Knights were interesting. Albireo had to admit that the only Knight that she knew well was Siegfried, and…well, that was obvious. But she normally preferred seeking the company of other senshi, finding comfort in the fact that they had a bond, even if there was nothing else in common, but when she came upon the Squire with the cute space buns, she couldn’t help but grin and hurry over. “I love your hair! I just thought you should know that. I’m Sailor Albireo, Senshi of Swans!”
Her eyes roamed over the strange symbols that adorned the Squire, and she wasn’t sure just what they were. It obviously wasn’t a Neptune Knight, or one of Earth like Lyon had been but…
It didn’t look like a planetary symbol that she was at all familiar with.
“Now, just to fully admit that I’m a little out of practice, or just ignorant, I would love to know what kind of knight you are? I’ve never seen that symbol before…” But she wanted to know. Desperately.

It was weird, going out again, fighting youma. A lot more of that muscle memory had stayed than she'd thought would keep, but a lot had decayed and gone sour; with adrenaline on high, Anakeion was still finding herself with moments of freeze or flight instead of fight. It wasn't, like. Fantastic? But it was workable.
She didn't wanna fight any people, which was also fine, since skedaddling right the ******** away from any Chaos auras she even remotely had an idea were around was working out great, and that was ideal. Auras that weren't Chaos - ehh, that was fine, sometimes they were hot because Destiny City had a weird surplus of hot people with superpowers - like this one. Albireo of Swans -- the name would probably dip out of Anakeion's head in a hot minute, but the sphere might stay.
"Oh, me? I'm of Castor - y'know, Castor and Pollux? 's Greek s**t -" it all came bubbling out in a breathless stream of words, talking before she even thought about it, all on reflex - "there's not, yanno, a lotta us around?? Guess we're all spiritually sleepy or somethin', Iunno, I've been out of the game for a while, might be more now."
Pause. Hold. Then the actual thoughts kicked in.
"Anakeion, bee tee dubs. My name's Anakeion. Your hair looks real good too!"

Albireo nodded and looked thoughtful, yet very pleased. “Castor? That’s something new! I’ll have to ask around for that one. I’m not familiar with Castor and Pollux that I’m aware of, though might have been at one time. Corruption and leaving chaos messes with your memories, but I’ll look them up, Anakeion!”
What a pretty name.
“Do you want to be friends? If you’re ever looking for a patrol partner, I’ve got you.” Her hand reached up and patted her own hair for a moment, grinning. “Oh, thank you. I enjoy it a lot. I think it’s fun to try interesting styles. And I like braids so much. When they stay where they’re supposed to.”
She was quiet for a moment and then hesitated. “What’s your Wonder like? Is it nice?”

"Castor's, uhhhh." Anakeion grimaced, flickeringly, before her expression shifted again. "I don't think he's around these days?? Haven't, like, texted him to check, but things got reallll ********' awkward anditwaskindofmyfault, but he wasn't, like," she half-shrugged, not really committing to the motion, "supes popular. Kinda the type of guy you had strong emotions about one way or the other."
Oh, god, she was talking way too much. Poor Albireo hadn't even asked. She had a lot of feelings about Castor, most of them she hadn't unpacked even after two years without talking to him, and nobody deserved to listen to that.
"I could definitely use a patrol partner, though. I haven't done any of this in a few years, so, like... stuff changes, y'know? And it's..." she trailed off. "Dunno. Haven't been there in, like, forever." She needed to go. That wasn't in question. If she was trapped doing all of this again, then she needed to make her Wonder believe she was loyal as anything to it, so it'd protect her, but it was all just so much work she couldn't even get herself to start.

Albireo nodded, frowning slightly at the quick grimace and hummed softly. “I’ve never heard of him and…perhaps I’ll just keep it that way!” She shrugged, putting a smile back on her face. “Stuff does change, yeah. I can agree with that whole heartedly. If you ever want company going to see it, I would love to come, and if you ever want to come to my Homeworld…I have fireflies.”
She felt warm at the thought of the rainbow colored things. And Roy especially. “They’re fantastic and they’re alive...and it just brings me so much joy it kind of hurts. Like good hurt. You know, like when you see a box of fat little puppies or kittens.”
Tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, Albireo laughed softly. “It doesn't matter how long you’re away for. You’re back now, and that’s the only thing that I care about. Breaks are good for your health, both mental and physical. You’re back, I’m back and here we go. That’s all that’s needed in life!
She withdrew her senshi phone and snapped a picture of Anakeion. “This should work with your ring, if you have one. It does with my husband, at least!”

