Keilana Post 1
The day had started out like any other day, the sun rose and it was hot and dry. The closer she got to the end of her pregnancy the more she swore that the sun was out to kill her. It made her miserable....and with a whole month still left she felt like she was going to explode. The leaf tribe woman was still annoyed at her brother for exploding at her when she had come home, and she was still sore at Takoda for blabbing...even if it was by accident.
Still she had to live with them even if the progress of her new home was slow to come about she still had time right?
Today though was a nerve wracking day, as she had instructed Chalcedony that it was time for her brother and Takoda to find out who the father was of her unborn child. Better now she supposed than after the baby was born...else they may think that Chalcedony was trying to shirk off his daddy duties.. which wasn't true.
Her hand on her rather large stomach she wondered idly...just how big a baby had to get before it was going to come out....it was wriggling about so much lately and it even seemed to have gotten heavier and lower than normal the last week or so. Strange pains had been running through the night and that morning. Sometimes they lasted only a moment or two catching her breath other times they seemed to never end. It was those times in the middle of the night she wished Chalcedony was here with her.
Confused, she fully intended to ask Takoda what it could mean, she knew of false labour..in fact Takoda had warned her about false contractions, her body getting ready to bring the baby out into the world but these seemed too intense and real to be fake ones. A hand on her rather large stomach to try and reassure herself.
"Be patient...your father has to meet your uncle...and ...aunt.....? first..." She murmured as she went to stand up and ...failed. Tired she knew she needed to pee, but the baby weighed down on her legs...and getting up sounded so very tiring.

Jacinthus Post 1
Jacin was on his way back from a hunt, an aldabuk slung over one shoulder, sighing a bit as he went. He'd thought that heading out early in the day would make things a lot easier on him, having wanted to avoid the heat of the day. It wasn't as easy as he'd like it to have gone though, the aldabuk having been on the move as well due to it being cooler during the earlier part of the day. He was so happy as to be heading back though, wanting nothing more then to get back, get the aldabuk dealt with, so that he could get the meat on the fire. He wasn't sure if it was normal for a pregnant woman, this was the first time he was around one for long periods of time, but it felt like Keilana was eating the same amount as a pack of Witu might. Not to mention she was just a snappish and dangerous... he'd be happier when she popped the kid out. Normal Kei was dangerous enough, pregnant Kei was terrifying...
"Ahhh, finally." He said, seeing the village come into view. He would need to take care of the aldabuk where his mate wouldn't see, not wanting for Takoda to see. As helpful as he tried to be he wasn't all that much help as far as cleaning animals was concerned. Better that he was left in charge of other things, like Keilana... though she didn't seem to be all that happy with the Healer of late. Jacinthus knew that was his fact, he'd ended up yelling at her for being irresponsible as well as various other things the moment he saw her again after Takoda spilled the beans, telling him all he knew about her. In hindsight maybe he should have gone about things differently but still, it was a shocker at the time!
The Hunter pulled the aldabuk off his shoulder, dropping it to the ground, and lifted his gaze for a moment to look toward the house. If he saw Takoda he'd of chased him off but instead he saw Keilana looking rather ill. He looked between her and the beast, debated over it a moment, before he sighed and walked toward her. Best that he check on her, he didn't want her getting sick after all if she saw what he was up to. She seemed more sensitive of late to things that normally didn't bother her and she would probably strangle him if she lost her breakfast over him gutting an animal, "You gonna lose it again, not-so-little Kei?" He asked as he got closer, wiping his hands off on his clothing as he got closer.

