EVERY DAY LIFE

Food: Minute Rice [aim low] Hated Food: Communion Wafers [does this even count as food?] School: Sovereign Heights Dropout ══════════════════════════════════════════════ Hobbies:Night Life - He's not much of a dancer, not much on pool or darts, but Ever really enjoys the social atmosphere of a darkly-lit room packed-full with sweaty and frequently-drunk people. He also loves the fact that complete strangers will bump into each other and potentially start conversation, or buy each other drinks, or ask questions that would be extremely probing if they weren't so caught up in the booze and the atmosphere. As such, he goes out as often as he can, even if he's usually too broke to actually buy anything. Terrible Television - For Ever, television is a luxury, not something he gets a lot of, but it still sits in hobbies. He's fascinated enough by the novelty of it that he will make a point to stop and watch whatever is on. The baffling roar of a sport's game in a bar is amazing. Kids' television playing over booths in a cheap family restaurant is distracting. Movies don't have quite the same draw for him, but he'll sneak into the back of a theater now and then to indulge. Library Browsing - On a more day-to-day basis, he really enjoys a good book…and lo and behold, books are free. Ever will peruse the library and happily make off with a stack of books, frequently the things other people will find weird or boring: not just crap vampire novels but a heavy amount of Charles Dickens, Faulkner, Classical Mythology, and especially things with the potential of learning. He has more textbooks on his card than just about anything else. ══════════════════════════════════════════════ Physical Description:Eyes: A brown so deep that in most light it shows black. Hair: Snowy white and messy; a home-done haircut that is short to his head, wild and spiky. His hair is very fine. Face: His features are sharp and hawkish, his nose about a size and a half too large for his face, with a bend in the bridge from where it was broken once and never properly set. His eyes are somewhat narrow, almond-shaped. His mouth is slightly too-wide and usually pulled into a grin. Body: Ever is a stork: roughly six feet tall and seriously underweight, he looks stretched out, gawky, and off-balance, with long and skinny arms and legs, huge hands and feet, narrow shoulders and hips. Clothes: Second-hand and worn out, all from Salvation Army and Army Surplus stores -- cheap, well-made, old, strong, faded, and generally pretty comfortable. His boots are an ancient pair of black Combat Boots that, at this point, are largely held together with duct tape. He always wears a slim silver lightning bolt pendant on a long, black, ratty cord around his neck, though it might be tucked into his shirt. He also wears a pair of rather-geeky plastic reading glasses. They might make one think, 'Can you hear me now?'. He wouldn't get the reference.

UNDER THE INFLUENCE
═══════ The Negaverse ═══════  Negaverse Alias: General IlmeniteChallenge: What's your safe word? ...sorry, I missed that. Lieutenant Weapon: DUCT TAPE. It is so strong, swoon! And versatile, oh my! In this stage, it will be used as is: duct tape that trusses people up, or that can be pressed against skin to leave angry red marks behind, or the roll can be thrown as a bludgeon! DUCT TAPE. Captain Weapon: DUCT TAPE BOLAS. A long string of sticky duct tape with rolls at the end: throw them and they'll tangle in peoples' ankles, and a dose of magic can truss them up proper. General Weapon: MAGIC BOLAS. A bit fancier than his current weapon, but otherwise the same -- except for the magic. When he hits his target, a touch of magic kicks in and they bind the struck limbs [either legs or arms] up tight. They tighten and cannot be removed for 20 seconds. Uniform Colors: Black, green and gold, potentially with spots of white mixed in, and the shimmer blue-grey of that most mystical of material: duct tape. Why the Negaverse? If you can't be good, be bad. If you've already lost your way, it's not worth going back. Besides, the bad guys have all the fun, don't they? Since he's already considered evil by the teachings of his parents, lazy by the consideration of most good, hardworking people, and generally useless, it would not be a hard step for Ever to take all the way into the Negaverse. It would be all the easier if there were someone there to play nice and nudge him in the right direction. One mistake feeds easily into another, and it's easier to give in than fight it. Once he's thrown himself to the wolves, he'll protect and support them to the end.

