He paced, tapping his fingers, crossing and uncrossing his arms as he waited. It had to be going well, no it had to have gone well, surely they were done by now... he had to have impressed her. Please god let him have kept his mouth shut, please don't let him have irritated her again.
He took a deep breath and made himself stop pacing for a matter of moments before he started again, he ticked off thoughts one after the next in his head, things that should go right, things that might go wrong... then on to what he needed to do to help get the others to their own captaincys... Selenite, she just needed to show she could handle herself well in a few more fights right?
Fayalite? Little work on the social and trust levels perhaps, she had to learn to trust more people in the 'Nega Family', had to be able to lead a team...they could do it. All of them could do it... they were all parts of a team he could be proud of, one he could rely on.
Ever... god though please don't let him have said anything that would get him crushed into a wall...

Ever didn't know how to watch his mouth -- so the fact that he wasn't bruised ten ways to Tuesday, bloodied or battered, was pretty much a miracle. Tanz must have been in good humor, or perhaps being a General Queen made it easier to take the small things in stride.
He was still in uniform when he came pacing up on Zink, but instead of the ringing sound of heels-on-crystal, now his steps were quiet and easy, comfortably-worn soles gentler against the stone and on his feet. They were also more practical, like the rest of what he was wearing.
Whatever had happened, he grinned when he spotted the tiny General, a tired and still-strained expression flattening out to something calmer, his shoulders squaring. Zink had obviously been worried, and he'd get s**t for it once Ilmenite got over to him.
For now, he was trying to do it quietly. Sneak up slowly, taking advantage of his amazing new footware.

Zink's head snapped around towards the sound, not so much expecting ever as just being far far too paranoid. A blink as he registered what he was seeing, and then the grin could be made out even through the thick fabric of his mask. "Congratulations... Captain."
The jitters and the fidgets brushed away in a heartbeat, a blink, just enough time to realize that what he was seeing was real.
"...Good to see you actually got long pants this time, and without heels!" he chuckled and nodded.

He'd only made it about halfway there before Zink heard him. Disappointing, but he grinned anyway, swallowing up the remaining distance with several very long, stretched out strides. This was private enough that his hands went immediately around Zink's waist, his head tipped down just a little.
"No more duct tape, though, hm?" It wasn't hard to make that teasing, hinting, and with the adrenaline still running through his system, Ilmenite ignored the fact that they were in Negaverse subspace, in uniform no less, and with Tanz not that far. He tipped his head down for a kiss anyway, not quite scooping Zink up off his feet.

"So sorry, you'll have to find another way to tie up Senshi..." He taunted with a smirk behind the mask before starting as he was swept up into the kiss. He let it happen for a moment before bopping Ilmenite in the shoulder and wrenched them both out of the Negaverse and out of the probability of being seen.
Purple crystalline walls were replaced by concrete, a sharp wind cut through 'windows' that overlooked the water from quite high up.
Below the sound of cars passing and a boat in the harbor.
"Next time...you want to be romantic keep in mind that it's still...fraternization, and that I STILL have issues with public... what's your new weapon Captain?"

It hadn't even been that public -- and Ilmenite stood reeling a little at the other end of the teleport, his head swimming just a little. The promotion followed by that, still a new sensation and one that churned his stomach some, left him much less likely to snatch Zink up into another bout of 'fraternization'.
It also kept him from arguing that 'fraternization' was a stupid word for what they'd been doing. He'd never had the urge to jump any of his brothers like that...
Ilmenite made a noise, releasing Zink's waist slowly, blinking himself into focus. "Oh. I don't really know."
But he could show, and he did: summoning the thing from nowhere to dangle from one finger, duct-tape covered ends swinging loosely around his arm.

"... So much for no more duct tape!" He said but he looked impressed.
"...Better than my Captain weapon... at least more practical." He reached up to bat at them and then stopped himself chuckling.
"You can teleport too now, It's easier than it sounds, just very tiring."
He reached out and tugged at the lapels of Ilmenite's coat and then sighed.
"Did I offend?" He asked carefully. "...You can have your own team now... I think you'll handle it well."

