It was a beautiful day in the park - the sun was shining, the sky was a gorgeous blue with only a smattering of fluffy, white clouds, and the temperature was perfect. While most people might stop to appreciate such weather, Seraphine noted it only briefly, passingly as she chose an outfit to wear on her excursion. The dress matched her typical color scheme - mostly pink and white with black accents - and she thought it hugged her curves perfectly, as well as showed off her legs. Despite her behavior improving as of late, she still thought very much of her appearance. This was obvious in her choice of clothing, right down to the matching pair of shoes and handbag that Mordecai carried in his metal claws for his beloved Mistress.

A matching hat and large pair of sunglasses later, the young teen found herself waltzing through the park, Anastasia trotting along on her right, Giselle floating along (with plenty of pirouettes and flips along the way) on her left, and Mordecai hovering obediently behind the trio.

Though the weather was clear and the temperature pleasant, the beautiful early-spring afternoon found Luke as sullen and disaffected as any rainstorm might. His recent rendezvous with the bottom of a deep hole found a black fiberglass cast wrapped tightly around his wrist and forearm, and he was less than pleased with the instruction that he was to abstain from using it much in the month that it would take to heal.

Well what about practicing with the sword, he had asked. I'm left-handed anyway, so it shouldn't matter.

What, no, don't be ridiculous, the doctor had replied. It's only a month, so just take care of yourself for a while.

Bah. He'd give it a week tops. It wasn't even that bad of a break.

Luke was roused from his conspiratorial self-diagnoses by the sound of footsteps and the accompanying peripheral phantom of someone walking nearby. Curiosity attracted his gaze, and he was surprised to find that he recognized the individual. Well, kind of - she about looked like she was trying to be incognito with those sunglasses. He didn't really remember the last time he had interacted with Seraphine, only that when he did, he didn't really like her at all. But that was some time ago, and he could at least be civil enough to raise a hand in greeting.

Had his hand not caught her attention, his head of bright red hair would have just the same. It took her a brief moment to recall just who he was, and while her gut-reaction was to huff and storm off to another section of the park, she realized that the last time they interacted had been, well, forever ago. She had improved tremendously (in her opinion), so maybe he had as well. A slender hand raised in a similar greeting as its twin rose simultaneously, but instead of a wave it removed her rather large, expensive sunglasses.

As she opened her mouth to speak, whatever she had been about to say was completely derailed when she noticed his cast. "What the crap happened to you?" Tact and subtlety, thy name is definitely not Seraphine.

On the subject of improving socially, Luke had never really considered his own progress. But then, he had never identified that he had a problem, so that wasn't surprising. There was, however, a gradual change in his disposition, and where the tactless exclamation might have drawn anger in the past, the young noble somehow found humor in the reaction now. He subdued a laugh into a grin.

"Stay away from the mountains, if you can help it," he warned. "Apparently the ground just collapses into a giant pit from time to time."

Seraphine made a face. "I'll keep that in mind," she said as she sauntered over to the bench he was sitting at. Either she was doing it on purpose, or, as was more likely, that was just how she walked for so long she didn't even think about it anymore and it had become second nature to her. "So," the teen said as she sat down with a practiced flourish, "what were you doing in the mountains?" Especially if they liked to cave in on occasion, that sounded like a horrid place to go.

Anastasia plopped down on her rump in front of the pair before offering Luke a "breee" in greeting. Giselle had disappeared somewhere - Seraphine didn't seem the least bit concerned - and Mordecai hovered nearby, looking ready to obey any command he might be given, or take any item he might be handed.

Luke leaned forward to rest his elbows on his knees, turning his head slightly to create enough of a glance for polite eye contact. He nodded in returned greeting at the Umbreon - he wasn't really familiar with most of Seraphine's pokemon, but he sort of recognized the dark-type - and gave a marginal frown in response to the question. "Something sort of weird, I guess," he admitted. "It feels like something's watching me sometimes. I got a glimpse of whatever it was and followed it to the mountains. Stupid thing got away though." A pokemon, apparently. A 'Mew.' It was a familiar name, something that Luke associated with stories he'd read as a child or television shows he had watched in passing.