Anakeion tipped her head a little to the side like it'd help her get some clarity there, squinting. "Wait. Fireflies? Unless you're, like, super lucky or something, s**t's dead up there. Worlds or Wonders. Unless that's, yknow, new." She smiled, hesitant, but it lit up her face; this was a slightly less forwards tone of voice, something with a little more thought behind it. "But it sounds super pretty - I'd love t'see it."
And, well. Pretty girl. That did influence her actions and choices a little (more than a little, sue her).
She held one hand up, flashing her signet ring playfully. "Swear it feels like I'm gonna lose this all the time, jeez... and your husband, huh? Who's he?"

Albireo’s eyes brightened and she nodded, pleased that she would have a way to communicate with her new friend. “Siegfried. Of Neptune. He’s pretty awesome, if I do say so myself. We both left the Negaverse together. But. I think that the life is new? I mean, I’ve only seen the fireflies the one time, and before that there was nothing but…well. Bones of people. There were a lot of those but…nothing living. I named one of them Roy. He’s blue and he’s utterly perfect.”
She suddenly wanted to go back and see the fireflies so badly, that…was so strange, and funny…and a little bit delightful.
“I used to hate my Homeworld. It was this big nightmare place for me, and now I can’t wait to go back and keep trying to make it beautiful. We’ll make a day of it, Anakeion. We’ll bring some food, and maybe have a picnic or explore or something. Whatever our hearts decide to do!”
And maybe…she would have the strength to start burying all of the bones that littered most of the ground.

"Bring a shovel," Anakeion said, only half teasing, "got it, got it, that's on the to-do list; and make sure to say hi to Roy, I gotcha." There was a moment of flickering fingers when she wanted - that stupid restless urge to move, to write down that note, to keep lines, to keep time - she drummed one hand's fingers on her thighs instead. "Yeah, last time I went t'mine there was nothin', just bones and ice and s**t, maybe it's changed?? Probably hasn't, never lucky, whatevs."
But on the plus side, unless she managed to rampantly and wildly ******** up this conversation in the next 45 seconds, this was a theoretical new friend. Okay, so Albireo was ex-Negaverse -- that was fine. Probably. She'd said she didn't remember that much, so, like, totally fine.
"I work weekends?? But, like, Wednesdays are good all day, and Thursdays too, just... text me. Send me a message by Senshiphone. I'm flexible."

“Oh…s**t, did I say that out loud? I was literally just thinking about how maybe I’d be able to bury the bones…so if you wanted to bring a shovel, I wouldn’t mind the help!”
Albireo hesitated, slipping the phone back into the nothingness it had been pulled out of and watched the Squire. “Well, we can go to yours too, sometime. Just. Make trips of both of them. See if we can’t find something living on your Wonder too!” She hoped that there would be life everywhere. It was such a wonderful thought…and she wanted it to be true more than almost anything.
“Wednesday night we can go to Albireo, and we’ll figure things out after that? I can meet you back here…what, maybe at four? Give us a good long time up there?”
The flood of excitement that spread through her veins was…unexpected but so very welcome. It still startled her, the love she now felt for the place that had caused her to make that final push to corruption way back when.
“I will text you. When I’m on my way I’ll text you, if those times sound good to you?”

"What are friends for," Anakeion drawled, and tried very hard not to laugh (with about 85% success, but, like, that was typical; it was funny, in theory). "I'm totes down for that, though!! Wednesday night, four PM, you'll text me," she paused, lip between her teeth, trying to write it into her memory, "got it, if I don't show up you are super free to start messaging me like crazy 'cause I probably forgot."

Albireo grinned and looked pleased. “Will do. Scouts honor!”
She resisted the urge to hug the Squire, they had just met, and while they might be friends in name, hugging strangers didn’t always go over well, so she settled for giving a happy little wave before hurrying off, already planning just what she would bring up to Albireo when they went on Wednesday.
