Saraf shifted his stance, his eyes locked on the man in front of him, before he gave him a smile. It was just a sparring match, so he wouldn't be going out of his way to harm his opponent, but he'd still do his best to fight with him. After the match began, with the two of them counting down from three, Saraf moved forward instantly, taking a swing with his swords, looking to smack Nuri with the flats of his swords instead of the points.

Nuri adjusted his own stance, and moved to unwind his whip as he faced his opponent. Things had changed since they last faced each other in the sparring ring, and Nuri was ready to prove to his friend that he had moved forward in his training.
It seemed as Saraf too was ready to jump in, as this time he gave no warning before rushing toward him. Nuri was prepared, and used a quick jump to the side to avoid the swipe that his peer sent. Shifting, he let out a grin before snapping his whip, feeling the excitement and thrill of the spar thrum through his veins. He was ready to step this up a notch.

Saraf gave a grin then a nod when he saw the manner in which he dodged Saraf first quick attack,"Good, good. I am most impressed, Nuri. Your skills are improving, aren't they? Have you been practicing?" He asked, shifting his stance for a moment, pointed his weapon at Nuri. Once he'd done so he lunged forward once again to make a few more quick attacks at the other man. He was showing more promise, looking stronger, able to better handle himself since the last time that the two of them had sparred like this. Nuri was getting stronger by leaps and bounds, something that made him that much happier that the two of them had crossed paths.
He'd have to make sure that he thanked On'os for his blessing of luck that allowed for that to happen after this battle was done with. Nuri was not only a good sparring partner but he might very well prove to be a good person to keep at his side as they entered into the Oban army and, with continued good fortune, they would help to change things for the better.

Nuri took the hit with a grunt, before nodding back at his superior.
"Joining the Army means actual training, thank the gods." He responded with a smirk, rolling his shoulder where the flat of the blade hit him hard. Well, there was nothing like a good bruise in a spar.
Pulling out his whip, he made to dodge one last swipe before shooting his own attack out. However, his attacks were more about sweeping others off their feet, as he could never take on a swordsman head on. He attempted to snap his whip at Saraf's feet, in an effort to tug his foot out from under him and cause him to tumble to the floor.

15 + 6 = 21, dodges
15 + 9 = 24/5 = 4.8 dmg
Saraf gave a nod of his head as the flads of his swords smacked against Nuri, making a dull 'SMACK' with each hits. It was likely that the attacks would leave bruises, something he'd apologize for after the sparring match was through with. For the time being he wanted to concentrate on the flow of battle.
"Yeah, the more training we are able to get, the more sparring matches that we can share, the better. We want to get stronger and be able to rise in the ranks after all." Something that he wanted quite badly, knowing he'd need to right twice as hard due to his eye. As Nuri came after him he went dancing backwards away from him, then lunged forward again, taking a few more swings at him. The two of them were going to rise in the ranks together if Saraf had anything to say about it.

Nuri nodded, his casual conversation slipping slightly as he was hit yet again. He needed to focus, and focus he did as he went on the offensive once more and sent out a snap of his whip with a flick of his wrist. He directed it toward one of Saraf's arms - nothing with too much force or intent, but it would have enough to leave a sting to match the bruises he was starting to feel on his own.
Saraf was right, they needed to train hard if they wanted to raise higher.

The whip smacked against Saraf's arm before wrapping around it, leaving behind a sensation that was much like fire. Not a good feeling in the least bit but he was able to at least use it to his advantage as he attempted to catch hold of the whip so that he could drag Nuri into his next attack. He knew it might be seen a bit like dirty fighting but he couldn't resist, not when the two of them were supposed to be fighting hard and testing one another. People in the real world didn't fight fair, something that Saraf knew first hand. They would use anything and everything they could to win up to and including dirty fighting. He was just helping Nuri with his training was all.

Nuri felt himself pulled roughly toward Saraf as his whip wrapped around his arm. He saw the weapon come at him, but was able to roll to the side and dodge at the last second, snapping his wrist to dislodge his whip at the same time.
Using the momentum and the energy of Saraf's movements, Nuri also made a move to take the fight to that level and once again attempted to go for Saraf's ankle, this time greatly working to trip the man and send him to the ground.

Saraf gave a chuckle, looking quite pleased over the fact that Nuri was able to dodge the attack that he'd made against him, "Good, very good, Nuri." He said before he took a couple of hopping steps back away from him as Nuri tried to trip him up. He was able to dodge and once he was well enough away he went at him again, taking another swing at his sparring partner with the flat of his sword.

Nuri smirked at Saraf and dodged as well, sending his whip out again for the other arm as he continued with his speed. Saraf was not slowing down, so he wouldn't either. Keep pushing, go harder, and come out stronger. They were well matched, and would push each other to success.
