Fav. Food: Pastas! Reynard enjoys anything with noodles and sauce; he'll even go for the Al Dente dishes.
Hated Food: Any questionable meats, especially pork and lamb.
Current School: BA in Science - minoring in herbology and plant phylogenies. He majored in Allelopathy and Ecotoxicology.
Current Job: Educator and adjunct faculty at St. Romano’s
Previous School: Sovereign Heights. Graduate school São Paulo College transferred to DC University.
Previously Employed: Earned a Scholarship to Sao Paulo University through Sovereign Heights. Took up an Internship with a Botanist in Rio De Janeiro. Studying both Allelopathy and Ecotoxicology.
Hobbies: Getting Dirty: Whether he's in the garden planting new herbs, or categorizing the geology of odd rocks he finds during his diggings, Reed enjoys getting a little dirty. No bit of mud sweat or hard work will deter him once he gets a project going, and only once he's completed it will he be willing to relax and let things be.
Flowers are Friends not Food: Its a bit obvious, but Reed cant deny his love of flowers and gardening. Growing up he was never allowed to have pets, not enough space or time, and as he grew older he simply lost interest in ever getting one. In order to fill his need for companionship and a suitable distraction from the daily grind he turned to plants. Starting with simple species like potted ferns and cacti. Turning to more complex species and blooms as he learned how to provide specialized care for them. He enjoys the smell and sight of them; as well as the tedious hours he puts into them. The beauty they produce has always been reward enough for him to enjoy them. Even when that beauty is short lived.
It's Botany Time!: Reed absolutely used to love fishing. Three years in South America ruined that for him. He's done eating them, seeing, them, catching them! Even when it should have made it more exciting. However, Reed found that the species of fish were far more monstrous and exotic than he was willing to deal with. It ruined him..he really cant stand the idea of gutting, or cleaning, or having the patience to deal with fish anymore, even if it'd once been his favorite past time.
Now a Monstrous and Exotic plant, that is an entirely different thing. Reed went to Sao Paulo to study Botany after all, and he fell in love with the idea of studying the make up of plants. Especially their toxins. Allelopathy and Ecotoxicology. They are his new loves, his great muses. Reed spends a lot of time reading up on, now that he's back in the US. Groups of toxic plants in the area. Extraction, and usage of said toxins. As well as their effect on other plants and animals around them.
He's going to restart his garden, and it will be bigger, and more badass, than it ever was before. He's already got some succulents!
Virtues: More then Fare-weather - Reed's ability to make and keep friends is practically non existent, as he's very very picky about who he chooses to associate himself with. So when he does chance a rare person who fits his standards and is also willing to put up with him; he makes sure to put his all into it. Reed keeps the few friends he does have for life, and treats them all like the precious rare gems he believes them to be. He's not just a fare-weather friend type of guy, he's someone who will be there through hell and high water. The shoulder to cry on, the best man, all those cliche traits that true friends posses he offers once that connection is made. After all, those kinds of friends are worth it. Work first Play later - He'd rather get all the hard tedious mindful things done first, before running off to enjoy himself. Reed enjoys having his life and priority's in order, and values the little free time he allows himself enough, that he doesn't want anything to ever interrupt it. So he makes dead sure that any and all things that may steal his fun time are taken care of first. I've got your back - He might not like what your saying, may not even agree with it or believe in it, but he'll be there; right by your side defending you the whole way. He'll make sure to curse you for it later of course, and remind you of absolutely how much of an idiot that particular move made you look; part of his charms really. However, that doesn't change the fact that he'll have stuck with you through the whole ordeal.
