-Di..gi..tal camera. So convienent and quick. So simple that they made versions of them for 5 year olds. And yet somehow the device seemed to illude the technologically slow Aurora for anything other then the simpliest point and click. Eww that sucks, delete delete.

Poised on the sidewalk below just beginning to blossom dogwood tree, she stared at the camera as if she were looking at college level calculus. She KNEW there was some way to adjust SOMETHING so that the flash would quit going off and washing out her already brightly daylit pictures. Just how.. she wasn't sure.

Fiddling with a button, she blinked at the menu that popped up, instead beginning to spin the dial. Ughh.. the homework that should have taken her 20 minutes tops was going to take hours at this rate. Sighing a little she continued to fiddle with it, shifting in her position with a mild smile. Atleast the spring day was nice. Not to cool, not too warm.. the gentle breeze ruffled the edges of her calf long skirt and clacked her long braids quietly together.-

Spring is truly the best season to go jogging. Perfect weather, not too hot, not too cold. Everything is coming back to life. Look, these trees were so pretty people stopped to take pictures…
… wait a minute.
Alessa stopped trotting several feet after going past the white-haired girl. Slowing down, she stared at the girl behind her, bothered by an unexpected flash. Somehow, she was familiar, and her inexistent sixth sense tingled. She seemed busy, but that didn’t stop the brunette from approaching her with a curious look on her face and ask politely: “E-excuse me, you’re reminding me of someone… have we met?”
Hadn’t she seen that exact hairstyle in a TV show? Or something like that? It’s always awkward not to be able to pinpoint such details right away.

-Her hair, her intricate and mostly unique hairstyle. It was something of a conversation starter at times, sometimes a grand soother in the way it allowed her fingers to fidget and unbraid and rebraid the small braids in moments of restlessness, and sometimes.. like now it was a sudden hinderance. Though Alessa perhaps looked a little more average.. a little more like the general populous of Destiny City, Aurora was quick enough to recognize her. The brown waves.. the glasses.. even the waves of energy and heat being exuded from her jogging was something like the pent up bounciness of the girl she'd met at the theater.

One did not forget someone who helped save you. And one did not forget strange debacles like shoving gifts on random strangers before fleeing the scene. Her eyes widened in soft surprise. Would she recognize her? She'd forgotten about the camera pressed between her fingers.-

"I believe we've exchanged pleasantries before on the street. Or maybe in class? Do you go to Crystal?" -The words slipped out normally enough, but if Alessa was even half good at reading people, it was fairly obvious from her face she knew darn well alot more then she was saying.-

An eyebrow was raised as the brunette searched for a worthy reply. It didn’t come to her right away. “No, no, I’m not at Crystal, but…”
Hesitation, more hesitation. It was right on the tip of her tongue, but what was it, exactly?
Without a warning, her dark eyes went wide in en epiphany. “Ah! Oh my gosh!” she exclaimed.

The genre savvy should not have started worrying at that point, nor those who knew Alessa.

Relief came fast with the following sentence. “You were at my birthday! Of course!” Her mouth went agape as the recollections of that day hurried into her mind. “Someone told you to give me the Tarantino package! Oh dear, I should thank you, that was my best gift of the day” she explained while moving her hands thoughtlessly in excitation. Even though she didn’t think that girl was directly responsible for the idea, she wanted to make sure she was properly congratulated. “I-I hope I’m not disturbing you! Oh gosh. Do you… do you remember who told you to give me that? I don’t have the slightest clue who did it.” Actually, she was oddly attracted by the “secret admirer” option, no matter how unlikely it was. As she became a bit less calm due to the sudden rush of memories, she failed to notice much more about Aurora's attitude other than she must have had a clue about the whole even. Hopefully, she wasn't ashamed at having had any actual contact with a Meadowviewer; she'd heard bad stories about such snubby girls.

"Ohhh.. of course, I remember that now." -And there it was. The other girl, Alessa, she'd realized and recognized. Aurora hid her cringe in a onesided smile, but it slowly widened as the other girl bubbled. She really looked and sounded like an incredibly exciteable puppy, she almost expected her hand waving to become little bounces on her toes.

She felt a sudden wave of pride though when the other girl mentioned how much she loved the present, thrilled that she'd done such a good job with so little to go by. When the girl asked the question, peering curiously through her glasses, Aurora pondered for a moment, placing the hand with the camera on her hip. It wouldn't hurt she supposed.. to tell her where.-

"It was one of those sailor scout things, you know, the ones they call terrorists on the news." -She always added terrorist.. always afraid she'd sound too sympathetic and someone might catch on.- "One of those girls stopped me while I was walking by your place and asked me to take it in."

