Given the goings on lately, Leucite was by his own admittance in a mood. He was having to deal with potential corrupt insurrection via Amphitrite, his body had finally recovered from an injury that had left him weaker than he would have liked, and to top it all off his new puppy was becoming quite the monster to train. Really, that was the most galling thing. He'd grown up around dogs, had even seen their training first hand! This shouldn't be this hard! He knew he was probably going to return home to a torn up yard though, no amounts of runs or walks seemed to tired the pup out. Still, he had asked for the pup personally, so it was his responsibility to raise it and care for it. This fact did not help his mood however. As such, he did not do anything to hide his location to others as he stood atop the building near the denser part of downtown. Let them come and fight him. He would take on any challenger that dare face him tonight. Order, drug dealer - it didn't matter to him. He was in a sour mood and he was going to work it out one way or another.

Prehnite couldn't have missed that energy signature if he'd tried. It was almost as though whomever was broadcasting it wanted to be noticed. He hadn't exactly been hunting, not this part of town; not tonight. He'd simply been lucky enough to be in the area. As his luck would have it; this was just the sort of signature he'd been waiting to run into.
Someone above him, someone, hopefully, with more experience and training than him. He hadn't had the nerve to disturb a general over his little need. He didn't want to inconvenience the people he answered to on a regular basis. It didn't feel that powerful though...
Prehnite took to the rooftops, catching sight of a dark figure perched; waiting. Definitely someone from his side, and someone of rank. Taking a quick moment to make it to the Captains roof. Landing a few feet behind him and making his approach.
"Sir... I'm Liutenant Prehnite, and I'd like to ask a favor of you." Prehnite could have kicked himself for not knowing the mans name. He hadn't exactly been running about making friends though. Just enemies...
Torvil Ahgahd, I can feel the pain that hasn't even started yet!

He'd felt the other Chaos signature once it came into range, and when he realized it was heading his way, he had waited. Leucite was not one to turn down company - especially of another member of their organization. So when the the Lieutenant landed, Leucite waited to hear him speak. Then, with crisp right face, he turned on his heel to face the other male. Looking at the other male, he kept both hands behind his back, his stance shifting naturally into parade rest. His eyes ran over the figure slowly, before a slow girn settled on his lips. "Oh, Lt. Prehnite, you have a favor to ask of me?" The captain watched the lieutenant for a moment more before continuing. "What is it that Captain Lecuite can do for you?"

Prehnite wondered, belatedly, if running now would be appropriate. He despised asking for help, even when he needed it. Even when he desperately needed it, because if he was ever put on his a** by some page with an oar again!
He took a breath and returned the the captains smile weakly. "Yes, though I'm loath to do so. I would like to request..if you have the time for it..training." The smile vanished as he spoke. "Specifically in the art of sparring."
He would make sure to remember the name, and was grateful Leucite had been generous enough to offer it. Prehnite was assuming the captain had some merit, even if he wasn't a fighter, he had to have faced his fair share of encounters to have gotten promoted in the first place. He only hoped he wouldn't be so utterly terrible an inconvenience that the man wouldn't give him time of day...

"First off, I won't teach you to spar." Leucite said with a small amount of chiding in his tone. "Sparring won't win us this war. If you're not ready to kill, then I won't be of much help to you." He looked the lieutenant over slowly. "Are you willing to kill, Prehnite?" His stance changed then, moving out of parade rest and quickly closing the space between them. Not via teleportation, but just moving at a quick clip across the rooftop to get within touching distance. Leucite got right in Prehnite's face then, using the whole of his 6'2", 210lb body to his advantage. "But of course you're ready to kill aren't you, son? You're a Negaverse Officer, that's our bread and butter. We can rip the soul out of someone if we want to. We are righteous bringers of death. God's chosen reapers made flesh." His hand moved to Prehnite's chest then, hovering over it with a very, very curious gleam in his eye. "Do you remember what it felt like when you joined up? The rush and pain of the power you were given? Do you, Prehnite?" Palm rested lightly on the other man's chest as he continued. "Because I remember mine... It was a glorious moment. Have you killed someone yet, Prehnite? Have you claimed a starseed?"

