Even as a child Edathe was always mild mannered. Her mother and father would be hard pressed to find the young girl raising her voice or throwing a tantrum, most of her emotions ranging from quite pleased to mildly irritated. She tends to think of things as just passing waves of difficulty, not really letting anything stick as a lasting sour taste in her mouth and would much rather focus on the things she needs to accomplish than to linger on something that someone said or did.
She spends much of her time in thought, the topics ranging from anything Edathe can wish to ponder - her future, what she’s doing, what needs doing, her friends and how they’re doing, though she does tend to get caught up in constantly making lists of what is directly ahead of her, trying to plan what it is she should be doing and how to work that around the schedule her mother has made for her. Her personal favorite thing to do, when she’s not caught up in the now is to just dream about things that could happen. If she did something like this, that would eventually lead to this; though her fantasies tend to start normal only to turn into something outrageously fantastic, like meeting princes, going to far off places, or hosting fancy balls. She likes to dream that there is more ahead of her than to just be married off like her parents intended.
Her friends and family like to joke that she is constantly dreaming and never really with them, but no one can deny that when she decides that she needs to do something, it gets done. Whether it’s help a friend, complete her studies for the day, or something she personally wants to do, she will make sure it is seen out the right way.
History:Edathe was born the youngest of three children and the only daughter to her parents. Growing up in Oba, she never knew a life where they had slaves, being born only in the last year before slavery was abolished and the new king took the throne. Her oldest brother was always being primed to take over the family once he was old enough, but Nuri, the middle child, he was free to to whatever he wanted, or at least that's how she saw it. Even Edathe was envious of that. As the only daughter, she was expected to be married into a family with status and she knew that if her parents had their way her own freedom would be almost nonexistent for the entirety of her life, knowing only her parents’ grooming for marriage and then her life as a wife.
