Alunite was out there, powered up, mentally bitching at his uniform and hair, and trying to collect energy.
Trying was the keyword, really. He knew that he wasn't technically required to do it, but... He felt awkward watching Fluorite bust her a** while he wasn't doing much for himself.
It wasn't working out too well for him - this really wasn't a good spot for easy energy gathering, so poor Alunite remained crouched on top of a store building, watching people pass by without knowing how to get them out of sight, really.
And well,... The whole idea made him a little queasy. The parallels in between Fluorite's explanation and what had happened to him a few weeks back hadn't escaped him, and while he was the living proof that energy gathering wasn't fatal...
Well.
Still awkward. Maybe tonight just wasn't meant to be the night.

Ilmenite had taken the promotion to Captain to heart. He might not have been good with responsibility, with being where he needed to be when he needed to be there, he wasn't necessarily someone you could rely on -- but he certainly didn't mind going out at nights, nor any circumstance that involved meeting new people.
Add to that Zink's ever-present need for more information, and it meant that he took the time, now, to focus on the touch of strange energy signatures at the edges of his senses, the rough and unpleasant scrape of nearby senshi, the more familiar and companionable sensation of Negaverse officers....
This one was strange, not quite one and not quite the other, and he poked at it like a loose tooth for a while before finally caving in to approach. The temptation to teleport was strong, just because he could, but the ensuing weakness and exhaustion too embarrassing to follow through.
Instead, he came up the fire escape, peering over the edge to see who it was.

Something was coming. Alunite tensed.
Not senshi, through. Like him, but also not quite. The aura that pressed against his sense was a type of darkness he was slowly getting used to - a negaverse agent. He relaxed slightly when he finally identified the aura, moving to stand and look at the newcomer.
"Hello... ?"

"...huh." Amazingly purple hair; that rang bells in Ilmenite's mind, but he couldn't figure out why that was, exactly. He peered across the roof at Alunite for a moment, eyebrows pulled together, before he hauled himself up and over the top, settling with a little bit of a bounce. He didn't have any pomp, any elegance...
"Was just stopping in to say hello, I guess." And to check out what was going on. Dark eyes flitted past Alunite to the movement below, curious -- neither introducing himself nor looking too concerned about turning his attention away from the senshi.

Amazingly long purple hair. Alunite would be the first to inform the newcomer that it was a b***h, and that, no, he hadn't picked his uniform. At least so far no one had made fun of him.
Too bad he had yet to see any female corrupted to see how he was actually lucky to be more or less covered from head to toe.
He fumbled with his sleeves a bit, before speaking again. "You would be... a captain, right ?" Not a lieutenant. The aura was stronger than Fluorite's. "Im Alunite." no Sailor. He saw no need to tack that on.

Considering his new recruit status, Alunite was actually lucky in all sorts of ways. His uniform covered him, wasn't too uncomfortable, and wouldn't hinder his running too much: definitely an improvement over what most of them got. Though those sleeves...
Dark eyes flicked back up onto him, and Ilmenite offered an easy sort of grin. Friendly, there was very little intimidating to him, beyond the height and the aura -- and even those were offset by his relaxed posture and bright expression. "Yeah. Ilmenite. What the hell are you doing up here?"

It was a good thing that Ilmenite didn't mention that out loud - because Alunite would have said something among the lines of goddamn skirt, and leggings being a little tight in the wrong places.
That felt into Too Much Information, though.
"Just looking." He admitted. Was he going to get a talking to for slacking ? Egh...

"Why here?" Shoppers? Really? They were the worst kind of target; usually wore themselves out anyway, tired and frustrated, on edge from fighting with lines -- or even just working their way through rows and rows of grocery stores...Ilmenite shook his head a little.
"I mean. Uh. There are more interesting areas you could be hanging around..." If Alunite was in uniform, presumably he was doing more than just looking. Unless he was trying to recover lost memories too. Ilmenite made a sound and added on, with that in mind, "I mean, more interesting people, too, that you could be checking out."

Alunite couldn't help but wince a bit at the sound of that here - that... obviously wasn't such a good idea on his part.
Drat. Through...
"Really ?" He asked, eyebrow rising. "I haven't... Well, I was told not to worry about energy for now, but I don't want to just... sit on my a** and do nothing, you know ? So im trying to learn."

For a long moment, Ilmenite just stared at him -- obviously working to process that, confused, considering the mess of grumpy shoppers below. Then it clicked and he shook his head, smoothing a hand up over the back of his hair and consider how, exactly, to address that.
"...it's not hard. Any idiot can do it. I'm really good at it." He grinned, careless with the implication that he was the best of 'any idiot', and shrugged a little at Alunite, creeping over in his direction.
"However, I wouldn't suggest trying it around here. Might be personal preferences, but I like to find people who are a little, uh." A wobbly so-so gesture, a quick shrug. "Well. Drunker."

Drunker ?
...Well. That made sense. The obvious - Alunite had missed it.
"I see..." He clicked his tongue a bit. "I guess that's why my sister hangs around bars so much..."
Yeah. He definitively didn't sound like someone with a memory lapse.

"You, uh. You want to come with me?" Ilmenite shrugged, shifted; his tone was maybe a little too gentle, used to Lyra's confused, vacant expression, her uncertainty and unfamiliarity with strangers. To Alunite, not nearly as clueless, it would probably come across as condescending, and Ilmenite wouldn't even realize. He was trying to help, that was all.
He nodded, quickly, back toward the fire escape. "We can find a loner or something. Have you hit anyone at all?"

Ilmenite's demeanor was confusing - confusing, and mildly irritating. He was new to the negaverse, not born yesterday !
"Look, there's no need to babytalk me, okay ?" He muttered. "Im new, not an idiot, even if I look like one. Alright ?"
Though, yes, it would make more sense if he knew the logistics behind it.
"Yeah, sure." Irritating, maybe, but the truth was that he didn't quite like being alone. Not yet, not when he had little idea how to fight, though he would need to learn.
Having a captain for the evening didn't seem like such a bad thing.
"I hasn't hit anyone yet." The corrupted senshi started scaling down the fire escape with no hesitation howsoever - it was the way he had come up from, after all.

Ilmenite blinked at the reaction, genuinely surprised, maybe a bit taken aback. It left him standing there and blinking after Alunite, trying to figure out if he should apologize -- and deciding not. He was terrible at apologies anyway. No chance he'd give into that uncomfortable little urge.
"...uh." He stood where he was for a moment and then, frowning, took off after the senshi. He was almost annoyed that it had been taken the wrong way. "Well, I mean, this is all pretty new to you, isn't it? I mean. Things should be...strange? You seem relatively new..."

"Well, it's only been..." s**t, how long had it been ? "A few weeks ? Maybe ? Time and me never got along."
He landed on the pavement, and took a few steps away so that Ilmenite could have an easy landing in turn.
"It is a little strange." He had to admit. "Not only that there are forces from space invading, but that im supposedly one of them ? I dunno, man, do I look like a martian to you ?" Alunite did look a little baffled at that. "Though even with what little I've seen of the miniskirt brigade so far, I think I dodged a bullet."
No s**t.
