Hair ❂ Nuri's hair shade is a deep red, and is often wild and brushed away from his face. It is quite boyish and requires quite a bit of pushing out of his eyes.
Eyes ❂ Nuri has blood red eyes that are often the only way he expresses his emotions. Because of the glare and his reluctance for head gear, he uses a thick khol around his eyes to help against the sun. Even if he doesn't have a smile on his face, often his eyes will show his laughter and joy if he is around the right person.
Skin And Crystals ❂ Nuri has a rich dark brown skintone, which seems to accent his crystals when they are uncovered. Across his back, from shoulder to shoulder, he has a line of crystals that are pointing downward and vary in size and shape..
Other Notable Features ❂ Nuri has two thin crystals under right eye, pointing down like an arrow away from the eye, right along the cheekbone.
Clothing ❂ Nuri's clothing is functional, but because he is a nobel it does appear clean and crisp. It has since expanded to show his ranking in the army as well as his travels throughout the world.
Accessories ❂ Nuri loves his family, and most of all his younger sister. When he began his training as a Prentice, she gave him a favor of her favorite hair rope. It is a simple bead and fabric piece that is long enough for him to tie around his neck. He never takes the item off, and believes it brings him luck in his endeavors.
INTERESTS
❂ Training ❂ Nuri is obsessed with becoming a warrior, and as a result he often can be found in one of his favorite - and deserted - training spots. When he is especially feeling vulnerable or self-deprecating, he will fall into a training frenzy where he will push himself beyond his limits, resulting in him all but crawling back to his home. Finally, Nuri seems to have found his calling, and it has nothing to do with a weapon (although he will need to work hard to master a weapon in the long run).
❂ Fauna Tracking ❂ Nuri has found a connection with the creatures of the land. When he was younger, he often would peer at the pets that others had, and even risk moving toward the outskirts of the city to see the wild animals of the desert. Now that he is older, Nuri will take some time every so often to spend a day tracking the Fauna, just sitting in the lands and taking in every creature he can see. This passion and interest has driven him to consider being a rider, as he is quite interested in taming a familiar or two to have as companions and allies.
History ❂ Nuri is the middle child of a noble family, and as a result grew up questioning where he fit into the equation. His elder brother was set to be the heir to the family, and his younger sister is still being primed for an arranged marriage. Not quite seen as an heir or an asset, Nuri quickly looked at the land around him to determine what role would best suit his family. It was here where young Nuri determined he would become a warrior that would bring pride to his family line.
Nuri's family had a few Matori slaves as he grew up, and he saw them as an acceptable presence in his house, much like any sort of servant without pay. There was no question as to why they were there, or what their status was. But he didn't actively seek to treat them poorly, they just were the 'help' and thus were treated in that way.
Nuri was still not quite of age to begin his training as a warrior when the war began, and as a result was forced to sit with his family as others marched to battle. Upon their return, and defeat, Nuri felt lament that he couldn't be part of the cause, and often wondered what might have happened if he were a little older and ready to join the fray. Because of his upbringing, and the constant talks late in the evening of how the war would change the world as they knew it, Nuri did not question the motives. Instead, he saw his nation as a wounded creature in need of revival, and it only solidified his decision to fight.
In terms of Slaves, when the war began, and ended, Nuri was confused and uncertain about the change. To have them taken away confused him, but did not frustrate him as he wasn't the one paying for them. Instead, he observed the frustration his father and mother showed, as there was a lot of complaint. As a result, Nuri used his observations as motivation for his fight to get the old ways, not because he fully supported slavery as a concept, but more so because Slavery was a part of the 'old ways', and the 'old ways' were the 'right ways' from how he was raised. As they hired other servants, Nuri still looked at them just as he looked at slaves. They were a presence that shapes how he went about his day.
Now, as Nuri begins to contribute to society and hone his skills, he works ever harder to move forward and be seen as a true warrior. He is hard on himself and expects great things, and feels that soon there may be a calling where he will be set to march with the others. But for now, his focus is on his training as he works closer to perfecting his trade.

POSITIVE TRAITS
❂ Family Comes First ❂ Nuri grew up as the middle child of his family, and as a result has grown up trying to please the patriarch of his family. Although he may have been bitter when he was younger, Nuri has developed an adoration for his family, especially his siblings. His elder brother, the next in line, has always been someone he has looked up to and respected. His younger sister, still just a youngling, is the light of his life and he is often close to her side for protection. As a result, he often has a single-minded focus on how he can provide and be of value to his family. He works hard to please his father and elder brother, as well as protect his mother and sister. Sometimes, depending on the situation, he is even blinded by his love and devotion to the concept of family coming first. Since he is not the heir to the family like his brother, and not a strategic 'asset' for marriage like his sister, Nuri knows he must do whatever he can to continue to be of value to his father. That is why he determined to train as a fighter and protect the country. But lately, he has begun to question just how much his family is willing to give compared to everything he has given for them.
❂ Almost-Perfect Solider ❂ Because Nuri determined as a young age that war and battle would be the best way to make his family proud, he began to focus on being the perfect warrior. As a result, he forced himself to appear as a calm individual. He strives to appear disciplined both in his action and his emotions, and will do everything he can to keep that facade. Additionally, he is contemplative and observant of what is going on around him - he will focus on working out the best solution and try to identify everything that goes into the equation. It is rare for him to miss a detail - it may take him a bit to find it, but he will make sure to find it. In his mind, all of these traits are what makes a strong and successful fighter, and all he needs to do now is focus on improving his physical skills to match his mental ones.
