Luke was beginning to suspect that Monday would never come and he would be left to wander the streets of Camphoreon for the rest of time. Boredom and a general lack of direction stretched the minutes into hours, and the days dragged on. He had taken to roaming the streets, perusing shop after shop, and making good use of his Poketch's GPS when it came time to return to the hotel. A cloudy day had left him dazed, however, and he had wandered much longer than he had intended. To make matters worse, the evening, already dimmed further by the cloud cover, was swiftly turning drizzly. And where there was rain, there was muddy walkways. Ugh. He really needed to get back to the--
Too little, too late. The skies opened up and a torrential downpour began without the vaguest trace of mercy. A brief exclamation accompanied a sudden increase in the tempo of his footsteps as Luke made his way towards the nearest cover. He planted himself beneath the awning to the cafe - ugh, why did it have to be closed? - and fiddled with his hair. He didn't get too wet, fortunately, and the blade of his sword was safe and dry in the sheath that rested at his back.
"Stupid rain." Because the rain needed to feel bad about what it had done.

It had been just another normal, boring day so far. She had skipped school - because honestly, who actually wanted to go to school on a Friday? - had lunch at a wonderful little (expensive) cafe, avoided getting in trouble for skipping school, had taken Anastasia to be groomed, and decided to take a little stroll around the city before she returned to the house for a late dinner. The clouds looked rather ominous, but since when did she pay attention to clouds? At least Mother had warned her that it might rain, so a thin metal rod was currently resting daintily against her shoulder that ended in a rather pink umbrella at such an angle that it wouldn't protect her from any rain at all. Thankfully it wasn't rai...
Oh. Oh drat, there it was. The few drizzly drops were a minor frustration, easily fixed by quickly returning the glossy-coated Umbreon back into her luxury ball. But when the downpour really started - Arceus, why did it have to rain? On a Friday? - she cursed under her breath and clutched the umbrella close, trying to keep her upper half as dry as possible while she hurried towards the nearest form of shelter: The awning over a cafe entrance. Someone had just ran under it, and even though she had an umbrella, she had absolutely no intention of ruining her favorite pair of shoes. Well, her favorite pair for this outfit, anyway.
With a huff she stepped under the meager covering, slipping the umbrella off her shoulder to avoid getting wet from it, then attempted to close it. Another exasperated huff escaped her as she wholeheartedly agreed with the other person under the awning, "It is stupid, isn't it? Ugh." She hadn't had time to take a good look at the person beside her just yet, as she was too focused on glaring at the umbrella that simply refused to close. How did she close it again..? Ugh, she hated rain.

Oh, great. As if it wasn't enough to be forced into the shelter of a shop awning, now he was going to be forced to share it with someone. Luke was really growing to hate Kodo. He was never forced to do anything at home... Wait, yes he was. That was why he left to begin with. Ugh, and now here he was setting it up on some pedestal just because it seemed a little better than his current circumstances. He didn't want to go back. He definitely didn't want to go back. He never wanted to go back. And damned if he missed it at all.
Well, anyway... Who was the thrilling stranger he'd be sharing his time with this time? Some chick. In pink. Well, his last experience with a chick in pink had been a fairly good one, but somehow this particular girl didn't seem very Rosie-esque. For one, she had an umbrella and yet was opting not to use it. He could kind of understand that; it was really coming down, and even an umbrella wouldn't do but so much good. But damn it all, if he had an umbrella, he would so be headed home by now... And by home, he definitely meant the hotel room. Could a slip of the tongue even manifest itself in one's thoughts?
"It is," he murmured in half-hearted agreement, turning his attention to the rings the raindrops traced in the puddles. It wasn't letting up at all... How long could a downpour like this go on for anyway?

To be fair, Seraphine was similarly displeased to be sharing the awning. She wasn't used to sharing anything with anyone. With a final click she managed to close the umbrella - not without a huff of annoyance - and leaned it against the wall so she didn't have to hold it. There; with that done, she turned her attention to the company she was forced to share with, to see just how bad the time spent would be..
Oh, not bad. Not bad at all. He looked about her age, had a handsome face and relatively good, expensive taste. She wasn't sure what the long thing strapped to his back was, but she supposed they'd get to it eventually. First thing's first. "Anyway," she started, her expression and tone immediately going from displeased to very amiable and interested, "my name is Seraphine von Renata. Might I have the pleasure of knowing yours?" Oh, yes, the time spent in his company wouldn't be very bad at all.

