ASPIRATIONS/PERSONALITY/BIO

Aspirations: Despite everything that he dealt with as a child Incanthis wants to be a healer. He learned the skills from his mother when he younger, using those skills to help take care of Isaris who was weaker then his other brothers. His desire to be a healer didn't quite mesh with what his father felt his son should be, as such he was one of Issao's least favorite sons. Him taking over the care for Isaris, even shielding his little brother from their father at times, only making that distaste grow. It's something that only strengthened Incanthis's resolve though.

Personality: Incanthis is the sort of guy that will do whatever is required of him for those that he loves, wanting to take care of everyone around him, to the point of being accused of being too 'motherly' at times in the past. When the need for it arose Incanthis offered himself up for the safety of one of his older brothers, giving himself and his healing knowledge over to the Obans in exchange for them letting his older brother walk away. A sacrifice that he saw as being a worthwhile one, Illian was always stronger then he was after all and a better fighter, he was more important to the family. In that way Incanthis is also tactical in a way, feeling that he knew at the time what the family needed most, and it wasn't a motherly figure, it was someone strong.

His compassion will even extend his help those that might not be exactly 'worthy' of the help, such as scary and dangerous people, like those who he was captured by for instance. He has the heart and soul of a healer though, instilled in him by his mother, and he is unable to turn anyone in need away. It's why he found himself unable to ignore the injured Obans during the war, still healing them even after everything that he'd seen them do. If someone is injured or ill they are a patient before they are an enemy in his mind. He does what comes naturally, tending to them and helping them get back on their feel even though once they are better he likely wouldn't give the 'bad ones' the time of day if he doesn't have to.

At times, due to his kind heart and personal code, Incanthis can be seen as a bit of a door mat, getting walked all over by those stronger then him, ordered around and pushed around, but he puts up with it. He knows his own heart and even if those around him want to bully him he will try to keep his head held high. The thing that really gets to him though is that he knows there are those who see him as a traitor due to what he did during war times, both people who didn't know or don't care about the whole story. Just the mere fact alone that he aided the Obans is enough for some to look upon him in a distasteful manner, especially upon seeing the mark that his final owner put upon his person.

Incanthis, despite his freedom being returned to him after the war, has stayed with his final master in Oba. It wasn't so much due to any sort of misplaced loyalty though, instead it was due to him thinking that his brothers thought as ill of him for helping the Obans as others from the allied forces side do. When Sauron came to help Issaly and Isaris to escape from Oba Incanthis was left behind, leaving him with the fear that he was abandoned by them. It's a fear that those he stays with have only 'helpfully' confirmed to keep Incanthis from wandering off. Regardless of this fear though, it the need arose, he would still do anything for his family members, even if they have come to hate him he still loves them more then life itself after all.

Bio: Incanthis is the third son. By the time he was born, their Father was more than satisfied with Istanell. That didn't mean that he didn't try to gain the male's attention. Though he didn't go out of his way either. Incanthis spent most of his time with their Mother, who was a Soul Linker. Learning all about her craft the youth would spend hours under her guidance. While this didn't go unnoticed by their Father, he just let it slide because having more Healers meant that he more capable sons could go after bigger game on Hunts. This fact didn't go unknown for long. As one hunt Illian came back badly bleeding while Istanell looked ready to turn on their Father. That was when Incanthis stopped respecting his Father as a warrior.

Though, the fourth son was the first infant he held, it was Isaris who instilled the adoration of children in him. Incanthis could feel the defect in his infant brother. Rather than alert his parents and risk their Father casting the infant out for the weakness. He took it upon himself to protect Isaris....after telling Istanell about the defect. He was always the mother hen of the sons, not hesitating to use that in jest against himself. Which is why when the Battle hit, he was beside Illian protecting the younglings. Upon finding themselves cornered by Oban aggressors Incanthis did what he felt would help those he was protecting the most, he offered himself and his healing knowledge up in exchange for the Obans letting those he was protecting go. The last thing he really recalls was seeing them running one way while he was being dragged along by the his long hair in the other direction so he could be put to work tending to wounded Obans.

