Mini-Chapter 2: Festivals
It's that time of year again: time for celebration! With the hard time of banishment and fighting behind them, everyone is excited for their yearly celebrations. Not even a whisper of trouble could be heard. This was a time for fun and excitement!
Sauti/Zena
Summer is a truly celebrated time in Zena. It is only for two months that Zena is not completely covered in snow, and the people rejoice. The food is plentiful and the people of Sauti and Zena alike come together to enjoy the overabundance for this short period in a festival. They say that Bergchi still cradles the sleeping daughter of Ault even at this warm time, the lake under her shrine forever frozen.
Tale
The annual gathering of the chieftains has begun, and it is a time where all the tribes across Tale have made the journey to the gathering. This year, the chieftains agreed to house the gathering outside of Vers and Yware. It is here where the tribes will meet, the chieftains to discuss the state of Tale while the tribesman will trade wares, exchange stories, and simply celebrate another year of prosperity among their tribes.
Jauhar
The shifters have come together in an annual celebration of Serin, honoring their goddess as the day turns to night. Gathering in their tree-top canopies, they spend the evening crafting paper lanterns. This time is meant to be full of contemplation, as the lanterns represent their hopes and prayers. As the moon rises, the shifters also hang paper lanterns throughout the trees around their settlements, releasing them when the moon is at the highest point in the night sky.
Chibale
Another year has passed, and it is time yet again for the Alkidike sisters to return to Chibale and honor their great mother. This year, the sisters are ready to return to one of the most important rituals of the festival; the picking of the flowers from Aisha's roots. It is said that, when the sisters drink the nectar from the little buds, that they strengthen their relationship with Aisha and become stronger as a tribe.
Note: Because of their history and the importance of this festival, this ORP is exclusive to the Alkidikes only.
Oba
For generations, the Obans hosted grand progressions of their Army before they marched to war. This great celebration was meant to showcase their strength and allow the citizens to send blessings before the war. Now, with the mentality of the Oban nation changing, the progression has as well. Instead of marching only for war, every year the Obans host the progression to show off their strength and culture. Citizens are encouraged to join the progression to show off the culture, and even the royal family is part of the parade. It all ends at the Palace, where the King gives a speech to the nation.
Matori
Now that years have passed since their enslavement, the Matori have established unique festivals separate from Oba. One such festival is about to begin; the Len Harvest. This celebration is in honor of the great fish migration, a sign of the coming fishing prosperity, and consists of blessing the fisherman boats and having a great feast with the day's catch.
Yael
Every year, those who are able to make a great pilgrimage to the Sanctum, where they participate in a three-day ceremony seeking guidance from the gods. It is believed that this ceremony brings forth blessings of protection and luck for those who attend. The first two days are filled with prayer to Lurin, and the final day marks the great speech from the High Priest. It is very rare for a Yaeli to miss this ceremony.
Note: Because of their history and the importance of this festival, this ORP is exclusive to the Yaeli only.
Extremists/Elaria (Zinris)
Every year, all of the Extremists and Elaria come together to celebrate the day of the first bloom from the roots of Elzira. This festival represents the birth of the Elaria race, as well as the rebirth of the Extremist ways. The Elaria collect the tiny flowers from Elzira's roots and together drink the nectar. It is believed that this nectar will help further strengthen the sisterhood as well as connect the Elaria with their mother, Elzira. Because the tree is young, there is not enough flowers to spread among the Alkidike extremists.
Note: Because of current state of the Extremists, this ORP is exclusive to the Extremists and Elaria only.