Prehnite found himself immediately looking up at the captain as he approached, quickly nodding his head in the affirmative. He felt minuscule under the Leucites inspecting gaze. Unworthy even. He hadn't realized from a distance, that the man had the sort of height and tone that would make a lesser cower. An undeniable presence of power, to back up the underlying threat.
Leucite was inspiring in the same way he was terrifying. Prehnite was glad for it. It'd been too long since he'd felt cowed into responding. He'd been away from home to long...away from where he belonged.
"Of course, though I might seem a bit more choosy about my victims than some.." Prehnite had never held his position..or his missions..with that same sort of reverence as Leucite seemed to. He'd always assumed himself to be more of a 'cog in the machine' sort. Though maybe he should have reserved that method of thinking to the civilians? After all..they didn't have the power the Negaverse had granted..More like cattle with choices than anything else.
Prehnite tensed up as the Captains hand hovered over his chest. Trying to keep the flinch of feeling the mans had press against his chest out of his face, even if he couldn't keep it out of his body. "I do..in a sense." He found it hard to hold the captains gaze. It had been years since he'd joined. His own memory of it was more like how one would remember an old scar. The exact details and feelings faded over time..
Prehnite frowned at the last question, the answer muttered. "Just the one." Certainly not for a lack of trying. He found his attempts, more often than not, thwarted, found that stealing energy was the easier course of action. It took less time for him, even if it was less satisfying.

The hand came off of Prehnite's chest and Leucite took a small step back. Still very much in the Lieutenant's space, but not so imposingly now. Keeping his gaze on the other man's face, Leucite nodded. "That will change." He said expectantly. "If you want me to teach you to fight, then you will learn everything I have to offer. Do you understand?" This was no mere lesson that Leucite offered, but an apprenticeship of sorts. "You will come when I call, you will swear your loyalty to me. You will not question my orders - ever - is that clear?" If he found these terms agreeable, then Leucite had no qualms in teaching him everything he knew. How to hurt, how to grapple. How to throw a person off their feet and beat them into the ground. "That means both on and off-duty do you understand? Your training extends beyond just the uniform. You must strengthen your own body as well as your skills."

Prehnit gave a sharp nod and listened eagerly. Was he really ready to drop everything and turn his life..his civilian life...over to the Captain? He hadn't truly considered it before, had hoped for just some quick tricks and tips.
Maybe that was his problem though, he hadn't been taking things as seriously as he needed to. They, who would stand in his way, weren't pulling any punches. Hell, they were probably readying themselves for future encounters. It only made sense if he followed suit.
Besides..Prehnite knew he didn't have anything going in his personal life that was so important, he wouldn't be willing to drop it. Especially if it lead to his own personal betterment. "Crystal clear, sir. Consider me at your beck and call. Whenever, wherever, and for whatever purpose..until you're satisfied with my growth."
This would suit Prehnite fine, he could follow orders. So long as those orders were coming from someone clearly better than himself. He had no issue at the moment, with leashing himself to Leucite's command.

"Good, that's what I like to hear." Leucite said with a small smile nodding his head slowly. "Now then, I suppose the best way to figure out where to be begin, is to see what your current level of skill is." Leucite took a few more steps back, then slid into a fluid ready stance. Right foot and right fist forward, left foot behind, body slightly turned with left arm up to block. "I want you to attack me with everything you have. Do not hold back. I want you to try and defeat me." Leucite continued. "If I think you are holding back on me, I will smear you into paste, understand? Good. Now, hit me."