Takoda Post 1
Takoda had been up, sleeping restlessly as Keilana and he wasn't pregnant. In fact his restless sleep was due to the fact he had a nagging suspicion that Keilana was having more than one baby. Being a monk, and his memories of his mother helping as a midwife to those in their village he had seen how big a woman with child could be when it was time for them to deliver them. And...Keilana still had a month to go...and she was massive.
Nightmares plagued his dreams of the woman going into labour with no one able to help her. Her loosing the babies...or even her own life in the process of labour...he was nervous that much was certain. The shifter fully intended to help Keilana when the time called for it, but despite his knowledge he had never helped deliver a baby before...or rather babies in this case.
No no he couldn't jump to conclusions, after all maybe the father was a really large man. Thus the baby was very big. Of..course that meant that there could be problems for Keilana in the long run as well.
Chewing on a herb to try and help regain his energy he perked up when he heard his lover come back. He made a comment to his sister who must be up now. The...question was a curious one and it caused him to look over, of course his skin prickled when he spotted the dead animal on the ground. Dragging his gaze away he peered at the pair...wondering what was going on. Staying where he was to give them some privacy though he started the breakfast fire.

Keilana Post2
Keilana wanted to bite her brother but there was a sharp pain that rippled through her stomach muscles, causing a sharp intake of breath her eyes scrunched shut in pain. Wanting to curl up in a pain ball she was of course unable to due to her large belly, her hands went to her stomach as if she was trying to sooth the baby, or try to calm it down. When the pain passed she sighed in relief and then cast an annoying glance at her brother. Sweat seemed to have gathered at her brow and it didn't seem likely it was due to the heat.
"No...I am not going to 'lose it'. " Keilana snapped, leaning back on the rock she was sitting on allowing her baby bump to project forward quite dramatically. "The baby is ...just unhappy." Keilana said though it was more of a reassurance on her part than it was for her brother. One hand dropped off her stomach to support her weight the other continued to rub it.
Dark circles were under her eyes, it appeared she had another sleepless night, though there was a pained expression that seemed unable to leave her features this time around. Maybe the baby was just hungry? She pondered on that and then went to stand up, wobbling as she did so, it took a large amount of effort to not collasp right then and there due to how tired she was, but she was standing.

Jacinthus Post 2
As his sister sent to snarling at him Jacinthus starred at her for a long moment then said, "I see." She was in as friendly a mood as ever he thought to himself before he said, "Maybe prowling around isn't a good idea if the baby isn't in a good mood? Maybe you should try sitting your something?" As if he had any idea what someone should do in this sort of situation. He knew little to nothing about pregnant women, babies, or how they should act whilst carrying one but that didn't meant that he wouldn't offer up suggestions. Maybe his sister just needed rest? Carrying around all that weight couldn't be good for her back he thought to himself... words he wasn't nearly stupid enough to say out loud since he didn't want to get his teeth kicked in.
"How about you sit down and I will see about trying to find you something to eat? The aldabuk I brought home with me won't be ready for some time but I am sure we have to have something left in the house for you to eat." At least he assumed so... unless she got into what food they had left while he was away hunting, something that was a distinct possibility. Still, he could look around, see what he could find, and see if whatever he found would help to calm the kid that Keilana was carrying.

Takoda Post 2
The shifter was watching the pair, eyeing up Keilana's stomach and realizing something that was a bit of a shock to him. The baby had dropped. When...did that happen? Blinking his eyes flickered to her tired face, the face she looked rather worn out and how her hand continue to go to her stomach as if she was trying to appease it.
Licking his lips in a nervous fashion he glanced back at his pathetic attempt to stay out of it before he finally pushed himself up and standing. Jacinthus for once was recommending the right thing...Keilana needed to sit down. Okay not just sit down but lay down. Walking over he tried to give them both a half smile.
"Keilana ..can I ask you a question? I notice you don't look like you've slept well, and the baby looks like its gotten rather..'heavy'. Have you been feeling any weird pains lately?"

The leaf tribe woman cast a glare at the shifter, as though his words had hurt more than the pains she had been feeling recently.
"You try having a baby in your belly doing back flips all night. Of course I am tired." She snapped, taking a deep breath as she felt those pains coming on again. Wobbling she sank back to her rock chair and looked as if someone had kicked her in the stomach.
"Ahhh...y..es..okay yes! I've been having these strange pains on and off all night...and thi..tHIS ..m..morning." She gasped between the pains.

