[1] Identification and Personal Information ---------------------------------------
Name: Shawn "Shadow" Darrow
Codename: Shadow
Rank: Grunt
Age: 16 years
Gender: Male
Height: 5'6" or 167.64 cm
Weight: 133 lbs or 60.327 kg
Blood Type: AB
Hair: Black, naturally straight, but styled with spikes forward, bangs in front, and cropped short in the back
Eyes: Sepia; 'Light Brown'
Skin: Dark tan; reddish-brown (Native American heritage)
Voice: Jason Marsden
Hometown: Goldenrod City, Johto Region
Overall Appearance: He wears an over-sized, white, tattered T-shirt under a long, black coat reaching to his mid-calf with a red Rocket 'R' marked both on the left sleeve and the right edge of the bottom hem. He also wears baggy, over-sized dark jeans. He has an abnormally skinny and scrawny build due to years of malnutrition and near-starvation on the streets.
Despite his ragged, worn, hand-me-down clothing, he usually has a determined, if slightly paranoid, demeanor. He can be considered overly cautious, but once he makes up his mind to do something, his recklessness takes over and he rushes into situations without thinking. Abandoning all caution is the only way he can bypass his fear, but it is obviously not without consequences. Because of this, he more often than not comes to regret his decisions and has learned that sometimes it's better to submit to higher authorities.
He usually wears a solemn or frustrated expression and can be found lost in thought. Of course that's only if he's not fretting over some pokemon or how it might attack him in his sleep. He tends to look over his shoulder a lot and wear a disconcerted expression as a default, probably due to his slight paranoia resulting from being wary of wild ghost and poison urban pokemon all his life. Shawn is always ready to be quick on his feet and thus he easily considers running away his best talent. When he's fairly sure he's safe, however, he walks with a more confident air than one would expect from a homeless kid living on the streets of Goldenrod City. Having raised himself, he has a certain amount of pride and it certainly shows in his posture that he's become a very independent young teen through the years.
Demeanor, usual expression, how he carries himself
- Before and after the change
Type Specialities: Ghost and Poison Details: Reference pictures on Shawn Darrow (please excuse the pokemorph ones. The difference between his human clothes and pokemorph clothes is that as a pokemorph he has no shirt or shoes. As a human, he has a plain white shirt (dirty and ragged; perhaps a little over-sized), dirty, worn-down tennis shoes, very baggy dark blue jeans, and a black long coat with red 'R's on the left sleeve and at the hem on the right side. His ethnicity is something equivalent to Native American in the pokemon world, though he was born in Goldenrod City and grew up living on the streets. All necessary info can be found here: http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=5922623&page=1 and here: http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?page=1&t=16214935#196428600
If possible, could his expression be something between this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v280/Fantasy_Island/Shawn Emoticons/Annoyed.png and this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v280/Fantasy_Island/Shawn Emoticons/Glare.png please? And for his item/accessory, could he be holding either a dark ball, the hold item Black Sludge, or nothing?
Personality: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paranoid_schizophrenia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oppositional_defiant_disorder http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/oppositional-defiant-disorder/DS00630 http://aacap.org/page.ww?name=Children+with+Oppositional+Defiant+Disorder§ion=Facts+for+Families
Paranoid Pokephobe Reckless • Before: Rebellious, Daredevil, Trouble-maker, Prankster, Hooligan, Reckless, Self-confident • After: Depressed, Lonely, Sarcastic, Passive, Self-loathing, Intimidated, increasingly Obedient, though occasionally somewhat Defiant. (Side note: Personal defiance does not appear to be too much of a problem. Subject is predicted to discard all resistance over time.)
Shadow's history has taken its toll on him. He no longer remembers who he once was or how he came to be. His memories were wiped thanks to the Rockets. He tends to be sarcastic and witty, lashing out at those who seek to use him. He knows its hopeless. Most of the time he's too depressed to do anything but follow orders. He's been through a lot of pain and anguish, physically, mentally, and emotionally. What's left of him is a broken spirit; a ghost. It's a struggle for him sometimes to covince himself he's not nothing, and fears the day when he will fail and disappear forever.

Personality: Ears pressed back against her skull most of the time; snarling expression
Username: Shawn Darrow Pokemon Name: Lindsay Type: Jolteon Gender: Female Stages: only one Markings/Coloration: Normal (maybe a little more goldenrod/golden yellow than most Jolteon? Details: Would it be possible to give her an angry/power-hungry expression, perhaps? She's obsessed with her trainer, Shawn, but to the point of insanity, practically. He fears pokemon and she does not realize this. She takes his fear as love and respect for her and her power.
