They’d been trapped, some for days, some for hours, but they shared a prison all the same. For a long while, nothing had changed—except, perhaps, the company they kept. No one left, but sometimes new people came into a room.

Suddenly, though, the rooms didn’t matter.

Simultaneously, in every room, the ground fractured. It shattered beneath them, sending the unwilling guests plummeting downwards. Giant shards of crystalline mirrors fell with them, through an infinitely black landscape. There was nothing—nothing except falling, and each other.

For perhaps a moment they simply fell; everything around them seemed the same and there was no end in sight.

There was no indication that they could expect any change until, suddenly, they passed through a thick haze of black smoke. It was enough to choke someone, to cloud their eyes and burn their lungs—and then they found solid ground. All of them, together, collapsed onto a single white platform.

Knights, Senshi, Negaverse Agents, Mauvians, civilians—Mirrorspace did not distinguish between them. They were here, for some reason.

But they needed to get out.

The platform seemed to be slowly rotating, floating in mid-air. There was empty space as far as the eye could see, though it seemed like shards of floating mirrors twinkled strangely in the distance, like stars.

There was only one path, though there was no telling where it might go—and there wasn’t much time to try and examine it.

The platform they were standing on cracked loudly, and a hairline fracture began to splinter outwards, growing.

They needed to run, now.

Quote:
If your character was trapped by a mirror, they will be extracted from their room and arrive here! If you didn’t respond to the prompt earlier, you can still join! You can handwave that your character was trapped in a room by themselves or was just sucked in while the group was falling. This will be a dice rolling event, and will count as a battle (except for civilians, sorry! Civilians cannot get battle requirements, but provided a civilian has at least 500 words they can receive one Henshin Pen/Battle substitute item!). New prompts will be posted approximately every 24 hours so it will be fast paced. If you miss a roll, you can make it up, but any late roll will have two points deducted from the number.

Everyone who has landed on the platform doesn’t have long to get their wits about them; you need to get a move on! There is a single, narrow pathway that leads from this platform to something in the distance. If you have any hope of survival, you need to follow it! Roll one ten-sided dice to determine how your character progresses!

1-3: It takes you a moment to gather yourself; you scramble to your feet but by injury, clumsiness, or the sheer number of people that beat you onto the path, you get a late start.
4-7: You had a bit of a rough landing but you are wholly all right. You manage to make it to your feet and start your trek without any major issue.
8 or higher: You were fortunate enough to land near the pathway and manage to get a good head start.

Rank Bonus: Depending on what stage your character has reached, you may add the following bonus to your roll! This bonus will apply for every prompt! Civilians are the only faction that is disadvantaged by this, but due to the draining of Mirrorspace they are not as effective in this domain as powered characters! Sorry, civs!

Civilians: -1
Cats (in Mauvian Form), First Stage Characters: 0
Youma, Cats (in Humanoid Form), Second Stage Characters: +1
Cats (in Senshi Form), Third Stage Characters: +2
Fourth Stage Characters: +3

Please keep a tally of your total points in bold red at the bottom of your post! If you miss a roll, you can make it up, but any late roll will have two points deducted from the number. The lowest value any character can receive, even with deductions, is one; your total roll value can never be less than one. This means, if you are a civilian and roll for a prompt late, you will have -3 to your roll; if you roll a 2 then instead of having -1 for a ‘total roll value’, you will have 1.

If you make a mistake rolling, please just edit your post to say ‘void’; do not delete your posts!

You can choose to have your character fall off the pathway at any point in time, though they will fall in slow motion and then seem to disappear into a strange black smoke. A later prompt will reveal your fate. You cannot roll for any prompts if you decide to have your character fall off the path, so make sure this is what you want to do! You cannot edit your post to undo this action.

Any questions can be PM’d to the mule or posted in the Event Information/Q&A!

Andalusite

When the floor cracked and fell away, Andalusite was pretty sure this was it. He was dying and it was all this long haired a*****e’s fault. His hand stayed curled around the ponytail of the other lieutenant, and honestly, he was hoping that if they were really falling to their death…maybe he could climb on top of the other male and not die as painfully. Plus, that had the added bonus of causing him some pain. It would be like landing on a hippo.