Flaws: Harsh Words: Reed's tongue is as sharp as his trowel is dull. He's quick, blunt, and often heartless when he speaks. Not minding if he ruffles a few feathers or lacks 'compassion'. As far as he's concerned he's speaking the truth and saying what needs to be said, even if others don't always enjoy hearing it. Wound too tight: Reed is a stressful, workaholic of an individual. Always a bit high strung, always on the move from one task to the next. It's how he's wired; the man couldn't stand doing nothing, unless that nothing had the chance of being productive in some way. Most of the pressure being put on Reed, comes from the impossible standards he's set for himself. He's always trying to meet his own high expectations and have enough time to do everything. Reed works wonderfully under the right sorts of pressure, the planned sorts, but it only takes one thing going wrong in his carefully planned day to set him off. His short fuse of a temper, and distaste for most people and their chatter, is often his undoing. Too cool for you!: Reed is very very picky about who he associates with. Feeling that those people reflect on him as a person, and he needs his reflection to be flawless. He will be judged by his own merit, and not by how people view him based on who he hangs with. His standards for his 'friends' and even the people he speaks to on a day to day basis; are often set as high as his standards for himself. He is impeccable, amazing! Even if only in his own mind. Therefore his friends must also be amazing, and he wont settle for anything less. He tends to tune people out, give the cold shoulder, and otherwise completely ignore everyone who holds no interest or usefulness to him.
Digging A little Deeper:
After finishing up at Sovereign Heights Prep. Reed decided it was time to leave. His life in DC simply wasn't cutting it; he felt stagnated, and useless. That he wasn't truly meeting any of his goals. That everything he'd been working towards wasn't quite the right path to follow. So he got his hands on a scholarship, that would take him as far away as reasonably possible; and went to Sao Paulo, to study plants of all things. Which, really made more sense than staying. Even if the US had schools, they weren't the sort he was going to get into. He wouldn't delude himself into thinking he was Harvard material.
Plus, there were perks to taking up studies abroad. Reed wasn't about to turn down free schooling, even it it meant questionable living arrangements for a time.
The trip to South America had one other purpose. One Reed would sooner die than admit to any living soul. He was looking for his mother. Thank the glorious age of technology. The Ancestry.coms, all those other wonderful, helpful sites. Reed had gotten curious, just before graduation, and had done the one thing he'd always been good at. He'd started digging. He'd always written it off before, as something he truly didn't care about, but he'd been an adult for two years now. People did ask, FAFSA and colleges asked. Not knowing, wasn't a good enough answer anymore. To just write her off as having left when he was young. None of that was a good enough explanation. At least, not for him.
So he went to study, grow, and search.
Until fate tore all of that into oblivion, and dragged him back, not quite kicking and screaming, to DC.
Reed doesn't pretend to have a perfect family, or life, anymore. For one he's realized its not realistic, he's not a juvenile dealing with low level problems anymore. Still, he doesn't go around giving people much of a chance to broach the subject with him. He doesn't ask people about their families. Nor does he openly offer information about his own. If someone should bring the question up, he's fine with mentioning that he's on his own. If not necessarily the details of 'how' on his own he is. It's a little easier to pass off now that he's older; than it was before. People expect a twenty two year old to be able to take care of themselves to some extent.
He doesn't mention death, in any context. He doesn't want to receive any sort of sympathy from others, or empathy, or 'helpful advice'. Maybe if he were the grieving sort. He's found that he's not, even if he is conflicted about the entire ordeal, he's not actively grieving. He doesn't want to know what kind of look that would get..someone who doesn't cry over a dead parent?
Previously in the Life of Prehnite:
Reed has a family like any other. A mom, a dad, the whole white picket fence with a big backyard and a dog deal; at least, that's how he tells it to anyone who asks. After all, Reed couldn't stand to be viewed as lesser than others.
While his life isn't overly dramatic or abnormal for him, its not the perfect little picture he'd like it to be. It's just him and his work obsessed father living in a 'more then large enough' apartment; close enough to his fathers work that he doesn't need to deal with a long commute, especially considering his fathers odd work schedule. It's also within walking distance of 'SHP', should reed ever want to spend a night at home.
As an only child Reed was raised solely by his father David Michael's. The whereabouts of his mother are quite unknown to him. Though Reed's heard the words 'skipped town' angrily muttered often enough; to guess that the woman ditched out on the wonder that is child rearing. It's a real reverse "Going to the store honey!" sort of deal.
