked as he adjusted his position, taking a few steps over to the left.

As Marut got closer she noticed the strange object on the stallions head - what was that? He was a big fellow (despite Marut often beating up her brothers she carried on the female line, and was built quite small), and she found the white on black of his colouring quite cool to look at. He was just as patterned as she was, which was also cool, it was nice not being the only one that looked like a, a squirrel had been painting on you with berry juice!

'Hello.' she said, stopping a few paces from him, sizing him up further. She wouldn't go any closer until she discovered whether or not he was friendly, or if he even wanted to stop and talk to her! She kind of hoped so though, he looked like he would be fun to spar with.

As the mare stopped near him Klei noticed that she had a heart marking on her chest. Even though it was probably her smallest marking it stood out when close, or at least to Klei it did. Every tiny detail, to him, was just as bold and important as the larger ones. He grew so distracted looking her over he almost didn't hear her speak. "Hmm!" He moaned with a startled head jolt, almost knocking his goggles down over his eyes.

"Hi." He finally responded after fixing his goggles, raising a brow due to the mare looking at him. Growing a bit antsy due to his own inner debating over what her personality could be Klei continued to stare at the other. "Can I help you?" He said bluntly following a tilt of the head.

Marut found herself blush, nose growing warm, for what was probably the first time in her life. She hadn't felt quite so openly scrutinised by anyone so far. It quickly passed, and thanks to her dark muzzle wouldn't have been noticed anyway, as he seemed to jump when she spoke, the whatyacallit on his head almost falling down.

'Help me? No, I don't need any help, I was just swimming in the Lake, I got out, saw you and decided to be friendly and say hello. I mean,' she grinned.

'You didn't exactly look like you were doing anything I would have been interrupting.'

Klei continued to look her over as she spoke back to him. He hadn't quite figured out if he should be regretting this meeting or not but he simply continued to listen. "Ah." He responded back. His response was extremely short but he didn't really know what to say at the time so that was all he could think of.

"I guess it can be true that I wasn't really doing anything." Klei answered back as he turned his head to face the lake, which was still just as shiny as it was before. Truth be told he actually did come here for a reason but that's not that important now. He lightly squinted from the reflection of the water so to help him see he shook his head so the goggles would slide down to his eyes. The lake now had a purplish pink tint to it and everything wasn't nearly as bright or colorful but he didn't care.

'Well see, so now why did you ask if I needed any help? Were you thinking I was a mare that needs to be rescued or something?' Marut grinned cheekily.

'Because I ain't like that at all, matter of fact, I could actually rescue you.' she laughed, watching him look into the Lake, the thingy he was wearing sliding down so that it covered his eyes.

'What are those? Can you see like that? Like can you see me still?' Marut poked her tongue out at him, to see if he could see what she was doing.

"Wait what?! Are you accusing me of assuming you were a weak mare? I just figured you came over for a reason so I simply asked why." Klei quickly responded back as he turned to face her once again. Honestly! he thought to himself. His ears shot high as he heard her claim something about actually being able to rescuing him. Whether he gave her any glare or not wouldn't matter since she wouldn't have been able to see it anyway with his goggles on. So to indicate some kind of emotion following her claim he forcefully turned his head away.

"What. Are they? They're... goggles." Klei answered, turning his head once again which is starting to get tired, with a 'you seriously have no clue what they are?' tone. He was about to finish answering her rapid fire questions but became a bit disgruntled and caught off guard after she stuck her tongue out at him. "I can see you, you know... In case you were wondering..." he snorted. His voice dropped and grew quite sharp. Klei was rather proud of his goggles. So the fact how this mare seemed to be mocking them, or at least he thought so, made him a bit annoyed.

Marut chuckled;
'No need to get your tail in a bunch! It was just a weird thing to ask, most just say hello, and then we start talking.' she poked the tip of her tongue out at the stallion again. So much like her brothers, all front and bluster.

'Gog-ells? What are those for?' she raised a brow, she really had never seen anything like them before, much less on a Soquili.

'You can see me huh? Well I suppose it's a good thing, you'd be bumping into all sorts otherwise.'
She wasn't mocking his goggles, it was just her nature to be playful.
'What's your name then? I'm Marut.'

Klei snorted again as her tongue came poking out of her mouth once more. "I guess that could be true." He added after the tongue incident ended.

"What are goggles?" How does one explain what goggles are? He couldn't say they were like glasses cause knowing his luck she wouldn't know what those were either. "Mmm... They're something that you can wear to make things not as bright as they are normally. They're good to have on a really sunny day." Klei still felt weird about describing what goggles were. Even if he had a knack of finding tiny, usually overlooked, details in things he wasn't very good at actually describing anything.