"Very strange yes?" -She smiled, hoping the other girl would believe the story. It was believeable.. right?-

Naivety wasn’t exactly the brunette’s most important flaw. Her judgment was ordinarily reasonable.
Ordinarily.
This time, the story she was given fit the (admittedly crazy) mental scenario she had had in her mind for a while. One of her brow rose, as she recited a short list of characteristics out loud, with an underlying scepticism that was shrinking with each word. She wrongly attributed the cringe to the logical embarrassment of being associated in any way with someone publicly considered a “terrorist”.
“Not so strange. A terrorist? Was it someone, like… with white boots? White gloves? Tan, with long white hair? About your height?”
If Aurora had doubted the power of the glamour any time before, she’d just gotten the confirmation it was extremely strong. That, or she could as well have deduced Alessa David was extremely dense.
“Please tell me that’s the person! This is… someone I need to find”, she replied as an awkward justification. Pretending she knew Polaris well wouldn’t benefit anyone here. “Ah, I must sound silly, but I’ve seen her once, just once. Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t help her or anything. It’s complicated. I can explain.”
She’d rather not pass off as the accomplice of a Sailor.

-Oh god. oh god. Her heart seemed to skip a beat, her breath caught so tight in her chest she was afraid it'd never exhale and leave. Would she not believe her.. was she about to be caught.. or even recognized?

She exhaled, a sigh of absolute and unadulterated relief.-

"That sounds exactly like her." -She nodded, lifting a finger to her lips as she lowered her voice for a moment.- "Find her though? What for?" -As soon as she said it, she shook her head, realizing how entirely suspicious and nosy it all sounded.-

"Anyway don't worry, I won't tell on you if you don't tell on me" -She lifted a pinkie lightly, she hadn't done a pinkie swear since grade school. Nonetheless her she was..-

It was Alessa's turn to sigh in relief and speak without restraint. "Thank God, you know who I'm talking about! Oh dear, what are the odds I'd find you like that, while jogging?"
Then she remembered the very topic could be considered very suspicious (and even more so, when you remembered she basically lied at the police and blamed a small case of amnesia so that she could avoid giving any information on the Sailor), and the volume of her voice synchronized with that of the pale-haired girl.

Seeing the pinky, she smiled brightly, in remembrance of her own promises she made back in the time, promises she never broke. She felt like she had just found a trustworthy ally. She raised her own hand to complete the pinky swear. "I don't know what's your opinion on those "Sailor scout" persons", she whispered with confidence, "and I don't know if that's what they all do either or not, but..."
Her voice became hesitant, though still had jolly undertones. "… this girl, she saved my life. I think. Maybe she is a terrorist, but I want to at least thank her for that, but, well, tracking down these people is basically impossible! So, I owe her something important."
It was the first time in months she had the occasion to share her secret. A fraction of that weight was lifted from her shoulders.

-Their fingers interlocked, lifting upwards and then downwards in something of a shake before Aurora released her pinky.

And then she almost slipped. Her mouth almost opened with incredibly incriminating words that even the most naive would have put together. But somehow she caught herself, pursing her lips to keep the thought sealed in her head. You saved me too

The girl was just so sweet.

One night on patrol.. maybe she'd have an occassion to stop by the girl's apartment and make good on the girl's wish. Say her own set of thank yous.

Bowing her shoulders in lightly she whispered back.- "I can't guarentee I'll see her again of course. But if I do I'll definately pass the message along. I'm sure she'd be happy to hear what you have to say."

Alessa's face shone with genuine happiness for a short instant, her cheeks bright with a red glow as she released her own finger. “It's so funny, don't you think? In such a big city... it's a small world, after all.” Again, her lips formed a relieved and grateful smile. One less thing she had to worry about.
There was a short silence before she dared speak again. “I... don't know if you'll see her again, but I hope we do. I was glad to meet you... what was your name again?” The sudden rush of emotion blurred her mind, and she wasn't sure anymore what she or the other student had said minutes before. “The name's Alessa. I'm at Meadowview – did I tell you that already? I'm not sure – and I come around here often for a daily jogging when the weather allows it.” Her blush faded slowly, as she regained her composure.

"Most definately a small world" -She nodded in immediate agreement to the statement. It'd been the same thing she'd thought the day she'd happened by the sign proclaiming the familar name's birthday party.

Her brows lifted a bit as words began to spill out, ending in a sort of amused smile when the other girl had finished.- "Well nice to officially meet you Alessa, I'm Aurora. Aurora Namid"

-Lifting the digital camera, something she probably would refer to as an 'infernal contraption' if asked, she shook it a little.- "I'm doing a little homework myself, but I tend to pass through the park pretty often too."

“Oh, you need to take pictures? That's an interesting homework. Pictures of what?”, remarked Alessa, before asking her favourite question: “Is there any way I can help?”
She'd started jogging in place without even noticing.

"We have to make a photo collage of some sort and then explain why we paired together certain pictures next to others" -She prattled off the assignment matter of factly. A little strange for an english project, but it wasn't a bad assignment at all. Atleast not for people who could work a camera.

She'd noticed the girl begin to move again, as if her body were trying to convince her to 'come on come on come one!' and gave her a sheepish smile in return. She really should just let her go but... she had offered.- "I really hate to keep you from your running, but if you knew how to turn the flash on this things off real quick.. you'd be a real life saver."

-The answer was so easy that Aurora looked downright pink when all was done. Giving her thanks she waved softly. One day they'd have to meet again, definately.-
