She had spent the morning following her mother around while her father played with the boys. Her mother was always hard to talk to, especially since she DIDN'T talk much. Loveless still found herself awed by her mother, since she was so mysterious and powerful. Either way, since her father had returned with the boys around lunchtime, she decided to tag along with him for the afternoon.
At first she was having a marvelous time, chatting away and learning about how important Pride is. Though she turned around after squashing a bug to see her father snoozing in the sunlight on a rock.
She giggled and made her way over to him, and moved pieces of hair over his eyes so that he could have some shade. Maybe he was just exhausted? She and him had been up late, dealing with some ugly girl who was making fun of her and another filly. Well, no matter, she was happy to explore around on her own. Loveless bounced around in the woody area, squashing bugs that came into their domain. Her father had warned her to stay close, no matter what, so she stayed a distance that she could yell for him if needed.

Izusa hiccuped in a lazy fashion, a wing coming around to cover her mouth as she did so. Her tail flicked in irritation as flies alighted near her, investigating what was left of the rabbit carcass. She moved, leaving behind the stained ground, wings fanning her sides before being folded away. She moved out of the sunshine, into the trees, blinking as the change from light to shade caused sunspots to dance across her eyes. She sniffed, taking in the scent of warm bodies and the thick smell of the greenery around her. Her head tilted, as she heard someone..something moving around just off to the left of her. She stayed still, just listening and waiting for whoever it was to blunder their way towards her.

In her silly mind game, the young female squashed one last bug before looking up to an incredible creature. Bits of purple and silver flashed her eyes, and she anxiously stared. She quickly backed up, and left a large distance between them out of shock. Her first instinct was to call for her father, but she was so.. curious.. what was this strong female. It looked just like her, except much bigger and much stronger!
It had a different tail then her and her mother, and she was so confused by the entire experience. It was nothing like that boring female she yelled at last night. She had no idea that there were more like her and her family..
"Sorry fer running over here.." She almost wispered, but felt the need to be pollite. Though, it was strange that she felt kinda afraid. Shaking her head, Loveless puffed her shoulders out, and tried to look strong like the female. Her eyes still held the same glare as her mother's.

Just a small thing. That's all it was. Piercing eyes though, and a darkness that stood out even amongst the shade from the canopy above. Little pointed wings, and the tail. Izusa felt her own flicker...it was a great source of irritation that the Kalona that had come after her wielded such a different tail from her own. She had been much pleased when one of her sons had been born with the tendrilled tail. 'You stopped before touching me...which was in your favour.' Izusa finally answered, having let the tense silence linger for enough time. She approved of the filly's stance although at her current size it was almsot laughable. The scent she carried was unfamiliar. 'Who are your parents?'

Loveless gulped, man, she was scary!
She didn't know weather to respond to her other comment, but she figured the smart thing to do was to just stay quiet on what she said. There was no reason to make a snide remark herself, especially since she would have gotten mad if someone had run into her. "My parents are Ariston and Heartless.." Her voice came back to normal, and she didn't want to be afraid anymore. Her mother was kinda spooky a lot, and her father was the complete opposite. She preferred the way her father acted, especially since being afraid was stupid and made someone look weak.
She let her eyes wander around a bit, until finally looking at Izusa's. "You are.. very strong looking. I hope I can be like that." Her shocked expression turned into a more controlled grin, and she wagged her tail excitedly. She thought all Kalona females acted like her mother, quiet and to themselves. This one.. was very different, and she liked that.

Fear almost smelt like wine to Izusa, and she could smeel a hint of it coming from the filly. She hadnt run, or cowered however which Izusa was amused about. Her parents had to be both Kalona, she could see nothing else on the filly that would say otherwise. She didnt react overtly to either name that she said; Heartless wasnt familiar to her at any rate but she did know the former - her daughter had mentioned him as being a stallion that Guilian knew. 'I know of Ariston.' she said, flicking the tendrils of her tail and letting them rest on her front hooves, having noticed the interest the filly had taken in the difference of hers. 'I think you will..you've not run from me.' and she smiled, showing her sharply tipped fang teeth in doing so. 'And I could make you run..flee for your mother if I wanted to.' she said, in a slightly dreamy fashion.

"My father is the best." She said, while staring at Izusa's teeth. Her own were still baby teeth, and yesterday when she was trying to eat, they hurt terribly. Though, seeing that Izusa's didn't hurt, maybe that meant Loveless's teeth would get better too. Hopefully growing up meant leaving behind all of these stupid pains she constantly felt.
Loveless's eyes widened and she put her head down gently. It would be strange to say thank you, but she felt what Izusa said was a huge compliment. "I don't run, and I don't like running. My mother runs a lot, and I hate that." She brought her golden orbs back on Izusa. "I wouldn't flee to my mother, miss." Her lips curled into a twisted fashion. "I like it, though, when everyone else runs away."
"And also," she wisped her tail backwards playfully again. "My lazy father is over there, sleeping." She giggled. "I could wake him but, I think its ok to let him rest for a bit." She nodded to Izusa as if this was all planned out. "My brothers kept him up all night."

