User Image Sailor Polaris, senshi of magnetism, warrior of justice in training could be called many of things. Determined, enthusiastic, driven, adequetely decent at youma dusting, and even a happy and willing ally. Quiet however, was one of the things she was not. Nor was she particularly great at not leaving the place totally trashed.

The crash, clang, BANG of metal hitting and crumpling against other metal and the pained screams of something... obviously not human echo'd through the dark streets. Had it come an hour earlier.. at the strike of midnight when everyone else was celebrating, perhaps it would have gone unnoticed. Maybe people would think it was just a bunch of rowdy drunks, or maybe people would be too drunk themselves to even care. She could hope atleast.

Attempting to slow her breathing to a more normal pace, legs still spread in the ridiculous stance she'd set them upon calling her attack, Polaris simply watched as the large mass of black youma puffed into harmless dust. The clang of trashcan lids, hubcaps, and tin cans clattering to the ground, caused her to grit her teeth.

She was a little tired from the battle, but pleased nonetheless at a job well done. Sucking in a deep breath of cold night air, she fixed her bangs and braids briefly, before a sound escaped her, a taunt as if she thought someone really would here her. She was pumped after all. A youma double her size, taken out all alone. She was getting better at this.- "Looks like another win for the senshi and loss for the negaverse"

Good grief, the girl was making a horrible racket, if he'd ever heard one. It was really no wonder he'd been attracted to the site of the battle, still in his uniform, his hand clutching the starseed of a man he'd been able to ambush previously that night. It'd been easier than normal, really - most people seemed to be indoors, or at some kind of party; it'd be rather irresponsible of the man to have been walking the dimly lighted streets alone.

Rhodizite had been ready to call it a night after he'd succeed in retrieving the human's starseed, but the racket in the near distance had attracted his attention. Curiosity had filled him and he allowed himself to get a closer look from the safety of the shadows. He'd managed to catch sight of a big portion of the battle, leaning behind a nearby tree. The senshi in question didn't seem to have any sort of tracking attack and she was alone. Not to mention tired out from her battle with the Youma she'd encountered. Normal he didn't like to charge into battle without a well thought out plan, but in his humble opinion, it looked like a rather good opportunity; the senshi was tired and she'd been using her attack rather relentlessly (hell, she'd probably been using it before he'd arrived on the scene), which probably meant she was not only worn out physically from the battle, possibly mentally. He wondered if she could handle another battle.

Her attack seemed to have some sort of effect on metals, which was a bit annoying, taking into account his weapon was a chain, but he thought that he could use that to his favor too.

Stepping out of the shadows from behind the tree, Rhodizite came into the light, the starseed no longer in sight, probably stored away somewhere, "You make a godawful racket when you fight," he said rather casually to her - there was no sarcasm in his voice, and no biting remark. It was almost as if he were talking to some random person about the time or weather, "I think you might want to work on that - you might attract unwanted attention," and that said, he pulled out his bone and chain, looking at her in an attempt to figure out a good opening so he might make this as clean and fast as possible.

-Her breath was cut short in surprise, posture shooting up by instinct. Had the voice been feminine, she would have assumed within a second that it was Magellan, the senshi of insults. But it was decidedly male, and she turned, a displeased look touching her features as she expected to see another sailor scout like Thuban or Castor. Alas... even to the only mildly experienced senshi.. this was not a good guy.

Good guys didn't have such dark and scary costumes. Her eyes lingered for a moment at the bones that decorated his person, body tensing as she watched him pull another one out.-

"How do you know I'm not doing it to lure you guys in?" -She asked, trying to hide the surprise under something a little more intimidating. She planted her feet, lifting her hands as if she really planned on trying to use them. Polaris REALLY didn't want to fight another solider alone, the last time had gone badly enough. And goodness knew how many of her kind had been hospitalized. Astrea always said, and she always reiterated to others, stay in groups.. and here she was.. alone.-

"My friends could be just in the wings waiting to ambush the first negacreep to take the bait."

-Maybe he'd buy it. Maybe it'd freak him out. Yeah.. just like maybe those bones belonged to all the people and senshi he'd slaughtered in the past. No no no. Don't psyche yourself out!! She scolded herself inwardly, trying to take inventory of the metal junk still lying about the area.-

"Oh, I know as much because what I've been watching was utter chaos. No one plans for utter chaos - you can't help your attack being noisy," for an 'evil' persona, he was being fairly pleasent. His stance was tense, ready for action, but it seemed he wasn't playing the superiority card whatsoever. In fact, it looked like he was being horribly careful and taking in his surroundings as he spoke, "Besides, I've been watching the fight. I know you must be rather tired, and you had absolutely no way to know I was there in the first place."

