-Aurora's Namid's mouth was hitched in a soft downturn as she made her way down the familiar sidewalks away from Crystal Academy. Usually she made an effort to conceal those sort of things: good posture, pleasant smile, you never know when someone else would look your way. But today she jus wasn't feeling it.
She was exhausted from nights of crimefighting, achey from the strain of street battles followed by classroom dance lesson, and her mind was fixed on something. Brooding even.
It seemed like girls at Crystal were always chattering about boys left and right. Many of them were even slipping out for dates and parties. Certainly not ladylike.. certainly something Aurora herself should not desire at all. And yet... No no. Teenage boys were holligans and ruffians. All after one indecent thing. But then.. she'd met some pretty nice guys... Azzo... Skip.. perhaps even Marlo? It was all so confusing.
Aurora had for awhile now been able to push aside the thoughts, to convince herself that she was far too busy for dating. But then she'd seen Melody and Azzo tracking youma together... and had heard of Sailor Europa and her boyfriend patroling together! She could no longer deny it, the jealousy lapping through her body like a fire. Her frown deepened.
Aurora Namid needed a boy and she needed one pronto!-
((I figure the best way to start the conversation would be for Aurora to run across Selena reading a romance novel. Feel free to put Selena in any open place you think she'd likely be reading and I'll move Aurora there! Park, bookstore, library, grocery store, whatever XD))

Selena made some odd sounds - she had one in particular, where she vibrated her tongue against the roof of her mouth to create a sort of purring sound. She didn't know how she did it, and she couldn't describe how to do it to other people. She just...could. Right now the girl was making the exact same noise, in a contented manner, as she curled up on the park bench, head in a good novel. And not just any novel - no. Her absolutely favourite, Pride and Prejudice.
Selena was a sucker for romance novels.
Elizabeth Bennett, had there ever been a greater role model for a girl? And Mr. Darcy, so suave and handsome, the two were just made for each other. But then life and everything else got in the way, and all in all it made for a thrilling read. No matter how many times Selena had read it before. Twenty-seven. Not that she was counting, or anything...

-The strong smell of young blossoms wafted over Aurora's senses as she continued along, cueing her in subconciously that the park was nearing.
The park was always a nice distraction. Almost whenever she left or where ever she went, she found herself trailing along one edge of it. And even for one so usually grounded and in a hurry it was hard for her not to pause and admire it from time to time. To watch the unfamiliar and lovely flora blooming.. to watch young children playing games of tag. Her eyes flicked over a girl sitting on the bench ahead.
She kept walking, her harsh expression fading lightly to a look of indifference.. or perhaps exhaustion as a grand sigh pulled the delicate and sweet taste of flowers to her lips and tongue.
Where was she supposed to be going anyway? She'd only now began to think about it, having stomped out of the Academy out of pure frustration. She didn't need anything really.. Which meant she was simply wasting the day... a harrowing thought to Miss Aurora Namid. Perhaps that is why her eyes fell once more upon the bench girl as she drew near. Took note of the relaxed and contented posture, the book propped in her fingers. THAT actually.. that seemed rather like a good idea. To lose herself in a book for awhile.. to forget about everything else. She'd just have to find something acceptable.
Her squinted eyes tried to make out the title. Pride and Prejudice. A classic. And yet.. not one she'd been instructed to read. Which meant one of two things. It was either of a higher reading level then they thought a prestigous Crystal sophomore. OR it contained something sensational, something entirely inappropriate for the girls. Perhaps it was the digs at proper society, the insinuation that anyone could be a noble woman and that noble men carried on in such horrid manners that'd kept it off the reading lists of her schools before. Aurora, however, assumed it was romance, torid and inappropriate for young ladies. The idea was certainly helped along by the fact that that little bee was in her ear already. Her curiosity got the better of her.
Pausing a few steps from the bench, her voice lifted in a soft hum, attempting to draw the girl's attention before she spoke.- "Any good?"