Would it be possible to give her an angry/power-hungry expression, perhaps? She's obsessed with her trainer, Shawn, but to the point of insanity, practically. He fears pokemon and she does not realize this. She takes his fear as love and respect for her and her power.
As a young pokemon, Lindsay was badly-trained and repeatedly abused. Whe was bred, hatched, born, and raised in the care of Team Rocket. While this sort of treatment has various long-term effects for different pokemon of various natures, Lindsay was once a docile Jolteon as long as she was aware that someone else was in control. Born and raised as an eevee who was forced to evolve too fast, her mental state is still a little childish as far as temperaments go. As long as she knows someone’s in charge, she’ll do whatever it takes to please that person in hopes she’ll reap the benefits. (At least that was how she was until she saw non-Rocket trainers and their bonds with their pokemon, grew envious of such bonds, and wanted more, realizing she was only a tool to the Rockets.)
Still, if too much power falls into her hands, Lindsay is most certainly the type to use it to her benefit. Without a trainer or master to bow to, she will attempt to boss around whoever happens to be closest, unless of course she considers them beyond her power. She deems herself quite capable of measuring the power and weakness of both herself and others and will take advantage of whoever she deems weaker than herself.
When faced with competition, her philosophy is to win at all costs with whatever powers are available to her – one reason she is so valued as a fighting pokemon to her masters. Lindsay considers herself to be quite an able individual and trains hard every day. Losing is not an option.
A clever but cruel and nasty-tempered leader, Lindsay is a vicious, manipulative control freak. (Er...at least she will be.) Treat ‘em mean, keep ‘em keen – a principle she learned from her previous masters.
Biography: Lindsay was an eevee raised by Team Rocket to fulfill life serving a facility guard who kept prisoners from escaping the grounds. After all, one can never have too many pokemon when on guard duty, right? A Jolteon certainly seemed far more intimidating than a newly-hatched eevee, and so it was not long before she was deliberately evolved with a Thunder Stone. Though her childish mind was still growing and learning and being bratty as neglected children are prone to do, her temperament was forever changed when she evolved.
She began to behave more aggressively, which would have been fine for her purpose had those she served not been included. Still, they kept her on as a guard pokemon, until she began to erupt from her pokeball before she was even called out. As soon as she released herself, she would shock whoever she identified as meager captives of the isle trying to escape, eager to please her masters. Unfortunately, she wasn’t always correct with her assumptions of her targets and ended up shocking some of the staff at Team Rocket as well. That was when they decided she was too dangerous for a pokemon merely on guard duty; she was a creature whose talents would be put to good use. So instead of remaining in the hands of a mere security guard, Lindsay served the experienced fighters who took out the humans attempting to resist capture.
It was these tasks the Jolteon most enjoyed. She looked at her new promotion as a reward for her excellent usefulness. No longer was she to remain idle in her pokeball, but instead was ordered to round up more captives for ‘medical’ experiments. She especially relished the times when the target was some sort of pokemon trainer and they fancied a battle before they would be taken in. It was then she shone brightest, allowed to show off her pokemon abilities to their full potential. The humans were foolish to hope their pokemon could save them, Lindsay thought. But soon a new outlook changed her. Gradually she began to notice some trainers did have deep bonds with their pokemon. She didn’t quite believe it at first, but then she noticed battles fought when her opponent expressed the same passion and ferocity she did – all for the sake of their masters. There was something spurring these weaklings on…something…but what? It enhanced their willpower and attack power significantly! What could it have possibly been? She had to know!
Loyalty. Devotion. She knew those well enough, for she worked hard for those very reasons. But friendship was one thing she would have never suspected existed. Not until the day she lost a battle.
The pokemon and trainer had fought side by side…Lindsay had been about to finish off the battle when the trainer dove forward and took the hit! She had been so stunned by this turn of events that she didn’t see the second attack aimed at her before she blacked out, unable to move. They had worked together, but their improvised technique had required something beyond teamwork. It was friendship, and though the concept was just dawning on Lindsay’s mind, she had been unable to name the strange phenomenon.
As she was recalled into her pokeball and sent to recover in the infirmary, the Jolteon pondered the idea the whole time. What motivated this concept? How could a human and pokemon possibly feel such compassion toward each other as to risk themselves? Yes, she as a pokemon felt obligated to fight for her master and her loyalty was strong, but never once had she wondered what it might be like if her master cared for her too - if her master even cared at all. She soon found out the answer to this, however; just as she was finishing her recovery, she heard her humans talking. They spoke of her loss and what might be her fate. They spoke of using her as an experiment with the rest of the captive pokemon.
