Chapter 7: Rising Storm

User Image|| IC ||

Aselia had been kicked out of Sauti, along with her Alkidike followers. Back on the Isles, those who shouted for control of Sauti boarded their boats and left, plotting a course that would bring them through the rest of the lands to reach their destination.

Those in Jauhar and Tale, after their meeting came to an end, decided to blockade the Alkidike, most hoping for an attempt to try to talk the Extremists down. The elders and leaders, after meeting in private came to the conclusion that the safest course of action for those uninterested or afraid of being caught in the struggle would be to blockade near the Sauti borders away from their villages, joining forces with the wind and ice earthlings to stop things as a front line.

The earthling in Oba and Matori, after reaching their conclusion to help those in need, reached out to the leaders of Matori, asking to use as many of their wall-scaling war beasts as they could manage to get them there as fast as the gods would allow. Though the Matori leaders would not allow their beasts to be used in this upcoming confrontation, enough trips were made to be able to take those who wanted to join the efforts.

Now, all gathered in Sauti on its borders, the people of Tendaji wait for the Extremists. Messengers have been traveling through the forests, bringing word of the incoming Extremist mass, and it wasn't looking good. There were many extremists, all coming for Sauti's borders. And while those in Tendaji stood to help, along with those Alkidike that did not support the Extremists and the Matron, would it be enough?

[Playable characters are now in Sauti. The majority of the Extremist Alkidike have not reached Sauti yet. Characters are in preparation for whatever it is they expect: negotiations, war, ambush, etc.]

Nuri Post 8

The time it took to get to the palace forced Nuri to think over exactly what he was getting into. This would be his first battle, his first war. Training had prepped him physically for this, but mentally he had no idea what would happen. His thoughts were on his family, and Aseara, and he wished he had more time. More time to practice, more time to train, and more time to bond.

The journey up the side of the cliffs was interesting enough, and Naraka was uncomfortable indeed. Nuri had to practice all of his training to keep his Janarim focused and calm, and when they finally made it up the cliffs he wasn't fast enough to catch the creature to run ahead and on ground.

He too felt comfortable finally getting off those cliffs.

Now, the army was gathered at the borders. Volunteers had lined up as well, but Nuri kept with his fellow warriors in the Army. He looked around to see if he could find any familiar faces - especially Saraf. As he realized his head was swiveling a bit much, he focused ahead and listened, his eyes sharp and his mind calming as he fell into his solider pose.

The Alkidikes would be here soon, and he had to be prepared.

Vollerei post 8
User Image

Zweli, her adult kinfa, flew hard and fast, crossing Juahur far quicker than the coming extremists could. Even weighted down by Vollerei's considerable weight, Zweil was old enough, strong and well fed; he only needed a few stops along the way. Vollerei was too worried to enjoy hte ride, while the lands passed below, her eyes scoured for signs of smoke, armies on the move or outposts she could contact. When she saw a city or town below, she would have Zweil land so she could tell the villagers what was coming... maybe they could get out of the way in time, hide until the idiots of her race passed through.

Finally they reached Suati and she landed far enough out and in the open; that way the gathering below would know she was there.. and hopefully not shoot.

"Good boy." She murmured and ran a hand through Zweil's head feathers. "Go find a place to rest and recover." She stepped back as he took off, heading off to find a tree to sleep the days away and recover.

With a sigh, the large alkidike squared her shoulders and prepared to head into the gathered earthlings... she did need to warn them that unfortunately the extremists had managed to convince a fair number of people to join and it was no small group coming this way.

Talin post 8User Image
The festical, what little there had been of it, was now over and Talin could return to what he did best; stealing and killing! OR at least, setting up ambushes nad killing since he wasn't sure how much theft he'd be getting in the u[coming battle. Looting hte dead, he did intend to do of course! And kill as many of the stupid bugs as he could... but to do that he would need help.