He smirked slightly as they continued falling. “This is all your fault.” The words were full of a biting anger, and when the ‘hitting the ground’ moment finally did arrive, Andalusite felt all the air leave his lungs.

Scrambling to his feet he looked around…at the huge pile of people…it seemed like he wasn’t the only one who got sucked into a mirror…and that made him feel a bit better about the whole thing, oddly enough. Though…glancing down he saw that the other lieutenant was still here. Damnit.

“Serioulsy? Couldn’t you have fallen into a hot lake full of lava or something? Dumbass.”

The sound of cracking once more pushed the teal haired lieutenant into a state of alarm and he scrambled off of the platform, and onto the path.

It was every man for himself out here.

…Hopefully the other guy would fall.

Chrysocolla
7 + 2: You were fortunate enough to land near the pathway and manage to get a good head start.

Chrysocolla had been half-asleep by the time the ground began to shatter, unwilling to drift fully off when still trapped with an enemy; but sleep came so easily to her that it was the easiest way to spend time. She only really managed to realize what was going on when the floor was gone from beneath her - and then she was falling, weightless -
and then she got smacked in the face by her own hair as she landed, her ponytail swinging around with harsh force, and grumbled a little incoherently before breaking into a run, focus narrowed to the end of the pathway.

She'd never had much of an opinion on the Dark Mirror Court, but that was very rapidly changing. At least the training she'd done in the last year had her in good shape - a year ago, she would have been wheezing and stumbling, not able to break directly into a sprint after the landing.
--
Anakeion
7 + 1: You were fortunate enough to land near the pathway and manage to get a good head start.

Anakeion's landing was, in some ways, simpler - when she was about a foot above the ground, she called her staff to her hands and her magic to her staff and slammed it down, trying to negate her downward velocity at least a little bit. It worked, or it seemed to work; she shifted one hand off the staff, then, and crouched down into a runner's stance, using the enhanced strength granted by her magic for an extra push off the ground. She didn't know where she was going, she just - she just wanted to get out of here.

The Captain could take care of himself. She hadn't cared much for the kid, anyways. He'd made his bed by not purifying.
--
Babel
3: It takes you a moment to gather yourself; you scramble to your feet but by injury, clumsiness, or the sheer number of people that beat you onto the path, you get a late start.

It all came as a shock to Babel, so new, so confused; Hy-Brasil and her staff and Idrialite and his faux-weapon, the three of them falling half-together, and the poor thing was still in a little bit of a state when they landed - she stumbled into Hy-Brasil, shaking like a fawn.

Kolina

--
Juliet
4 + 1: You had a bit of a rough landing but you are wholly all right. You manage to make it to your feet and start your trek without any major issue.

Juliet actually just. Didn't care. That was the secret to her landing; she fell like she was a snapshot of the action, still somehow elegant and unmussed - and if she was a little slow to get started, that was more due to the time it took her to take everything in, not any physical issue.

Eternal Harmonia

Harmonia was delightfully warm and comfortable. Sleep was just beginning to evade her senses and the sensation of something warm against her back confused her for a moment. The stark white of the walls brought everything crashing back to her and her eyes flew open. With a start she lifted up onto her elbows to find Hopeite at her back just when the world shifted.

Her stomach rose into her throat as the floor broke away below, sending Harmonia plummeting downward in what felt like a never ending drop. "What's happening?!" She yelled as she tried to look around her as shards of glass fell with her.

The smoke enveloped her and the Eternal nearly gagged on the stuff as she coughed hard. Thankfully she wasn't blinded fully as tears ran form her eyes. The ground, a large white surface came into view and she had just enough time to roll into a decent landing, though it certainly still hurt and wasn't the most graceful.

So many others were around her now. Some looked familiar, others were new faces.

The ground cracked beneath them and there was a made dash towards safety. Harmonia pausing to make sure the Hopeite was still beside her.

Knight Hy-Brasil

It felt apocalyptic as the room shattered and she felt the sickening motion of free falling. She thoguht for sure she'd feel the impact of the ground come not long after her stomach met her throat, but it never came. Instead she almost felt like she was floating as her body adjusted to the drop.

A thick acrid smoke billowed around her. Lungs and eyes burned as the thick substance was inhaled. Tears welled up and the Knight furiously wiped at them so she could attempt to see...what? There was nothing to...

