Corrupt Sailor Taenite - 2 + 4 + 3 + 2 + 3 = 14 (seriously??)

Taenite grinned, because even though the look made it seem as though Remarque had no interest in helping him, he clearly wasn’t refusing. That was a good thing.

He also had the feeling that he wasn’t being told something about his mirror idea, since Remarque wasn’t even bothering to say thank you. How rude.

“Of course, Your Highness,” he swept a hand across his chest in a gesture like a bow, although it was neither mocking nor serious. Remarque was a Prince, and while the Negaverse may not be explicit allies with them, they were still fighting the same monster at the moment.

He fell back as instructed, and even picked up something to throw at the monster. He was determined to get something more out of this guy than grumpy looks and vague answers. Maybe not this time around, but eventually.

Valhalla, Transcended Knight of Jupiter - 4 + 7 + 11 + 5 + 10 = 37

Valhalla didn’t blame Ganymede for being protective, but he was also quite capable as a Knight. He’d seen his fair share of battles, had fought against Laurelite and countless others. He might not have the same raw strength as his older brother, or the same wit as his younger brother, but he thought he did pretty well.

He winced as the monster blinded everyone with its bright light, holding his arm over his eyes, and tried standing in front of Ganymede to help block any ill effects from hitting her. He didn’t have to ask her if she was okay -- all it took was a quick look. If she needed assistance she would have said so. He trusted her to say as much. Just as she knew he would say something if he needed help.

At least he wasn’t trying to attack the bleeding, spluttering monster with his shoes. With Valkyrie’s energy basically depleted, he went along with Ganymede and Benitoite and took his staff to swing at the monster.

“I think we should get back,” he said after they made their most recent strike, reaching out to try and take hold of Ganymede’s hand to pull her back. The monster looked like it was ready to pop, and if it sprayed them with the white energy, it could be enough to send them to the hospital.

Super Sailor Monoceros: 3 + 0 + 5 + 8 + 10 = 26

Monoceros panted with exertion, having barely dodged the strange ichor the monster bled. He could practically feel it boiling the air as it shot past him, and he had to fight down the urge to throw up. At least the monster was almost dead. It hadn't been able to get off its strange laser-mouth-shot thing.

...This was the most intense game of laser tag he'd ever played. Shaking his head free of those thoughts, he roared and got in close to an area the monster still wasn't bleeding from—yet. He let off his Quill Burst again before wheeling back away from the monster as fast as he could. The shaking ground made that difficult, but he was sure that if this thing ended up exploding, he didn't want to be near it any longer. It would die soon, of that he was sure.

Agent Thorite: 0 + 0 + 7 + 3 + 9 = 19

Oh, G-d. He didn't want to be here. He wasn't strong, like many of the people around him. Swallowing back his fear, he continued to wail on the monster with his beating stick, hissing when he was burned by a spurt of blood.

He hoped this would be over soon, and by the looks of it, it would be.

Corrupt Senshi Lazurite - 2 + 9 + 5 + 3 + 5

Oh, thank god. The monster fell, and Lazurite hadn't been crushed by it! A small victory, but a victory none the less. She looked around for Jett and chewed on her lip, clutching his cape around her just a little tighter and picking up another rock.

There was no way in hell she was going to get closer to that thing again. No way she was going to get sprayed with that...acid or whatever...but...

Rocks were easy.

Polaris Page Starlight - (not rolling)

If he’d learned anything from this, it’s that he wasn’t ready to fight. He didn’t want to be around giant monsters, he didn’t want to be around lasers, and stomping giants. He wanted to be home.

He wasn’t a hero. He wasn’t even a fighter, not like this.

All he could think was that any damage he’d taken could have gotten him completely outed. If he’d wound up in the hospital, how was he supposed to explain this?

He’d promised Nick and Arias he wasn’t powering up. He’d told them that he was being responsible and not going out to do anything without them.

This was exactly the sort of thing that could get him in trouble. Oh, and hurt. Or killed.

But, he’d saved a cat, that had to count for something, right?

He’d done next to no damage to this thing; throwing a rock? Really? What did he think he was doing.

There were so many other Senshi, and Knights, and people he didn’t recognize. They seemed like they were taking it down, and it helped absolve the growing guilt in the pit of his stomach.