Talin was walking about, looking for those who seemed they could be counted on for stealth and the dirtier tactics of war. Who cared about meeting the alkidikes honorably, face to face, mano-a-mano? That was stupid and suicidal.. hit them fast, hit them from where they weren't expecting it.. and when they turned to fight, you vanished into the landscape to wait and strike again later. Whittle them down bit by bit, ruin their moral and make them nervous!

OOC: Talin is gathering more bloodthristy people about him to kill alkidikes! Also is preparing for an Ambush and unfair methods of fighting 8D

Aseara - Post #8

Afsana had given Aseara some Wind clothing for her journey back to Sauti where everyone had gathered. Putting them on had made her feel extremely out of place, she was so use to the rich reds and purples of Oba that now she felt like these clothing were not for her. They were for someone that she used to be and she didn’t like it. For the most part, Aseara kept quiet for the whole journey. She spoke every little to even the other Windlings that tried to speak to her. She was not here to make friends after all, she was here to say goodbye once and for all.

Once at the camp, Aseara stuck to the makeshift infirmaries that had been set up. She didn’t want to be seen by anyone she knew and if anyone died she would see them come through here and she would know. Until then, Aseara sat back and wait for orders to be given. She kept her thoughts of her old tribe in the farthest reaches of her mind, if she started thinking about them now she would end up staying in Sauti. She’d built herself a good home in Oba and she wasn’t willing to throw that away. Which meant she had to fight for it, so here she was.

Alassiel - Post #8

Alassiel dropped her back by her bed and sighed softly, how she longed to be up in the trees but not everyone here was apt for it and so she stayed on the ground. She planted her trident in the ground and left to seek some food. She found what she was looking for and went to take a seat by a fire someone had set up. She didn’t like this waiting game, but she also wasn’t insane enough to just simply run into battle either. She briefly wondered if she would see either Xarnith or Mano here at the camp and decided to keep her eyes open.

Karothdra - Post #8

It was admittedly Karothdra’s first time traveling outside of Oba and well, it wasn’t as exciting as she’d thought it would be. The journey was long and for most of it anxiety was eating up at her. She was getting itchy and twitchy wanting to get in the fight, but even when they got there, there was still no fighting. They still had to settle in and get the camps set up and get everyone their proper orders. It was chaos, especially with those with little or no military training. Karothdra really didn’t know how they were going to get organized with so many people.

Exiting her tent, Karothdra checked her gauntlets to make sure they were secure and headed for the others that had gathered. They were playing the waiting game now. Karo spotted Nuri and headed to see him falling in line next to him, hands behind her back.

“Good to see you Nuri.” Karo sent him a smile.

Aselia Post 8

The mystic was angry to say the least. In her struggling she had accumulated a few more bruises as the earthlings were forced to subdue her in order to remove her from Sauti. Seriously, did that old hag think she could permanently keep her out? What was she planning on doing? Dividing herself into parts and keep a permanent eye on the boarders? Hah! Aselia doubted even that woman had the patience for that. "Tch, really. At this point I'll support every action you guys take. I hate that woman. Jumping to conclusions like that." Anger seeped out of Aselia in bursts of flames that woke and died in her hands. She and her companions had just arrived back with the rest of the extremists as they moved their way through Tale. Her own anger seemed to be fueling them on after she had recounted to them exactly what had happened. From her point of view that was.

Thankfully she had healing magic of her own and had been able to recover from the injuries she had sustained. However that wasn't to say vengeance and that woman were not first on her list. "I want to bring her down myself." Aselia snapped her eyes darting towards the Matron suspiciously. Why had she not seen this woman before now? And what was it she was so eager to accomplish anyway. Hmph, Mystic markings or not she wasn't so keen on her being around.

"You should have seen them!" One of Aselia's companions boasted. "They got riled up so easy over a few words. Even after Mystic Aselia went and told them all she wanted was the Suruhama."

A few laughed as they made their way through the territory they were in. "You should have seen the ones back in Jauhar. Oh they tried to talk with us, to reason with us. You know get us to step down. But really just a bunch of pathetic 'others' it wasn't like we had already heard the trivial voices in Chibale from some of the weaker sisters anyway."

