Anakeion shielded her eyes as soon as she heard the voice call out, throwing an arm over her face; it phased her, but she wasn't quite close enough to be disoriented as much as it could have been (although her vision was blown-out brightness, but that was honestly kind of normal for as much as she looked at bright lights). "What the <********>" the Squire called out, making sure she sounded a little ditzy, a little brainless -- they thought she was easier prey that way, and she blinked away the lights as best she could and tried to focus on the strangling-shine of the aura in her mind.
One-two, one-two; orange, dark purple-blue, a long mane of black hair; she wasn't steady enough to chase after him, but she jumped as best she could (which was a lot, to be fair) and grabbed to try and twist her fingers in his long hair, trying to yank him off the ladder and back down to the ground.

Kamacite was really very tired and annoyed with his long hair. It was causing him more problems than he thought was fair. If there was a way to cut it off and stop it from growing, he thought that would be great, but as of right then, it was still a learning curve to work with.
He let out a distressed squeak of a cry as the squire yanked on his hair, effectively causing him to lose his grip on the ladder and topple back down to the ground. Kamacite hissed in pain as he landed on his back, his hands lifting to cover the back of his head that had hit the ground as well, the wind knocked out of him.
It took him a couple moments to realize that he’d dropped the starseed, and it bounced a few feet away to the other side of the alley.
Eyes narrowed in determination, he quickly tried rolling over, away from the squire so he could push himself to his feet and dive for it.

"Hey, hey, no -" Anakeion called out; her vision was still a spotty mess, flicker-bright, but the glitter of the starseed caught her eye and she dove for it as well, stumbling, landing almost on top of Kamacite - well, over his legs, at least. "******** you, no, not yours!" Even through that, she was still trying to sound ditzy, teasing; but it was strangled through the effort and her blinking, like it'd make her eyesight return any quicker.
(There were long black hairs caught between her fingers; she felt a little bad, because he was still a kid from what she could hear and see, relatively. But he'd stolen someone's soul right out of their chest, and that was unforgivable, in her worldview.)

There was an undignified squawk that escaped when the woman practically landed on top of him, leaving him feeling dazed and breathless. Even still, he reached for the starseed, trying to yank both his hair and the sleeves of his uniform out from under her.
She was still trying to get to the starseed, and he tried kicking at her with his legs, but she was on top of him, and since there was nothing else he could do, he tried twisting around to shove at her. “Get off!”
It wasn’t even as if he didn’t feel guilty about taking the starseeds, but it was necessary and had to be done.
“I’ll use my magic again!” he warned, his voice filled with distress and fear because he was in a very bad situation and he knew it. At least she didn’t seem to be out to kill him (yet) and just wanted the starseed back.

"I'll kick you in the d**k," Anakeion screeched, equally undignified. "Just gimme the starseed and I'll leave!" She couldn't quite reach for it, not without dislodging her weight from his back; so instead she tried to entangle him further, endlessly clingy, strangely strong. Even if her skirt was less than practical, sometimes, at least it wasn't anything like his -- kimono? She didn't know the word. Whatever. It was pretty (what she could see of it), sure, but it seemed awfully impractical for running around and fistfighting random strangers in stupid outfits at night.
But, hey, maybe that was how Chaos did it. She didn't know. She had no plans to know.

"Fine," Anakeion hissed right back, already resigning herself to the fact that Kamacite would run to fight another day. He was one person, she was one person; her capacity for cold-blooded murder was lower than his, for sure, but she also had to be messy. Maybe it was nice, to not see blood and guts and bone when you murdered.
Not that she'd know. (Amynta had known. There'd been no flashbacks to killings on Anakeion itself, but they would come one day, she had no doubt. It was inevitable and undesirable.)
She pulled herself off of Kamacite with a huff, half-tumbling half-sprinting towards the thrown starseed; one person wouldn't die tonight. She had to be happy with that number.