Reed's father works as an engineer for some local tech company, working late into the night; always rushing to meet the deadline and finish his designs and team projects. The man is a workaholic, and while he is a bit of an absentee parent he provides well for Reed; in the roof over your head, clothes on your back kind of way.
The two really don't have much of a bond with each other, and aside from Reeds father checking in on occasion to make sure he's keeping steady grades, they don't talk much either. Even if Reed would have liked to, he's quite given up on the idea of their relationship by now. Why should he invite the man fishing anyways? It's not like he has the time for it.
Despite the lack of 'father-son-dawww' contact between the pair, Reed seems to have picked up some of his fathers working habits. Truly he doesn't even realize how much he acts like the man sometimes.
It's fishing time!: Out of all the things in the world he could do, nothing relaxes him more than fishing. It is the most boring, slow paced, patience trying thing he's ever done; and he absolutely loves it. Yes even more boring and slow placed than care-taking plants. At least with a plant there's an expected outcome! If the plant lives, then it grows and blooms or yields a product. If not then it dies and yields nothing, you simply replant. With fishing you could sit for hours and get nothing as a reward!
Reed finds that having something to focus all of his concentration on, in a remote and quiet place, is just the thing he needs to help him unwind. It allows him time to think, or even better, if he's got something on the line; no time to think. An unpredictable sport that at times offers him a much needed challenge..Him against the fish...anticipation and waiting....because at any moment something might happen...
General Weapon:A Pair of Serrated Daggers The Breakdown: Talk about your upgrades, what better to dig the graves of your enemies with than a pair of real a** weapons? Longer reach, stainless steel, a pinch of Negaverse magic. Who could want more? Contact with Prehnite's blades produce severe effects of Dieffenbachia poisoning for 20 seconds - causes itching, burning, inflammation and nausea. However, these effects are only applied the first time an individual is struck in a single battle.
Infused General Weapon:A Pair of Mismatched Katar The Breakdown:*The effect of the Infusion lasts no longer than 3 minutes before returning to his General Stage blades.
Wielded in his right hand. Always. A red, obsidian-sharp crescent lined with jagged, petal shaped, crystal-rose teeth. The fragile appearing weapon takes on an extra edge with Iolanthes essence added to it. Iolanthes binding with the blade allows Prehnite to harness her beautifully dangerous petal magic. Prehnite can make up to two slash attacks with the crescent blade, scattering out a crescent wave of 15 slicing crystal petals up to 10 yards in front of himself. Once they reach the end of the 10 yards (or if it's been 20 seconds from whence he'd made th attack) he petals disintegrate into nothing. He can only use the Crescents magical ability twice per battle due to the weapons fragility. He often keeps it hooked on his belts like a beautiful warning waiting for use as a last resort. He seems to favor using it for it's magical prowess, and ability to wear an enemy down, rather than as a primary offense.
The second Katar wielded in his left hand is for brute force strikes and parrying. A crude thing with similar shape to his base blades; a smooth tip that bleeds into serrated edges till it meets with a flared wrist guard at the blades base. The weapon seems heavily decorated with vine/ivy/Dieffenbachia floral like filigree. The first time an individual is struck by this weapon in a single battle they may suffer the severe effects of Dieffenbachia/Dumbcane poisoning for 20 seconds; causing itching, burning, inflammation and nausea.
❀❀❀
Forgotten Spell:"Taxane's Fire" - An eerie chartreuse green fireball leaps from Prehnties dagger in a radius of up to 20 feet; when it hits the target it feels like being hit with a baseball and contact is caustic enough that it can cause skin agitation or acidic burns. Lasting damage is up to the player, but the blast can also briefly poison a target; symptoms of poisoning can include a fast heart rate, muscle spasms and labored breathing for as long as the player likes. He can repeat this action 3 times.