There was more laughter from several of them. "Oh the look on their faces as we pushed by and through Jauhar was priceless. What I wouldn't give to see their faces again." The sister licked her lips but stopped talking when Aselia shot her a warning look from where she rode upon a Janarim. "Yeah she was there too but we couldn't exactly do anything. We have a time constraint according to the Matron."

Once again Aselia found herself staring suspiciously at the Matron. Just what was that woman up to! A mystic as old as her leaving the isle, did not trust not trust that she was capable of leading and supporting her sisters.

"Lets pull camp here for the night." Aselia spoke bringing her mount to a stop before pushing off and walking a short distance away. "It wont be long until we reach Sauti. Better to rest up now while we have the chance."

"But if we rest now-" The sister paused as Aselia gave another sharp look.

Turning back to pick up her bow and quiver Aselia glanced around the sister. "We will stop here for some food and rest." Is anyone up for some hunting?"

(Long posting is long so under cut to take up less space.)

Eziya Post 8

The journey to Sauti had been tiring. Luckily they had made it before the Alkidike forces had arrived, but she was concerned that they would be there soon enough. She needed to set up a tent, or some sort of area that healers could help the wounded when it was needed. She had been struggling for a bit to set said tent up, but didn't want to bother anyone else with putting it up. Gift was no help and constantly tried pulling the posts down on top of it all, so for the moment she was simply struggling to do her part. She was curious to see just what Serr would do to help out. She didn't expect him to stay there with her while she fixed up others. It would bore him to be sitting there, especially with his antsy nature. There had been scouting parties forming though, so perhaps he would go with them. As long as he was safe she was okay with whatever he decided.

"Will you be going out with the scouting parties?" she questioned, turning to glance at him while she pulled another post out of Gift's beak.

Kani Post 8

Things had been interesting while she traveled to Sauti with Gael and Nuawahn. After the exchange she had had with Gael back in Oba she wasn't exactly sure just how she should interact with the other Matori. She was hyper focused on figuring out a way on how she could help, and wasn't sure if Gael even really wanted to be there. She was worried that he had simply come because she asked, and that his heart wasn't one hundred percent in the cause. There were people preparing everywhere, and now they needed to find their own place to settle down and figure out their plan of attack.

"So boys, what shall we do to prepare before the Alkidike get here?"]

Dezani Post 8

Dezani had sent his father to hide along with the rest of the people who weren't prepared for a fight. He didn't want his only remaining family to get hurt in the fight, and his father really wasn't in any shape to fight anyway. He was sure the people who stayed would handle it just fine, and the others would have no reason to worry. Araie was with him now as well, so he didn't have to worry about just where she was. Raiha had taken up sleeping on the Iceling's shoulder while they prepared, and now that they were done setting up their small camp there wasn't much else left to do but wander around and try to find other ways to help.

"Is there any place you would like to go and check out to see if we can help, Araie?" he questioned, leaning close to speak to her. He was still so surprised at meeting back up with her and seeing her now. She was just so much more.....well amazing. The years had been good to her, and it was unfortunate that they met back up on such stressful terms.

Zumei Post 7

There was so much being done and Zumei just didn't know where exactly to start! She had been practicing fighting with Eije, but she wasn't really sure if she was good at it or not. She couldn't decide on a weapon to use of any sort, and if she didn't get good at something soon she would be absolutely no help. She couldn't just sit back and serve food to people. That was no fun at all, and while people needed it she was determined to do other things besides that. She had been practicing with a hammer lately, but even so she wasn't sure if this weapon was any good either. The joys of not knowing how to do anything were finally catching up to her and if the Alkidike reached them soon she'd be worthless against them.

"Oh Eije, what should I do? I'm, not getting better at anything," she pouted, turning to her new friend.

