He lived in a separate estate until ten years of age, when his brother was kidnapped and the House was unable to recover him. In transit to the main estate, Lucien's escort was attacked by rogues, and the resulting trauma irreparably damaged his memories. He lived in the main estate since then, unknowingly forced by his parents to take on his missing brother's name. Formerly: Having been sheltered for the duration of his life, Luke is naive, perhaps even gullible, and unknowledgeable about the world outside his home. He is reluctant to seek new information, however, if it means revealing any inefficiencies in his character. Above all, Luke detests being spoken down to, ridiculed, or underestimated. He is far too proud to admit when he doesn't know something, unless he feels someone is angry with or critical of him for his lack of understanding - at which point he is very defensive of himself.
xxKnowing so little of his surroundings leaves Luke with a driving curiosity and will to explore, though he is hesitant to try new experiences out of a concern that he will appear foolish in front of others. He is wont to scrutinizing people in an attempt to better understand situations and will generally only ask directly if his company is someone he considers trustworthy and reliable. His trust is easy to earn: He freely gives it to any who are civil and forthcoming towards him.
xxLuke has a powerful sense of justice and is most willing to act in an instance where he feels someone is being unduly slighted. This is paired with a deep kindness and will to see others happy that he is inexperienced in and uncomfortable with expressing, and so he is prone to making up excuses, even if only internally, for helping others. Encouraging words are never offered without a certain degree of reluctance or embarrassment. -- xxHaving learned much of the world, of both its good and bad sides, Luke has matured considerably from his initial arrival in Kodo. Arrogance and cold indifference have thawed away from his most predominant characteristics, and the boy is much easier to get along with now than he ever was in the past. He's in a bit of a hurry to grow up and is always seeking to learn new things or understand things that don't make sense right away. As such, he hates being treated like a kid; nothing will move him to indignation more quickly. This is unfortunate for him, as he still very much acts like a kid and usually invites such treatment himself.
xxLuke is becoming a more honest person; he's stopped covering up his want to help people with irritation and derisive comments. His sense of justice and wish for those around him to be happy remain as powerful as ever, and he tends to be quite hard on himself when things turn out poorly even if it what happens is due to no fault of his own. It's hard for Luke not to view all of his shortcomings as things to be overcome, and he frustrates himself with his inability to overcome them. This, in addition to the events during his stay in Kodo, has heavily impacted his confidence and sense of self-worth, and the boy is almost desperate to prove himself - if only for his own sake.

Blinded by rage and confusion, Luke challenges his doppelganger in combat but is easily overcome. The mortifying defeat steels Luke's resolve to grow stronger, and he agrees to Steven's offer to train in Hoenn. • Asch, Guy
The trainer group travels to Hoenn on the region's champion Steven Stone's offer with the goal of becoming strong enough to stand up to Team Rocket. Luke, who rarely gets along well with others and is uncomfortable in the company of so many people he doesn't know well, spends most of his time training alone, only regrouping with his companions occasionally to touch base. He returns to Kodo feeling more confident about his skills.
Luke returns from the Hoenn region with new companions in tow. Tenebrae, a cynical Umbreon, chooses to follow him when he and his friends encounter a group of trainers that have become so obsessed with their pokewalkers that they neglect their living pokemon. Leste, a splendidly colored Pidgeot, joins his party as his first captured pokemon. Unbeknownst to Luke, his return to Kodo is shadowed by an unseen presence with a shy curiosity in the fiery boy.