In all honesty, he too should have been working in pairs, what with the Zodiacs running amok, not to mention Kunzite. He'd been warned, but he had not yet found a partner (he wasn't all too used to teamwork) and he was confident he could make some sort of hasty retreat if the waters got too warm. For now though, he felt he had the upper hand, and the opportunity was just too good of one for him to let go.

"I sincerely doubt that," he drawled softly, "I was watching the whole scene, and any team mate of value would have come to help you destroy that Youma. You were struggling," and it was then he finally charged forward. He kept the bone in his hand, but tried to maintain the metal chain behind him, hoping he'd move too fast for her to notice it was metallic - if he used the element of surprise, he might be able to bind her hands with the chain and immobilize her just long enough to snatch her starseed.

-She almost whimpered as he casually brushed her words away, obviously not buying even a cent worth of what she was selling. And when she heard he'd been around watching her? Ugh.. she could have been dead! If he'd just jumped out while she was consumed with the youma.. her confidence was melting, her hands dropping from their aggressive position to something more subconciously defensive.

She didn't have very long to dwell on it however, because suddenly he was rushing her. It didn't matter if she was upset.. embarrased.. even tired. She just had to make it out of the battle.

The senshi stepped once, twice to the side, leaning down only long enough to grab one of the old hubcaps. She wished she was a sports star.. not a dancer. There was no real time to aim as he drew dangerously close. Polaris chucked it at him like a wobbley frisbie. It probably wouldn't even hurt that much, but maybe it'd distract him enough to give her time to put distance between them again.-

He'd been hoping to catch her by surprise, so when the girl moved to throw the hubcap towards him, he clicked his tongue over his teeth in frustration. Unfortunately for him, her plan worked - if mildly at least, because Rhodizite was forced to slow down, the chain he'd been hoping to keep hidden till he was just a tad closer snapping out of it's hiding place to be used almost like a whip against the projectile in an attempt to divert it's trajectory. He had no time to change his course of action though and even though the damned lid graced him (he'd only had time to divert most of the impact), he continued to rushed forward.

It was clear, however, that he'd been annoyed because now the chain was in plain sight and he had no time to pull away and rethink his attack. He had to continue forth and hope that it would still work, "Your bones," he told her with a hiss as he launched the chain her way, aiming to wrap it around one of her wrists, "Will shatter."

He was going to have to change his damned line, because it sounded corny as all ********, and he knew it. That was something to ponder back home though, not now.

-Things were a mess, and the chaos of it all.. really was working against the poor tired senshi. She was well aware that she wouldn't beat him in a foot race. She was tired.. and even with super senshi speed.. her thigh boots often worked against her. So all she had left to do was attack right? But could she summon up the energy to use her magic already?

It was his words that finally snapped her out of her fog, adding a little clarity to the situation. Of all the things she was.. Polaris was also a total ham when things were going well. So maybe.. maybe it'd help her get back in her grove. She stopped, streching her arms in front of her.- "That's what you think bone boy."

"I'm Sailor Polaris, and I will repel this evil before me! Magnetic Field!"

-Around her the metal bits of debri began to rise into the air once again, shivering with energy as the prepared to wail themselves at the Lt. And just at about the same time the sting and pressure of metal hitting and tightening around her right wrist caught her attention, eyes widening as she watched the chain begin to shiver too.

Oh no. No no no!

Whether he pulled on it or not, his chain would be coming back to him now, dragging a senshi in tow with all the other junk. She yelped as the metal dug and cut into her skin, trying to plant her feet and push back against it. Her shoulder ached like it was being yanked from the socket. What was worse.. fighting it and ripping her freaking arm off, or going with it and potentially being a prisoner and/or shield for her own attack?-

Huh. Apparently luck was really on his side today - he hadn't planned for his chain to wrap around her wrist just as soon as she'd started her attack (in all honesty, he was surprised she still had energy to call on the attack once more, he had to give her that much). Rhodizite wasn't about to make poor use of his luck though, and with a yank of the chain, he tried to force her forward and towards him - he wasn't planning on using her like a shield (though she HAD set herself up for the task, no matter what he wanted), and wasn't planning on torturing her.

In fact, he planned on taking the moment's chaos to steal her star seed; swiftly, efficiently and as painlessly as possible, "Well, Sailor Polaris," he drawled as he yanked the chain nearer and nearer his way, preparing himself for the final blow, "It's been a pleasure, but I'm afraid this ends here," it was hissed as he finally reached out towards her, aiming to turn her around and plunge his hand into her back.

Sadly, the pose he was trying to hold, plus the fact he was doing his best avoiding the projectiles that she'd lifted off the ground... was making the whole 'yanking her star seed' a terribly frustrating business. Even though his hand had gone into the darkness, he couldn't seem to find the sodding thing. In his defense, it was hard to dodge, hold the senshi with the blasted chain AND fish around the dark void.