Xariy Post 7

The journey from Jauhar to Sauti had been a long one. Xariy had stuck to the trees mostly, and had tried her best to get there quickly after hearing all the earthlings were meeting at Sauti's borders to fend off the Alkidike. The warrior women hadn't reached the home of the wind earthlings yet, but no doubt it would soon be upon them. She was debating on whether or not she should join a scouting party, but she wasn't sure if it was the right thing to do. If the ambushes didn't work correctly it could get bad very fast. She had promised to find Phaedra and Vukasin before the fighting started at least, just to make sure they were still well and had made it safely of course. Perhaps finding them would be best to see if they had anything planned. She just had to wander around to find them.

"I wonder where exactly they would be. If they even decided to stick around to fight that is."

(( Long post incoming... >>;;; ))

Syqvara Post 8

She made sure to gather things she would need, which wasn't much, before she set out to Sauti. Ironically the leafling had stayed close to Nyiim as they made their way across Tale. Once Sy was inside the Sauti borders she seemed to be looking around at everything and searching for signs of a plant she'd never seen before. It wasn't hard to spot. After a while she turned a smile toward Nyiim. "H-have you been t-to Sauti be-before?" Sy was curious to know if he had traveled much. It was likely that he wasn't like her and afraid to leave home. The only reason she had been away from her home for so long before the conflict had started was because she had been traveling with a friend through Jauhar. "I-I've only b-been to Jauhar." And of course Tale, but that was a given since she had been raised there.

Phaedra Post 7

After she had left the two to make sure her father and their house guest left the area, Phae collected her spare trident and took off to leave Jauhar. Thankfully she had managed to catch up to a group of other leaf tribesman and women so her travel across Tale wasn't a lonely one. She did make sure to keep an eye out for Xariy and Vuka along the way.

Once she was within Sauti borders she made sure to search a lot harder than a casual glance. Her efforts paid off as she spotted the other woman, Xariy, and walked toward her. "Hey. Where's the kid?" Phaedra was hoping that they would have traveled together but then again it made sense if the boy had made the trip with his family. If he made the trip at all. He might have been told to stay behind. If that was the case then she would breathe a little easier. Still, she looked around to see if she could spot the shifter boy.

Gael Post 8

The young Matori had made the trip with Kani, and Nuawhan if he had followed. It had been hard to say no to Kani and despite his thoughts on the matter he seemed to be coming around to the idea. "I need to find a sturdy shield." Not only was it part of the path he wanted to follow but he'd make sure to defend the beautiful girl wearing his mother's necklace. "Do you need to do anything to prepare your spells?" He knew so little about magic. When this fight was over he'd have to ask Kani to show him just how magic worked.

Kalliope Post 8

The tiny dancer traveled with the Oban army, mainly staying close to Saraf, until she had needed to stop for a moment to fix her sandal. She wasn't used to the Sauti terrain and a rock had gotten into her shoe. Kalli had then lost sight of Saraf and tried to hurry along. The young Oban did manage to find Saraf's friend, Nuri though. Not knowing what else to do she made her way toward him, hoping that Saraf would also seek out his friend. Gently she cleared her throat to gain his attention. "Excuse me, have you seen Saraf? I lost sight of him while traveling." Kalliope turned her head to look around again and see if she could find the intimidating looking Oban.

Ming'we Post 4

After the conflict with the mystic had happened she made sure to quickly collect her crossbow and bolts for it. Ming didn't join others as they stood around in a group waiting, instead she had decided to climb up onto a large boulder. From there she had a great vantage point, as well as a sniping spot. Almost immediately she started to search the crowd for any familiar face. Her brother, Callum, or even Isolder. If they were in the crowd then she would make sure to snipe any Alkidike that got too close to them. There was no way she'd let some harm come to them.

V'demhe Post 7

Once they were in Jauhar she went quickly to find Teiluj, and Virain, she wanted to tell them to get far away from the fighting. Of course finding them was difficult. She hadn't seen them even when she made it to Sauti. It frustrated her a little. Looking back at Maha she gave a huff. "Blue boy.. go find Virain." Who better to send than her familiar that seemed to like the Matorian. Dem just hoped that he could find him before the true fighting began.