He wanted to do more. Wanted to be better.

But he still had a long way to go.

He swallowed the lump in his throat and glanced back at the group, back at everyone still fighting. He knew he shouldn’t run away. He knew he should keep fighting. He knew that’s what he was supposed to do, at least.

...But he had too much at risk to throw it all away on hubris.

He’d helped. Only a little bit, but he’d helped.

He just needed to be stronger. For next time.

Next time, he wouldn’t run.

Dark Mirror Super Arnica : 3 + 10 + 10 + 6 + 8 = 37

Arnica was still too impressed with her ring--and a little jealous. He made a note to himself to go on a few more adventures--and, maybe it was worth some irregular nights out in Destiny City if it meant he could snag something so useful.

He followed suit and made the best of the few projectiles he had within range to continue hurling them at the monster.

Keeping their distance seemed like the best idea; it had already displayed immense strength, and he didn’t know what was going to happen when they did destroy this creature.

“I guess so,” he said, unable to resist a little laugh. This whole thing felt so absurd; he couldn’t even find it in him to be afraid of the creature when it seemed like it was only just barely clinging to life. “But I can’t imagine Mirrorspace is going to be much better when we get into it. I don’t know how we’re going to pack to prepare for everything in there when we can’t even predict what’s going to happen out here.”

Light flashed quickly--blindingly--as the creature’s skin crackled once more, and then ruptured.

The whole scene was illuminated in a silent, blinding light. A burst of warm wind erupted from the explosion, but unlike before there was no damage to be done.

This creature, some sort of cosmic entity, was destroyed.

Maybe, if things had gone differently, it wouldn’t have turned into something so volatile. Maybe it wasn’t meant to be something horrible and full of violent tendencies.

Maybe there was a reason the Merchant had been so eager to bring it back together, to put it into one piece. To heal it.

It was hard to tell--and he wasn’t around to give any answers.

The bubble dome was still in place, perfectly protecting him and keeping everyone out again. It was hard to even see where his shop was, but the dome encircled him, and the barrier was once more activated.

Now would have been a nice time for answers--but there wasn’t any time for it. In the distance, sirens and lights.

Of course it would have been impossible for the city to miss the light show, and they were already on their way to the scene.

The dissolving creature wouldn’t leave anything for them to find, but it didn’t mean they had the freedom to stick around.

The group had successfully destroyed the creature before it could harm Destiny City--but there was no telling what they had lost in its destruction.

Or, what they had gained.

Quote:
Congratulations, you defeated the creature! It has exploded into a burst of light, and while most of the energy seems to have dissipated into the air, a few wisps seem to have imprinted in the debris.

As the creature is destroyed, everyone who participated in the battle has the instinctive understanding that this was some sort of Cosmic Creature. Only the merchant has the full information on it, and he’s sequestered himself away to avoid backlash. This was a creature of ancient power; it was something mystical and eternal, and though it has been destroyed, it is not gone.

There isn’t much time to discuss or investigate--sirens in the distance mean that the city’s noticed this disturbance--and you might want to get out of here as quickly as you can.

Characters should quickly make their exit to avoid the emergency services being sent to investigate! You don’t want to get stuck on camera--or dealing with explaining what went on here. There will be no more mule posts. Please try to backfill all of your rolls promptly, even if it is only a sentence or two.

Everyone who had a character that participated in the ORP will receive one Opalescent Charm Bracelet, to be distributed to a participating character of their choice. No matter how many characters you participated with, each player can only claim one item. You cannot give this prize to any of your characters who did not participate, however you can purchase more for other characters using Crown Tokens (until midnight PST on Tuesday, July 20th). You may also use any of your prize claim rewards (Individual Participation Rewards, Bingo, etc.) to claim more of these. If you have already claimed a prize but wish to swap it, simply edit the post you claimed the item in. You will have until July 11th before all threads are locked and prizes cannot be swapped out.