NICE TO MEET YOU
════ Personality Traits ════ Virtues: Knowledge is there for the taking -- Intelligence implies a certain level of effort and comprehension that Ever doesn't have. Rather, he is sharp; when he reads a book, he learns from it, and when he's taught something, he remembers it. His education is spotty, highly-religious and focused on more elitist subjects like the Greek poets, Latin, Bible study, long division and great American classical authors, but in these areas he has a wealth of knowledge to draw on. Add to that a hunger and fascination with weirdly-specific areas of knowledge, and Ever is smart. In a useless way. Never be afraid to say 'hello' -- In the modern day and age, a lot of people seem to be afraid of first connections, of greeting strangers or striking conversation with people they don't know. Ever doesn't suffer from this affliction. If someone looks interesting, he will say something. If he's interested in knowing more, he will simply ask. If a conversation piques his interest, he will carelessly butt in. He usually does this more like an elephant than a snake, charging forward instead of elegantly insinuating his way in, but it serves him well. Better to have people think you're a jerk than to be left out. I don't need much -- It's a good thing he doesn't, too, because he couldn't afford anything more. Ever lives largely out of a small handful of belongings, and never really craves much more. He is not a man who is focused on luxury -- give him minute rice, ramen and freedom over fancy french dining and being tied to a desk any day. He is nomadic, hopping from one place to another, sometimes mooching off of friends or strangers and sometimes struggling to make ends meet, but it doesn't matter because he likes that. Let's see this fight through -- While he doesn't offer much that is tangible into relationships, Ever is willing to throw himself into the fray if his friends need the help. He isn't much of a fighter, but he'll endure a few black eyes for something that he deems a good cause, and he'll take them without so much as a word of whining or protest. 125 pounds of pure skin and bones, but at least it's 125 pounds that isn't afraid of being broken, that will always stand up instead of backing down, for good or for ill. ══════════════════════════════════════════════ Flaws:YOU watch what I say -- Ever says what he thinks, with very little mental filter between 'thought' and 'words'. He'll point out serious flaws in a careless manner, will make nasty comments about truly personal matters, will insult or flirt when really he'd be better off keeping his mouth shut. He is a jerk, cynical and sharp-edged and snickering in a manner that leaves people cold and angry and gets him into a lot of trouble. At least I'm a fun leech -- Any friends that Ever makes will quickly come to realize how one-sided the relationship is. Yes, he's interested in them as people, but that doesn't prevent him from using the hell out of them. 'Can I crash on your couch for couple nights' will turn into several solid months of staying at someone's house before he finally gets bored, moves on, or is thrown out on his a**. He never has money. He never takes the bill. He rarely cleans up around the house, but at least he rarely makes a mess, either. He never can keep a steady job. "Puppet" is a cruel word -- While he might think that he's the one pulling the strings of people around him, in truth Ever is easy to jerk around. He likes people, no matter how cynical and mean he can be, and needs to have people around him. He's likely to put his trust in a flawed stranger rather than be alone. It makes him pliable, willing to follow someone else's lead, morally flexible, and frequently unexpectedly naive. Pop what now? -- In many ways, Ever fits right into the 21th century: short attention span, loose morals, loud music and night life. In many others, though, he's absolutely clueless. He's never owned a computer, and has no idea how they really work. He doesn't know how to drive a car, and finds the experience of being in one both thrilling and upsetting. New movies tend to slip by him, as does any music that isn't blasted loud in clubs. It makes it hard for him to be self-sufficient, since simple everyday things like ATMs and the internet leave him baffled.

LEARN FROM THE PAST
════════ Family History ════════ History:In quick summary: Ever was raised in a somewhat-large, extremely-religious and conservative family. He was the fourth of five children, was brought up on the Bible and God's word, home schooled and taught in a limited manner. At 18 he finally made the decision to go away to proper schooling, and the exposure to more modern life was a shocking slap in the face -- especially since he'd had uncomfortable thoughts that went against his beliefs for years. It was here that he discovered he was closeted and tentatively took a step out. Word travelled home, and he was neatly cut off from all funds, suddenly unable to afford any more schooling after only one semester away. He was summoned back home to safety, but at 18, was under no compulsion to go. So he didn't. Instead he stayed in the city and overcompensated. A tentative step into modern culture and away from the protective, sheltered world he'd grown up in turned into a full plunge until he was well over his head, tossed about from one place to the other. With no marketable skills, this meant living on the charity of strangers or near-strangers, friends and lovers, sometimes seizing on a brief job here and there and moving on when a home became too uncomfortable. Three years later and he is still in the same situation, but with a somewhat-jaded and cynical edge to it, and with most of his old beliefs not only tossed to the curb but entirely overturned. This is rebel youth at its finest. Completely screwing up its life at every turn. ══════════════════════════════════════════════ Family:Julian Ambrodiel: Father. Conservative both politically and when it comes to money. Never particularly hateful or hurtful, but never loving or affectionate either. He and Ever were entirely different creatures who never seemed to share common ground. Now they will likely never speak again. Adelle Ambrodiel: Mother. She and Ever always got along best, but she was soft-spoken and somewhat shy. Any acceptance he might have gotten in her eyes went unvoiced. Martin Ambrodiel: Brothe. The eldest, at 26, he has already entered into the field of construction near to home. Big and hugely obsessed with football, he always was bigger than Ever, and never understood the inclination toward books. Allain & Devin Ambrodiel: Brothers. Twins. Both 23 and looking toward the family business, they were too close to each other and too near in age to ever include their younger brother. Perhaps some of their teasing was meaner than it needed to be, but it was never terrible. Just absently, off-handedly indifferent. Renee Ambrodiel: Sister. The family's baby, the youngest, trailing Ever by a good seven years. She was unexpected, both of her parents certain they could no longer conceive, but certainly not unwelcome as their first girl. She is bright and sporty, if a bit chubby. Currently homeschooled, and potentially cursing Ever for ruining her chances at higher education.