With Maha gone she caught sight of her other radaku coming out of the shadows to stand by her. V'demhe gave a small smile and reached down to pat the pink beast on the head. "It's alright Tanou." She was greeted with a growl. Tanou wasn't overly fond of being touched but she didn't attack. Taking her hand away from the radaku she turned her attention to the crowd that had gathered. She'd need to move to the front soon. She gave a glance around to see if she could find Maya.

Ariya Post 6

She had stuck close to Maya the whole way. Partly because she had never been off the islands and didn't want to get lost. The other part was because she wanted to make sure she could keep Maya safe. Granted her fighting skills wouldn't be as good as the full guardian's were but she would try. "Well this isn't how I thought I would see the world." Going to war. Against her own people none-the-less. Ariya frowned as she thought that she might have to against her own mother. That wouldn't be an easy task. She wasn't even sure she'd be able to do it.

Neibet Post 6

Neibet snorted, look at her sister's, gloating at how hotheaded they'd made the outsiders, the others, the crystal crawlers get with just a few words. Did they not see how hotheaded they themselves were becoming? It irked her to be able to tally herself among their number, as she recalled just how brightly her anger burned within her. The walk back was long enough that she'd managed to cool down and think things out rationally.

It didn't diminish the hate she felt for the crawlers leadership though. She let her gaze rest on Aselia for a moment before switching to the Matron. Quickly she lowered her gaze and looked at the woman through her lashes. Here was someone who knew what she wanted and stopped at nothing to get it. Idly she wondered how many of her sisters corpses would she step over to gain her heart's desire.

---------

Virain Post 2

Virain stood next to his Master as he chatted with his wife, the Alkidike wore a long cloak and looked haggard as ever. She'd greeted Virain warmly when she saw him, and the hug she'd given him had been warm. She then proceeded to ask just how badly Kybell was beating him, in regards to his training. Virain had only blushed in mortification and Kybell had snorted derisively, making a comment about how he'd 'do'. Whatever that meant.

He fingered the length of his staff, holding it close, as he watched people mill around, searching for friends or troopmates, family, those familiar to them basically. Idly he wondered if Teiluj, Isolder, Isaris, V'demhe, and Maya were would there fighting as well. If Maya and V'demhe would cave to the demands of their sisters and fight against the earthlings, or stay neutral out of fear of what they'd do to Teiluj. Nkole he hoped was staying out of the fight.

A familiar barking caught his attention right as he was bowled over by a much welcomed Radaku. "Maha!" He cried, voice muffled between swipes of a wet tongue. "Maha!" He grinned and rubbed his hands over the beasts horns, down his neck, over his jaw. It clicked suddenly, if Maha was here that meant that Dem was as well! Or, rather, hopefully she was here!

Carefully he wiggled out from underneath the Radaku, "Maha, take me to Dem! Show me where V'demhe is!"

Amarone Post 8

Amarone was nervous. Thankfully they have traveled up the cliffs, and she was able to swing by her home and warn her family. Others may overlook the farmlands of the mountains, but she would not let that village suffer. She quickly spoke with her siblings, the reunion bittersweet, and warned them to find their cousins up in Zena. As the family and the settlement fled, she turned to face the front lines with the others.

Istanell was right, she had to do something to help.

Making way to the wargrounds well after most, she kept to the back lines where the tents and supplies were held. Her eyes scanned the supplies and she tried to resist the need to fiddle, nodding to most she passed and thinking over what she wanted to do.

As she neared the healing tents, she stepped in to offer her support, looking around at the others and eyeing a few other Windlings that were also there to help.

Tasinei

Lumikani Post 8

Lumikani was looking around the extremist camp, taking everything in by herself. Her sisters had chosen to turn away from everyone and flee, either to help the Earthlings or stay somewhere out of the way. She wondered what luck they would have with the Earthlings - if they knew that the Alkidikes were coming, there was no way they would trust a few sisters running in crying wolf. It was a foolish endeavor indeed, and something Lumikani still scoffed about.

Stepping with the others with her makeshift weapons and her newest Radaku companion at her side, she wished Eshe were around to answer her question. In the chaos and movement, she had lost sigh of the mystic, and knew that she most likely would stay on the island.