'I didnt know my father.' Izusa said it matter of factly. Which was true. She'd known nothing before her basket time, and that had turned up in the Village, given to a two-legged one. Her nostrils flared at that thought. 'Is your mother not a Kalona?' And if she was, what was she doing running from anyone? Izusa had never taken flight from anyone, which, at some point might prove to be her downfall but so far she'd not felt threatened by anyone. The father was near? Izusa didnt know how she'd missed the pungent male smell before but now she caught it. 'You do not need to wake him..' she said softly, caught with an idea. 'Have you tasted your first blood yet?'

"No she is." Loveless said, and from Izusa's reaction, her voice trailed almost shamefully. "My dad explained it to me, she doesn't have many emotions, its really complicated.." That was, Heartless afterall. She didn't feel love, or have a heart. None of those things were needed when it came to Kalonas anyhow, but the offspring each seemed to have some overwhelming emotion from their mother, since she is unable to bear them herself.
Loveless, being, that she was extremely angry, holding a rage her mother never let out. Her father's influence though, was helping her control it.
"Ok I won't." She nodded, and pondered her next question. "Not really, my father is so weird about blood. He hates messing himself up." She laughed, she really didn't mind, with her dark composure and all. "But I tried to catch a squirrel earlier.. it looked delicious." She smiled with her little fangs, imagining the delicious scent it had.

'If she has no emotions then she should have no fear. If she runs, then she has that..' Izusa knew that Kalona werent supposed to entertain compassion, or the other finer feelings of the heart. But emotions such as rage - the heat that accompanied that feeling would hone instincts, and make one a powerful adversary. Izusa snorted at that little revelation as well; 'You have a fine pair of parents.' she said, her voice a little caustic. 'There is nothing like that taste..follow..' she said, slipping between two trees and looking back at the filly.

Wow, that was true, Izusa hit it right off the bat. Was her father lying to her? Or was he just as ashamed? Loveless shook her head and glared at the ground, feeling as rageful as ever. She would need to confront her mother later, and find out what's really going on.
But then.. a task? Loveless looked behind her to where her father was, and then back at Izusa. She heard once.. her father saying to her mother that he wanted to keep Loveless away from other Kalonas. Loveless herself was outraged with the thought, so when she brought her eyes back on Izusa, she only smiled and said, "Ok." If Izusa really wanted to attack her, Loveless would deal with it on her own. She could come wake her father up later, it was HIS fault for sleeping and leaving her their alone.
And besides... blood? How she would dream at night for her first taste.. Izsua might be giving her a good lesson for life as well.
She skiddered her legs to follow, and in a short breath she said, "My name is Loveless, by the way." She looked at Izusa with wide eyes, ready for anything she would tell her.

'Interesting name..' Izusa said faintly, as she wend her way between trees, keeping her wings tucked close against herself so as not to catch them. Her tail tendrils skipped almost merrily in her wake, kicking up leaf litter and dirt as she moved. 'I am Izusa...I am the first.' she spoke over her shoulder. The little filly neednt have worried about being attacked. Izusa kept her contempt mostly for non-Kalona's, she was especially eager to meet the strange new one that her daughter had told her about - Usd - Usdia? She was distracted and cursed when she walked out into the sunlight again, blinking hard. 'Follow..' she said again, turning and walking towards the river. The sun was quite high, so it was likely that anything furred and small would be taking shelter but there was a possibility of catching something taking a drink.

"I guess my mom named me after her, I like it." Man, Izusa was fast! She was creeping through the forest like a pro. Loveless was scrambling to keep up to her as well, having a hard time with her little legs. SHe looked for signs of her tail, so that is how she knew where to turn and run. Though, the whole experience felt exhilarating, and Loveless was just happy to follow another who was so strong.
Izusa. She would remember that name, especially since it was the first other Kalona that she had ever met. Her parents had warned her and scolded her to stay away from Kalonas, but why was that? Meh, maybe it was just worry, she thought. She needed to focus on what she and Izusa were doing for now.
She tried hard to show Izusa that she had no fear herself, and he kept her dark body silent as they crept through the forest. It would be stupid to speak, especially in case something was around that they could catch.

Izusa stopped, there would be little cover from here on to the river and she wanted to listen and scent the air before going any closer to the water. She could hear it now, the sound would help them as it would cover anything that her little novice did. She repressed a snort as Loveless mentioned her mother again. Izusa might not have succeeded in instilling a bloodlust that matched her own in her children but she had not shied away from the task either. And as for the filly's prissy father.. 'Silence.' she warned and then; 'Stay.' she commanded, moving out from around the thick girth of the tree, and clipping quietly through the thick grass, making sure that her hooves placed as noiselessly as possible.

She was glad she was quiet, it seemed Izusa also wanted silence to surround them. She did what Izusa requested, and stood where she was. She peeked around to try and see what was going on, but felt blank at what Izusa was thinking. Was there something over there? Loveless didn't have good enough senses to tell, yet. She only felt excitement flow through her body, and it was a nervous sensation. She wondered if hunts were always like this.
