Shinoma landed heavily, tucking her wings away. She was pleased that her injuries had healed fully and there didn't seem to be any lasting damage; indeed she flew as well as she'd always done. She'd been forced to spend some time with her mother, it seemed that her father still hadn't been by to see Izusa, and so her mother had slipped into one of her episodes, ranting at her daughter and demanding to know if she had a mate yet, if she was happier than her 'poor old mother'. Shinoma had bit her for that, which seemed to snap her out of it and taken her leave.
Now she was away, far away as she could get without having to leave the lands she patrolled, as she would be damned first if she'd let her mother do that to her. Sometimes, though this was a thought never to be spoken, she almost felt a sympathy for her half sister.
She went hunting after that thought, looking to lose herself for a while in death and blood. Sometime later she could found sprawled under a tall oak tree, chewing on the carcass of a resting deer that she'd startled out of the undergrowth.

Xelloss prowled hungrily through the underbrush. He didn't often hunt idly and this time was no exception. He was hungry, pure and simple. He relished some aspect of that simplicity. He didn't have to worry about psychological methods and choosing the perfect target. What he had to worry about was whether his target would taste good.
His dark form gave him camouflage as he continued on his hunt. It was too bad it was the wrong season to find a fawn. He found the young animals to be the most delicious. They were so full of possibility, of life. To take that possibility and to devour it... well, that was a powerful experience indeed.
Xelloss smelled the blood only the instant before he stepped into the open... and saw the source of the smell. A kalona lounged there beneath a large tree, though perhaps kalona was the wrong word. There was something about her... the way the shadows danced at the edge of her figure as if they were part of her form.
"My my. Please pardon me." He executed the apology flawlessly. He was quite capable of politeness and in fact was usually polite when he wasn't being actively irritated. "I seem to be intruding."

'You are.' Shinoma looked the stallion over in a lazy fashion, one of her cloven hooves resting on the carcass, though there was little left, as a sign that she wouldn't brook him taking what he hadn't earned.
'Whether or not it's an unwelcome intrusion remains to be seen.'
She moved the hoof, sliding it off the bloodied remains, leaving a streak of crimson across the grass as she stood. She looked at him again, first impressions weren't entirely favourable but maybe there was more to him than how he looked.
'And what can I do for you then?' she asked, a faint smirk on her face.
