What the Negas Know
Two weeks ago, six of their own were captured by the Blood Moon Court, a new faction of senshi. The details are sketchy, pieced together, sparse. Before this, the BMC had never been identified as any sort of threat, if an individual even knew anything about them at all. After scouring Destiny City, the Negaverse has determined the general area where their comrades are being kept. General Tanzanite crushed Captain’s Dioptase’s communicator crystal, allowing the Negas to find the exact warehouse where the BMC safe house has been hiding all this time. Two teams of rescuers enter the warehouse, but only Uranophane and Wolframite were found alive. Primase and Helicase are dead. The whereabouts of Tanzanite and Dioptase remain unknown.

What the Non-BMC Senshi Know
Very few senshi have any idea that the Blood Moon Court has captured Negas. The specifics of the BMC are not exactly well known in general, as most of their practices are kept relatively secret. It is possible non-BMC senshi have been questioned or attacked by a Nega who mentioned the missing six, or that they know someone who is in the BMC who has been particularly aloof as of late, but the majority of the good-aligned players will have absolutely no idea what is going on. All they know is that while walking around Destiny City, they sensed a massive gathering of energy -- largely dark with pinpricks of light -- and they make the choice to enter into the fray!

The area surrounding the Blood Moon Court safe house began to crackle with energy. What had begun as a small squadron had now blossomed into a full battalion following the destruction of Captain Dioptase’s communicator crystal. The battle swelled as a skirmish between the Blood Moon senshi and the Negas, but such a massive collection of positive and negative energy drew senshi, guardian cats, and knights from all over Destiny City.

The streets and abandoned buildings would be the setting. And the characters? They entered in droves and drips, raising hands against one another. There could be no peace between the White Moon and the Negaverse, not so long as they both fought for the right to live on Earth. General-King Marthozite had led the Negas here to rescue their comrades.

Uranophane and Wolframite made it out, scarred and beaten beyond recognition. The bodies of Primase and Helicase had to be carried. Captain Dioptase and General Tanzanite were still missing.

There was nothing left to do.

Peace was impossible.

It was time to fight.

THIS IS A FREE-FOR-ALL BATTLE THAT WILL BE INTERRUPTED BY GM POSTS AND PROMPTS PERIODICALLY. ATTACK ANYONE AT WILL! YOUR FIRST POST IN THIS THREAD WILL ESTABLISH YOUR CHARACTER'S PRESENCE... AND THEN IT IS TIME TO KUNG-FU FIGHT.

It was over, or so they thought.

Their captured comrades had been found, or at least those that lived, and the Blood Moon Court had suffered devastating losses as a result of the attack. After two weeks of torture, of wondering, of pain and loss and sadness, it was done.

Except that it wasn't, because some fights never ended.

Some wars simply could not be won.

People could scream and fight and bleed until their throats were raw and their limbs lifeless, but there was always a balance.

There must always be a balance.

As relief finally began to lighten the hearts of the Negaverse, as the joy of finding some of them alive began to overwhelm the pain of losing others, an explosion rocked the building. It was not fire. It was not air. It was not anything they had felt before. It was more powerful. More sinister. Far, far more foreboding.

It was energy, pure and dark and raw, and it rippled out like a shockwave. The building shuddered and shook, shaking stones loose from the ceiling. They had no choice but to run, to carry their injured comrades, to teleport outside if they had the strength. The building collapsed with a deafening crash, a secondary explosion firing rubble into the air as the gas tank was punctured. Flames sprang up just as the last of the survivors escaped. Amidst the chaos, every powered individual would feel it. They would feel it in their bones, and it was no less unsettling for the Negaverse as it was for the senshi.

They would feel it, and they would know.

General-King Marthozite had passed.

It didn't matter where you were that night.

Whether you were sleeping or not, you could feel it. You could feel it the first time, when the communicator crystal had been smashed, a wave of dark energy that rippled through the city. The old factory outside of the city sat at its epicenter. If that hadn't been enough to catch your attention, the death of a General-King certainly was.