❂ Tell It As It Is ❂ Because of his close relationship with his family, and his siblings, Nuri has discovered his desire to be upfront and honest to others. He wont think twice about giving someone a straightforward answer, because he feels it is a symbol of respect. He is direct with his responses, clear and concise, and will not cut corners to make the truth sound differently. As a result, he can sometime hurt feelings, but in his mind it is so much worse if he were to lie and have the truth be discovered later.
NEGATIVE TRAITS
❂ Am I A Solider? ❂ Because Nuri has almost put the idea of being a warrior on a pedestal, he constantly is pushing to make it to that status. He is obsessive in appearing the right way, in respecting others and following orders. When he is unable to do so, makes a mistake, or lets an emotion slip, he often will mentally berate himself for his 'failure'. In his mind, the only option he has to succeed and make his family proud is to be one of the top warriors, so the pressure he puts on himself is monumental. He wont let his frustration show, but often he will go off on his own and continue to train well past when it is appropriate, and do more damage than good in the process. The single-minded focus on his goal, and the act of making the goal nearly impossible to reach, has placed a strain on Nuri that he constantly needs to overcome. He has recently begun to question his purpose as a solder, and as a result the pressure has begun to result in a strain that places him in a bad mood. Thankfully, he has found an escape in his new familiar, Naraka, who seems to be a solution to his dilemma. Nuri is on the cusp of a turning point - does he continue down the path of a soldier - and if so, how does he go about doing it? Does he fight with the weapons that would make his father proud, or does he choose to train animals and focus on his own happiness for once in his life? . ❂ Turning A Blind Eye ❂ On top of feeling that the way of the warrior is his calling, Nuri also unquestionably believes in the right of the Oban, to the point where he is willing to sacrifice everything for his nation. He was raised in a household where his father only spoke positively of the nation, of what their right was as members of the nation, and as a result he sees glory in fighting for Oba. If someone were to question his loyalty, Nuri would be unable to respond. In his mind, Oba is the true chosen people. Thankfully, up to this point in his life his single-mindedness has not been questions, but moving forward there is potential for a uncomfortable situations if one were to tell him he is wrong. He may not physically fight them for it, but his close mindedness could result in a lot of verbal spars if he ever were to meet others that were not of Oban.
❂ Insensitive ❂ Nuri is not one who actively tries to hurt others, but because of his blind faith and sheltered life he is quite insensitive to those who are different than him. His honestly leads him to be straightforward with his feelings, and he can often run his mouth without thinking of how it may affect others. At the moment, Nuri is a walking propaganda machine for Oba, and he feels that he is doing his duty when explaining his passion to others. The fact he is unaware of how much his words can harm others, and his views as well, is because he was raised around a family that felt the same way. In his household, it was alright to spout out comments that insulted those 'beneath' him without batting an eye. As Nuri interacts with others, he will need to learn the impact of his words and views - but at this time it just isn't something he cares to focus on.

❂ What is with the bland personality? ❂ Nuri has been sheltered most of his youth, and as a result has a very single minded and focused personality. He often has hidden his true thoughts, questions, and emotions in order to please his father and appear as the perfect son. As a result, his starting personality will be very much a foundation to grow upon. I expect him to grow as a character, to begin to show a more casual, related, and joking nature as he develops. Right now, he will be closed off and struggle to move away from the solider mentality.
❂ He has a super keen interest in animals, is there a reason why he doesn't consider beast tamer an option? Like he doesn't like the weapon choice, or doesn't want a horde of familiars just one or two? ❂ I thought about this, but I think what came down to it was what his original character was based off of. The general character of Nuri was a lion, so I tried to think of traits that lions have. The Berserker was more of him using his 'claws' to tear someone apart. The same concept was an assassin, he would have two weapons to fight with and would be slashing. The rider was more the idea of him charging into battle, and having a mount possibly similar in stature to a lion. I think when I considered a tamer, it just didn't really fit well with the idea. Plus, the fauna idea was more of a side thing - he relaxes with animals. I'm not sure if it really matches his fighting style.
❂ He thinks lesser of those who aren't Oban, does he think the newly freed Matori are even farther beneath the other Tendajians, or maybe the other way around? ❂ This is a very interesting situation. On one hand, I think he could see the slaves as being 'educated' to the ways of the Oban - they know and have lived in the same area so they should be better suited for interaction with the Oban. The other Tendajians would be more 'uncultured' and 'savage', so they wouldn't be suited for interaction. It's about respect, and honestly he doesn't think those 'others' have it. At least the Matori, in his mind, are disciplined enough to understand the way things work. Of course, he does have subconscious racism thanks to his father's 'priming', so that is a big factor in it. However, considering he always was around the slaves, they are at least a little bit less lesser than other Tendajians.
Otherwise, feel free to update his outfit to fit his age/status. He's a captain but doesn't travel, trains and leads his men. Maybe this includes more clothing, or more items. Really, have fun adding/altering his outfit! Body Type: Maybe a little more muscle, but still the same body type! He looks a bit more mature/older.
