The sign that was posted was one that caught Chalcedony's not long after he went into Sol. It wasn't the sign itself but instead the group of people that it caused to gather around it, causing the big Shifter to find himself a bit curious. What was going on? What did the sign say? Why were so many people gathered around it? It was something that he found himself drawn to, making his way through the crowd of people that seemed to be debating over what they wanted to do... and once he saw what the sign said he could understand the hesitation. It would appear as though someone had placed a bounty of menzuri, calling for 'powerful hunters' to go forth and hunt the creatures down. Once they were dead the one offering the bounty wanted the hunters to bring back the legs and heads of the dangerous creatures for various reasons, as well as a bonus being offered for any webbing that was safely gathered.
It was a rather dangerous request, wasn't it? Those gathered weren't exactly the most powerful looking people meaning that they were just debating going along on the dangerous adventure because it was offering a fair amount of coin. It was something that had Chalcedony shaking his head, feeling that all the sign was going to do was get people killed. Walking right up to it pulled it down, rolled it up, and tucked it into his pack, "You needn't worry about going on such a dangerous quest, your lives are worth more then the coin being offered." With that he was on his way. He'd do it, he'd hunt down the menzuri, gather the bits that the person wanted, and then once he did so he'd chew them out for putting such a dangerous sign up where just anyone could see it. Not until he got paid, of course, he wasn't going to risk getting less then what was being offered just because he was going to scold the one that was after the menzuri bits.
Once he was outside of Sol, and away from those who weren't too pleased with him taking off with the bounty poster, he looked around. Alright, where to go to find the dangerous spiders? He'd heard rumor about a few of them setting up near to Andile but those ones had already been take care of before they were able to do any harm. As such it meant that he was going to have to go out further then he usually did for a hunt to find some of them. It was always a strange feeling to go out into the world seeking out something so dangerous but it was better that someone as well trained and well equipped as him did this particular quest, to keep others, especially the brave and stupid, from trying to do the quest themselves. The last thing he wanted was for anyone to get killed because they wanted to make some quick coin or because they thought that it was some sort of challenge that they could actually take on. It made him think of his own sons and the mere idea that they might have seen the sign and wanted to go on the quest made his stomach twist into knots.
No, he wouldn't think about that, he would go forth, take care of the menzuri, and make sure that the fool who was requesting their pieces wasn't able to put up such signs again. Instead he'd see to it that whoever it was instead saw to hiring on legitimate hunters that were ready to deal with such a dangerous adversary! A long walk, and a lot of internal monologue about sending young people off to do dangerous work later and Chalcedony had found his way to where a trio of menzuri seemed to be setting up their webs in hopes of catching unsuspecting prey and travelers. He took in exactly where each of them was, what they were doing, how close together they were, where the webs were. He needed to know every last detail if he was going to fight against a potentially lethal opponent.
After a time of studying his trio of opponents he decided how he wanted to make his first strike against the closest menzuri to him. Taking his shield off his back he moved forward, using the reflective surface of his trust shield to flash back a ray of sun light into the eyes of the closest of the spiders. The creature gave a shriek, charging at him despite its blindness, and with every bit of his impressive strength Chalcedony brought his shield down on the blinded menzuri, crushing it. Giving a nod he murmured to himself, "Not bad." Shaking the sticky bits of menzuri off his shield be prepared for the retaliation from the other two that was sure to come.

It didn't take but a moment after Chalcedony crushed the first of the menzuri for the other two to come charging his way. He was expecting the reaction from them so he was more then prepared, lifting up his massive shield in front of him swiftly, causing one of the menzuri to crash into it face first. He watched it as it stumbled off, hoping that the fangs hadn't been damaged too much. It wouldn't get him as much of a payment after all and while he was quite upset with the one that posted the sign that didn't mean he wasn't going to get payment for his work. Turning his attention to the second menzuri, this one looking a bit smarter as he slowed down so as not to bounce off his shield in the same manner as the first one. It was more wary, moving in a slow manner, trying to circle around him. It was that wary reaction from the beast that allowed him to then lunged forward, bring the bottom of his shield down on the dazed menzuri, removing it's head from it's body before whirling around to fend off the attack from the second one.
"I can see why the lot of you are considered so dangerous." They could move quite fast when they wanted to, they had venom in their fangs that he wanted to avoid lest the creature was able to bite him. If that happened then it was possible that he would be taken down by the beast. Not something that he even wanted to consider so he was careful to keep his shield between the menzuri and himself, fending off each attack and retaliated with one of his own. It was a slow going battle against the final one as it seemed to be a lot more cautious. It was either due to its experience or the fact that it had seen two of its fellow spider cut down. Either way it took a lot longer before Chalcedony was able to find an opening and was finally able to strike the beast down.
Once they were all taken out the Shifter gave a sighing sound of relief, looking around the area very carefully before his shield was returned to his back. The trio had been taken care of and they wouldn't be able to bother any travelers that might come to this place. Now to do what he'd actually come here to do, which was to collect the various bits that the spiders for... well, whoever it was out there that wanted the things. Legs, fangs, spinnerets, and a the webbing if he was able to find any of it.
The menzuri bits were slowly, and very carefully, gathered up, wrapped up and tucked into Chalcedony's pack. As he stuffed it with the various pieces he found himself thinking that he was going to have to scrub his pack clean. The last thing he wanted was to put any food, water, or supplies in a bag that was filled with spider bits. Just the thought about it made his nose wrinkle before he continued on with the gathering of spiders pieces. Once everything was gathered from the spiders themselves he picked up a long, thick tree branch and used it to gather up the webs that the menzuri had been weaving in the trees, getting a thick ball of them.
"Alright, that should be enough." He murmured to himself, heading out with his shield on his back, pack over his shoulder, and the stick covered in glittering webbing in hand.