For those already on site, it felt like a blast of dark energy. A sudden explosion of power that rocked the building and brought it down with a deafening crash. Secondary explosions followed as gas tanks were ruptured and pipes exploded, consuming the building in flames within moments.

You power up and run to the site, where rarely seen numbers of senshi and Negaversers pour out of the burning building. Others from within the city run up, alerted to the chaos. Some of the Negaverse officers are being carried by others, and some of the senshi are dragging out their unconscious comrades.

For a moment, there is an uneasy silence, save for the roaring fire.

Then, you remember

This is a war. This has always been a war.

And those people who stand on that hilltop?

They are the enemy.

Super Sailor Ares had barely made it out of the building before it exploded. She had been standing in a hallway, speaking feverishly to Birhan Isat, Gunn, Laocoon, Gaia, and Zirconia -- the Inner Sanctum -- about the status on all prisoners. Blood had coated and dried on her hands. Her staff still dripped with the life force of General-King Marthozite. In her frantic ramblings, she failed to mention how she had wounded him.

No, no, no, no, no. The prisoners were escaping. Reports had come in that the intricate boobytraps and failsafes that the Blood Moon Court had made live had been beaten. Sailor Albali told Ares that the Dread Sisters -- two of the most ruthless and difficult to control of their ranks -- had been killed. They had done their job and taken out Helicase... but it appeared that Wolframite had escaped. Next came Lyra with word that, while Primase had been dealt with, Uranophane had been rescued.

Then... the pulse of dark energy.

"We have to head outside!" Ares had shouted, curling one arm around Albali and the other around Lyra. She led both girls through a mirror, coming out in a side alley. The sound of weapons hitting flesh split the air. The three girls had just broken free of the alley when the ground began to rumble.

An explosion shook the building. Ares was thrown ten feet forward, lying face down in a gutter. She had a nasty gash on her shoulder, and her ears would not stop ringing. All around her, she saw the remnants of the Blood Moon Court slowly crawling out of the fire. And then the Negas -- they were everywhere.

Getting slowly to her feet, the Captain of the Blood Moon Court raised her torch high above her head and shouted, "NOW IS OUR TIME! FIGHT for your fallen comrades, Blood Moon senshi!" And then, her pitch rising: "FOR ROTA!"

And then Ares began to do the only thing she was ever sure of -- fight.

She hated the sensation the mirror walking caused. It was something she would never grow used to, it was too.... foreign to her. Too nauseating. Still disoriented after escaping the collapsed building, Lyra found the world spinning. Walking a single step away she too was flung from the building after the explosion, landed with a rather undignified THUD on her back. Breath escaping her the super senshi let out a squeak of pain.

But pain was not something she needed to be worried about now. No... the aura's of the senshi and the negaversers were popping up all over. She had a feeling this minor loss of oxygen was going to be nothing of what she felt tonight.

Tonight was a night for dancing with chaos.

Lifting herself off the ground she stood tall in time with her leaders war cry. "FOR ROTA!" She chimed in calling back.

She paused for a moment though, glancing around... searching for a target. She knew the fight was raging, but she learned from her past and learned that the patient bird catches the worm.

She'd felt it alright. Felt it and was suddenly grateful for the fact that Ares had chosen to take her through the mirror and out of the alleyway. Otherwise Einstein only knew where she would have been buried, thrown, or killed. Killed was the worst possible thing and the senshi was actually somewhat afraid. But she'd promised, hadn't she? Told Ares that she'd go wherever and if that was charging hell for leather into the center of a battlefield, that's where Albali would go.

Hopefully she could at least get by a stray senshi attack and be useful. Everything was raining down around them in fire and brimstone, mistakes made that couldn't be recovered from. Who had known that letting Tanzanite so near the dead Dioptase would be so dangerous?! None of them. Dead was supposed to be harmless but even in death these Negaverse bottomfeeders were a danger.