Only Aselia would hear the words of their mother now, and from what little Lumikani saw of her, she seemed furious over something. The Earthlings had insulted their mystic, and apparently wouldn't listen or give any sort of respect to her. It was an insult to all of the sisters, and Lumikani knew it wouldn't do to let them get away with it.

The Earthlings were complacent with the last war, and it was time to remind them exactly who was the stronger race.

Maya's post 8

Dominant fist clenched over her bow. The other placed on her Janarim, Kakkara. Several of the young sisters that had come with Maya from Chibale had paused at Jauhar. She had been in too much of a hurry to seek them out after her own search of the place. She had not been able to find Teiluj. That alone had infuriated the Guardian Alkidike. There had been little information about her daughter anywhere, save for the odd earthling mentioning that many had packed up to Sauti. Where a blockade was being held and where many who didn't want to fight were being moved behind as a safety measure. Would that mean she had found refuge with Shukri? Had he made it to Sauti at least?

Maya glanced back towards Ariya. "Are you hungry? We should be reaching Sauti soon. I have no desire to let the Extremists get ahead of us." Kakkara shifted as he moved below her. "Unfortunately this isn't really a good way to actually see the world. Perhaps if we survive this war... you would like to take time to travel with my companions and I? They are mostly earthlings though." Hopefully Teiluj was with Shukri. Maya turned to see who else was still with them having asked the question of hunger for everyone to hear. Now she hoped, was a good time to speak up. She had food in her bags just in case.

SATHE POST 8

Sathe spent the trek from Jauhar to Sauti thinking about the children and her sister, and what this would mean for them if they lost. She shook her head and pushed her probably overdramatic thoughts of savage Alkidike out of her head.

She was sure that there were enough of them to hold the Alkidike back.

When she saw the lineup of tents set up near the border to Sauti, she was almost sure of it. There was enough for a whole army here.

She pulled her bag further up on her shoulder and looked first for a healers' tent. Something maybe she could report for duty for. She had the feeling that this wouldn't be settled with words alone if the Alkidike were this intent on setting a course for Sauti.

MIRIN POST 8

Mirin didn't remember the trip from Jauhar to Sauti taking so long, but by the time they had gotten there, she was just happy to stop moving. It seemed like the others had gotten there before them, but that just meant less set up for Mirin to do.

She walked up to those in charge of tent space. If there was nothing to do yet, might as well drop off her stuff, or at least what little she had.

She pushed open her assigned tent space, something that looked like she was supposed to share with 4 others, and dropped her bag onto her bunk. They sure were ready for a sleepover now weren't they.

SRIINA POST 8

Sriina shook out her braids, looking around at the camp site. It looked like they were all prepping for war. So much for peace talk, she had to think to herself. If they looked like they wanted to fight, wouldn't it be harder to fend off battle? She couldn't understand the other races.

The ride up the cliff side had been rough, Sriina had been sick on more than one occasion, and throwing up off of the side of a cliff was not something on her bucket list before marriage.

She rubbed out her shoulder, aching from gripping to the back of the beast for so long. She had been one of the last to make the trip, not really super intent on going to begin with, but she could see that most of the others were milling about, sitting in their tents, doing whatever it was they wanted to do.

Sriina would do the same she supposed.

Eije Post 8

With preparations underway, there was a bustle of people wherever you went. Luckily, Eije had been getting in quite a bit of practice with Zumei, her newest friend. Practices had been going well if Eije’s muscles had anything to say about it but it felt like the tension was beginning to grow.

With a bit of a stretch, Eije gave a warm smile to Zumei, “I wouldn’t say that. You’ve been getting better this whole time.” They had been practicing with a wide array of weapons, and Zumei’s improvement was noticeable, easily catching up to herself. At the very least, she was going to be well rounded if the two of them didn’t figure it out soon. “Do you think it’s because we haven’t focused in on one weapon that you’re not seeing the improvement?”

