Chibale Another year has passed, and it is time yet again for the Alkidike sisters to return to Chibale and honor their great mother. This year, the sisters are ready to return to one of the most important rituals of the festival; the picking of the flowers from Aisha's roots. It is said that, when the sisters drink the nectar from the little buds, that they strengthen their relationship with Aisha and become stronger as a tribe.
Note: Because of their history and the importance of this festival, this ORP is exclusive to the Alkidikes only.
Ekene
The seas were being kind to the Alkidike on one of their most important days of the year. The boats were coming in faster than they could empty out, the waters crystal clear and level, with all of the alkidike in Tendaji making their way back to Chibale for this very special set of celebrations. Aisha was readying herself as well, producing hundreds of little lotus buds, scattering them within her branches. They were filled with nectar, and soon, after the grand introductions from the elders, they would all await their turn to drink the nectar from their flowers.
Aisha only produced these buds in such quantities on this one day, and it was the talk of the alkidike. Drinking the buds was said to bring the Daughters of Aisha not only closer to their Mother, but also stronger in strength. Whether this was true was yet to be proven, but it was the belief of all the Alkidike.
As the boats emptied onto Ekene, the Alkidike gathered together, waiting to hear from the Elders.

Votzhem (Post 1) ~~~~~~~~~~
Votzhem was used to feeling out of place within his tribe; blue amidst green, male amidst females. He had come to Chibale to pay homage to his mother tree despite this, and had even escorted his unusually quiet mother to Chibale for the festival. He'd asked his children to go, and they had not. All of this was fine with him. These were not what made him feel so unsettled.
After all, he knew that things had become complicated for his mothers in his absense, and that his children were, after all, only a fourth Alkidike and not born of Aisha's branches besides. He could not help that he was a hybrid male, or that he looked so strikingly different from his sisters. Aisha had chosen to form him in this way, and Aisha had shown her love for him again and again in the cold of Zena.
No.
It was the absence of Kaalnia that bothered him. Every time he had been concerned or uncertain, his sister - for that was what she was - had been at his side to laugh and slap his back and make all his worries seem small and fleeting before her infinite cheer. But she was far away, exploring the distant customs of his homeland, savoring the foods and, he suspected, the women of Zena and Sauti. Why had she left him alone here?
Well, he wasn't exactly alone. He was there, beneath Aisha's branches, standing with his sisters and waiting for the festival to start in earnest. But he felt, suddenly, very vulnerable and alone...
Dyakida accepted the helping hand that led her from the boat to the isle that she had been born on. Peyla chimed excitedly - the sprite was always ready for a festival. But of course, this was not like the other festivals. Dyakida would not be selling weapons or otherwise doing business here.
Here, she was just another sister, coming to join in this sacred ritual with her sisters beneath the tree that had given them life. Perhaps she could drum up more sisters to order comissions from her, or improve relations with people who provided materials to her.
But she didn't have to. There could be a time, a moment in her life, where she could let go of her business cares and her worries, and simply be an Alkidike with her tribe. And this was it.
She breathed in the familiar air, and listened to the familiar sounds of the sea and her Sisters, and smiled.
This, indeed, was it.

Mnyiri - Post One
Mnyiri as all a flutter with emotion.
It was awe inspiring to say the least, being this close to the mother. Their mother. Seeing her branches laden with a plethora of little blossoms brought Mnyiri back to her childhood. She felt like a young one again; so full of wonderment and a terrible case of jitters.
Even with the extremists banished Mnyiri still felt on edge around such a large group of her sisters. For all of her charm and smiles there were still those that snubbed her, but the young warrior was determined to avoid those sorts like the plague.
Today was all about coming back to her roots (no pun intended. Or perhaps it was?) and so Mnyiri moved about her mingling sisters. She gave out greetings to anyone who seemed receptive, even stopping to chat with a few here and there. The more she talked the louder the bells in her dreads became.
Although she had gone back to the dessert after the tournament was over she had promised her mother that she would come for the festival. She would never miss it, not for the world. It was a celebration of who she was, of her mother Aisha. This time she would also get to see her sister! She was still getting use to having a sister, it was a wonderful feeling indeed! So after saying hello to her mother and her aunt Dya she headed off to look for said sister.
"Mnyiri?" She called. Really the halfling shouldn't be all that hard to find. She hoped her sister would be there, without the extremists there should be no reason that Mnyiri wouldn't be allowed to come see Aisha and celebrate with them all. She hoped to find her sister before the Elders started to talk.
Briella loved the feeling that being near Aisha gave her. It was so wonderful. Just by being on the same island as Aisha she felt more connected to who she was and just over all more happy. She got to see her daughter as well, which was a plus since Ilyra had moved across the world pretty much. As much as she respected her daughter's choice she really did hope the move was only temporary.
Seeing out Dyakida Briella soon found the blind weapons maker. "Dya," She said with a smile before placing her hand on the other woman's shoulder. "Doesn't this whole place just feel wonderful?"
She both heard her name being called, and didn't all at once. Some of the sisters she was speaking with had said her name at the same time, so while the young warrior didn't hear her sister, when she tilted her head to speak with another she did see her. With a few hasty apologies, Mnyiri scampered away from the group with a loud cheer. "Ilyra!" She was so happy to see her again after what felt like agggessss that Mnyiri didn't seem to care about the volume in her voice.
Nor did she care about decorum, tact, or propriety. She threw her arms out and scooped her sister into a tight hug, whether she liked it or not. "Goddess, it's so good to see you! I've missed you so much! How was your trip? I want details, all the details, even the ones you don't think someone would want to know about I definitely want to know about them."

