A few hours after Luke and Asch emerged from the cavern they had fallen into, they arrived in Sandalwood City. Asch had seen better days since he was brought in on a Pidgeot that was not his own, unconscious. As soon as Luke had found help, they were both taken to the local hospital, where they now resided.
Obviously Asch was in the worst condition and was quickly rushed to their Emergency Room. It was there that he was in good hands as the doctors determined the extent of his injuries. Fractures on his left arm and leg, broken ribs, a laceration on his right thigh, another on his forehead, and the reopening of an older head wound. Plus they'd managed to discover some internal bleeding as well. Not to mention bruises everywhere.
He was in critical condition, but was stabilized after a successful blood transfusion. They then placed him in a room in the trauma unit, where he remained unconscious. The boy was placed on oxygen, fluids, pain killers, and a host of other medications. Now it was a waiting game.

Though some miracle, Luke had gotten off much more easily than his brother. The fracture in his arm saw quick attention and was now tightly bound, the various smalls cuts that littered him disinfected and bandaged. What he was most concerned about, however, was not the lingering pain from the doctor manipulating his arm to wrap it. It was the memory of his brother's face, of his complexion and his listless disposition. He was distressed, and as soon as he found a port to recharge his pokedex, he relayed a message to his friends:
ground caved in, asch was hurt, sandalwood hospital.
He sat now in the hospital's waiting room, resting his now-throbbing head against the palm of his unwrapped hand. What was he supposed to do now?

Worried was an understatement. It had taken her some time but after leaving immediately after getting the message, Natalia was at the Sandalwood hospital. Her boots clicked against the ground as she hurried to the front desk to ask about Luke and Asch. Shortly after that she was directed to the floor Asch was on and the waiting room Luke was in, also on said floor.
When she walked into the waiting room her eyes landed on Luke and she hurried over to him with a worried look. "Are you alright? Any word on Asch?" she asked as she took in his wrapped arm and the cuts and bruises.

The message that she got from Luke had startled and confused Rosie. That Luke was in the hospital for some reason, and... that Asch was there?
Rosie was quick to set out, but instead of walking or running the whole way there. The trip she took was considerably shortened thanks to her flying type.
The blond ran into the hospital when she landed by the doors, and quickly returned Perdy into his ball. Her long legs carrying her quickly to the front counter that she practically bounced off of when she caught her hands on the surface to stop her momentum.
Her mouth opened to ask the receptionist where her friend was, when a head of fiery hair caught her eye. Her head jerked around and she let out a gasp. "Luke!"
She rushed over to him, practically dropping herself onto her knees next to where he was sitting. "Oh my gosh, were you hurt?" She looked scared, and worried, looking him over for injuries.

Natalia's voice drew Luke's head away from his hand, and he stared for a moment, as if processing the fact that she was there. Eventually, he nodded, "Yeah, I'm okay." The second question brought his gaze to lower, sobered by the memory of recent events. "They said he was 'stable.' He was... you know, in pretty bad shape... But I'm sure he'll be all right." The punctuating sentence was delivered with more confidence than the others, a distinct tone of reassurance melting into the words. He hadn't worked so hard for nothing to come of it. Diligence would be rewarded, right...?
The sound of his name pulled him harshly out of his lethargic thoughts, and Luke met Rosie's gaze with wide eyes. He was somewhat taken aback by her frantic tone, and he instinctively drew his injured arm inward as if to conceal it - like he could really hide an arm in a cast. He gave her as best a smile he could, "I'm fine, I'm fine. Don't worry about me."

"H how could I not? You said there was a cave in, I didn't know wh-" She took a pause, relaxing when Luke said he was okay and letting out a breath. "Oh thank goodness." Though her eyes did fall on the arm that he pulled away.
She paused, then glanced up at him, reaching out to the arm to touch it. He had been hurt, though from what she could see, it was only his arm, if there was anything else the doctors would be seeing him. She was grateful it was just his arm.
Her hand didn't pull away from his arm, but her eyes did, turning back up to him, sharing a look with Natalia as well, giving her blond friend a gentle smile.
"In the message, you said that Asch-...?" Now that she knew Luke was okay, she could move on to the other part of the message...

