HOBBIES liveblogging: Amaris is a semi-popular Tumblr liveblogger, known for being willing to try watching or reading just about anything at least once, but primarily being interested in anime with a lot of action and a lot of comedy; she makes some side cash off of it, and runs a Patreon and a Ko-fi, under the name stardustsuperhero. She's gotten reposted by Buzzfeed a few times, to her chagrin.
drums: She never meant for it to be a thing, but a friend offered free lessons, and then another friend wanted to start an (admittedly terrible) garage band, and now Amaris can officially say she's a (semi-trained) drummer. She's not great, but it's something she's actively working at, and the freedom to just absolutely suck and say it's stylistic has helped a lot with her anxieties on that front.
comics: Okay, so superhero comics might be incredibly stupid at times, but they're usually her brand of incredibly, unbelievably 'oh-my-god-who-let-this-get-published' stupid. Since she took to hanging out at comic shops on a friend's suggestion, she's tried out all kinds of series, all kinds of books: a single comic book is usually short enough she can justify the time expense to herself.
VIRTUES perceptive: Amaris is a lot more perceptive and aware than most people think she is. Although she may be brash and way too casual and plays at being a bit of a ditz, she hates being stressed out, and she's always on the lookout for potential situations or causes for stress; if worst comes to worst she'll try damage control, but she's good at spotting bad situations before they start and getting out of dodge accordingly. She's far better at reading people than it usually seems, and she doesn't like to advertise it.
lighthearted: It's not necessarily something that comes oh-so-naturally, but Amaris makes an effort to stay upbeat and flippant at most times; if someone's glooming up the situation, she's usually there to make the room feel a little less defeatist. She's here to have a good time, and that means she does want other people to have a good time too, actually; she won't go out of her way to actively assist, but she's trying her best to be an optimist despite everything!!
self-aware: Amaris knows what her own damn problems are. Okay, yeah, she might not be dealing with them effectively, but -- she knows where her problem areas are, she knows what she's afraid of, she knows what she's good at. She knows who she is, and who she isn't, and she has no illusions about being - really, deeply, being - someone she isn't.
FLAWS flighty: Amaris struggles with committing to anything - she's always fluttering off to whatever's caught her interest next. Half the reason she dropped out of college in the first place was because she couldn't decide on a major she'd want to stick with and couldn't justify paying tuition without any goal in mind, and honestly she hasn't even thought about it in ages?? She's basically immune to the sunk-cost fallacy, if only by sake of never too late to just walk out! Hit the bricks! You can leave! Not having fun?? Simply quit! (Aside from, like, y'know. Having a job. Don't quit that, she needs money to live.)
not-my-problem: For the sake of her mental and physical health, Amaris has gotten really good about staying in her lane. Like. Really, really good, to the point of being lackadaisical. Until something directly affects her or the people she loves, she doesn't care and she's plugging her ears and drowning it out; she tried being invested in other people's business, yeah, and all that got her in Destiny City was a half-broken heart and some nasty relationship drama, a couple of counts of temporary possession where she punched a kid and tried to kill someone, a lot of bruises and cuts and sprains she couldn't explain to her family, and no real recognition. It's way easier to just... not care. So, okay, maybe it's a little heartless, but... she's gotta put herself first, right?
why even try: If there's any real chance of failure, Amaris typically balks at even starting. She's got a wildly defeatist attitude, for all the pep in her step, and that obfuscating stupidity she plays at sometimes - the idea of being a ditz, of not needing, not caring - is halfway to a defense mechanism. If you don't commit, you never get disappointed when you really fail - if you fail at all! And even when she does try, she needs outside reinforcement to push her to keep trying, or else she'll toss it to the winds just like everything else.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION eyes: A hazel-fade of pink-lemonade pink (on top) to peachy yellow (on bottom). hair:#9755ba, typically either styled into space buns or left down (reaches to about armpit level), although styles like this and this are entirely possible to see her with. Her hair texture is roughly 3C. face: If Destiny City was a movie, Amaris would be played by Ashley Moore, if you added freckles. skintone: Roughly #cc7c57 with #c6714d shadows. Warm undertones. body type: Amaris is roughly 5'7", kind of standardly-built; she has some arm muscle, but she's pretty unremarkable otherwise. Not slender, not fat, just kind of... middling. clothes: Denim jackets, pleated skirts, bike shorts, brand tees. Chunky sneakers. Jangly bracelets and holo chokers. She shops at Hot Topic a lot. Basketball shorts and tank tops meant for someone with at least a good four inches on her, if she's having a depressive flare.