It was too much.

They'd managed to rescue Wolframite, to her great relief, but that hadn't been enough to rescue Helicase... Her heart ached and her blood boiled, knowing that they'd been too late, that their own had been ruthlessly murdered by these Senshi. If she'd had any question about being a part of the Negaverse before, it was all erased now. She wanted to fight these Senshi, to rid the Earth of them. Only then would there be peace.

Lieutenant Kazite clutched at her chest, her fingers gripping tightly at the grey fabric of her grey jumper dress, spinning around to stare up at the building she had only recently left, watching as flames shot into the sky.

And then... a giant pulse of energy that surged and disappeared.

Her entire body shook with rage, her jaw clenched tightly in an attempt to keep her from screaming. Her uniform was cut up and her elbows had blood on them from crawling through vents and being thrown to the ground, but that hardly mattered.

She wasn't going to stand around and wait for these Senshi to take over. She couldn't allow that. She would die before the knelt down before them.

Scheelite didn't emerge from the building victorious. There was no living form with him, no ally to support and be thankful they had rescued. Instead, he simply appeared outside, hunched over a rather destroyed body and humming like a madman.

That tune meant something. He would keep it alive for as long as he breathed and walked the earth.

Scheelite stood back up on shakey legs, acid eyes searching his surroundings. The building, the freaking insane place that it had been, was in ruin. He had to hope that everyone else had gotten out okay..and there hadn't been any more bodies to recover.

The blonde cringed, glancing back down at Primase. There was no time to worry about his own wounds even as the blood continued to flow from numerous cuts. It hadn't even occured to him to check his uniform, the top of which was simply tatters hanging on by more tatters.

No...they had to worry about the rest of the Blood Moon Court, and then he had to worry about getting Primase home. Ordering a rather scared looking lieutenant (wouldn't you be, if a captain covered in blood suddenly appeared with a body in several pieces?) to keep watch, Scheelite stalked off into the fray. Dioptase's song followed him, hummed on and on by the blonde.

By the time Lieutenant Zanazziite finished her vomiting she barely had time to scoop up her bloody weapons before she was teleported out of the building. She fell to her knees outside the warehouse, still a little shaky from beating the senshi’s head in. For a long moment she just knelt on the ground, staring blankly. The tears had dried up from her eyes, now wasn’t a time for tears. It also wasn’t a time to sit around in a catatonic state. That realization was the only thing that made Zanazziite push herself to her feet.

Gripping her antlers tightly she turned towards the building. What was going on in there? Were their people being saved? With a soft sigh she turned away from the warehouse, there wasn’t anything she could do for the ones still inside.

Looking around at those gathered outside the building she bit her lip. She could see the members of her team, and others surrounding her, but in that moment she felt completely alone. She wondered if anyone saw what she had did, she hoped not. It wasn’t something she ever wanted to think or talk about again.

A distraction came in the form of an explosion of dark energy quickly followed by the building literally collapsing. Whirling around Zan watched with wide eyes as the building came down. Did everyone get out? She could see some people running from the collapsing building, but she couldn’t tell who they were.

Turning away from the burning building she caught sight of a wave of incoming figures. The power signatures were mixing in her head, unable to gauge how many were senshi and how many were Negaverse. Standing a little straighter Zanazziite adjusted her glasses, this was war and she was ready.

Somethings didn't settle well with Sorrin, like the fact that he had an internal compass now that could sense darkness in large dosage. One minute your sitting in the garage tinkering with a busted go-kart and the next your gut was filled with a sensation of horrible dread, cold fire in the bottom of your gut.

"Ah crap, this isn't what I planned for tonight..." Throwing down his tools he grabbed his pen from his work box heading towards the origin of the darkness, a black beacon in the darkness. Something too dark to explain.