Pressured by his father to participate in the ceremony gracefully but still unable to cope with his grief, Luke passes out just as the funeral begins. The fever afflicting him is diagnosed as stress-related and benign, and he accompanies Yuri for a one-sided conversation through the city on recovering. • Yuri
Luke's thoughts, which have gradually escaped him more and more, reach a new height in their cruelty. A hallucinated reflection in the mirror causes him to lash out in fear and anger, leaving his hand badly damaged and his psyche in an even worse state. [See solo.]
In the days following his outburst against the mirror, Luke withdraws even more than he already was, spending the greater majority of his time asleep in an effort to prevent the frightening thoughts from consuming him. He is roused into full awareness by the sudden appearance of the familiar Giselle, Seraphine's Mismagius, who bears a note on behalf of her trainer and Rosie. Confused by the fact that he has heard nothing of his friends' arrival, Luke confronts his father who again reaffirms that he is forbidden from leaving the manor, wishing him to cut off all ties from his time in Kodo. The pair manage to escape with little deliberation, running into Rosie and Seraphine on their way away from the noble quarter. The group united and unwilling to separate, all four head to the lower quarter to stay at the inn that serves as Yuri's residence. The younger trainers have the unwise idea to take a brief walk during which Luke, in his dissociated state, confesses his desire to kill himself. In the midst of the altercation, Mieu is twisted by the powers of a dark ball, and though they successfully run Kyle off, the Flareon remains hellishly hostile. Tenebrae originally belonged to a Hoenn trainer who had become more interested in the pokewalker fad than in caring for his actual pokemon. Luke, who had purchased a pokewalker for the novelty of it, traded it to the trainer for possession of his Umbreon. Tenebrae is contained in a dark ball.
Tenebrae is has a calm, sagacious disposition and a tendency to get a bit snarky and tease others. Because of his age, he is a fatherly presence for the majority of the team. He prefers to use his strength in real combat, but he doesn't mind competitive battling, treating it as an opportunity to practice.
Tenebrae's battle style focuses on using the enemy's strength against it. Towards his trainer, he feels a deep, mutual trust and respect. In dangerous situations, his priority is to watch the enemy's movements and alert his teammates to potential threats.

Leste was a wild pokemon in Hoenn. Luke, impressed by the Pidgeot's appearance, made every effort to capture it, though his lack of familiarity with the practice of catching pokemon dragged out the process. Leste is contained in a premier ball.
Leste can be described as gentle and motherly. She prefers to avoid confrontation, but she understands the necessity of battle and works to improve herself so that she won't be a burden.
Leste's battle style focuses on keeping the enemy from inflicting harm. Towards her trainer, she feels a deep, mutual trust and respect. In dangerous situations, her priority is to protect Luke.

Rem was given to Luke as an egg. As an Eevee, she was taught to battle primarily by her teammates, integrating into the training regimen more fully upon her trainer's decision to evolve her. Rem is contained in a great ball.
Standoffish and unpredictable, Rem is a pokemon who marches to her own rhythm. She loves her speed and relishes in any opportunity to show it off. Similarly, she loves the strength that she's developed through training, and it's rare that she doesn't feel like fighting.
Rem's battle style focuses on sabotaging the enemy with paralysis and lowered accuracy. Towards her trainer, she feels a deep, mutual trust and respect. In dangerous situations, her priority is to defeat the enemy.

Lorelei followed Luke back to Kodo from Hoenn after fleeing there to escape Team Rocket's pursuit. This decision eventually proved to be a poor one when he was captured by a group dealing illicit legendary pokemon for profit. Luke, acting with a group of trainers to respond to suspicious activity, rescued the Mew and captured him for his protection. Lorelei is contained in a heal ball.
Lorelei is fearful of strangers and of battle, but if he sees no other option, he will reluctantly step up to fight - though only so long as no one else can fight instead of him. He envies the strength and determination of his teammates and hopes to someday achieve it for himself.
Towards his trainer, he feels trust. In dangerous situations, his priority is to protect himself.
Scratch • Leer • Pursuit • Fake Tears Illusion: Comes out disguised as the pokemon in the party's last spot.
Sephira was found as an infant on Camphoreon's outskirts, abandoned by her mother. Luke decided to care for the pokemon to prevent her from being attacked and eaten for food by wild pokemon. Sephira is contained in a nest ball.
Sephira is curious and gentle, though she doesn't push herself to be particularly kind. She finds her teammates' strength impressive but frightening and struggles to understand how they could be so willing to put themselves in harm's way. She doesn't feel any special need to grow stronger, but she trains when it seems to be what's expected of her.
Towards her trainer, she feels friendliness. In dangerous situations, her priority is to hide.