Thankfully the injured arm didn't seem to worry Rosie - and a good thing too, he had prepared any number of descriptions of how minor it was - and he watched her fleeting inspection with wandering thoughts. Asch said he had broken his leg, but clearly that wasn't the extent of his wounds. He remembered the jacket - spared from the knife, surprisingly - that he had wrapped around his midsection and the bleeding wound at his head.
And then the verbal topic came to Asch as well, and Luke hesitated to describe what he knew for concern of alarming Natalia. It would be fine, though, since he was being treated now, right? The danger had already passed. He dared to explain.
"I ran into Asch around the mountain, and the ground just gave out all of a sudden. Asch fell before me, so he was buried under the rubble." He looked to Natalia, knowing the information to be of special interest to her, "His leg was broken, and it seemed like he hit his head. I heard someone mention something about internal bleeding, but the most recent news was definitely 'stable.' He'll be all right."

Her initial reaction to hearing that Asch was there was admittedly... not good. she had her reasons to be fearful, and uneasy of the boy. But upon hearing of what happened, and the injuries he had sustained from them a hand lifted to her mouth in shock.
"Oh no." She spoke weakly,
She had her reasons to weary of Asch, but that didn't mean she wanted him to be hurt, or killed.
Her large eyes shifted to Natalia, following Luke's example. Her fingers slipping from her lips. "W-Well, stable is good." Rosie agreed, nodding softly to Luke. "Luke's right, it will be okay."
The blond pushed herself up off the floor, taking a seat next to Luke instead. One of her hands ran through her wind swept hair. "How did you guys get out?"
Clearly Asch was in a position that needed help. And again, clearly Luke must have helped. It was... nice thinking about it, despite the sides they took. But then again, Luke knew that Asch was his brother now... maybe that had some part to play.

Natalia gave Luke a relieved smile to hear he was ok, well mostly anyway. His reassurances had her hoping that Asch wasn't as bad as she feared when she heard they had to stabilize him. She looked over when Rosie came in and gave her a smile back. Rosie being here might be both a good and a bad thing, good for Luke, bad for Rosie and Asch.
She leaned over and gave Luke a hug after he described what happened to him and Asch. "I am so glad you both are safe now." The noblewoman said as she blinked back the slight wetness from here eyes. She pulled back from the hug and ran a hand through Luke's hair with a small smile. The smile grew at Rosie's reassurance. "Thank you. I'm sure he will be."
"I'm going to go see if there is any change or information they can give though." A gleam came to her eyes as she said that. If anyone even tried to hold back any information they would find themselves in a world of trouble.

As Natalia went on her quest, there was a nurse with curly blonde hair tied up into bun with loose strands. She was standing next to one of the medical stations as other staff buzzed around her, going about their business. She seemed to be reviewing charts as the younger lady caught her attention.
"Can I help you?" she asked, giving a tired but warm smile. It had been a long after all.

Natalia gave the other woman a smile and glanced around the area before looking back at her. "Yes I'm looking for information on someone who was admitted earlier today." She started to tug lightly on one of her gloves. "I'm not sure if his brother gave his last name or not but the man I'm looking for information's name is Asch." For now she wouldn't go in with force, instead just feel the waters to how freely they might give her information on her fiance.

"Oh yes, the young man with the red hair? He's here on my floor."
The nurse had just come down the hall to deliver some paperwork, and knew exactly which person she was referring to. Asch's name wasn't exactly common either. Seems that Natalia was in luck.

"Oh good. Would you mind giving me an update on his status?" Natalia asked, not bothering to hide her worry for him. After all it might be to her advantage. "Luke glossed over what they told him but he didn't go into much details." She turned her head to look back at Luke and Rosie as she said that. "And do you know when he would be allowed visitors?"

The nurse nodded and sighed lightly while tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
"There hasn't been much change I'm afraid. He's not awake yet, but he's stable. He can have visitors any time, but generally we only allow two at a time. I can show you to his room if you'd like."

Natalia was glad she wouldn't have to drop names or family relations to get to see him, really glad seeing as she had promised Asch she would keep their relationship a secret. "Yes please if it's not to much trouble." She said with a smile and a nod. She could always come back and let Luke and Rosie know ones she knew where Asch's room was.
Maybe. She still wasn't sure how Rosie would react after all and she didn't want to upset anyone.