Luke folded his arms and leaned backwards against the closed door of the whatever-it-was. Looked to be some kind of eatery, maybe a bistro or something. Not that it matter, since it was closed. This frustration was cut short by the girl's sudden introduction, at which he couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. Did people typically introduce themselves out of the blue? No one else had, except Rosie, and Luke was beginning to suspect that she was an exception to the whole of humanity. Well, whatever. She was using her full name, which meant Luke had license to use his full name was well, and that was reason enough to reply in kind.
"Luke fon Fabre," he said in a tone that was more a proclamation than a response to a question. His posture was disrupted with a start by a sudden knock from the other side of the door, in response to which he whipped around with a hand moving instinctively to the hilt of his sword - it was awesome to have that familiar weight back at his waist. A somewhat bewildered looking man stood inside the bistro, the door pulled open before him.
"Uh, weather guys don't think this is going to let up any time soon. We're technically closed, but do you two wanna come in to wait it out?"

His expensive taste in clothes was accompanied by what sounded to be an expensive name. Well, names themselves weren't expensive, of course, but his name seemed to imply that he had money, even if his clothes didn't already. Oh, yes, this would be wonderful.
She was about to respond when someone knocked on the other side of the door before opening it. "Oh, well that's just perfect," she said as she pursed her lips, brows furrowing in displeasure at their situation. "Stupid weather. Anyway, I think that'd be a good idea," that said while picking up her umbrella again and moving to enter the cafe or whatever it was. "It'd be much better to wait inside where it's warm and dry, rather than out in the cold with the possibility of getting wet, don't you agree?" While they hadn't been getting wet standing there, she knew very well that wind was capable of suddenly changing directions - very irritating, unfortunate directions - and could very well have blown rain all over them if it did change its direction, and she couldn't have that.

Luke, unfamiliar with the nature of names apart from those he knew directly, did not notice the similar tone to Seraphine's own name. He was similarly unfamiliar with the implications of that tone, and so he failed to reach the same conclusion as her. He wouldn't have particularly cared even if he had reached the same conclusion, though, so it was no great loss.
The man stepped aside to let Seraphine pass, gesturing for Luke to enter as well. The boy regarded him dubiously for a moment before shrugging with a "well, whatever" and proceeding inside. It was nice to be out of the damp air and away from the threat of getting wet, at least... "Yeah, I guess," he agreed, though his tone betrayed his apathy. He took a seat at one of the tables, set his elbow on the surface, and rested his chin in his palm. Rain was depressing, even more so now that he was confined somewhere to watch it fall.

Well, well; he certainly wasn't the cheerful, outgoing type, was he? No matter, Seraphine had experiences with challenging young men like him before, so she wasn't concerned. Following him to the table he sat at, she gingerly pulled a chair out for herself and sat down with a flourish, then set her closed umbrella down on the floor. That done, she delicately set her elbows on the table, lacing her fingers so she could set her chin on them. "Anyway," she began in honeyed tones, "it's a pleasure to meet you, Luke. Do you live around here?"
Hopefully he did, that improved her chances of seeing him around again sometime, or scheduling sometime to meet him. If he turned out to be worth her while, of course.
Oh! Before she forgot.. She pulled a luxury ball out from some hidden fold of her dress and released a dark Umbreon with inverted pink hearts. "Anastasia, we're staying here until it stops raining," she informed her small companion.
"Breee," she trilled in response to her owner, showing she understood. Taking a moment or two to give herself a thorough shake, she then turned her gaze around to the wherever they were. Looked like some sort of cafe or something.. Oh, and there was another person! Anya trotted over to him, peering up at him curiously. "Bree?"

"Nah," he replied curtly, regarding her with a sidelong glance. "Well, not really anyway. 'M staying for a while, though, so." So she could take it for what she would. Perhaps there was more he could say on the matter, but the dreary rainfall had severely dampened his mood, and being made to sit inside and stare out through a window was only inspiring a bitter nostalgia.
He spared a cursory glance at the Umbreon that appeared, raising an eyebrow at it as it looked to him. Why did people insist on tossing their pokemon out at the first opportunity anyway? They couldn't contribute to conversation, and they usually couldn't help with anything. Luke inwardly scowled at the thought that this was supposed to be some kind of attempt to goad him into releasing Mieu. He was in no mood to deal with excitable Flareon.