-Between the tug of the metal and his own rough tugs it was too much. She skid forward, dragging her booted feet, fingers tensing first and then loosening as it seemed as if all the blood had been drained from the poor apendage. She attempted to kick at his shin. Anything.

A flying can stung her calf, another something grazed her side, but the true pain came as a hand suddenly dug deep into her. Cerulan eyes fluttered open at the strange sensation, body bucking in surprise and sheer instinct. Wha.. what was he doing!? Wh.. why.. Polaris screamed, a loud and piercingly feminine sound. Who would even hear her though...

She struggled against the 'assault', but was so tired, her body on fire. Atleast the chain seemed to be loosening, the last remnants of her attack hitting the pair. She was lucky she'd even remained henshin'd. Her eyes were fluttering shut. He was going to kill her... atleast she hoped. Better dead... then corrupted.-

User Image Serpentarius had just got back in from her own patrol around the school, for once glad that it was a calm night for her. Pushing her hair from her face, she take one step up the stairs when she heard the scream. A female screaming?

"Oh you have got to be kidding me..."

This better be someone getting hurt, and not a girl who saw a bug. Turning in her boots, she dash down the hallway towards the scream. The whole time praying that this wasn't another fight. She didn't want to fight, in fact she hated this part of being a scout more then the skirt.

Just as she would have rounded the corner, she saw her. The girl from the other night, Polaris. With a man hand in her chest? Was she really seeing this? Was this one of those Negacreep?

She really didn't have time to think, not from the pain coming off of Polaris's face. Without a second thought, she holds her hands out "SERPENTS KISS!" the green glowing snake forms and flew through the air towards the man's shoulder. Its jaw wide, ready to bite down the moment it makes contact.

He was almost there, he was sure of it. It had to be there somewhere, and yet the more he searched, the more frustrated Rhodizite became; he really did not want to return and have to explain he'd lost a Senshi's starseed because he couldn't quite find it. It was a lame excuse even in in his mind.

So focused on his task was he that he barely registered Serpentarius' arrival. At least not till the girl shouted out her attack, "s**t!" he murmured under his breath, his eyes snapping to try and gauge the situation from a strategic point of view. There was no doubt he was at a disadvantage, but he couldn't bring himself to give up when he was that close to success. His hand brushed against the priced seed and just as he was about to close his fist around it, the serpent's glowing form came in contact with his shoulder, forcing him to recoil away from Polaris' body with another hissed curse.

At first, nothing happened; aside from the initial contact, strike and pain, nothing else seemed to have been achieved by the attack, however, just as Rhodizite began to prepare himself to counter the blonde senshi, he noticed his body was not responding like he'd have wanted it to. In fact, his body was not responding at all, period. He was frozen in his position, and all he could do was watch, though he did manage to settle his face into a heated glare.

He'd been so close.

((I wasn't gonna post again, but what the hey. I'll do a wrap up so you guys can use it for your growths :3 If either of you want to toss in final posts though that's cool))

-It had been so cold... so dark, every will in her body to buck and kick subdued by the magic that swept over her body when his hand had gone in. She barely registered the arrival of her savior, only moving when finally and suddenly she slipped from his grasp, falling to the ground with a thud.

Her chest heaved with exhaltations of mixed relief and terror. Her heart fluttered like a hummingbird and she was quite frightened would burst out of her chest and escape. When she was able to she stared at her enemy above her, seemingly statue still.

Serpentarius had wrapped her arms under Polaris', lifted her from the ground and began to tug. Her booted feet had begun to move even as her eyes stayed locked on Rhodizite in the slowly gaining distance. Even away from him she could feel the fear ebbing at her.. as if frightened he'd break from his trance any moment and have her once again. It was time to escape, Polaris.. was clearly in no shape to fight. Sometimes you just had to take the clean getaway. Luck didn't often come along twice in one day.

But one thing was for sure.. Polaris would forever be grateful to her blonde savior.-

Rhodizite could barely move a muscle, and he was forced to watch as his prey was stolen from him before his very eyes. However, that didn't stop him from narrowing his eyes a notch, fixing his red gaze on Polaris' as she was tugged way.

She was going to get away because he'd never seen the second senshi coming, but if he ever met her again, he would be sure to be on the look out. Fool him once, shame on them; fool him twice, fool on him.

By the time the paralysis wore off, the two senshi were long gone. Frowning to himself, he flexed his fingers in an attempt to wear off remmants of the strange spell, then he turned around and walked away from the scene; at least he still had the couple of normal star seeds he'd gathered earlier that night. He'd jumped into this fight without a plan and he'd paid for it... it would not happen again.