Since that point Incanthis was sort of juggled around, going from place to place, healing whoever it was that he was told that his services were needed. He found himself especially busy during the war, working alongside the healers as a servant/slave to the Oban army. Day in and day out Incanthis was busy tending to the wounded soldiers from the 'wrong side' of the war but despite his dislike of the Obans he never took it out on the patients. In fact he found it all but impossible to do so. As much as he wanted to hate the men that were dragging him about from place to place the training that he'd been given from his beloved mother was far too deeply ingrained him in. Instead of balking him to work hard when it came to the patients that he was told to tend to.

As the war ended, and the soldiers of Oba started to head back home Incanthis found himself brought along with them, still a captive prize to the Obans that he'd been serving to that point. Those that kept him in their midst were told to release him when slavery was abolished in Oba, something that they did, though in word only. Sure, Incanthis was 'freed' but he found he really had no place to go. He was a long ways from Jauhar, in a land he didn't know anything about, amongst people that didn't tend to care for 'his kind' due to Shifters being amongst those who had defeated the Oban army. On top of that he had nothing to go back to, not with the status of his family being something that was unknown to him. As such, just because it had become habit, Incanthis continued to serve the Obans that he was with, continuing to work as a personal healer and servant to the group. It was only when rumor of other Shifters being in the city, those who he love dearly, did he run away from those he was staying with.

Upon reaching the hospital where Isaris and Issaly were supposed to be Incanthis found... nothing. His brothers had already left with some other Shifters, with rumor saying they were heading North, leaving Incanthis behind. Left heart broken Incanthis didn't protest when the Obans he'd abandoned came to collect him. He is, at the present time, still serving the group.

~ Incanthis is a young man who has been through a lot, getting captured by Oban soldiers being only the beginning. He was passed around between several masters before ending up in Sulburi with Muata. He remains there even after the war due to not feeling he has any place else to go.

~ After a rough run in with his (ex) master Incanthis has escaped and is on the move. He doesn't really have a set destination at the moment, instead just doing his best to recover and figure out what it is what he wants to do from here on out. He's used to having people telling him what to do so being free is rather confusing.

~ Incanthis is doing his best to try to move past his past, to look toward the future, and be more brave. It's a difficult thing to do but he's willing to put in the effort if it means being able to really enjoy life for the first time in a long time.

~ Incanthis still has a lot to learn despite his age but he is doing better and better as time goes on. He was able to break the last hold that Oba held over him by transforming the brand on his shoulder into something he could love. He's now heading back to Jauhar where he was born in hopes of revisiting his homeland with the one he loves.

INCANTHIS'S FAMILIARS

~ A cute little whelp that was a part of the clutch that Abie was taking care of. Junior often time abandons Abie and the others to follow Incanthis around. It's something that the Shifter feels a little guilty about but at the same time having a constant friend in the snaptrotter, one that doesn't judge in any way, has done Incan a lot of good.

~ An angry, hissing little whelp that Incanthis picked up from a trader. The little albino was referred to as a 'ghost' and Incanthis felt that it was up to him to protect him from those that would use him for his special coloration.

EARTHLINGS: SHIFTERS

The Shifters comprise a small, rudimentary tribe dwelling in the heart of Tendaji’s rainforest. Like other Earthlings, they stand at about four feet, on average. They possess long, rounded ears and their slim bodies are speckled with blue crystals. The length and style of their hair is dependent primarily upon their trade and rank within the tribe.

This race’s most distinguishing trait lies within their skin and eyes. Both features change from light to dark with the rising of the sun, and back to light in the evening, to match the silvery shades of the moon.

Personality-wise, they are across the board, although each individual’s disposition tends to coordinate with whether they are more nocturnal or diurnal. Their temperament, thus, greatly contributes to the form in which they are most commonly seen.

The Shifer Tribe shares Jauhar, their rainforest home, with the Alkidikes. Because of the war-like nature of their opposing female rivals, however, they tend to do what they can to stay out of the way and to remain unseen. They live predominantly in the upper canopy where food can be found in greater abundance, creating strange nests and hammock-like homes from the thousands of thick, dark green vines that twist between the trees. This diverse tribe prefers an elevated position where they can still observe the movements of the sun and moon.