Prehnite felt like he could breath a little easier when Leucite stepped back, right up until he took in the mans stance. Prehnite had, exactly zero, formal training. He had dumb luck, a decent weapon, and a will to play dirty. Heck, his weapon was made for playing dirty..so long as it was buried in dirt!
The command was simple enough though, and Prehnite didn't want to disappoint the Captain right off the bat.
Prehnite quickly summoned his trowel from negaspace, the weapon coming easily into his right hand. Prehnite charged Leucite, slashing out at the mans blocking arm, even as he aimed to stomp down on his right ankle. Leucite had told him not to hold back, and his trowel was an extension of himself. He would have been a fool not to use it against a clearly superior opponent.
He had a feeling that giving it his all, wouldn't be enough to keep him from quickly meeting the pavement as paste...

Leucite's eyes followed Prehnite's movements, watching the shift in weight as he moved, the trowel come into play. Even as the other male charged Leucite moved, stepping quickly to the left, then back to the right, bouncing from foot to foot before quickly snapping out a strong sidekick with his left leg as Prehnite got into range. The toe of his boot was aimed directly for the other male's hip. Leucite was using his own upgraded speed and strength advantage for one. He was not the kind to teleport too much in combat either - unless it was tactically necessary. He also did not summon his weapon or call Iudicael into play either, both would have been more than enough to turn the tide in that moment. But that was not the purpose of this venture. Could Prehnite hold his own against Leucite - a rank higher and unarmed. Could Prehnite actually cause him pain? This was what Leucite was looking for. His intent wasn't even to dodge the incoming attacks - but to cancel them outright with his own kick. Knock the other man off balance and then press his own attack. It was just like being in the ring. You had to keep the momentum going.

Prehnite was momentarily surprised by the speed and strength, the focus Leucite seemed to show. Accuracy..was something Prehnite knew he sorely lacked. Right along with patience..and the ability to read an opponents moves..Unless they were painfully obvious.
The kick taking him squarely in the hip and causing him to stumble back and hiss. Prehnite would be damned if he was going to back down though. He made sure to keep his arms up defensively, trowel ready. His gaze darting to the mans footwork. None of his enemies moved like that.
He wasn't used to facing someone..superior to himself. He wasn't exactly weak, but all of his opponents to date had been, at least fairly similar. He was used to a level playing field; and was grateful that the captain was giving him one, as best he could.

Leucite moved forward, even as the other male hissed and reestablished himself, he was taking steps toward him, and fists started to fly as he got within range. They were all quick jabs, three of them, to various spots on the torso. It would provide Prehnite with an opening though, as Leucite was not focusing on defense as he pushed his momentum. Right, followed by left, then right again. He did not pull his punches either, using his full force and speed to follow through with each blow. He kept his weight on the balls of his feet, ready to stick and move as needed. Though if he could, he wanted to get in a bit closer and grab the Lieutenant. The question was would Prehnite let him get in that close and if he did - did he know how much pain he would be in afterward? Leucite was smiling though, even if his eyes said he had every intention of killing the lieutenant.

s**t,s**t,s**t! Prehnite was only now realizing, exactly how lacking, how weak and untrained, all of his opponents had been to date. There'd been no speed, no tactics, it was all just brawling awkwardly in the dirt. Hell, the last one had pulled his hair!
He could take a punch though, and ******** hell if it hurt. The look on Leucites face, the one he could only look on with wide eyed awe, told him it was far better to take a punch and try for an opening, than to give the man any more access to himself.
Prehnite did nothing to hide his wince, teeth grit against the new pain, as he took another step back, and then quickly stepped to the right, making an awkward stab at the captains face. He realized now, that he needed to make the man back up...getting close had been a bad idea.
He was going to be..sooo sore tomorrow..his chest already hurt.

Leucite wasn't quite sure what Prehnite was planning when he stepped to the right, and had been gearing up to push the momentum he had gained when the other male suddenly thrust the trowel forward at his face. Having already committed to forward motion, Leucite was forced to jerk his head to the side, but the still caught the blade of the trowel along his jaw. Instead of pressing the attack, however, he quickly leapt back, reaching up to rub the quickly growing welt along the side of his face. Turning to face Prehnite he grinned. "Good job."