No longer was it Sorrin, but Hephaistos running towards the beacon, to the burning building. Stumbling into the scene he spotted Ares, and Lyra at least he wasn't the only one around anymore.

"What the hell is going on now?"

Hel meanwhile dropped down from the rooftops landing beside Schee and the startled lietenant. "Do as he say's or your going to have a really shity night." With that she stalked after her captain trails of ashes already starting to rain from her hands and feet. "Oh Captain my Captain. You should have called instead of letting me find out when half the town lights up with Senshi and Negaverse showing up."

Scheelite cast a glance back back at Hel both thankful and yet somehow annoyed at her presence. Thankful that someone had his back...and yet annoyed because it was someone else he had to worry about. Someone else he suddenly pictured sliced to ribbons and dead at his feet. The blonde's stomach did flip flops at that thought, but he fought back the nausea. Fought back the fear and anger and everything.

And just kept humming.

Keen gray eyes pricked on one Negaverse agent in particular. He was someone she recognized from before, from in Elysion when he bashed in a poor senshi's head with a guitar. Lyra had told her once that she should watch out for him. And now, there he was, carrying pieces of one of their prisoners.

He had been part of the rescue missions.

He had helped tear apart everything she had built up.

With a bestial roar, Super Sailor Ares flung herself at Captain Scheelite. The torch that still dripped with Marthozite's blood now came down in a high, bashing arc at the side of the blonde guitar-holder's head. Ares knew somewhere in her bones that she had destroyed a General-King. Her heart beat loudly at the thought of it, fingers jittering like a junkie who'd just taken a particularly strong hit.

But until she saw the mangled, dead corpse of General Tanzanite, she could not feel any sort of triumph.

"Not enough time to explain, sorrin." Lyra called over to the man as she recognized the voice, looking around once more. "Just do what we do best? Kick some nega a**." She smiled a moment before spotting something... a senshi with a dark aura?

....Talking to Scheelite?

...Another corrupted senshi? Oh well, this jsut caused her blood to boil even more. Corrupted senshi must be put down too, something that Ares had taught her once she learned of those tainted in darkness. So Lyra, taking off, headed straight for Hel with a balled fist aimed for her.

Marcella had been having trouble sleeping already, her dreams haunted by hollow eyes and disturbingly silent hallways, but this time it was something else that caused her to jerk awake tonight. Some sort of external feeling that pulled her suddenly back to Earth, and that was distinctly different from the distant echoes of explosions.

The girl got up out of bed and walked to her window, rubbing her eyes and half-wondering if Chaonis was responsible for this one, too. But as her mind finished waking up, she became aware of much higher concentrations of energy.

Something was definitely going down.

Marcella had things to do tomorrow, as she always did, but her gaze went immediately towards the set of hooks on her wall where she had hidden a small white backpack filled with first aid supplies beneath her collection of jackets and cardigans. She had been reluctant to power up recently, but this was not something she could ignore. What kind of Senshi of Medicine or student of medicine was she if she knew she cold do something and just sat by?

A few minutes later, Sailor Asclepius slipped from her balcony and made her way to the site of the commotion, her little first aid kit on her back. The flames were a good enough indication of where to go, at least.

PERFECT, because Captain Scheelite had more than a few things to say to Ares as well. He had heard the roar, but like everything else tonight he was just a bit too late to move completely out of the way. His movement saved his head, but the torch based right into his wounded neck where flecks of glass from Primase's guard still rested.

But Scheelite would not give Ares the satisfaction of a cry of pain. The blow threw him backwards, stumbling on already shaky feet to keep his ground. Still, there would be no cry, no show of regret or fear.

Instead there was only song. The one that Dioptase had started when Ares had murdered her before her fellow officers. That song of defiance met Ares' ears once more as Scheelite continued his humming and simply stared Ares down.

He knew a junkie when he saw one, and Ares was one that was absolutely dedicated to war and pain. For this brief moment in battle, he would not satisfy even that basic obsession of hers.
