Likes: His family, his sons, helping others, taking care of things, singing with his mother, playing among the trees, keeping busy, the rain, flowers, and some of the less dangerous animals that make for good pets.

Dislikes: Bullies mostly, Alkidike Warriors, dangerous animals, anything that might threaten his family, in fighting between Shifters, and on occasions his father.

ASPIRATIONS/PERSONALITY/BIO

Aspirations: The census is out about what it is that everyone thinks that Chalcedony should be. His father thinking one thing, his grandparents another, and then there is what he wants, which is to just be able to keep those he cares about safe. It is because of that desire that he will end up taking the path of the Fortress, starting with the first step which is 'guard'.

Personality: Motherly, to a degree. Chalcedony constantly does his best to take care of things to make it easier on his mother who has quite a brood to look after and usually without the help of his father who is often out on various expeditions in an attempt to keep the area safe from dangerous creatures, the Alkidike, and whatever others might threaten the place. He takes it upon himself to help in anyway that he can even if it causes him to end up a little lacking when it comes to friends his own age, something his mother scolds him constantly for. Chal can often be seen with some, or many, of his siblings hanging off him as he goes about his day, never complaining about it since it gives his mother a break.

The only time his temper seems to show itself is when he catches one of his kind bullying another, finding infighting to be the lowest of the low when there are so many dangers coming at them from the outside. Chal has been in many a fight over his dislike of infighting, something he knows to be horribly hypocritical but he can't seem to help himself. Other then bullies, or dangerous people like the Alkidike, the only one that tends to cause his normally happy demeanor to slip is his father. The man seems apt at pushing his buttons.

Bio: Chalcedony is the first born of a shifter couple, the first of many in fact, and as the oldest he tends to try to take on more then his fair share of the work. His mother is a sweet woman, ever caring for her brood, doing all she can to spoil them in such a dangerous world as the one they live in. On the other hand their father is a hard a** that makes his opinions well known when he returns from his rounds, causing a bit of strife among the family, but few stand up to him other then his wife and on the rare occasion Chal when the man says something he feels is out of line. Something that often gets him in trouble.

Currently the Shifter is at that time in his life where he is trying to decide which path it is that he wants to take and everyone seems to have an opinion, something that has left him a little dizzy. He means to figure out where he is going in life with time but he hopes that when he finally figures it out that he will be allowed to follow the path without too much in the way of grief from those he didn't obey. Namely his father.

~ Chalcedony, the helpful caretaker of his home, in one of the few calm moments that he finds in his life. Always taking care of his siblings, his home, and any chores that his various family members might send his way, he is quite often busy. Despite all the responsibility he has on his shoulders he tends to always be in a good mood. The only time his mood falters is when he runs across people bullying others, in those times he has a terrible habit of starting, and ending, fights.

~ Chalcedony has finally gotten his wish, the rank and power that he will be able to wield to protect his family and friends. The problem being that, now that it is time for him to head back to his beloved parents and siblings it would seem that another who holds his heart is going to Tale... what is a guard to do?

~ As a Massif Chalcedony has put his all into two things, that being protecting his tribe in Jauhar and looking after his sons when they are in his care. Aysun spends more time with him, the majority of it, while Chandra seems to prefer Tale. It's a touch awkward from time to time due to who his sons' uncles are, but he does his best not to let that get to him. No reason to worry about those two when he loves his sons so much after all.

~ Chalcedony has made it to the rank of Fortress and he is doing his best to keep those in his family safe using the power that the rank and his training have brought him. He knows that there is no time to relax, not while the Obans are still out there. He means to do his best, to keep his eyes out for them, and to deal with them if the need for it arises. He has fought them once but would much rather the war end then have to fight with them again. He knows that it's all up to their king what happens next though so he is waiting, watching, and preparing for their next move.

CHALCEDONY'S HOME

~ Chalcedony and his family all live in a large, twisted nest of vines in the tones of the trees of the Jauhar forest. Their things are kept in packs woven from the smaller vines that his younger siblings are in charge of collect as well as in the hallow holes in the trees. It's a big, comfortable, and interesting sort of home, one that never lacks for activity due to the size of his family

CHALCEDONY'S FAMILIARS

~ Poor, poor stupid, stupid frog... The thing chanced to follow Chal home and has ended up a playmate for Chal's many siblings. Berry, as the children dubbed her, can often be seen dragged around by her back legs by Isa, poked in the eye by Luis, and otherwise tormented... and yet she keeps coming back for more. The poor beast seems to think that it's just their version of love.

~ A brightly colored radaku pup that Chalcedony caught along with his siblings. The siblings were found homes but not Syndan yet. He means to find the beast a home as well... but it seems the brightly colored pup is still at his side despite him meaning to get it rehomed.

EARTHLINGS: SHIFTERS

The Shifters comprise a small, rudimentary tribe dwelling in the heart of Tendaji’s rainforest. Like other Earthlings, they stand at about four feet, on average. They possess long, rounded ears and their slim bodies are speckled with blue crystals. The length and style of their hair is dependent primarily upon their trade and rank within the tribe.

This race’s most distinguishing trait lies within their skin and eyes. Both features change from light to dark with the rising of the sun, and back to light in the evening, to match the silvery shades of the moon.

Personality-wise, they are across the board, although each individual’s disposition tends to coordinate with whether they are more nocturnal or diurnal. Their temperament, thus, greatly contributes to the form in which they are most commonly seen.

The Shifer Tribe shares Jauhar, their rainforest home, with the Alkidikes. Because of the war-like nature of their opposing female rivals, however, they tend to do what they can to stay out of the way and to remain unseen. They live predominantly in the upper canopy where food can be found in greater abundance, creating strange nests and hammock-like homes from the thousands of thick, dark green vines that twist between the trees. This diverse tribe prefers an elevated position where they can still observe the movements of the sun and moon.
