Mini-Chapter 2: Festivals

Quote:
Sauti/Zena
Summer is a truly celebrated time in Zena. It is only for two months that Zena is not completely covered in snow, and the people rejoice. The food is plentiful and the people of Sauti and Zena alike come together to enjoy the overabundance for this short period in a festival. They say that Bergchi still cradles the sleeping daughter of Ault even at this warm time, the lake under her shrine forever frozen.

Coeld

The brisk morning air hit the rising of the sun and shone a warm yellow light across the Sauti/Zena border. It was summer, and soon the brisk air would turn warm and everyone would gather for their celebrations. It was this time of the year, all those years ago, that the daughter of Ault gave herself for the people of Zena. And it was a time for celebration!

The people of Sauti and Zena came together, their council joining them to host a grand festival just outside of the Frozen Lake. The lake was said to be forever frozen, even in the summer, the daughter of Ault cradled in sleep beneath its surface by Bergchi. It was only a matter of time before the celebration was to begin. All of the shops and vendors were opening their doors, letting the morning air in and letting out the smells and scents of all the wonderful food baking and prepping for sale.

Eira - Post 1

Eira gave a little sigh, her hands resting on her hips, "This really is strange." How long had it been since she'd actually left her inn behind for an extended amount of time? It had been... well, some time. She'd been so busy running the place, wanting it to prosper, that she'd been only too happy to stick around the place doing just that. The festival was a draw though, one that was actually able to draw her out out the inn to enjoy the festivities with the rest of her troupe.

It had been a while since the lot of them had done anything fun that didn't involve inn business so it should be a good way to spend some time. Not to mention it allowed her son to see more then just the inn and the grounds around it. She didn't want him to be too sheltered or else he might not be able to manage the inn as well as he would need to. Best that she saw to it that he was able to run things correctly she thought to herself before she called over to him, "Callistos! Don't go too far, stay where either a member of the troupe or I can see you at all times!" She wasn't about to allow her boy to wander too far, not without someone looking after him... and if anyone look at him in the wrong way she'd sic Gyuri on them!

Given that her son was doing as told though, sticking close to everyone else, she would do her best to relax and enjoy herself. She might as well have fun with the festival, make sure the rest of the troupe had fun, and then they'd head home to the inn once it was all wrapped up.

Callistos Post 1

Li turned his head as he heard his mother calling to him, something that kept him from going all that much farther then he already had. The last thing he wanted to do was getting scolded after all. Instead he took a couple of quick steps back toward the group before he continued to inspect everything around him. It was all so new to him, not to mention far more crowded then he was used to, making him eager to see everything that he could!

"I will stick close to the group, mom, don't worry!" He said to his mother, even going so far as to scoot just a little closer to Gyuri, knowing that would likely make his mother the happiest since the big man was their bodyguard. It was the big guy's job to keep everyone safe meaning that he was the one that Li should stick to if he wanted to really enjoy himself. He wondered if he'd be able to lead Gyuri about if he took hold of his hand and tried to pull him along. Something that he might try out once he decided where exactly he wanted to go first. For now he was alright with just inspecting things from where the group of them were gathered.

Gyuri - Post 1

Gyuri turned to give first Eira a glance, then Callistos, watching as the boy drifted over toward where the group of them had gathered. He really was behaving well, wasn't he? To be honest the big man was quite impressed that he was sticking close to them instead of already running off. There was so much to do and see at the festival that it was probably looking to be a lot of fun for someone his age. Best that he stuck around though as he didn't want him to risk getting lost. The festival they were at was far different from the inn and therefore it would be easier for him to get lost.

He'd help to keep a close watch on the boy, certain that if he were to wander off that he'd be the first one that Eira sent off in search of him. Giving a smile he then turned to glance toward where the rest of the group, namely Borra, was located, giving a bit of a smile as he did so. Now, to actually find the right words when it came to dealing with the musician he thought to himself, taking a half step closer to him. He supposed that even if he couldn't find the right words at least he got to hang out with him, right? That was what mattered most to Gyuri.

Makani - Post 1

"This is meant to be fun, sister, you should relax a little bit." Makani said to his sister, finding it rather funny and a bit cute that his sister was so up in arms. She was so different when it came to her son, acting a bit like an over protective raptrix in a way. He almost felt bad for Callistos since it meant that he'd have a hard time having fun in the future if she wanted to keep an eye on him at all times.

Allowing a bit of his magic to flow around him the blond mage set to getting a feel for those around him, where they were located, and if they were a part of the group of not. There were others around, though not as close as the troupe members quite yet. Once things got really crowded it would be a bit more difficult to navigate in the manner that he did. Best that he stuck close to the others, Sin'qua in particular, certain that she would be alright with helping to lead him about if he asked for his help.

Giving a playful sort of grin he asked of her, "Sin'qua? You mind if I stick close to you once things start to get crowded and busy? Crowds aren't exactly my thing for obvious reasons and I don't want to accidentally bump into people."

Huyana Post 1

It was that time again! Huyana always enjoyed the festivities. Mostly because there were people selling and trading things. That meant he could see what new wares there were in the area. It also gave him a chance to fill his caravan as well as his orders.

This time around, however, he had a family to worry about. The crowd put him a little on edge since he had his children to worry about. Stay close little snowflakes." Huy worried that Hulis and Iriyana would wander too far away and get lost, or worse. Since becoming a father he had become more and more paranoid of letting unfamiliar people near his kids. Maybe we can find your grandparents. He smiled at the idea and set his eyes to looking around.