Selena didn't even notice the girl stop just in front of her - she was too engrossed in the book. Too busy reading about Miss Bennet confessing her love at last, moving in to embrace Mr Darcy in a passionate kiss...
Aurora spoke and Selena looked up, blinking in surprise as she looked to her right for the source of the voice, before her eyes finally settled on Aurora, surprised expression replaced with a warm, friendly smile. "Ohhh, I love it," Selena gushed, smile spreading open into a wide grin, "It's my favourite. So romantic, so passionate..."
She realized she was getting carried away, cheeks turning slightly pink, "Have you read it?"

-Just as she thought! Trashy romance and smut. Why one would be okay being caught with something like that in public was beyond her, the girl even looked like a sweet and gentel enough sort to be a proper lady....
It was the enthusiasm that put the sudden lid on any of Aurora's judgemental and unfounded thoughts. The soft color in her cheeks, the width and sincerity of the smile. Oh how she wanted that... craved it even with how bleck her mood had been that day. It was infectious and she wanted to eat it up. She streched out a hand to the other girl, reciting a polite greeting.- "Sorry for intruding on you. Aurora Namid"
"I haven't though, I'm afraid. The books we're made to read are a bit more.. dry. Academy views on romance are a bit different from the norm I think." -Like.. not necessary. How many rich girls actually married for love after all? Surely a good number of them married of convience or obligations. No point in promising the girls fairytale romances when they weren't likely to happen.
Her smile was sheepish as she leaned in whispering her 'grand secret'.- "I know and have read about as much about romance as I have nuclear physics"

Selena smiled sweetly at the girl, shaking her hand as it was offered, before returning it to the book, holding it in place as she neatly replaced her bookmark in between the two pages she was currently reading, before placing the book on the bench. Selena loved her romance novels, but she wasn't one to be rude when introducing herself. "Selena Adams. Aurora - that's such a pretty name!"
It was unusual, but not in the same sense as those ridiculous celebrity names. Apple, Mango, heck she was sure she'd heard talks of a Pineapple...but no, Aurora was pretty. It suited her, too, with her dark skin and pale gray hair. "And it's no trouble. I've read it enough times." Her surprise was clear, however, when the dark-skinned girl admitted that she hadn't read to book. Her mouth fell open and she stared at Aurora for several moments, in perhaps a slightly childish manner that was typical of Selena. "You haven't read it?!" she pretty much squeaked out, unable to form proper words. Ohhh, she went to Crystal Academy? Were they really that...that strict? "That's horrible!" Selena gushed, pushing herself up from the bench to stand, and place a hand on Aurora's shoulder in a comforting manner.
"It's a classic, and certainly nothing for them to worry about tainting your minds with. It's a story of romance, which isn't anything to fear." she explained, the words just tumbling out as she reached behind her to pluck her book from the desk, holding it out to Aurora. "Here, you can borrow mine."
She was so horrified by the revelation that she was expecting Aurora to go home and read it straight away. As for her lack of romantic knowledge, Selena merely gave a wry smile. "I can help you there. Going to Crystal Academy in itself is a challenge - I don't know how you girls cope without any boys in your lives."

"Thank you. I was named after the Borealis, you can see it quite frequently back where I'm from. Selena is pretty too." -There was something pleasing to the mind and ears of names that played so heavily on the vowels, that rolled off the tongue, both of their names actually did it fairly well.-
"Ohhh but! You're right in the middle of it" -Her face formed one of those surprised looks, mouth making an unnatural o shape eye brows rising. It wasn't that she didn't want it, goodness her curiousity was perked! But really! Wasn't it rude to snag a book that already had a bookmark sticking from the pages. Her hands were out, if the girl decided to place it there, but she was hesitant to reach for it herself.
It her face had seemed strange enough from the surprise it went a step further to that of a deer in headlights as the wry smile and statement sounded. This seemed dangerous.. this seemed ever so naughty.. and yet she stayed stuck in place, eyeing the other girl curiously. She was the master of romance it seemed and Aurora was intrigued.- "I believe some of the girls smuggle boys in sometimes. For.. you know... I'd be happy enough just you know... getting a boy to look at me" -Her voice had fallen carefully low, as if she'd forgotten that they were out in the middle of the park.. in the middle of the sidewalk.-

