Truth to be told, Ashley didn't even remember coming back down from Alkaid. She'd just curled up somewhere until someone (probably Spinel) came for her and got her back in Negaspace.

From there, she used the last of her energy to teleport back in her room. There were no visible wounds - she checked, out of sheer curiosity - but she still felt like she'd been steamrolled by a pack of wild senshi.

Not that far from the truth, really.

Eventually, she'd passed out in her bed, face imprinted on her pillow, and Elton flopped on her. It was a sight to behold, really.

Thankfully, her mother had took one look on the teenager-dog pile and had deemed her daughter was down with something - so she was off school, at least.

By mid-afternoon, the dog had moved but the girl hadn't - that is, until Gaga started sprouting german. Who.... ?

She reached blinding for her phone, found it after a few rings, and took the call.

"Yeah ?" The word came out half-muffled by her pillow.

"I want to go out, but I have no one to go with me." Another time, maybe Ashley would have appreciated the fact that he sounded like himself again -- assuming, of course, that Matthew had told her about the sulking Ever'd been doing for a while there. Now, instead, his tone was dry and faintly amused, his head cocked on the other end, checking the time. Ashley sounded too tired for three PM, still half-asleep, and he prodded at that strangeness instead of letting it be.

"Apparently you already went, though. What are you, hungover?" Not likely. The joke would probably rattle against Ashley's tired senses.

It took her a moment to place the voice, even, before her free arm went to lift herself off her bed, unable to repress a wince. "I wish. Pretty sure I wouldn't be able to feel a damn thing if I was wasted. This is starting to look like a plan."

A suspicious glance was sent to her open door. The house was empty... Her mother gone to work, most likely. She wouldn't notice... probably. But she didn't feel like moving. Booze. Comfort. Comfort. Booze.

Dilemma.

"I got steamrolled. Can't talk about it on the phone." The undertone was clear. "Im up for alchool, but not dancing. Jesus ********-" Another hiss of pain. "...Where did you want to go ?"

"I wanted to go somewhere with dancing and hot men and loud music, but if you're going to be boring..." He hesitated, floundered. Where could he take someone, hope not to get seriously carded, collect booze, but also have a bit of peace and quiet? His solution was probably near Sovereign Heights, pre-college but with people who still had some fun, and he chewed on his lip as he considered.

"I can find somewhere less fun, I guess."

"Sorry, darling. Try to send me an advance notice next time and I'll try not to get beaten up. Well, I didn't get beat up, but I felt it. Long story." Really, she hated talking job on a phone. Some paranoid sense that senshi might be listening, somehow.

She could almost hear the gears in Ever's head rolling, as she moved to retrieve a pair of jeans from the floor. It wasn't like Ever was going to give a s**t how damn pretty she was, and she was too achy to bother dolling up properly. "Don't worry about the carding. I can teleport." Pretty sure she could, at least. It had become one of her favorite tricks. "Well, at least as long as I've been where we're going..."

She made it sound a little too easy. Unless he'd heard about it, Ever probably had no damn idea Fluorite was a general now.

"Uh. I don't know if you do, but it's right around the corner from the McDonald's near the Sovereign Heights campus..." To Ever, that was a very distinctive marker -- he had, after all, spend a good few months there. Months in which he'd had very little social life, and fast food had been nabbed between study sessions. He'd known it better than the bars.

"Meet there in like twenty minutes, I guess, I just gotta get put together." And he was already moving on his end, snatching up nicer clothes. He'd hang up and get moving fast as he could. He couldn't teleport there, not if he wanted to be usefull afterwards -- and yet. It never occurred to him to ask her why she could.

"Oh, I think I do. The place that can't card worth s**t, right ?" Yeah, it was a little famous, through not some place she had gone to often. Wrong crowd, as it were.

"Sounds good." She had to take a shower, at least. Her hair were gross, really, and she was sure she could find sand in it if she looked hard enough.

She would be there when Ever arrived, waiting in front of the McDonalds, sitting on a park bench and picking at a thai salad with one plastic fork. She was obviously tired, and obviously sore, through there was no marks or wounds on her. She'd also gotten there rather quickly, if she'd had time to go inside and order.

It took him pretty much exactly as long as he said: navigating the subway, long enough that his hair was barely even damp as he approached the McDonald's. It was possible that Ever had been planning on grabbing dinner as well, something quick that he could devour on the block over. Seeing her well into hers -- well, it made him hesitate, stepping up in front of her and not-quite-pouting.