Hobbies: Anime: Reading manga isn't an authentic experience - Amaris has a difficult time visualizing things in motion when they're only shapes on a page - and god only knows how difficult it is to get decent copies of the volumes; so Ama does the only reasonable thing instead...she watches lots, and lots, of anime. Subbed? Dubbed? Doesn't matter. Sometimes she heats up a thing of popcorn and curls up in her bed, with a blanket, and watches anime for...well. Not too long at all -- her attention span is nasty. But there's no shame in dabbling in a little of everything, is there? She likes slice of life stuff and upbeat magical girl series the most, but she's never met a series she didn't like. (Except Bible Black. She's pretty sure that was illegal on some level.)
Shiny Collecting: OOOOH LOOK A SHINY THING. Amaris likes to pick up anything shiny she can off the ground, pocket it, and take it home and put it in a box -- cheap trinkets, lost jewelry, shiny stones and bird feathers. Sure, maybe it's a bit of a hoarding tendency, but she keeps them all sealed and washed: and they're pretty, aren't they? Her collection fills up a few jewelry boxes, since when they fill up, she sells the things she likes least over to pawn shops. It's a tiny little side hobby, but...she likes the glitter of the things.
Liveblogging: Amaris doesn't make any money off of it -- she's not that far into adulthood still, why the hell would she -- but she's a semi-popular liveblogger on Tumblr who does quick reviews of anything and everything people request. She'll sample anything and everything once, or maybe twice, and there's a certain appeal to that.
Virtues: Carefree: Don't worry too hard about it, it's all going to work out! Amaris likes to go with the flow and just have a good time, and she doesn't stress too much about anything that doesn't jive with her flow. What's the use of stressing too crazy-difficult? Just have a good time, just relax, just believe it's all going to make sense without stressing yourself out of your mind. She has an easier time with her schooling than some people because she doesn't lose sleep over allnighters; and she's not self-conscious in the least. Why worry about how you look to others? Enjoy what you do, and everyone else will to. Always the first to do anything silly: that's Amaris.
Aware: Amaris is pretty dang good at paying attention to the things going on around her. She's aware, she's alert, she keeps with the flow: how else will she always know what else is hip and happenin'? Amaris isn't stupid or unobservant; she's not someone who likes to stress, but that doesn't mean she doesn't keep an eye out for things that might make her stress in the off chance she needs to. She's reasonably observant and can usually notice problems before they really erupt into disaster, at which point she'll usually attempt a little damage control. If everyone's all freaked out and stuff, all flipping their lids: who's going to be able to have any fun?
Flaws: Flighty: It's hard for Amaris to focus on any one thing too long -- she's always fluttering off to the next big thing, the new important thing. She jumps ship with her interests before she can ever get too connected: it's not on purpose, really, but why tether yourself down to something? She never stays with one thing too long, and staying attached to any one thing for too much gives her metaphorical hives. Her major is, as of yet, undeclared: she doesn't want to tie herself down in that way, and unless you make plans spur-of-the-moment or INCREDIBLY in advance Amaris will back out.
Loud: Amaris is a person with a Big Personality. She's loud, she yells, she has trouble keeping her voice down in the library, and you are going to hear her regardless of if you want to. She has one setting; that setting is LOUD, and she's always standing out from the crowd. It's...well. It is what it is, and what it is: that's not pleasant. She loves to be the first in line, the brightest and boldest and most standing-out person in the room...sure, Amaris is carefree, but she hates being passed over when she wants something. She's gotta make sure she's noticed: bad or good, not important.

Eyes: A hazel-fade of lemonade yellow-pinks. Hair: Purple, exceedingly curly; Amaris is mixed Jewish/African-American and has the hair to show for it. Amaris loves hair accessories. She's accepted the frizz at this point. Clothes: Big, jangly bracelets, necklaces with charms, crop tops, baggy shorts. Pretty much purely monochromatic. She's got to make her natural color pop, after all!
Page: A toy pillar. Nothing special about it - it's made of plastic, and it's not going to really do much. At least it's solid plastic?
Squire: A shortstaff, about two and a half feet long; much the same as the toy pillar, just lengthier, more ornate, and not plastic -- it is made of thick glass instead. ________At this stage, Anakeion's magic manifests: by placing both hands on her staff, the staff 'freezes' itself to her hands via a covering of ice that covers up to her mid-forearms. Her hands cannot be forcibly removed from the staff for as long as she is channeling. While her magic is activated, Anakeion's attacks are doubled in force, as if two of her were sharing the exact same physical space. At this stage, she may channel for 30 seconds.
Knight: A staff (resembling a bō) around Anakeion's height. It's made of a flexible metal and has ends made of elaborately carved crystal. Magic: When Anakeion has at least one hand placed on her staff, she can 'freeze' it to her via a covering of ice that reaches to her mid-forearm(s), and the staff cannot be removed from her grip as long as she is channeling. While her magic is activated, Anakeion hits twice as hard as she would normally: all force from her attacks is doubled, as if two of her were sharing the same physical space. At this stage, Anakeion may channel for 50 seconds.
Knight: A longstaff with elaborate crystal 'heads', bearing the same design as the original toy pillar. This staff is slightly taller than the Knight herself, and is made of metal. ________At this stage, Anakeion's magic manifests the same way as it did for Squire: by placing both hands on her staff, the staff will 'freeze' itself to her hands via a covering of ice reaching up to her mid-forearms, and her hands cannot be forcibly removed from the staff as long as she is channeling. While her magic is activated, Anakeion hits twice as hard as she would normally: all force from her attacks is doubled, as if two of her are sharing the same physical space. At this stage, Anakeion may channel for 50 seconds.
After the battle at the Grand Floral Park, Anakeion's necklace has become entirely black, and her bracers have a strangely oilslick sheen.

anakeion: the wonder / the past life

Ϡ Anakeion itself is a large temple & mini-palace. It was used as a training center for Castorians wishing to learn how to fight. Ϡ In current-day, it has fallen into disrepair and rubble; many of the pillars and statues still stand, but large chunks of the walls have crumbled. Ϡ Visually, imagine the Old Temple of Athena or the Parthenon, although more sprawling. Ϡ The current Anakeion Squire is a reincarnation; her past life was named Amynta. She was the mother of a Page of Castor, her son with Prince Castor, although the boy died in a training accident shortly after acquiring his proper title.
Ϡ Anakeion itself is a large temple & mini-palace; intended as a 'home away from home' for Prince Castor and/or Sailor Pollux. When not in use by either Senshi, it was used as a training center for Castorians wishing to learn how to fight, especially other Castor Knights and those who would be working as bodyguards. Ϡ The current Anakeion Squire is a reincarnation; a thousand years ago, Anakeion was a woman in late middle age who looked much like the Anakeion of today. She died fighting when Castor was invaded by Chaos. Her name was Amynta, and she was from Jupiter.