Now to most pokemon, this may not have been such a bad fate. But to Lindsay, hearing herself referred to in the same reference with the captives - the ‘losers’ as she liked to think of them, since losing made them into prisoners - it was demeaning. She couldn’t bear to hear it. They thought she was as bad as the captives?! Simply because her masters had never told her about this thing called ‘friendship’ and how it significantly enhanced pokemon powers?! It wasn’t her fault she had lost! If her own trainer had put in just a little more effort, she would have taken the pair down. It was her trainer’s fault she had lost, she surmised. Lindsay was determined to find a stronger trainer - one she could discover this…’friendship’ with. Then she would be able to attain her highest potential in power. Nothing would defeat her or her new master ever again.
Lindsay escaped the infirmary and took off like lightning before they could find her. She tore down the hallways of the Team Rocket Headquarters, dodging the staff. Thanks to her previous occupations, she knew her way around the building. The problem was finding a strong trainer. The ones all imprisoned here were ones she had defeated, and she had no desire to bond with any weak human. How was she to find someone strong in a place like this? It was a facility for the injured.
Just as she was about to give up hope, an idea came to mind. She passed a door that smelled only of human…it was nearly overpowered by the undeniable stench of human trash, but there was almost no trace of pokemon scent on the boy. It was very odd. She thought she’d heard of this one…she helped take down the wild Haunter that had been chasing him. However, she’d never seen the boy himself. Tentatively, she entered the open door.
Shawn of course, being who he was, was frightened of her immediately; too frightened to shoo her away. So when the Rockets came looking for the escaped Jolteon in his room, he wouldn't tell them she was under his bed. For one thing, the boy had no idea what a Jolteon was, and for another, the creature had been too quick for him to get a good look at it. He couldn’t confirm any descriptions of theirs. Whether out of fear of her or pity for the doomed pokemon, the boy narrowly managed to avoid too many more questions before kicking the staff out of his room. They could see he was clearly disturbed by the thought of a pokemon on the loose, and with his record of pokemon fear, the staff were confident the boy would be the first to notify them of any pokemon sighting. For one reason or the other, though, Shawn couldn’t bring himself to turn the Jolteon in.
Lindsay was pleasantly surprised by the boy’s actions and took it to mean he cared for her, having never actually been cared for by a trainer before. She decided the boy would be her new master. He did seem a bit shaky, but he had left on her a lasting impression. Surly the fact that he had stuck up for her was a symbol of his friendship.
It quite evaded the pokemon that the boy’s mind was far from the idea of making friends. They got along alright for some time. Shawn ate only as little food from the facility as he needed to sustain himself because he didn’t trust the staff. Therefore he didn’t object to the Jolteon finishing off his meals. Through small gestures such as this, Lindsay gradually grew to like the boy very much…so much, in fact, that while her friendly affections for him were far from being mutual, without her knowing they blossomed into something considerably more. However, she was never able to express such feelings to him, for as a human, he would never learn to understand pokemon.
Strengths: She’s very good at taking orders; almost as good as she is at giving them. Training as hard as she does everyday, with or without a trainer, Lindsay has become a very skilled fighter in the art of battle. She has learned to alter her attacks for use in more, clever, ways than just a direct hit, and having been raised by the facility she was to guard, she was certainly given a lot of experience. Though she seems to have a talent for sensing another’s power, she is also very good at exploiting weaknesses, particularly of people and/or pokemon she doesn’t like. Her words can be both persuasive and manipulative towards her victims, and she will try to tear them apart mentally before attempting to do it physically. Her loyalty is withstanding, however, and her eager-to-please attitude makes her a valued and passionate fighter if you have her devotion. Just remember to stay on her good side. She is definitely of a dominating alignment and enjoys her place as one of Team Rocket. Still, as a pre-maturely evolved eevee, Lindsay has a lot to learn about the outside world ways of pokemon and humans – much like her chosen master, Shawn Darrow.
Weaknesses: However good she is at taking orders, though, Lindsay is by no means good at taking criticism or failure. She will not stand for failure in herself or others. When something doesn’t go her way, Lindsay can have a very nasty temper. With a cruel disposition even in the best of times, she isn’t someone to be near when she’s angry, for she’s prone to lash out at whoever happens to be handy. Thus she hasn’t been known to make too many friends, human or pokemon. Instead she’s developed a well-known reputation for her high temper and cruel disposition. Also, in battle Lindsay can tends to act rashly or improvise on orders she was given. Being bent on revenge is one of her major weak points, as she will put it above her own self-interest and as a result will often do foolish deeds without heeding the consequences.
