Training was as serious as ever for the group. or at least it was for Rosie. Over the last couple of months, the young women had made several steps forward, this included the growing of her pokemon team.
Rosie and her main team, had taken a trip back to Hoenn, where she continued on with her training in new Territory and new faces, to keep herself and her team on their toes. Before she left, she had had a long sit down talk with her Pikachu, the first pokemon she had ever caught, and for the last couple of years had been uninvolved. Together they went over to pros of evolution for the pokemon, considering it as a serious option. Kiss Kiss seemed to be on the same page, and was quick to make her decision.
It was a big change, for both of them, but it was a big change they were both happy about. Kiss Kiss the Raichu, packing more volts behind those heart shaped cheeks then ever! And she wasn't the only one on her team who made such progress.
After spending the last month and a half in Hoenn, Rosie returned back home to Camphoreon, with an new badge that she had earched from one of the gym's bringing her count up to three! Gym leaders sure were tough, and a great way to set goals on training.
She had arrived back in the city the day before, but had taken the evening to rest and let her pokemon relax. Though she was sure to make it very clear that tomorrow! She wanted to see her friends. Sending messages to Luke and deciding that they should meet on the corner by where that Deli was! She had so much to tell him, and she really wanted to share her progress with her friend.
"Rai Rai!" Kiss Kiss laughed as Rosie snatched up the now bigger mouse pokemon, and flopped down on one of the benches by the corner. wrapping her arms around the electric type and squeezing her playfully while the pokemon tried to struggle away.

Luke had agreed to meet with Rosie - of course he had; it felt as though it had been ages since he had seen his friend, and he was curious about what she had been doing as of late - but as the designated meeting time approached, he found himself increasingly nervous about it. He had the dreadful feeling that Rosie would be able to tell at a glance what he had done and would hate him for it. Guy had forgiven him, he reminded himself. Emil hadn't seemed to hardly even remember that it had happened. Even with all the assurance he could muster for himself, none of it absolved his worry. He had assured her that his sword was for protecting rather than hurting, and he had been naive to think the two didn't go hand in hand. He just wouldn't tell her. There was no need to mention it anyway.
Steadied by the thought, Luke moved through Camphoreon's streets at an intentionally leisurely pace. It felt like the slightest concern would plant the seeds for panic nowadays, and he really didn't enjoy dealing with the unsavory sensation. Despite all efforts, he paused autonomously when he recognized the familiar girl's form lying upon the bench, though the form of the pokemon with her was distinctly less familiar. He forced a calm breath. She didn't know. She didn't have to know. She wouldn't know. Everything was fine. He applied a practiced smile to his expression and made his approach, "Hey! Long time no see."

It was funny how fate tended to bring people together, although Yuri wasn't really sure he believed in things like fate. He would rather believe in making one's own future rather than be dependent on something that had been preplanned. But there sure was some interesting coincidences now and then.
The raven haired man just happened to be walking the same street, having stopped at a crepe vendor and picking up one of the delicious desserts. Believe it or not, Yuri was a man with a sweet tooth, and some kind of dessert was enough to brighten his day.
Just before Luke's arrival, he had parked himself on a bench located not far from Rosie. With one arm draped over the back of the bench, he took a bite of his crepe and casually observed his surroundings. Repede sat near Yuri's feet, beside the sword that had been left to rest against the side of the bench.
Hearing a familiar voice though, he looked up to see Luke approaching and greeting a young lady. Huh.

Kiss was the first to notice Luke, even before he spoke. The Raichu's smile brightened, and she pointed toward him with an equally excitable "RAI!" And then Luke spoke and Rosie looked up.
Then young trainer perked up, and was up on her white and pink boots quickly, a bright smile on her own face to meet him. Kiss hopped down on her paws and bounded over to Luke, stopping next to him and pushing herself up high on her hind feet. "Rai Raichuuu!"
"Luke! Oh my goodness, its so good to see you again!" she greeted energetically. "I missed everyone so much."

It was hard to mistake the pokemon for anything but a Raichu upon seeing it up close - not to mention it vividly proclaimed its species name in its greeting - and so Luke easily reached the conclusion that Kiss Kiss had evolved in her and her trainer's time away. "Hey," he repeated, this time specifically to the electric-type, and smiled in greeting. He leveled his palm with the top of her head, "Looks like you got a little taller, huh?"
He raised his attention to Rosie, but his gaze easily drifted back to Kiss Kiss before it had lingered too long, his smile dimming just slightly. "Yeah, same here," he replied. He forced his eyes upwards for another brief moment. "What have you been up to?"

A paw reached out to rest on the young man's leg as she pushed herself up into his hand, happily nuzzling one of her cheeks into his palm "Chhuuu~"
Rosie giggled at the exchange, stepping up to Luke, and folding her hands behind her back. "She packs quite a punch now too. surprised even her at first." She lifted a fist up, pulling it down in a motion of triumph "You should see!"
Kiss Kiss snickered and mimicked the movement.
Rosie kept her attention on Luke, even though he was looking down at Kiss Kiss again for a moment. "I beat another gym leader in Hoenn! It was a lot of work." She told him with a sign, but reached over to one of her pockets, and pulled out the badge to show Luke. "But we did it!" she smiled proudly of her pokemon "What about you? how is everyone?"