If any of your participating characters rolled 15 or higher, you made at least three posts with them, and you have filled out all posts for that character, you are now also in the possession of one Crystalized Wisp; even if you had multiple characters that rolled above 15, you can only claim one of these items to give to any of your participating characters. You can post an exit if you need to make another post, but you cannot roll for posts you missed. Quote:
Opalescent Charm Bracelet - A silver bracelet with five round, opalescent charms dangling from it.
Though this looks like an ordinary charm bracelet, when the magic is activated all five opalescent spheres pull off of the bracelet and form baseball sized spheres of light. All five spheres surround a single target of the wearer’s choice; the glowing wisps spin in a steady, circular pattern around the target about two feet away from their body. The orbs move with the target, but if anyone (or anything) comes in contact with one of the wisps, it will explode into a burst of light, causing a tingling sensation to whoever collided with them. This can cause up to fifteen seconds of temporary blindness or numbness to enemies, but at player discretion the orbs can also cause the temporary sensation of pain or lasting damage. The orbs will hover around the target until they explode, or for up to five minutes before they will dissolve. The magic only works once, and after the magic expires, the charm bracelet can be kept as a memento.

Quote:
Crystalized Wisp - A palm sized glass glass stone with a wisp that sometimes seems to dart about inside.
During the battle with the Cosmic Creature, the force of the explosion encased some wisps in a glass-like crystal. The wisps are too small to have ever become anything substantial but sometimes they aimlessly float about inside the glass. The glass is smooth and comforting to hold and, if holding it while in a thoughtful or meditative state it can unlock a cosmic memory or image. This may be related to some meta or deep space information, or more personalized based on the wielder. All memories need to be approved by staff and players can contact The Space Cauldron with requests for the type of information their character can unlock. Staff will work with players to give their character insight on a topic of interest to them. The magic only works once, and after the magic expires, the crystalized wisp can be kept as a memento.

If you are eligible to win the Gold Star Prize, please check out the updated prize information! You still have until midnight PST tonight to complete the Gold Star Prize requirements and claim this item!

Our tallies indicated that the following players have at least one character who rolled 15 or higher; if you are not on this list but you rolled 15 or higher with one character, made three posts, and filled out all of their posts, please PM The Space Cauldron! While you can continue to backfill posts as needed, you only have until 11:59 PST tonight, Sunday, July 4th to contact the mule about claiming the extra Crystalized Wisp. If you need to fill out posts, you have until then to do so.

The tension of battle disappeared from the air as the creature exploded and evaporated. No samples for the Negaverse, Asphodel thought. If he'd still been in the Negaverse, he would have been disappointed at that.

He glanced around as the commotion settled down. The area was choked with Chaotic auras he was tempted to confront, but the approaching wail of sirens and buzzing of news helicopters suggested this definitely wasn't the time. Too risky. Too overwhelming, as well.

So, it was time to get the ******** out of there and try to have a normal rest of the day. As he turned his heel to depart, the Saturn Knight noticed the shape of the Merchant's enclosure nearby -- and something clicked that made him angry -- but he would have to let that anger run its course without closure. Maybe someday there would be a better opportunity to interrogate him about what had happened.

Corrupt Sailor Cymophane

Cymophane breathed a sigh of relief. The battle was over, and he and Kamacite were relatively unscathed. The monster was gone. With any luck, it wouldn’t return.

Maybe luck would be on their side this time.

Offering his friend a smile, Cymophane said, “Glad that’s over. Let’s go home.”

EXIT

----------

Lieutenant Roselite

The monster exploded in a blinding flash of light. When his vision returned to normal, Roselite could breathe again.

Sort of.

There was still the matter of Bloodstone staying with him instead of joining the fight. That seemed significant somehow. Roselite didn’t have the brain power to determine why at the moment, not without spiraling into another pit of self-loathing.

So he didn’t think at all, except to long for the peace and quiet of August’s apartment.

He said nothing, merely grabbed onto Bloodstone’s hand against his chest and looked at him beseechingly, hoping Bloodstone would understand the silent request.

EXIT

----------

Lieutenant Carnallite

Carnallite remained on her guard even after the monster was gone, just in case the Senshi and Knights decided to use this opportunity to attack. The incoming sirens put those worries to rest.

They would all have to leave, if they didn’t want to get caught up in the ensuing investigation.

Not that there was much left to investigate.