When Luke acknowledged her greeting, Anastasia happily and gently head-butted his knee before she wandered off a few feet to find where Giselle had disappeared to.

"Hmm.. That is weird," she admitted with a thoughtful frown which caused her lips to stick out in a small pout. The expression cleared rather quickly though; actual, honest to goodness thinking on the subject probably didn't interest her. One thing bothered her though, and that was the idea of being watched and followed by something or someone. That usually never ended very well, especially if it was a stalker. Ugh... The thought of those made her want to shudder, but she held back the urge to do so. "Did you see what it was that was following you?" This was asked as she held one hand out to the hovering metallic Pokemon nearby without even so much as a sideways glance, but regardless Mordecai responded immediately. He was within reach in an instant and gently placed the handle to her bag in her outstretched hand, over which her fingers curled before she placed it into her lap. Only then did her green eyes move away from her company in order to see what she was doing, and she put her sunglasses into a special case that she replaced in her purse, then pulled out two luxury balls. Two flashes of white revealed two dark-types, Isabella and Jacques, before the orbs were also replaced and the purse held out to Mordecai, who hummed as he took it back from his beloved mistress.

"Actually, yeah." He'd sort of forgotten about it with the whole falling into a pit and dragging his mostly unconscious evil brother to safety bit, but he had seen the thing, hadn't he? "I guess it was a pokemon. Sorta small," he held his hands about a foot apart in demonstration, "yellow and white, and with a long tail. Called a 'Mew' or something, I think." Or maybe he was just confusing that with Mieu. That was actually just as viable as anything else, really. He shrugged, "It wasn't a person, at least, so I guess it's not really much to worry about." It was just annoying. Really annoying, and sort of frustrating too. Oh well.

"Oh, good. People following you never ends well," she said with a shake of her head, her curly hair waving a bit with the action. The name of the Pokemon he'd mentioned wasn't familiar to her - not a dark- or ghost-type, at any rate - so in response she held her hand out again, palm up. Mordecai handed her her bag without complaint - he was always pleased and honored to assist his beloved Mistress, after all - and she fished out her pokedex. To be quite honest, it looked more like a sort of modified tablet with pokedex features than an actual pokedex. Regardless of its construction, Sera turned it on and with a few quick taps of her finger, she pulled up a page on the pokemon mentioned.

She frowned at it for a few moments before she held out the 'dex to Luke. "Was this it?" While the pokemon in question was pink with blue eyes, it looked to be of the same size as what he had described. That, and it had a rather long tail, so that had to be it, right? Pokemon could be different colors, if her lot was any indication.

He looked to the offered screen at the little creature displayed on its pixels. The colors were completely different, but so were Mieu's. The ears were sort of a different shape, as were the markings, but the rest of it was spot on. "Yeah, that's it," he said with a nod. He always forgot that the pokedex could be used for things like that, and indeed was intended to be used for things like that rather than just for communication with his friends.

Seraphine wasn't normally the patient sort - in fact she wasn't patient at all, in any sense of the word - and thankfully she didn't have long to wait before Luke confirmed that the pokemon she'd found on her 'dex had been the one he saw. She nodded her head once in an 'I knew it' sort of look, as if she'd never doubted herself for a moment, before she closed the application and put the 'dex away. The purse was handed back to Mordecai, who took it quite eagerly. "I thought so. But you said it was yellow... Weird. And they're apparently super rare, so you're lucky to have even seen it I guess." She didn't sound jealous of him despite the fact he'd seen what essentially was considered legendary. Possibly because it wasn't a dark- or ghost-type. "Were you gonna try to catch it or something?"

The brunette suddenly did a double take, pale green eyes focusing on an exact twin of Luke sitting next to him on the bench. The clone grinned broadly and snickered, sitting so that his tail wasn't visible. Seraphine didn't seem to think it was very funny. "Jacques, cut that out."
PostPosted: Tue Apr 03, 2012 10:36 pm

"Huh. I don't know if it was all that lucky. I mean the thing led me up a mountain that collapsed," he said with a frown. Simply hearing that the pokemon was rare meant little to Luke without any point of reference or previous knowledge of the thing. He'd been told that Mieu was a rare coloration too, and unlike this Mew thing, he had seen enough other Eevee and Flareon to know that that was true. He shrugged halfheartedly at the question to follow, "Eh, I dunno about that... My-- Some criminal was chasing it, so I guess I wanted to give it a hand, but moreover I just wanted to tell it to stop following me."