Future Plans for Character or Any Extra Info: The Jolteon supposedly gets along better with humans than pokemon, but only if she considers the human worthy of being her master. Otherwise they’re all fair game to her. She doesn’t understand the possibility of human fear for pokemon in general and therefore has little regard toward some of the more cowardly captives of the isle. She doesn't get along with pokemon too well merely because of the idea she considers them all weaklings for having allowed themselves to be captured by Team Rocket.
Lindsay’s outlook on experimentation is simply that humans are greedy. She imagines that they want to share their pokemons' magnificent powers – as if having the loyalty and power of pokemon like Lindsay at their disposal isn’t enough. The Jolteon isn’t too thrilled at all with this idea, as not only is she offended by the fact the humans want more than just good pokemon, but she doesn’t like how they dare to go against nature either. If humans were meant to be born with pokemon powers and traits, they would have been. The creations from lab experiments are likely to make Lindsay sick. If the humans wanted to mess themselves up and turn into freaks, it wasn’t her problem. It wasn’t like they’d ever be able to attain full powers like their pokemon anayway, with their restraining human characteristics. In fact, she heard it caused a lot of experiments pain to use such attacks, and Lindsay found this wholesomely satisfying to know.
As far as her perception on pokemon experimentation…likely no better. If anything, it’s worse. She feels that turning a pokemon humanoid is one of the worst things you could possibly do to them and Lindsay is highly against such an idea. She looks at it as a part of the humans’ greed – not only do they want to share their pokemons’ powers, but they want to reduce their pokemons’ as well. Still, she supposes it’s an acceptable fate for pokemon captives who were unable to prove themselves strong enough to escape from or win against Team Rocket. The only reason she ever submits to being experimented on herself in the first place is due to Shawn’s sudden disappearance and, shortly following, his peculiar loss of memory.
She soon discovers that he was used in the experimentation and that he develops into a monster beyond either of their recognition. Her hope of heightening her potential through friendship is lost with Shawn, and soon she sees his new identity as alien and a threat. To her, Shawn is dead, and her only answer then is to turn to revenge. The best way she can find revenge is to modify herself and become what he is – a pokemorph, so that she can speak with him; humiliate, and torture him…and one day she would let him know the reason why. But until that day, she would have him suffer in vain - he has no idea of the reason behind her hatred.
In humanoid form, Lindsay finds it slightly more difficult to control her attacks, but with her constant training she gradually learns to use her new body to her advantage. It infuriates her to no end that Shadow has no memory of her, even if he has as few memories of himself. To her, Shadow was the one that killed Shawn, not Team Rocket. It’s Shadow’s fault, and she hates him for it, even if he has no idea why. After all, she had never loved another human so deeply, nor known what love meant. She never found out, either. Perhaps one day someone will teach her what it means.

[14] Team Rocket Forums ---------------------------------------
 Results for "Rocket Shadow"
Common:
"Haha, that kid is afraid of his own shadow! Maybe that's how he got his code name." "Preeetty sure he had pokephobia. How sad is that? He's gotten better since he joined Team Rocket, though." "That Jolteon of his was crazy even before she was given to him. She wouldn't listen to anyone before, but now, for some reason, she's disturbingly attached to the guy." "That kid's never held a pokeball or owned a pokemon until he joined this organization. Think it was out of poverty or fear?" "I heard he asks for the graveyard shift as a hallway monitor because he can't get to sleep at night. Something about perpetual nightmares." "He hardly eats or sleeps. You'd think he was anorexic with those skinny limbs, but when he eats, it's like there's no tomorrow! Uncommon:
"He seems very paranoid about everything and everyone, but he trusts pokemon - especially ghosts - the least." "He's a stubborn kid; defiant at times when he's not shaking in his sneakers. It may be foolish, but his maturity shows when he's brave for what he believes in." "Street smarts are about all the 'smarts' this teen's got. He's never been to school and he's been homeless all his life. His greatest strength is running." "Isn't it weird that he has so many ghost and poison-types when he's so frightened of them? I guess out of all pokemon, he's had the most experience and knowledge regarding those, though..." "Seems like his mother died from Muk poisoning when he was young. His old man abandoned him soon after that. Must be why he grew up so independent. Rare:
"Did you hear he almost helped Lance to escape? Twice? I'm amazed he's still alive!" "You know, sometime after being promoted to Grunt, he stopped answering to the name 'Shawn'. He acted like he'd never heard it before." "Poor boy. Maybe he gets those nightmares because of the ghost pokemon like he says, but maybe it's just the guilt of being a criminal. He's too young for his heart to have hardened to that sort of thing." Impossible to Confirm:
"His mind and memories were messed with by a pokemon from the labs. Intentionally. An Elite Agent saw to it." "He doesn't really want to be a Rocket. He's only here because he has a warm bed, food on his plate, and because if he tries to leave, they'll kill him."