"Marut? Well I'm Klei." He answered back. So her name is Marut huh. He thought to himself then started to scan her over again. "You look like a Marut." He mentioned with a few nods.

Marut got the feeling the stallion wasn't all too pleased with her being cheeky - which sort of tempted her to be even more so! She was itching for a race, or even a playful spar, and so she hoped she could steer this Klei fellow into either one.

'Oh, so they stop you from getting those dancing lights across your eyes if you happen to get sun in them? Handy..' she nodded. She still found them peculiar, but at least they had a purpose.

'Pleased to meet you then Klei,' she nodded her head, her still drying mane falling across her eyes.
'Damn it,' she grumbled half-heartedly and flicked it back from her face.

'Better. And how d'you mean?' she raised a brow.
'You think I look like a guy?' she asked. Well he wasn't to know that it was actually a male name thanks to her mother naming her just after giving birth.

Klei watched as Marut's hair fell into her line of vision and tilted his head at her annoyance by it. "Are you able to see when that happens?" he questioned as he bent his head down, rubbing it along his leg which he raised, to slide his goggles to the top of his head, looking back at her after he was done.

"Hmm? How do I mean that you look like a Marut? I wouldn't say you look like a guy. I mean, you do have a power like feel to you when looking at you but I wouldn't say it was because you look like a guy." Klei started to trot around her as he continued to speak. "Marut isn't a very common name. It has a powerful feel to it. A name that you wouldn't take lightly. And your appearance isn't as common either. Or at least not a natural appearance. Your long mane and tail accent your dark colors and your white markings glow with an exotic flare. Your bangs seem to not want to be part of your hair itself so they flee to your face where they hang in front of it preventing you to see. Your colored face outlined in black would add a natural mysteriousness about you from afar, as if you know that you can take on anyone that comes across your path. The red specks on your tail adds just a splash of a warmer feel. But back to your bangs. Those are probably the most distinct feature that I notice. They only add to your mysteriousness since they block your eyes. Now I may be wrong but from afar you look like someone that would surprise many stallions with the things you're capable of. I dont believe a name like Marut would be given to someone who couldn't carry themselves. Therefore the sound of the name Marut and your appearance go hand in hand."

As Klei finally finished his giant description, which most likely made no sense and was something Marut probably didn't need to sit through since after a while it probably grew boring, he stopped in front of her where he was before. He quickly added, "But that's just my view..." He felt a bit silly giving a description that was based on his views which were most likely not how she saw it at all. Upon hearing her name those descriptions ran through his head instantly so they came out naturally when she asked her question. His preference of watching and examining outshines his stubbornness in certain situations that calls for it.

Marut nodded, causing her fringe to fall once again.
'Oh I can see,' she replied as she flicked it out of her vision once more.
'But it's like viewing everything through very long grass y'know?'

Marut did in fact listen to the whole mini-speech of Klei's; she was a good listener when she wanted to be, and as he seemed fairly nice so far she decided to be polite (for once), and not just pretend to pay attention. It was a good thing she had, because he'd just complimented her. A butt-load. Her eyes rounded and she managed to stop her mouth from dropping open.
What had her mother called her one time? "A pig crossed with a cat that's been dragged through a bush - backwards".

'Thanks..' she finally said.
'But you know, Marut is a guys name, my mother named me just after giving birth, and she thought she'd had 3 boys.' she snickered. It was a lovely vision, but did it really fit her? Maybe there was another mare standing juuuust behind her. She took a quick look before turning back to Klei.
'Err..' she was terrible at compliments.
'You look strong.'

"I know the feeling." Klei assured to Marut's comparison of looking through long grass. Most of the time he saw the world with his left eye due to his right being covered by hair but he's able to use his goggles to slide it away so he doesn't suffer all the time.

"Really? Your mom must have been surprised when she found out she had a daughter. But nonetheless she still picked a very fitting name." He replied with a few nods.

It took him a while to actually realize he complimented someone he just met and grew a bit embarrassed by it. Klei didn't really know Marut so the fact how what he used as a compliment confused him. Sometimes he gets a bit carried away when it comes to his habit of examining things he forgets what's going on around him. Her response in return just made him feel all the more uncomfortable so he turned his head to try and hid his emotion. His concentration at this point was torn since he was trying to pay attention to Marut but at the same time had his embarrassment weighing down on him.

It took him a while but he eventually responded. "What?" He turned his head and looked at his own body, wiggling it slightly. "I manage quite well so I guess I can say that's true. Though I'm most likely alot faster then I am strong."