Seraphine's double take attracted Luke's own attention, and what he saw at the end of her gaze surprised him more than his company. Within a brief moment he had removed himself from the bench and stood aside, staring at the double with a pale expression and thoughts returning to the boy still at the hospital. That wasn't Asch. No, that was an actual copy of Luke, down to every detail. "Arceus," he breathed. "What the hell?" He had heard that there were various kinds of pokemon that could copy even more various forms, but he'd never actually seen one...

Jacques just snickered at Luke's reaction before resting one arm on the back of the bench, crossing one leg over the other as he relaxed against the seat, busy studying his - Luke's - fingernails.

Seraphine did not look pleased as she stood up, crossing her arms over her chest as she directed a glare at the transformed dark-type. "Jacques is a Zorua," she huffed, noting that Jacques' grin widened a bit when she spoke, "and he's annoying. Zorua have the ability to change into any other pokemon or person they see, like some sort of illusion. When they evolve they get a lot better at it and it's a lot harder to see through. Jacques, however, thinks he's clever when he's not." When her tirade had ended, it left her with her hands clenched into fists propped on her hips, glaring at the Luke replica. "Jacques, you have three seconds to stop it or else."

Luke's temporary twin merely stuck his tongue out at her.

Three seconds passed.

"Fine," Sera said as she leaned back, crossing her arms again. She didn't seem annoyed anymore, although her eyes were narrowed. "Giselle."

The grin faded from Jacques' face and he leaned forward a bit, looking around quickly to try and see wh--

A pale Mismagius suddenly materialized from no where to the clone's left, grabbing his tail in her tendrily appendages before giving it a hard yank. With a yelp, the clone fell sideways off the bench, but what landed on the ground was a puff of smoke from which emerged a white and purple Zorua. He shook himself off and had barely run two steps before he disappeared in a flash of red light, and Sera nonchalantly stuffed the luxury ball back into her purse as Giselle floated up to hover near her Mistress.

"Anyway," she went on as she sat back down on the bench as if none of that had happened, "that sounds weird. D'you know why it's following you?"
PostPosted: Tue May 22, 2012 4:52 pm

"That's really... creepy." At least Asch dressed differently from him and didn't act so... weird. He watched the exchange that took place between Sera and her pokemon. She was surprisingly efficient about it; Luke didn't remember her taking training any more seriously than he did, but she seemed to have gotten fairly good at it - overlooking the Zorua's acting out in the first place.

The girl seemed content to dismiss the events as though they hadn't happened at all, so Luke could only shrug it off and go with the flow. "No idea," he answered. "I'd say it's just for the sake of being creepy, but it'd probably be more persistent about it if that were the case..." Not that he didn't mind that. It wasn't an unpleasant kind of following, after all. He didn't feel like he was being threatened, and that was good enough for him. But Sera seemed to have some kind of knowledge of this whole 'stalking' business, so, "What do you think?"

In all actuality, Sera wasn't much better at training than she was before, it was more her attitude than anything else - she expected compliance, and when she didn't get it from one, she used one who did to express it to the one who didn't to get the point across that no, you don't get to act like a little jerk whenever you feel like it. Jacques just needed to be reminded of this regularly enough that Giselle had gotten used to the one doing the reminding. She actually sort of enjoyed it, too.

"Yeah, it can be," she admitted as she fixed the little Zorua with a wary look. "He's turned into me a few times, so I think it is really weird. Anyway, since this thing obviously hasn't done anything to you directly besides follow you around, I don't think it's bad, not like stalkers in any case, those are just plain creepy." She would have suppressed a shudder had she ever actually felt one coming, but her words held the same emotion as if she were talking about the dirt used to pave rural roads. "D'you think you'll try to catch it or something?" Because what else would he do with a pokemon that was following him?