Permanent Enhancement:Featherlight Blade - Scroll Found In the Rift This Enhancement gives weapons an additional magical enhancement that allows the weapon to hover nearby and gives the character a bit of control over their weapon when it's not in their hand. While they may manipulate how and where the weapon hovers (always within ten feet of them, but they can summon it to that range if it is further away) they will never wield it to the capacity as they would if they were holding it. It is incredibly difficult to wield mid battle without extensive practice, as it requires extreme focus to manipulate the weapon beyond allowing it to hover nearby, but under calmer circumstances the weapon can be mentally controlled to some degree. The ability to manipulate the weapon somewhat is most useful if incapacitated or trying to do a surprise attack, when there is time to focus on how to wield the weapon. No matter how much a character practices, it will always be impossible to telepathically control the weapon as if they were physically wielding it. Third stage characters may manage to make loose or sloppy attacks with their weapon but this will be difficult to control in stressful circumstances like battle.
Rugose Pendant: Youma Form - Verdant Violence A blackened, wrinkled rock set into a silver pendant with an indigo glow trapped inside. An agent or Negaverse senshi must energy drain the rock. Once drained, the rock will crack and disintegrate. The rock's violet light will then envelop the user, cloaking them in the appearance of a youma. A youma aura will overwhelm the user's natural aura, though it will not disguise their aura. Their youma appearance must adhere to youma guidelines for personal or player youma. The user does not gain any special abilities while under the effects of the item, and their current abilities are not typically hampered by the item. The Rugose Pendant's effects last until the character powers down or until three hours have passed, whichever is sooner. The Pendant may be used once a day.
LT: Trowel - It's more then a gardening tool! Its a flat, dull edged, bludgeon of sorts. Though in dire circumstances the trowel can also be thrown. Hurrah a flying bludgeon! The trowel isn't sharp enough that one can simply stab someone with it, not without putting a great deal of force behind it first; and human flesh tends to yield a bit differently than soil beneath it. It's sides are sharp though, so cuts and scrapes do happen.
Captain: Twin Serrated Trowels The Breakdown: Contact with Prehnite's daggers produces mild effects of Dieffenbachia poisoning for 15 seconds - causes itching, burning, inflammation of the wound, and nausea. However, these effects are only applied the first time an individual is struck in a single battle.
What's better than one digging implement? Two digging implements of course! Prehnites trowels are sharper now. He uses them both for Attack and Defense - of sorts. Still, having that back up Trowel is great for when you've already lost..erm..thrown, your first one. Prehnite is also using his current studies to benefit here. He grows Dieffenbachia in his home. Cute little potted plants, with a medium toxicity level. Prehnite has begun using sap from the roots of the plant to lace his trowels with.
General King: The Shovel - Heavier, longer, and more durable than a spade; shovels are the nightmares of cartoon characters and Senshi alike. After all, the only thing more deadly than a shovel, is a poorly placed rake.
INTRODUCTIONS and RELATIONS (People I've met, and my thoughts on them.)
Iolanthe: The most gentle flower in a world of thorns. A true beauty of the rift.
Ochre/Slate: Did it really take six years to learn your name? To sit and be a person in your presence? I owe you - if you ever have the wherewithal to ask - just - consider myself freely given.
Hatsya/Sonia: Sword maiden. Very clever, very sharp, deserves better than what she's been given, surely.
Ransomite: A blond conundrum. Array of hats and positions. A partitioned mind cannot easily be broken. Yet how easy is it to live three completely separate lives?
Scholomance: Puzzle Knight - The only being born of Saturn worth considering with something other than loathing, at any length.
Richterite: Sole spot of decency, a genuine act of kindness? Bury it.

Other/Plot Event Rp's Turn, Turn, Traitor He's happy to be a soldier, but at the same time he believes in the power, and maybe even the 'sanctity' of free will. An odd concept all things considered. Still, he chose to be where he is, chooses to serve Metallia the way he does. Even if he were to ignore all the underlying threat and manipulation; he would still chose to be exactly where he is...