Zink tugged and Ilmenite made a noise, leaning in slowly, letting that pull draw him down to steal another kiss. They were somewhere private now, somewhere superiors wouldn't barge in and give them a hard time. Not that Ilmenite cared, but if Zink did...well, if Zink did, he'd cut it down by half. Not all the way, but half.
He lingered, this time, bolas rattling against Zink's shoulder, a light bounce. He made a sound as he lifted his head, licking his lips just a little bit. "...I don't know what I'd do with a team..."

"...Teach them?" He hinted taking a deep breath and letting some of the tension out of his shoulders. "If I can take on a team I'm sure you could... You're more confidant than I am... though I -expect- you to keep reporting to me."
He reached up and smacked lightly at the bolas. "Looks like you need to start practicing with your new weapon too... might not be so easy to tie someone up now... though I should offer you SOME form of celebration I suppose. After all you're the first person I brought into this... and you just made Captain!"

That got another grin, thoughtless; it was good to see Zac [or Zink, then] excited about something. It was contagious, even chased away the lingering memory of the worst pain ever, the throbbing fire of Tanz's fingers, the pulse through his body...
Okay, maybe not quite. He swallowed, expression wilted a little, and tried to come back into focus. "We should go out. I mean. Go around. I don't know. Maybe I should just go out..."
He'd never felt an itch for a fight before, nor the urge to lay people low. It was background noise, and so natural that he mostly ignored it.

"Out?" He tilted his head curious and raised his eyebrows. "Uniform out or..." he waved his hand toward the city and its teaming humanity, the lights of cars making rivers of glow between the tall buildings, late night workers making patchwork of the tallest buildings.
He paused to tap his fingers of where he knew Tanz's had must have been moments before, half of him envied her ability to so 'raise them up', but there was little he could do about that.
"Pick your poison Captain... I'm sure we can make either work."

"I don't know." He nabbed Zink's fingers, though, blinking down at him again and trying to reach some kind of decision. The suggestion that they stay in, instead -- out of uniform -- was strong and barely smothered as he absently wound their hands in together.
"Mmp. I'm okay. It's just energy, it'll...fade. If you don't want to, I mean..." He shook his head at that, shrugging just a little and forcing his shoulders to relax a little bit. "You could show me how to do the teleport thing. That would be useful."

A tentative pause and he shifted his fingers before lightly weaving his with Ilmenite's at the finger tips.
"Consider this one of the very few nights, that... so long as we're out of sight I'd be willing to 'roll' with quite a lot... pick your poison captain... tonight is, for the most part yours... and we could always teleport somewhere close to...where we elect to be, that's always good practice. It'll feel like you went for a long run though as a warning."
He himself already felt like he'd jogged up a few flight of stairs having pulled Ever here, but the high winds and cool night air helped assuage some of that.

"So...so, well, okay. We'll go back to my place and see if we can scare the s**t out of your sister." And then show off. The idea left him grinning again, a sudden expression this time, brightly amused by the idea. Of course, Sabine wasn't home -- he'd be disappointed -- but he could still dream.
"I'm guessing you're going to say something like 'imagine where you want to go and focus, right?" His fingers shifted against Zink's before he slowly released his hand, sighing.

"More or less." he said amused. "Though I admit it can be hard in a panic, remember too that the further you teleport the more taxing it is, If you tried to teleport to say...China, I suspect you'd be dead if or when you ever popped out." His tone went very serious when he said that.
"Hence why I was VERY nearly stranded on my sister's -planet- when she was still on their side...though I don't think I've filled you in on that. Later perhaps when she won't over hear alright?"
He tilted his head one way and then the other at the sigh, was it in regards to the teleport? Or because he himself hadn't been decisive.... perhaps it was the 'apartment'...