Carnallite sought out General Jet long enough to give him a respectful nod, then stopped before she could flee the scene and asked, “Any chance I could get a teleport back into the city?”

She could get there fine on her own, but why waste the effort if she didn’t have to?”

EXIT

----------

Princess Ganymede

Ganymede let out a heavy breath and allowed herself to relax.

Somewhat. All the chaos auras in the vicinity still required vigilance, but they were quickly scattering. Sirens had a way of doing that.

She took Valhalla’s hand and gave it a grateful squeeze, then looked around for Benitoite.

“Until next time,” she said, but she didn’t sound happy about it.

To Val, she said, “Do you want to try to salvage the rest of the night?”

Gently, she tugged him along, letting a small smile play on her face.

There was plenty of night left, after all.

EXIT

----------

Empyrean, Page of Jupiter

Empyrean considered this a job well done. The monster was defeated and had not made it any closer to the city. Casualties were minimal, if there were any at all. He would linger to make sure, but the blaring sirens were drawing closer by the second.

He returned to Paradise and Pleione.

“If you need medical treatment, we can help you to a hospital, but we should leave quickly,” he said, ushering them both away.

Empyrean spared one last glance to the area the monster had been.

Peter would be sad there was no trace of it left.

Captain Lavendulan
9+9=18

The battle was over not long after she had arrived which was fortunate because the explosion of light left her dazzled. By the time Lavendulan could finally see again there were sirens blaring in the distance and by the sound of it, they were getting closer.

Rather than stick around or throw her glamour up to witness the aftermath of the fight, the half-youma teleported back to her bedroom in the Dark Kingdom where she knew the lights would be off. Last thing she needed was for someone to have seen her in her Aqua Shift and think she had appeared from the puddles to fight them.

For now, dinner would have to wait until she was sure that she could use a knife to finish cutting up the chicken without cutting off a finger; or at the very least boil water without putting her hand on the stove.

Corrupt Eternal Kamacite

Kamacite shielded his eyes when the monster exploded, but he was grateful that the fight was over. Whatever that thing was, he really hoped he wouldn’t have to deal with something like it again. No cosmic creatures, no giant youma, nothing.

He turned to look Cymophane over, making sure he was okay, and then glanced around to try and catch a glimpse if Faustite was okay as well. He was sure he would be able to find the General later, and if his wounds were serious, he would definitely be in the medical ward in Negaspace.

Although he didn’t smile, Kamacite nodded to Cymophane in agreement.

EXIT

Captain Bloodstone

He was going to have a horrible next few days at the hospital. Bloodstone thought he could already feel the pages coming in, even without being a civilian.

But first he needed to make sure Roselite was somewhere safe. He didn’t have to question what Roselite needed, and simply teleported them back to his apartment.

EXIT

General Jet

Jet watched as the monster crumbled, although he made sure to try and grab any Negaverse Officer or Senshi standing too close, and teleporting them further away from the danger.

When Carnallite requested getting a teleport back to the city, he nodded. “No problem,” he said, knowing he was going to have to explain his wounds to Lovely somehow, and he wasn’t looking forward to it.

Anyone else around who needed a quick teleport back to the city was welcomed as well.

EXIT

Valhalla, Transcended Knight of Jupiter

Valhalla squeezed Ganymede’s hand when she took hold of it. After such a good ball game, it was a shame the night had almost been ruined by a monster. But Ganymede was right in that they could probably salvage it.

To Benitoite, he just gave a nod. He didn’t want to fight, but he knew what the Negaverse was capable of doing. And the pain it had caused Cybele.

He just hoped Ganymede didn’t intend on picking up the children yet.

EXIT

Paradise, Page of Cosmos

Paradise would have very much liked to fuss over her reckless husband, but they had this nice young man to take care of, first.

“Yes, we’ll help you to a hospital. Oh, this is Pleione. You’ve met Empyrean,” she introduced quickly as they made their way from the scene before the first responders showed up.

EXIT

Corrupt Sailor Taenite

”I suppose that could have gone a lot worse,” Taenite said with a laugh, giving Remarque a thumbs up. Because that's how you thanked a Prince for helping, right? Or at least not throwing him to the monster to be eaten.
“Maybe next time we can get to know each other a little better.”
