One Foggy Night (5): As the seasons shift, the temperature changes too. It’s not uncommon for fog to roll in, sometimes from the mountains, sometimes out of nowhere. This fog is particularly thick and difficult to see through; Destiny City has issued several weather warnings and cautions being out or driving at night. It’s easy to get lost and difficult to see obstacles. Not to mention the strange, smothering sensation of dread and fear that rolls in with the fog. While there is sometimes the sensation of being watched, it worsens when the sun goes down. Some have even said they’ve caught glimpses of a tall, horned figure traveling with the fog. The news has reported that this is probably just a side effect of climate change and suspects that weather patterns should return to normal towards the end of the month.

Misted breath for the cool that had rolled in with the pressing evening dew, and Reed didn't quicken his steps. Didn't hasten to leave the vicinity any faster than he'd arrived. Had gone on a scavenging hunt - of sorts - looked for any tell tale signs of some of his favorite little plants.

Seed pouches deposited throughout the summer, over festivals and fervor, of friends and families partaking of wish granting and pod planting. Had found neither sprig nor sprout. Could wait though, expected he'd see little until spring - but the monsoons and shifts between oppressive heats to milder temperatures had left him hopeful.

Now there was this? A sudden surge of phenomenal weather. Roll in of cold - rushes of odd temperatures that snapped chutes of greenery into nothing....

Thoughts that wandered as the fog thickened, as he found himself encased in it - as if the path he'd tread had been lost - eaten by leaves and branches. Concrete that had suddenly coughed up earth and led him astray.

Reed pushed down the invasive creeping feeling of 'other', that rode up his spine. Like he was being watched. Like there was something waiting out in the fog beyond, thick enough to cut through like cloud cover. Thick enough that he could barely see one step after the next, and nothing behind him, and nothing before him

Shadows that chased and melded in out of nowhere.

Reed hissed his displeasure, watched the fog puff forwards at a breath and swipe of grasping hand, and then coalesce back into a single form. Not solid for all that it looked like it could've been.

Chocked it up to the usual reported oddness, shrugged off the prickle of fear, decided it was just his mind ******** with him. Animal senses on high alert, heedlessly, for all the wrong reasons. He knew where he was, a Destiny city park, just after dark. Itched to pull on power but 'waited', because what if he needed it later.....