Dyakida (Post 2) ~~~~~~~~~~
Dyakida smiled at the familiar voice. "Briella." she greeted warmly. It was always nice to see her old friend. They'd been close once. She had once known so much about Brie, but now she had forgotten her markings for the most part and the shape of her face. A whole chunk of her history was no longer known to her. All that remained was her familiar voice. Could she ask about that missing time, or would a mere voice be enough?
"Yes, wonderful indeed..." she said, touching her hand, "It's been a while since the tribe could come here like this, without the shadow of something else hanging over us." she remarked.
Oh! There was someone he knew! Ilyra, his niece, stood out in the crowd almost as much as he did - more, even, with her strange coloring. Kaalnia had once laughed at him when he'd described the girl as a 'jewel', but amid the greens and dark blues of Jauhar, she was a bright and shimmering color. Also, she was sharp, not unlike a crystal.
Either way, she was not hard to find in a crowd, and he wondered briefly if her mother - Kaalnia's sister - was nearby.
He seemed to be interrupting a reunion - a sort of event he knew far too well - so he stood back and waited as Ilyra greeted... Oh? Was that a hybrid? Unless she whitened her hair for some reason, then half-shifter was likely the case. His anxiety eased somewhat. Sure, she could probably pass for a pureblood, but it was nice to know that he wasn't alone here.
"Hello, Ilyra." he said, waving at her, content to just let her know he was there and not, necessarily, interact...

XD What do you think about that? Big ol group family rp?
She laughed at her sister, and when Mnyiri hugged her tight Ilyra squeezed back. It was amazing how two people could go their life without knowing about each other and as soon as they meet have such a strong connection. "I've missed you Mnyiri." she said as she stepped back, looking over her sister to make sure she was all in one piece.
"For all the details we're going to have to go to Briella's house after all this! There is a lot to tell you. I want to hear about your adventures as well. Did you ever find out more about your friends past?" She had been wondering about the earthling with memory issues. She had some hardships in her life sure, but at least she knew who she was.
At hearing her name called Ilyra turned to see Votzhem. She smiled at the hybrid. "Hello Votzhem! This is my sister Mnyiri, Mnyiri this is my uncle Votzhem." She said looking from one of them to the other. It seemed this even was to be a family reunion of sorts.
As more boats landed, the crowd gathering near Aisha grew slowly into a large swarm, all of the women ready and waiting to hear from their elders and to receive their present from their Mother.
Eshe came forward from the other elders, ready to make her speech. She began with her introduction, thanking all of the Sisters for joining on the island, and working into the commencement of the ceremony. "Aisha has produced many flowers for us today Sisters. Our Mother wishes us to be strong, and has promised us the nectar from her buds."
[The next NPC post will allow the Alkidike to approach Aisha.]

Votzhem (Post 3) ~~~~~~~~~~
"Hello!" he said, smiling as he approached a bit closer. "It's good to meet you, Sister." he looked around at the gathering swarm of Alkidike. It wasn't as many as there should be, he felt, though he was glad to be among them. If, indeed, he was allowed to be among them and drink from their Mother's flowers with them. That had yet to be seen. There was always someone who objected to hybrids being granted such a priviledge, and more still who objected to males, but he felt he had a right to the flowers. After all, he had been born from Her boughs.
"There are a lot of Sisters abroad, it looks like." he commented. Kaalnia, for one. Others, he was sure. "Is your mother about?"
Dyakida could hear her Sisters gathering, their voices a perfect mirror for the murmuring leaves above. Faint memories from her past told her that it was a beautiful sight - blue sky, indigo leaves, the green skin of the Alkidike gathering beneath the tree, and the bright flowers sprouting from the roots. Not to mention, of course, the lotuses gleaming like jewels, holding the Sisters (and Brothers) not yet born. She'd found it pretty, once.
She reached for Briella as the Mystic began to speak. "Ah, it's starting already." she said, breathlessly excited. She wondered what the elders would have to say this year. So much, after all, had happened to their tribe. What, indeed, would be the guidance of the elders?

Mnyiri - Post Three
"We're going to have so much to talk about and that tidbit will be included," Mnyiri grinned. If she started jabbering on about all of that now there wouldn't be any time for the festival! Not that she would have minded; the festivities were very important but not as important to Mnyiri as her sister.
Uncle? Mnyiri turned her head to see a hybrid, of all things!, and a man at that! She hadn't seen to many mixed bloods beyond herself in the grouping, let alone one with that much facial hair. "A pleasure to meet you, Votzhem. So, you're Ilyra's uncle, huh? I bet you have all kinds of embarrassing stories to sha-"
Her grin shifted a little as her attention changed from one face to another. When had the gathering gotten so large? It seemed that in the time it took her to greet two sisters (or was one a brother?) the whole area had become congested with alkidike. In all honesty she could only remember precious few about attending these ceremonies; most of the time Mnyiri had been too busy chatting it up with some pretty face instead of paying attention like her mothers' wanted her to.

Ekene
With Eshe's speech finished the Alkidike were allowed to approach Aisha and to each take a bud as their own. Delicately they picked it from their Mother, thanking Her for the gift they were receiving and taking their bud back to the crowd.
Those with their flowers already delicately peeled back just a small section, just enough to open up the tightly packed petals and sipped the small amount of nectar from the buds. It was sweet, almost like a candy, and once it was gone they waited patiently for the rest of the Alkidike to have their turn. It was then that the real celebrating began.
Once situated, some of the more experienced Alkidike Sisters ushered the rest of the crowd back to the village of Ekene and further away from Aisha, the music from the drums starting up and beginning the afternoon's festivities.