Careele Post 6

It was odd, finding himself out of the jungles and preparing for a war. This was the first time he had really been out of Jauhar and Sauti was… interesting to say the least. He nearly felt agoraphobic, at the abrupt lack of large vegetation. But he found his way, following the crowds with a pack in hand and Siern by his side.

He still wasn’t sure what he wanted to get out of this. Peace, of course, was the prime objective, but for himself…he couldn’t quite say. It felt like he was being lead. Once this was all over, he would find his way out of the rut… for now, he was there as he was needed.

Wyome Post 7

This had been an adventure, that was for sure. Wyome smiled as she helped with the preparations, even with the growing anxiety that filled the air. It was nice being useful, though she had received some negative looks from some of the other earthlings as she made her way around the camps they had traversed. They kept their prejudice to themselves though, seeing that she was helping.

Gathering some fruits from some of the makeshift vendors set up, she made her way towards her newest friend, “Morning, Niadra. Look what I found for us!”

Bhima- post 5

It had been one of the most painful treks of her life. She has returned to Sauti ahead of the extremists, hoping the Earthlings hadn't come so far as to shoot on sight. Her chest heaving, she held a hand up to the nearest person.

"They are coming," she said, "but there are a great many of us coming to help you." Of course there was always the worry that this was not what Aisha had wanted, that she was meant to fight for Tendajian dominance. She had prayed hard on her travels here and now stood worried. She had never fought her Sisters before, not like this. There were at least two extremists for every dissenter. This battle would be a terrible one.

Nyiim- post 7

Nyiim hadn't minded the near-companionship of the younger Leaf woman as they trekked to Sauti. He wasn't sure if she didn't want to be alone or if she preferred his company especially, but it was nice to have someone to turn to when things got tense. She may not know it, but she kept him from turning inward and losing his optimism for something darker. Now they walked on the field together and she turned to him.

"Yes, I've been to Sauti. Enki sent me to hunt a great beast to prove its existence," Nyiim explained with a nod and a half-smile, "I haven't been so far as Oba and Matori or Zena, but I've seen Jauhar and Tale and Sauti." He surveyed their surroundings and all of the soldiers and healers gathering at the tents, and at the wild crags of stone. Hopefully the Alkidike would listen to reason, but at least it was clear that the rest of Tendaji was willing to fight if not.

Vukasin- post 7

Vuka had made the journey from Jauhar to Sauti at his family's side. As for now he lingered around the supply tents. Adrenaline had begun forcing itself through his veins. Whether or not they planned to try and speak to the Alkidike first, it was clear that Tendaji was willing to fight. He stood in silence now, watching the crowds for any familiar faces. He turned to his father and pulled a bit of a face.

"I don't know what use I'll be."

Ime- post 7

Ime sighed, surveying her surroundings and seeing various soldiers and young trainees preparing for battle. It was like reliving a bad dream. The Alkidike were coming, supposedly in great numbers, and here they were, set up to try and protect their homeland from invasion. She closed her eyes a moment, almost wincing in pain, and rested her cheek against Thorn's chest for just a moment. When she pulled away she clutched his hand and peered up to him.

"Will you be fighting?" She wanted him to say 'no,' that he was going to stay and assist the healers even if it meant one less body in the battle. She wasn't so sure that was in Thorn's nature, however.

Sebastien- post 6

He had been helping to prepare and considering his options. Should he join the fight himself? He was no rider, but he could work a whip with fair skill and had some battle training. He had never battled before, though. He had only been on the sidelines. So this time? He had been lingering by the tents when he saw a familiar face. A smirk crossed his lips and he approached.

"Ichil! Won't your father be looking for you?"

Ichil- post 6

She felt so out-of-place here. Sure, there were a good amount of Obans who had come to fight with the others, but said 'others' were definitely in the majority. It was a great relief to see a familiar, handsome face even if she barely knew the guy.

"Nah," she said, shaking her head and turning to approach the man, "He's too busy with his solders to worry about me." For the moment, Ichil was dressed in common garb for battle, not her usual noble fare.