To hunt a traitor is one thing, but to hunt someone who simply wishes to make a different choice; even if it's the wrong choice. He doesn't see reason in attempting to keep those who are clearly not meant to be a part of their organization. He can bring himself to understand the want of eliminating possible new enemies; from a purely tactical standpoint. Not however, a reason to try and sway an already decided mind, to punish into resentful submission. A person serving something they love, is worth ten times more than someone forced into serving something they hate. How can anything good come of it?

A silver bracelet with five round, opalescent charms dangling from it. Though this looks like an ordinary charm bracelet, when the magic is activated all five opalescent spheres pull off of the bracelet and form baseball sized spheres of light. All five spheres surround a single target of the wearer’s choice; the glowing wisps spin in a steady, circular pattern around the target about two feet away from their body. The orbs move with the target, but if anyone (or anything) comes in contact with one of the wisps, it will explode into a burst of light, causing a tingling sensation to whoever collided with them. This can cause up to fifteen seconds of temporary blindness or numbness to enemies, but at player discretion the orbs can also cause the temporary sensation of pain or lasting damage. The orbs will hover around the target until they explode, or for up to five minutes before they will dissolve. The magic only works once, and after the magic expires, the charm bracelet can be kept as a memento.
PERMANENT PLAYER ITEMS: Forever
Rugose Pendant:
Rugose Pendant - A blackened, wrinkled rock set into a silver pendant with an indigo glow trapped inside. It can be found discarded in Negaspace or the Rift. To use the item, an agent or Negaverse senshi must energy drain the rock. Once drained, the rock will crack and disintegrate. The rock's violet light will then envelop the user, cloaking them in the appearance of a youma. A youma aura will overwhelm the user's natural aura, though it will not disguise their aura. The Rugose Pendant's effects last until the character powers down or until 3 hours have passed, whichever is sooner. The Pendant may be used once a day.
The Seed of Growth was used to create:
A Short and Stout Crystal Pomegranate Bush. The Bush has bloomed from the seed Prehnite planted. The plant is located in the Negaverse, specifically in the rift near a cave that is an offshoot down along a winding path that leads away from the castle proper. Due to its strange crystalline nature, it does not seem to whither and die with the passage of time. The plant produces 3x fruits a Month between September and January. The rest of the time it flowers. The fruits and flowers can be harvested - each player may only take one per month as a keepsake. Everything on the bush is inedible - entirely decorative in nature. The item's plucked from the plant make pretty gifts, and are completely crystalline all the way through. Better as a bludgeon or table ornament than anything else. If you bite it you will bleed!
Seed Of Growth: Only a cloth bundle and ribbon remain in Prehnites possession - delicately wrapped within is a crystalline petal from a sapling pomegranate bush planted near the castle.
SEED Seed of Growth - A small cloth bundle, tied off with a delicate ribbon. It appears ancient, but is still holding together despite its age. This odd little bundle feels as if it is filled with dirt and seeds but it is impossible to identify anything inside. If the contents are buried in dirt, be it sand or soil, it will cause an immediate burst of growth in plant life in a three foot circle around it. Burying it in Destiny City will cause ordinary, seasonally-appropriate (if exceptionally hardy) plants to grow, but if it is planted in soil in any sort of magically-charged place—a Homeworld, Wonder, the Rift or Negaspace, or in Mirrorspace—the plants that grow will be strange and magical, reflecting the location in which it is planted. These may be flowers or crops, but not trees; the seeds are not enough to be sustainable in the long run, but with plot approval, a certain type of plant can continue to grow and be harvested in the area; players need only contact the Space Cauldron to outline what they are hoping for.The cloth bundle can be kept as a memento.
Side Notes: YOUMA ROCK GOES IN DRAWER OF NOPE! - Right along with bracelet of why, and Medal of "GOOD JOB FOR SURVIVING TORTURE", and the Energy drink that is nearly a decade old from a Christmas nightmare!