Luke couldn't help a slight laugh at the Raichu, appreciative of her disarming behavior. It was hard to be nervous about much of anything in the presence of a pokemon like Kiss Kiss.
"Oh, wow." He blinked in a passing surprise as Rosie presented the evidence of her pokemon's new strength. "The Hoenn League again, huh? Congratulations!" He remembered the struggle he'd put in for the badge he'd earned; granted, he hadn't been very good at battling at the time, concentrating almost exclusively on strength rather than any sort of strategy. He kind of wondered if he'd be able to any better now.
The question of Luke's and others' circumstances dampened his otherwise bright demeanor, and he distracted himself by patting Kiss Kiss's head idly. "Oh, uh, everything's been pretty normal... Kind of boring, I guess." He dismissed the subject quickly, taking a familiar luxury ball into hand and releasing the pokemon it contained, "Hey Mieu, come say hi."
The words prepared the Flareon to be quite friendly, and he was more than ready to greet Rosie and Kiss Kiss with ample enthusiasm, dancing eagerly at Rosie's feet with several calls of greeting. It had been a long time since they'd spent time with Rosie! A dark form in Mieu's peripheral vision - or, more accurately, the sweet scent of what that dark form held - caught the Flareon's attention, and he turned to Yuri with a pleasant "fieuuu!" 'Say hi,' right? What was he doing all the way over there?

Yuri was enjoying his banana and kiwi crepe when he heard Mieu's distinctive cry and looked back over in the direction of Luke and the girl. He paused mid chew to look at the blue Flareon, wondering what the Pokemon wanted.
Repede looked as well, ears tilting up as he barked back towards the Flareon. The Growlithe got to his paws and made his way over to Mieu.
Ah hell. Yuri supposed he should get up and say hello as well. Taking his sword by the hilt, he flipped it up into the air and caught it again, before resting the sheathed blade on his shoulder as he stood. With that, he walked towards Luke and Rosie, taking another bite of his crepe. Damn these things were good.

"I figured that we already started in Hoenn, I got the first two badges, might as well try for the third, right?" She explained with a grin, pulling her hand back and looking down at the metal badge in her hand. her fingers closed around it as she looked back to her friend, still looking content and pleased with his answer... or what could be definitely be taken as relief. "Around here boring is a pretty good thing."
Luke let Mieu out next, prompting the blond trainer to drop down to her knees in delight and greet the Flareon with a warm embrace, laughing along with his happy dancing. "Hello Meiu! I missed you~"
His attention was pulled away, the blue eyes blinking curiously, Rosie followed the gaze over at another boy sitting at another bench, and a Growlithe walking over to Mieu. Eyebrows arching, she let the Flareon go, pushing herself back to her feet and watching at the black haired boy came over. "Oh... He's from Grande Ile too it looks like."

Boring was definitely more than welcome, which was sort of ironic considering it had been boredom at the root of the reason he'd left home in the first place. Luke never would have thought he would be looking forward to uneventfulness. He felt distinctly guilty for gleaning over obviously not-boring events, but things had been quiet enough recently enough that he felt confident that he wasn't outright lying, at least.
Mieu's white fluff of a tail waved back and forth excitedly, accepting the hug warmly. One could never reject a Rosie hug, especially when it had been so long since the last! One being released, the Flareon moved to properly greet the approaching Growlithe, smiling brightly at the fellow fire-type. Mieu appreciated uneventfulness as well, especially when it was shared with friends.
Luke was a little surprised at himself for failing to noticed Yuri; he'd always thought he was kind of observant with all that sword training. Even Rosie's immediate analysis was sharp, though he was reassured by the fact that he'd come to the same conclusion shortly after meeting the man. He raised a hand, "Sure see you around a lot lately. It's like we live in the same city or something."

Yuri smirked and placed a hand on his hip as he joined the pair.
"Hey, this is my turf now, gotta do regular patrols to make sure you're not up to no good."
He then looked down at Rosie. "And who's this observant little lady? A girlfriend or something?"
With that he took another bite of his crepe, the dessert quickly starting to disappear. Repede though walked over to Mieu and touched noses with him in greeting before sitting down and looking up at the humans.

Luke was quick to give the impression that he knew this other man, This took her by surprise, though she quickly figured that it was probably someone he knew from back at his old home, like Guy and Natalia.
She stood by politely as the two spoke, before the darker hairned man looked to her, and inquired about her. The assumption he did make caused her large blue eyes to widen, a blush appearing on her cheeks before she giggled lightly, lifting a hand to her mouth and shaking her head. "No, I'm just his friend." She replied, glancing over to Luke, then back to the new man. "My name is Rosie." She told him, "You two already know each other?" She asked, glancing between them.

He huffed in mock indignation at the implication that he ran around doing... what? Petty crimes? It was sort of an amusing image, though; he'd give it that.
The words to follow were unexpected, and Rosie's response gave Luke the luxury of not having to answer himself. A hand moved idly to the back of his neck, a frown tugging at his expression. "What she said." He sure hoped he wasn't blushing, because that would just ruin the nonchalance.
He cleared his throat briefly, addressing the change in subject, "Yeah, from like... I dunno, a while back? He's helped out with a lot of things." He words erred slightly closer to a murmur.

"Rosie, huh? Fitting for a girl who likes pink. Kinda like Luke-bot's face." Oh no, he hadn't missed the blushes, and Luke certainly wasn't going to get away with it either.
"I'm Yuri," he then said back in introduction. The blue Growlithe then looked up at the humans and gave a bark. "And this is Repede."
He was a little surprised as Luke admitted that he'd been a help. Yuri hadn't really thought much about it. He had just been doing what he did best, and so to that he just gave a shrug.

In her usual manner, Rosie gave the two who just got introduced a small, polite curtsey, looking from the man to his beautiful Growlithe "Yuri, and Repede, its a pleasure to meet you both. Espesially if you are friends of Luke, it seems like such a small world sometimes, doesn't it." She added with a more amused look. "Rai Raichu~" "This is Kiss Kiss." The Raichu recived her introduction, the larger mouse pokemon hopping forward and right up to the new pokemon.
She did pause a moment to consider what he had said about fitting names. "Luke-bot?" She asked, in a way to clarify, she was certainly missing something.