"You didn't even wait for me?" He was in a better mood, though. Much more himself, almost cheery in his comfort. Hands shoved into the pockets of his jacket, he looked okay. Still a little discolored around the eye, and his hair a shaggy mess but -- well. He was human, at least.

"You woke me up." One black plastic fork waggled toward him. "We're even. Beside, I didn't even know what you wanted, or what you even like. Im gonna need dessert anyway." She shrugged.

Yep. It wasn't like she'd ever been superbly ladylike in Ever's presence.

He didn't look nearly as wreck-like as Matthew had told her, which was good, really. Still, she figured he would bring it up if he wanted to talk about it.

The last bit of salad and chicken was eaten, and Ashley got up - wincing a bit. "God damn..."
PostPosted: Sun Oct 09, 2011 8:04 pm

"What, have you suddenly aged about thirty years?" ...wait. A moment. That math was off, Ever frowning as he took a step back, not offering her a hand. She would have objected anyway, he thought. And anyway, he was her friend, not her significant other; that wasn't his job.

"Make that forty years, actually." Instead, he started for the door in. She wanted desert? He wanted chicken nuggets. And french fries. He rooted around in his pocket to make sure he had two dollars to pull that off. "Even my dad never moved quite that badly..."

"No." Har har. "I told you. I uh." Not here, really. Not outside. The back of the fast food restaurant was pretty much clear at this hour, so she could explain there. Just would need to watch out for whoever was on cleaning duty.

Poor sucker.

"Let's get you your food first. Before you starve." She stuck out his tongue playfully. "It's a long explanation. I got to test out something. Work-related."

She was pretty certain Ever could see through the 'code'.
PostPosted: Wed Oct 12, 2011 8:35 am

The 'code' was more like a piece of cellophane held up to disguise what was behind it. As far as Ever knew, Ashley didn't even read. As he understood it, a teenager who read for fun was a very strange thing out in the real world, where there was television and video games. Not that he really understood it. Kids these days. Honestly.

He shrugged, making his way up toward the desk, shaking a handful of change into his palm. He had a one and a little over a dollar in change. That should be enough; he'd just give up on a drink.

"You could talk about it. Unless people work with us, they're not exactly going to understand, are they?" Or she could wait: the line short, he stepped up to the desk with a smile and shoved money across at the unhappy teenager behind the register along with his order.

"Hn." Well, maybe. Unless they were senshi.... And really, it was too sensitive to really risk it, as far as Ashley was concerned. It was what she presumed their first offensive wave on the surrounding, and if the senshi got wind of it...

Well, it would be a disaster. Thankfully, the line was quick, Ever has his nuggets, Ashley had her apple pie, and they were nestled into the nook all the way to the back where the girl found it safer.

"Pretty much, I was part of the experiment, kind of. I launched an attack, on the surrounding. I kind of... Used a crystal on Alkaid's planet to teleport a youma there and control it. The downside is that you feel everything the youma does... And I apparently landed into a spot filled with senshi. They don't hold s**t back against youmas, i'll tell you that... I feel like I've hit a semi." She muttered, taking a bite of her dessert.
PostPosted: Thu Oct 13, 2011 4:01 pm

"...hm." Ever prodded his chicken nugget into a packet of barbecue sauce and thought about that, considering Ashley across the table -- and just how s**t she looked, really. She was lucky that he didn't bring it up again. Well, not yet, maybe. There was still time, wasn't there?

"Why were you attacking it, exactly? I mean, it's not like we know what's going on up, there, right?" He shrugged, crookedly, and shoved the entire nugget into his mouth, chewing absently.

Well, at least he wasn't soaking the nuggets in it. She'd seen some people do that. Gross. Seriously damn gross.

"Well, that's part of the point. Try to gather information. See what the hell's going on over there. And hey, if I can wreck their s**t a little, try to delay their work until we're ready..."

"Through... Well." Her expression changed, then. "Sadly, im... pretty sure I found the civilians. There were civilians here... They didn't power up. They just thought it was a youma, they couldn't know I saw and heard through it..." Couldn't they ? There was no way to be sure. God damn.

"But there were a bunch of senshi, and I only got to see like... one building. Who knows how much there's up in there... And there was some sort of healing factor in the building I was in." It had been both a blessing and extremely, utterly, annoying.