Iriyana Post 1

She had to roll her eyes when her dad told her to stay close. Riya wasn't going to just walk off in the middle of a crowd full of strangers! Even she knew better than that. So instead she crossed her arms over her chest and huffed. Though Iriyana did keep an eye on her twin. Not because she thought he would run off but just in case someone tried to take him away. It was something she always worried about. Uli was her brother, the one she came into the world with, and her fear of losing him was very real. So Riya always tended to be overprotective.

Zumei Post 1

It was odd to think that not that long ago there had been another festival much like this one where the extremist decided to attack. She'd been much younger and inexperienced then, but even though they were banished she still found herself keeping an eye out for anything strange. She was attempting to distract herself with anything possible, and she was at least glad that she had decided to stick around with Aldren and his family. She hadn't spoken to her father for quite some time, so going to search for him now during the festival was way out of the question. For now she would ignore it and visit vendors instead.

"You think they let older people try the fishing games and stuff? Or are they for younglings?" She questioned, turning to glance at Aldren as she did so. The little creatures had caught her attention and it was as good a distraction as any.

Kaalnia (Post 1)
~~~~~~~~~~
Who would have thought that Kaalnia would be back in Zena, of all places, having fun? Normally, she'd be at the festival, celebrating with her sisters, but she needed a break from them and their judgement. She was pretty sure that Kiki's exile was not because of her parenting, and frankly she didn't care. What they said about her, behind her back (or to her face) regarding it didn't so much get under her skin as rub her skin a little raw.
So, here she was, surrounded by colorful earthlings and beautiful ladies and surprisingly balmy weather for the ice land, novelty enough to keep her from wondering what the Chibale festival was like this year.
It was morning and most of the fun places were only just opening, or hadn't opened yet. Kaalnia wasn't going to hurry them along, but, well, she was impatient and she was awake. Obnoxiously awake.
"Hey there!" she called to a very nicely dressed ice lady, "Morning!" She looked interesting enough! Maybe something would come of it!
Nuawahn (Post 1)
~~~~~~~~~~

Nuawahn looked around him excitedly, searching for the people he knew in the crowd - or, more accurately, the people he was hoping to find. "Zuuuri?" he called, "Kunto?"

In his satchel he bore presents that he somehow resisted giving to them before, and they were burning a hole in it. He wanted to see their faces. He wanted to make them happy.

He yawned, rubbing his eyes, before resuming his search. It was, indeed, early yet. Maybe they weren't out yet...

Sol - Post One

Ice tipped fingers clung to his Papa's hand like a lifeline. As much as he found the festivities to be exciting, Sol was also a very, very shy young man. The prescence of so many others was intimidating to say the least. Every time his Papa would see someone he knew they would stop to chat, and once introduced Sol was expected to say something, like Hi, or at least try to seem friendly. He couldn't do it. Strangers were just so...strange! Why did he have to talk to a weird swollen looking man if he didn't want to?!

His antennae flexed and twitched in the relatively 'warm' breezes. Every time a sound caught his attention the antennae closest to it would give a little flick, which inevitably meant they were practically bouncing all over his little head in the crowd. While the movements were small, they were enough to frustrate Sol. If he was hoping to 'blend in' and be unnoticed then his hopes were in vain.

Callum - Post One

Unlike his son, Callum was absolutely thrilled. Festivals of any sort remained a particular weak spot for the man. He enjoyed seeing so many in one place under happier circumstances. There was food to be tested, dancers to watch, musicians, games; all things that should have been fun for his son, but seemed to excite Callum far more.

His eyes traveled down to the boy clinging to his hand, and felt his chest flex with a sigh. He had so hoped that Sol might blossom by now, but the boy was still as anxious in groups as always. Maybe, just maybe, he might make a friend here? There were enough children milling around for it so Callum had his hopes up.

Affectionately, Callum leaned over and kissed the top of his son's head. The instant fussing that came from the small boy was enough to bring out a smile in his father. Fuss all he liked the action seemed to have made Sol happier, which made Callum more relaxed in turn.

Eirlys- Post 1

The ice female next to him laid a gentle hand on his arm. "Easy love...Polaris is here." The Janarim formerly known as Pup, had finally gotten a name thanks to his coloring. Eirlys smiled as the beast walked close to the twins. He was the only beast she had with her at the moment as the rest were back home. She reached out to gently pull her twins closer to her, not wanting anything to actually happen to them. She looked up and around for any signs of the troupe. "Did Eira tell you if she'd be here? Any contacts here looking for trade?"

She was always thinking of helping her beloved out. Being worried about any dealings was something she usually did...

Hulis- Post 1

The smaller of the twins looked back to his Father. Nodding to the male he stepped back a bit, joining his hand with that of his sister as he marveled at the sights around them. He looked to Riya. "Riya! We should keep a lookout for Li! I think the troupe is out here right now!"

He smiled brightly thinking of their best friend. Perhaps Guyri would be with him. That would be fun!

Zuri Post One
        She loved festivals. Even the one back in Jauhar had been fun the few times she had been to it. But that was in her past, and now she was back in Zena for her daughters first ever festival! Her mate had a stall that she had help set up earlier, but now that it was all done and he was talking to the many customers she decided it was time to roam. There were certain adopted child of hers whom she wanted to see.

        "Kunto keep a look out for Nuawahn, but don't let go of my hand." She told the girl. Although Kunto was always ready to go Zuri wasn't quite ready to let the youngling out of her sight. She had a bad experience with letting her last two daughters leave her side, it would not happen again.
