To say that Aurora's christmas eve had gone badly was like... an understatement. Her attempt to drown out her loneliness for her family had failed horrible in a hail of catfighting bitchiness, and instead of feeling warm and happy.. she'd gone home feeling all the more lonely for the boys back at home. Sure they fought too, sure it would have been nearly as chaotic had she been in her home kitchen with brothers running willynilly throughout the place.. But it was a different kind of fight. Bickering of little consequence.. rough housing that.. will it could lead to momentary tears was always soothed over in the end. Because they all loved each other. Despite men's horribly crappy ways of showing it, they loved and adored each other. They were.. a family.
Not the horrible venomous fight that had occured in the kitchen. Not the absolutely hurtful and uncalled for bickering that had slung back and forth with no intent on apology or care. It still stung... all the soft jabs at her cooking skills. She still shivered at the horribly aggressive way the brunette had flung back her words of worry. It was horrible, and as Aurora buried herself beneath her sheets, she tried to block out the events of the evening, praying that tommorow.. Christmas day would be better.
------
It was fairly early when Aurora woke up, the sun just an hour or so north of dawn. She listened to christmas music as she bathed in beautiful peppermint scented bath salts, pulling on a red dress and long black boots, hanging holly shaped barrettes from her long braids as she peered in the mirror. Atleast she was festive. Perhaps the town would be too? That is, if everyone wasn't off with their own families celebrating.
Gathering a few boxes from her room she made her way tentitively back to the kitchen, and upon finding it empty began to disperse some of the remaining goodies. A box for Mili, and one for Rea and Eve, one for each of her neighboring dormmates, one for the home ec teacher, and one for her dance teacher. Boxes filled, she gazed at the remaining cookies and bars thoughtfully. No point in them going to waste…
Boxes delivered before the front doors and offices of their receivers, Aurora returned with the biggest basket she could find, one that had once been full with all sorts of delicious spa treatment goods. A cloth was laid inside, followed by the remainder of the easily portable sweets, which were then covered again. The pies and cakes were moved together to take upstairs later, the counter cleaned. And as the clock began to chime 9am, Aurora was pulling on one of her fur lined coats and pretty sets of gloves and out the doors of the school, basket held between the crook of her arm.
The streets were fairly empty, the park a silent and snow covered wonderland. As she neared the city however, she finally noticed the movement and bustle of a few people about. “Merry Christmas” she proclaimed as she approached the first, lifting the cloth to reveal the sweets hidden underneath. A skeptical look was received, the man continued by, attempting to ignore her. She sighed lightly, but tried again. This time a success. The mother and children offering a friendly thank you and merry Christmas in return.
And so she spent her afternoon, peeking into stores that were open, offering sweets and warm wishes. Dallying back and forth down the sidewalks meeting people that happened to be out. She left quite a few with a young pair whose dirty clothes made evident their lack of home. Even a stray dog got one.
It was late afternoon when finally her basket was empty, her cheeks cold and red but her heart at the very least was warm. Even if yesterday had sucked… today was a good day, and it was late enough now to call home. Home for the holidays.

Dear Diary,
There is something going on for me right now. Something extremely important, but extremely secret too. Only it isn’t something that is safe to write about in here. I almost wish I could… just so there would be a record… so my dad would know what happened, god forbid something ever happens.
In anycase, I have an assignment I have to do that requires a lot of planning and thought. And since you’ve always helped me figure things out best, you are in for the drudgery of my work. I need to think of the best course of action for drawing people in, for rallying them, and for then keeping tabs on the project and the other individuals in it.
~ Drawing people in
It’s easiest (and most successful in the end) to draw people in that are interested in the same things. Perhaps hanging out in places that the sort of people I want to meet would hang out is a good first step. And asking friends. Meeting two people, that each tell two people, that each tell two people quickly leads to great numbers. Of course, then we need someplace for these large numbers to meet. Written correspondence isn’t bad.. but there is the need from now and then to work together and meet all at once.
~ Rallying them
This seems a little silly to write about. General public speaking skills I suppose. Strong, optimistic, and helpful tone. Offer ideas, solutions, and room for others to have opinions. State and explain the problem for others. Come up with solutions together, but always have a backup.
~ Keeping tabs
This is the most difficult thing I think. Regular meetings could occur to discuss progress and plans. These can easily become tedious and hard to juggle around schedules though. More constant and easy message system would be nice. Maybe via cellphones? But not everyone has cellphones, or carries them around all the time.