A stark white ground filled her vision and she prepared herself for the impact. Letting her body take over she rolled as carefully as she could upon impact, but her legs and feet still felt the hit and she didn't quite roll to back to standing position.

At least she had fared better than others by the look of things. Wait...where did they all come from?

Immediately a tremor and a crack appeared in the floor. "Oh s**t." She cursed.

Legs still hurting from the impact, but functional, the Knight moved towards what looked like the route to safety.

And she felt eh impact of something...no someONE. "Babel!" She said in surprise but didn't waste time. "Come on, we have to hurry." She grabbed the page's upper arm and practically pulled her towards the path to safety.

Or what was perceived safety.

Irkalla, Page of Cosmos -

Okay, so suddenly having the floor of the room you are trapped in split open and reveal a massive hole wasn't encouraging in the least. Irkalla attempted to skirt the hole and soon realized that she might have been better staying put. Taking for granted that the floor would remain sturdy was foolhardy. But it was too late to do anything about it now. Windmilling arms and a scream so primal was all that distinguished her relative position while falling through pitch darkness.

Oh she did not enjoy this feeling at all.

Who could say how long the falling sensation actually lasted? All Irkalla knew is that one moment she was beginning to think that she would just continue to plummet through never-ending darkness and the next moment she found herself landing awkwardly on a platform and she noted with at least a little bit of relief that there were others being deposited onto the platform as well. Gazing off into the distance Irkalla did note the pathway that connected the platform she was on to whatever it was she was seeing. It was then that she heard another faint cracking sound and found herself not willing to experience the same fate as she had moments before. Taking due care the page stepped carefully onto the path and began to move with a brisk pace.

Faustite, Captain

What occured between them, however much or however little, mattered not at all. No searches, spats, or skirmishes unveiled any path to freedom. The room stood merciless in its blankness, in its unyielding dominion over its quarry. They could find nothing more than smoke washing through the white walls, ebbing and flowing, taunting them for its vaunted ability to simply vanish.

Yet he and the squire, ever constant in their composition, found no answers. No portals out, no windows, no thinning walls. His own smoke meant nothing. Her pillar meant nothing.

Struggle meant nothing - a long lesson that Faustite learned swiftly.

The floor splintered, lurched, and groaned beneath them . His heart dropped through his stomach, his feet clamored for better purchase among fracturing shards. The walls promised no purchase - they loomed over him with that same sea of murky smoke, that same blankness, that same nothingness. Hands scrambled to grasp at jagged edges. The floor gaped and raveled out into the expanse below. His breath caught, his nails scraped at smooth peninsulae until nails splintered against the unyielding material. With flecks of blood to mark his passage, Faustite fell into the opening abyss.

Weightlessness lasted only a second.

He struck the floor hard, hands splayed out in youthful reaction to brace his impact. While his hands stung and burned in protest, he wrenched himself off the floor. Looked around. His gaze met a thousand glittering fractals that only stared back at him impassively. They cared little for his staring, and he cared little for them.

They were forgotten at once as the floor, once again, cracked. The telltale groan reached his ears, inciting renewed panic. His heart raced, his hands forgot their miseries. He needed to run.

And this time, he found the space in which to do it.

Ochre, Corrupted Eternal Senshi

"I don't think there's a…

"A…

"… ********," Ochre finished, sounding dejected.

But his tone failed to describe the gravity of the situation - a floor falling out from beneath them in the midst of their search posed an impeachable problem. Tired as he was, he couldn't exactly find purchase among all the fracturing shards, and he wasn't sure he wanted to. If he was lucky, his hair might catch on a piece and he'd be left dangling over certain doom instead of just falling into it, but…

He fell into it anyway, and then he was airborne, and he couldn't look back at his impromptu companion at all because the ground was coming at him fast,

and then he landed in his pile of braids. Face first, mostly. For once, he thanked his corrupted nature for the miles of hair that broke the fall - and helped him not break his face.

But there wasn't much time to dwell on it. Ochre realized, then, that falling on another piece of floor caused that floor to crack, and if he fell through this one, then there was probably another, and then that one would give way to another, and another, and it'd be like falling through the million little green dimensions that he saw whenever the medicine chest mirror faced the vanity mirror.