He was pretty sure that he was missing something when Takoda came over and started to question Keilana about how she'd been sleeping and the baby and how it looked as though it had gotten heavy. A strange sort of comment, of course it had, so had Keilana, that was natural right? The part about the pain had him turning to look at Takoda before he said, "She rather looks like she is in pain." He said, knowing his sister she would probably try to claim she was fine. She was far to hard headed if you asked him! Not that anyone was asking him at the moment but that didn't matter, he'd say it anyway. Much to his surprise though she actually admitted it, that she had been in pain on and off all night and this morning.
At that Jacin's eyes went wide, "That long? And you didn't say anything?! Damn it Kei! You should have said something so that we could make sure that you are alright!" He said, worry tinging his voice as he hurried over to her, kneeling down next to her, looking her over before he turned to look over at Takoda, "What do we do?!" He didn't want to admit it but he was terrified. He'd lost his parents when he was little, spent so long looking after 'little Kei' to this point, and now she was in pain and looking ill... they had to do something, had to make her better! He didn't think he could handle losing his sister.

The young woman gave her brother a glare, after all why should she need to worry him about pain she was experiencing but she flinched as the pain returned and she hissed a low breath between he teeth.
"It...its okay....right? The baby is okay..I am not due for another month or so..." Her eyes flew wide open when a new sensation washed through her...and literally she felt something wet and heavy splash between her legs.
There was a moment, a dumfounded look on her face as she dare not look down, knowing for a fact...without a doubt the baby was coming.

Takoda Post 3
The last thing he needed was Jacinthus all panicky, he placed a hand on his arm a steady pressure to reassure his lover that everything was going to be alright. Though Keilana's comment had made him double think his suspicions... and when there was the wet splash...
He knew that it was time.
"Jacinthus I need you to listen very carefully. I need water...lots of it and blankets..many of them. I need Keilana on the ground and propped up with anything comfortable you can find. " The shifter instructed as he then turned to Keilana. "I need you to focus on your breathing..I had a suspicion that you looked too low and this only confirms it. Don't panic...we will help you through this."
Taking her hand he help to lead her forward, she wasn't going to be going far, but she was going to need to take her shorts off...and lay down.

Jacinthus Post 4
Jacinthus was in a panic. None of this was within his realm of expertise, no where close in fact, and as such his mind was racing with all sorts of 'hows' and 'whys' about what it was that he was supposed to be doing at the moment. It was one of those many, many times in which he was grateful to have his mate around since Takoda it seemed had a far clearer understanding about what it was that he was supposed to be doing at the moment. Turning to look at him the Hunter swallowed hard, then nodded his head, "Ahh... yeah... water and blankets..." He said, taking a few steps toward the ladder that led toward their tree home, back to check on Keilana, then he was hurrying off and up the ladder.
The moment he was up top he was digging around for what was needed, gathering together all of the blankets he could find, wrapping them up into a big bundle, then tossed them over the railing to land near Takoda and Keilana. Once that was taken care of he set to work gathering their water skins, knowing that they carried the freshest water in them. What if it wasn't enough though? Takoda said lots of water after all... A lack of enough water was yet another to worry about he thought to himself. The moment he'd gathered all the water skins he could find he pushed to his feet, walking to the ladder again... the froze in place. He saw something a short distance away, well not something but someone, that he didn't want to see, someone that just thinking about got his hackles to rise, "What in the nine levels of Hell is that idiot doing here." He hissed out between his teeth.
Temper rising he set to making his way down the ladder again, wondering if he was going to have to chase the shield wielding idiot out of here so that they could have some semblance of peace while dealing with Keilana's labor. Much to his shock though the guy seemed to suddenly come racing toward them at a quickened pace, something that he didn't like in the least bit...