Ohh, the Aurora Borealis? Selena smiled, sudenly quite interested. She'd never seen it, only heard about it and seen pictures on the internet. "Where are you from, Aurora?" she asked, hoping she wasn't being too nosy, "I bet it's so beautiful up close..."
Right in the middle of it? Selena grinned, giggling a little to herself as she shook her head, pressing the book forwards into the girl's hands in a insistant manner. "No, take it, really. I've read it a million times and more." she insisted with a friendly smile, trying to reassure the girl that it wasn't a problem at all. She wanted Aurora to read it, wanted to share the most amazing love story of all with another person.
It didn't take long for Selena to realize Aurora needed help. She might not want it, but the girl was going to give it to her whether or not she wanted it. Selena shuffled forwards in an attempt to hear better as the dark-skinned girl lowered her voice, leaning in. Some of them sneaked boys in? Well, she wasn't surprised! Girls had needs, it was cruel of the school to ignore them! "Honey, you're gorgeous," Selena assured with a warm smile, "I'm sure plenty of boys look at you, and you just don't notice."
She pondered for a few moments, before leaning in again to whisper to the girl, assuming the conversation was something she didn't want everyone in the park to listen to, "If you like, I can help? I can introduce you to a few of my friends, bring you to a few parties, y'know? I'm sure plenty of boys would love to get to know you, you just need to know how to respond."

-She beamed for a moment, true and geniune, even coming from another girl.. the bit of ego stroking and attention was just the thing she needed right now.- "I was born in Alaska. Lived there until I started highschool and started hopping boarding schools. I like it here though, so I'm probably going to stay here until I graduate" -Or until she found the moon princess you know.. but she couldn't exactly explain THAT to papa.-
"It is beautiful though! But then we don't get all the lovely flowering trees up there, so I've been enjoying that."
-Her fingers wrapped around the binding gently, motioning softly before she slid it into her sachel. She would take it.. and she would devour it in the secret sanctuary of her room. Aurora had been just about ready to ask about a way to contact her when she was ready to return it, but Selena was leaning in. Leaning in with a whisper that sent shivers down her spine.-
"R.. really?" -Her eyes were wide as she choked out the words, agreeing greedily, before she had the chance to think over her decision.- "If you really would then.. it could be fun."
"I would appreciate that" -She corrected herself, a look of gratitude on her dark face.-

Alaska? Selena let out a breath she wasn't aware she'd been holding, looking a little like a small child who was staring in awe at their idol. "That's...so cool," she breathed, with a smile that only grew wider. "I'm glad you're going to stay - DCU isn't exactly amazing, but I like to think we're pretty friendly."
No including the Negaverse and youma and all that rubbish. But maybe Aurora didn't know about that...and maybe she locked herself in solitary confinement in a basement. Yeaaaaah.
Aurora's gratitude was all that the dark-haired girl needed, lapping it up like a dog would water, enjoying that she felt needed. "Sure! I could come round yours beforehand, help you pick out a few clothes and stuff too?" Selena loved, loved, loved every single bit of matchmaking. She loved the getting ready, showing people which colours went together and whether something was too revealing or too modest. Educating them in what to say, then watching the first contact. It felt so satisfying, knowing that two people got together because of her involvement.
Reaching into her bag, Selena tugged out a well-loved phone, sliding the screen up to reveal the keys and hurriedly pressing a flurry of buttons before offering it to Aurora, "Type your number in for me and I'll fling you a text?"

-On another occassion she might have been intimidated by the fast and expert workings of the phone which quickly popped in front of her. But she was too high on cloud nine at the moment to care. Things had been so done and the sudden up just had her gliding.
She typed her number onto the phone with one finger, slower and a little more awkwardly then Selena had been, before handing it back.- "I'm pretty easy to find anyway if you need it back on short notice. As long as you have my name the dorm maids can give you my room number and the easiest directions there."
"Sooo.." -She paused a moment, before smiling again, already beginning to picture it all, or atleast a fairytale version of how it would all turn out.- "I guess it's a date then. Just let me know when you have some free time. No rush!" -Well.. maybe a just a little rush.-