And that just sounded like a bad time.

Ochre wasn't sure that springing up and running was the best answer, but it was the first answer that came to mind, So, after hoisting his mess of hair over his shoulder, he ran for the nearest ********," he added for safe measure. "Uh, Aoki, do you see anyone you know? Cuz I think now's probably a good time to say your heartfelt goodbyes..." He paused a moment, searching for words. "Or um, we could go that way."

noir songbird

Scholomance, Knight

Weightlessness found him first, and Scholomance reached out a hand to brace his fall. But his brace failed him - his abbreviated arm impacted the floor just above his elbow, jolting pain through his body that left him utterly paralyzed. At once his mind caught up with him, reminding him that his arm left him some time ago. The knigth groaned against the surface as he waited for the initial shock to pass.

The area afforded him little time. Cracks and splinters spidered up underneath his skin, daring him to remain in their dominion. Bit his hip protested movement just as much as his arm, and his dentures felt jostled by the impact, and his hand ached with trauma from the fall. Utterly stricken with pain, he struggled to move himself an inch. And as that pain slowly ebbed, the fractures grew in depth and frequency.

Bleary eyes searched the scene, finding snatches and flashes of others. More victims, he supposed, locked away in simialr rooms. There wasn't time to ask. Soon, his lungs remembered to breathe, and sucked in air aplenty.

Few remained behind - only the similarly injured were peeling themselves off the floor, and each dashing for any safety they could find. He had to do the same.

Slowly he pried himself from the ground. Weariness married dull ache in his bones. The knight winced beneath his mask, and began his limp toward a distant path. He found no other alternatives among the pseudo-stars surrounding the platform. Perhaps it was folly to even waste time looking for one; he didn't know.

Leaving was his only option, unless he wanted to explore the possibilities of human flight.

Lysithea

It wasn’t often that Lysithea got surprised. But tonight had been full of them…and she was getting quite tired of them all. First Malus had been sucked into a mirror, then when she tried to follow him…she ended up not with him at all, but with Airi, and then the floor had gone, and now she was lying on the ground trying to really figure out how she had managed to end up in this situation. The one thing she did notice however was the fact that she wasn’t alone here.

There were a lot of someones on the ground and as quickly as she could, Lysithea stood up. “Malus! Malus are you here? Come on, we have to go. If he was there, he would answer and they would get out of here as quickly as possible. A moment later she looked around. “Airi? Are you okay?” The large youma was still near her and she reached out, putting a hand on his nose. “Come on. It feels like this place is crumbling beneath us, we have to get going.”

The sooner they got home, the happier she would be.

Kari

The landing hadn’t been so bad, and Kari had gotten to her feet surprisingly quickly, looking around, hoping to find where Malus might have ended up…he didn’t seem to be in the area closest to her and she quickly got off of the crumbling platform and onto the walkway before she ended up taking another tumble that she didn’t need.

Her eyes were burning and she tried to take in deep breaths so as not to start crying here in front of all of these people. It wouldn’t do for that to happen. She wouldn’t be so weak. Again.

But…one good thing had happened…she found out that Evan was also a senshi…so maybe she could start patrolling with him and things would start looking a tiny bit brighter on that front too…

She swallowed, keeping her head down, trying to be as careful as possible as she walked.

Whisler

This was stupid. One moment he had been having a rather pleasant conversation about things that he didn’t quite understand with a small senshi, and the next he was falling and the next…well…maybe this wasn’t so stupid.

Amethyst eyes blinked rapidly at the mess of blonde hair that was in front of his face…his own? Some of it…but that face wasn’t his, no…but it was terribly, wonderfully familiar.

“A-alya?” The name was choked out, and a moment later Whisler had broken into a grin, though it faded when he realized how much of the other senshi he might have also broken…but then again…

He leaned down and stole a kiss from those terribly soft lips and laughed. “Come here often, sexy? It’s really good to see you, hope I didn’t break anything, I would…I would be utterly crushed if I did…though I suppose that’s how you’re feeling now, regardless, hm?”

He couldn’t help it. The words all just tumbled out, though a moment later he remembered that he hadn’t been up in that room alone and he looked around for the small green haired senshi. “Kid? You okay? Are you around here at all?”

