Jacinthus attacks Chalcedony.

The two of them weren't exactly the best of friends, far from it, but they at least had a grudging respect for one another after the tournament. It had to mean something that the two of them had ended up in the final round against one another even if the end of the tournament had been rather anticlimactic. It had ended not in celebration but with a stranger speaking of war... and that was why the two of them were doing what they were doing, they were training. It was time for them to put away silly grudges and get in some practice so that they would be ready for the day that the soldiers of Oda invaded. While they weren't the best of friends they had a shared family that they wanted to see kept safe.
Reaching into his quiver Jacinthus drew one of his blue dyed arrows, "Alright, let's get this underway." He said, looking over at the shield barer. He notched the arrow drew in a deep breath, and fired it off at the Shifter before him. No reason to hold back, the two of them were both in need of more training after all if they were going to be prepared for what was coming.

Chalcedony attacks Jacinthus.

Chalcedony gave a glance to the side, back in the direction that Keilana, Takoda, and the boys were at. They didn't know what Jacinthus and Chalcedony were up to, didn't even know that Chalcedony had arrived yet. It was strange for the two of them to do anything together like this, it wasn't as though they got along that well, but this was important to both of them, more important then their grudges. They wanted to keep their families safe after all and if that meant helping one another, training with one another, it was what they would do.
As Jacin's voice called to him, getting his attention off their shared family and onto the battle, just in time too since it seemed as though the other was already firing off a shot at him. The arrow came flying his way and Chalcedony knocked it away with his wide shield before he charged forward, taking a swing at the speedy archer in return.

Jacinthus slid out of the way of the Shifter's way easily enough, giving a bit of a smile as he did so. He felt as though the other had gotten stronger. He'd been training on his own since they got back, hadn't he? Probably a good thing and it wasn't as though he wasn't doing the same. They both had things they wanted to protect so of course they were going to be pushing themselves hard to make sure that nothing, no strange foreigners, would try to mess with what was theirs. Jacinthus wasn't going to allow it and he could tell that Chalcedony wasn't either, not again at least.
Drawing another arrow he was quick to notch it, taking aim, and fired a shot at Chalcedony. He couldn't stop moving, shouldn't hold back, and shouldn't assume that just because he'd won their last battle that he would again. Chalcedony was a dangerous man with that shield of his even if most of the time he looked like a rather mellow aldabuk.

Roll for dmg: (14 + 7 )/4 = 5.25
Chalcedony saw the arrow coming his way and tried to move... but didn't quite make it. It wasn't so bad though, the arrow just barely grazed him after clipping the side of his shield so it didn't even leave much of a mark behind or really any pain either. He gave a bit of a smile before he took a couple rushed steps forward to charge at the archer once more and took a swing at him once more. Already he felt as though he were doing better then the battle during the tournament, something that had him feeling quite good about himself. The training in Jauhar with his father Bomani had been doing wonders it would seem.

Another swift dodge by Jacinthus before he was reaching for another arrow, lifting it up to notch it, "You seem to have gained some skill since the last time we fought, that is good to see. If we are going to fight off those fools from Oda we will both need to get stronger then we were in the tournament and even stronger then we are now." And they didn't have that much time, the giant of a man had said winter was when they were going to strike and he wanted to be ready for the day those of Oda dared to come forth from their lands. He would keep his family and his mate safe from them, damn it!
Another of his blue dyed arrows was sent Chalcedony's way, hoping to get in another shot, maybe even a better one, this time around.

Chalcedony saw the arrow coming this time and was able to lift his shield up to knock the arrow away yet again before he took a couple rushing steps forward, swinging his shield forward toward Jacinthus, "I agree, we are both going to have to work our asses off... though even if we both train to perfection we can do it alone. Perhaps we should consider having Keilana and Takoda train with us as well." He suggested as the battle continued, knowing full well that the two of them, even Takoda who was a Healer, would need to prepare for the coming invasion as well.

Jacinthus took a couple hopping steps back to get out of the way of Chalcedony's attack before he nodded his head, "As much as I hate the idea they do need to train as well." He agreed with Chal, not wanting to see his sister or his mate on the battlefield, but he doubted those of Oda would really leave anyone alone if they meant to invade. They would probably see everyone with a weapon as a threat and Keilana wasn't going to give up her weapon for anyone. As such it was best that they see about bringing them into the training as well, "Best that they are able to defend themselves as well even if I would rather they stayed far from the battle." He drew another arrow, notching it, and lifted it up, waiting until he saw an opening and fired away.

It seemed as though Jacinthus felt the same as he did, not wanting to see the pair on the battlefield but he doubted very highly that it would matter to Keilana or Takoda. If anything he was certain that if either of them were to tell Keilana to stay home with the children while they went off to war that she would likely beat them to death long before the troops from Oda could. Best that they could saw to it that Keilana and Takoda were trained instead, it would help them to live longer.
As the arrow came flying at him Chalcedony slid out of the way of it and swung his shield out in a wide arch at Jacinthus, hoping to perhaps hit him this time around...

The dance continued as Jacinthus slid out of the way and took yet another shot at Chalcedony. The battle was an exhausting one, the sort that he felt was going to be a drawn out, uphill sort, but regardless it was one that they were both going to get a lot stronger from. From here they would see about bringing the others into the training as well. They all needed it after all.

Chalcedony moved forward, charging at Jacinthus, the arrow he fired bouncing off his shoulder as he went. A bright blue mark that was left behind was one that he ignored for the moment as he took a swing at the archer, trying yet again to land a hit against him. He was a speedy one, wasn't he? Then again it seemed as though he always had been, hadn't he? It was up to Chalcedony to do his best to keep up with the guy and, if he was lucky, move even faster then him in an attempt to actually land a hit against the guy.

Jacinthus felt the way that the shield swished passed him, able to feel the power behind the attack, something that made him only that much more relieved that he was able to get out of the way of the attack. He bounced back a couple steps, grabbing up an arrow as he did so, before taking aim at the shield barer. He waited until just the right moment and fired off a shot at Chalcedony, trying to land another shot against the guy.
