The kalona mare mooched around again, kicking at the sodden grass with a hoof tip, the mud squished between the cloven split. Izusa was bored, the Villagers knew to avoid her now, and she hadnt see hide or hair of the new Kalona. Had she dreamt that there was another Kalona? No, she wasnt like that; wasnt a foolish daydreamer, prone to hopeful whims.
But she did walk out each day looking for the colt, that she had been forced to admit to herself. She had looked forward to seeing him, and had not yet. So what would she do? She knew that Yzma had her own business, the little vulpine familiar had gone hunting, and was often scouting around for a mate..something Izusa firmly believed that she would never do. She didnt do that romantic stuff...as she was thinking this she passed Ardia, the brown mare decorated in flowers. She knew this mare had become a companion to that fool human she had first found herself with...and she also knew that this Ardia had found herself a mate, having witnessed the two together. The stallion was a fine one physically, Izusa had seen, but was so smitten with Ardia that it was sickening to watch. She snorted, watching Ardia jump as she did so, and clipped onwards, snickering in amusement.
It was a pretty day as she moved off into the meadow, her wings spreading under the warming sun. The ground was moist still though from the spring rains, and she clipped a hunk of grass, chewing it thoughtfully as she watched the clouds drift along the sky. What was this feeling? Was she lonely? That couldnt be...and she took to wing, beating the air hard as she flew away, trying to leave her confusion behind with the ground.