His hand seemed to be doing what it wanted, regardless of the fear his mind was processing at the cracks and the chaos auras and everything else.

His hand just wanted to play with the soft skin of Alya’s bare belly. “We…we should uh…go, I think. It seems like the ground is breaking. You eat too much again, Al? Or do you think it was me? Maybe next time we should just go to some salad place so I can lose some weight.” Whisler winked and leaned forward, stealing another kiss.

To hell with the danger.

Mathias (-1)

One minute he had been speaking with Delilah and the next the ground had split. They were falling through smoke and Mathias didn’t like where they were headed. He had lost sight of Delilah in the smoke, but he saw the ground coming up to meet him. He grunted painfully as he landed, rolling and the rising to his feet.

The landing had been rough, and now he was stuck in the press.

“Delilah?!” He called over the crush of running bodies, stuck moving with them, Senshi and agents alike. He was tempted to grab the nearest captain or Lieutenant and start forming ranks, but there was too much chaos going on and he still didn’t know if Delilah was safe.

If anything happened to her…

“Delilah, where are you?!”

Phrygia (0)

Phrygia had to admit that the sensation of being swallowed by the floor only to fall through smoke (which normally would not bother him if not for how thick it was) was more than a little disconcerting. Thoughts of his niece - the insanity that she was dealing with stuff like this when she should be worrying about grades and boys - were pushed from his memory as his body took over and only one thought took hold.

Live.

He landed and rolled onto his feet, springing up and turning his head back to glance for Wallop in the press of bodies behind him, but he didn’t see him, just panic behind him and a hallway in front.

“@&$! - forgive me, Wallop.” He cursed under his breath, before pushing into a sprint.

Super Themisto + Itsuki (cat form)

Their crash landing was sudden and terrifying. Themisto and Itsuki had been with a similar pair - Thisbe and Eta - but where suddenly yanked from their smoky prison and thrust into what looked like a level in Kingdom Hearts. Itsuki, who had been nearby, was thrown clear of Themisto, landing behind quite a bit of the other people in a similar predicament.

"THEMI-CHAAAA---!!"

Themisto spat and tried to turn midair to catch the cat, but to no avail. The fuzzy lilac-point splattered near the back of the path and seemed momentarily stunned. Itsuki struggled to stand on his own four feet and shook his head to try and get his bearings. Themisto, on the other hand, landed a bit further ahead and couldn't see the cat among the throng of people.

"ITSUKI??" he shouted above the crowd.

Then, the deafening crack cut his thought process short. Pure adrenaline coursed through his system. They were going to die here, weren't they?

The ground opening beneath her feet had made Sharatan grab for the other girl - Zeta - but her hands had only found sir, then smoke, and then finally the hard surface of the path below. She had lucked out in her fall, ending up near the front of the pack. She thought she heard Themisto and Itsuki, but over the clamor and cacophony of voices - some panicked some not - it was almost impossible to tell - definitely impossible to be sure.

“Zeta?!” She called out - adding her voice to the din. “Themisto? Itsuki?!”

She didn’t waste time staying still tho, she was moving toward what she hoped was the exit - she didn’t dare stop. She was like to get run over if she did - if not pushed off the path into the smoke below. She didn’t even dare risk that.

Hopeite woke up just enough to register something curled up in the crook of her body. Amanda? No... too big to be Amanda. She cracked her eyes open and no sooner had what she was curled around register with alarm and disgust then the floor literally fell out from under her. She didn't even have time to be frightene by the sudden fall because by the time in registered she had hit the ground, rolled her ankle, and was now hobbling, choked by smoke, towards what she hoped was Harmonia's aura. She may not have liked the senshi, but she was stronger than Hopeite was. And the officer had made a fair few enemies in her short time int eh negaverse. If any of them attacked her while she was down, Harmonia could defend her. And it would only endear her further to the idiot. Even better.

When she finally found Harmonia, her lungs finally clearing, Hopeite grabbed her wrist and ran as hard as she could. Why her first instinct was the grab the senshi, she'd examine later. There wasn't time. The ground was threatening to give way, yet again, and they both had to book it.

If anyone was going to kill Harmonia, it was going to be Hopeite. Not some bullshit pocket dimension.

Yeah.

That was why she had grabbed the kid and not just shoved her out of the way.