When Keilana didn't make it to where the two of them were supposed to be meeting today he had found himself more then a little worried. Sure, there were times when she was late for their meetings due to her large belly slowing her down but she never failed to show up. What if something had happened was his first thought, what if she had run herself too ragged, got exhausted, got chased by some dangers animal, or something else that could very well happen. She was a strong warrior when she was at her best but right now she wasn't in fighting condition. As such he figured that he would head to her home village, see if he couldn't figure out what was going on, but when he arrived he couldn't help but to feel a little panicked. It seemed that Keilana was in a lot of pain with both her idiot brother and Takoda hovering around her.
The moment that the archer headed up into the tree home that he shared with his sister and the Healer Chalcedony had moved to get closer, to see what was going on, wanting to help if he could. Something was up and the moment he was close enough he knew exactly what it was, he'd seen it often enough where his mother was concerned after all, Keilana was having her baby! Wasn't it too early though? She'd made it seem as though there was more time until the baby was supposed to arrive... and the fact that something had happened to make her give birth early only increased the worry that was building up inside of him. It was why he started to race forward, covering the ground between the Leaf Tribeswoman and himself as quickly as he could... though before he could reach her side the guard dog that was her brother stepped between him and where Keilana and Takoda were.
Chalcedony came to a sliding halt, trying to look around Jacinthus, before he gritted his teeth and turned his attention to the archer, "For once in your life can you get out from under my feet, archer?" He spat out at Jacinthus, not really in the mood to deal with him now, or ever really, but especially now, not when Keilana and his baby might be in some sort of trouble.

"What? Out from under your feet... you're the one that is underfoot at the moment! Nobody wants you here, jackass. We are in the middle of something rather important and stressful and you are only going to make it worse." He said in a quiet hiss between his teeth, hoping that he wouldn't be overheard by Keilana or Takoda. This guy just rubbed him in all the wrong ways, making him want to chase him back to Jauhar but for some reason he seemed to be standing his ground at the moment in a way that Jacin didn't care for. Why was he here? Why was he starring at Keilana and Takoda? What stupid thing was he planning at the moment that Jacinthus would need to kick him for?
"Look, how about you just turn around and go back to Jauhar, huh? I have more important things then to be dealing with you." He said, giving Chalcedony a dirty look before he moved to grab up the bundle of blankets, hoping against hope that when he turned around that the shield barer would be on his way to getting lost. Much to his annoyance instead he was moving toward the pair instead, something that made Jacinthus want nothing else then to wrap his hands around his neck and squeeze until the guy turned as blue as the Shifters looked when the sun set.
Hurrying forward he tossed the blanket bundle to Takoda before grabbing hold of Chalcedony by the upper arm, "Get away from my sister!" He snapped when the Shifter reached out toward her, not wanting him to get anywhere near her, let alone touch her!

Chalcedony clenched a fist at his side, feeling the overwhelming desire to take a swing at Jacinthus when the guy told him that nobody wanted him here and that he was going to make things worse. The guy told him to go back to Jauhar, that they had more important things to deal with then him, then turned to walk over to get a bundle of blankets. He shook his head before he moved to close the space between himself and Keilana, giving her a weak smile, trying not to think about what an awkward situation this was. Given everyone gathered at the moment it was likely that it was in fact going to only make things more stressful to have him here but he wasn't leaving until Keilana told him to.
When Jacinthus got closer again, daring to grab hold of Chal's arm, the Shifter rounded on him, "Back off, archer! I have as much right to be here as you do! I will be damned if I let you chase me off at such an important moment! I will be here for Keilana and for my child!" He declared to him, then blinked a couple times seeing the blank look that overcame the archer's features, a look that was quickly followed by obvious rage. It seemed that maybe he didn't know about all that yet? Well... that would explain a lot... Bah, screw it, even if he didn't know until this very moment it meant nothing in light of the fact that it was all the truth. The baby was still his even if the archer didn't like the idea and he wasn't leaving! Shrugging off Jacin's hold and glanced for a moment at Takoda, then away and toward Keilana. No, no... no reason to look at him, that was a ship that had long since sailed. Not to mention he really didn't want to explain it to him at the moment.
"Look, what matters now isn't our grudge, we can save that for later, right now we need to worry about Keilana and the baby." He said to Jacinthus without looking at him before he reached over to brush back a lock of Keilana's hair, "Unless you would prefer me to go home? If you wish it then I will go." He told her, not wanting to put undo stress on her at such a delicate time... undo stress might cause her to kill them all after all. He knew from experience that a woman in labor was unpredictable. Best they treat her with much care if they didn't want things to explode he thought to himself.
