Chalcedony was heading out of Sol, one of the many rolled up bounties in hand that he'd gathered up, an thoughtful look on his face. It was an interesting sort of job, one that didn't so much involve any sort of killing, instead it was just a job of capturing some creatures that were causing some problems outside of Sol. It seemed as though a mother radaku had given birth to a trio of pups not all that long ago... but something seemed to have happened to her. Her body had been found, a bit mangled, a couple days back and the babies were running rampant, the three of them trying to take care of themselves but without much success. Chalcedony didn't want to harm them, it wasn't their fault that they were in the situation that they found themselves in. He would need to catch them and see about them being given to someone who could raise them, perhaps some young beast tamers in training?
They would be able to grow up in the care of those that wanted them, those that would be the 'right' choice for them. It was for the best because such beasts were loyal from what Aysun had always said. His younger son had raised one of them from pup age and it had turned out pretty well, if very hyper. He would worry about the 'end game' only after he found the trio of pups and saw to it that they were caught. Once that had been done he would seek out some new homes for the stray, orphaned pups.
As he went he spotted another Shifter, giving him a smile Chal held out the rolled up paper to the man, "I was curious if perhaps you could help me out? My quarry is a trio of radaku pups that have been a bit of a menace of late."
The man took the thing from him, looking it over, before he gave a nod of his head before he said, "Yes, I was one of complained about the little whelps. They have been breaking my fish traps and stealing what I should be food for my family. I will show you to where I saw them last." The man sounded as though he was at his wit's end with the pups meaning that he was rather likely to 'deal with them' if Chalcedony didn't get rid of them himself. At least that was the what the Fortress felt looking the man over and taking in his tone of voice.
"Lead on then. I will do my best to take care of the problem." Not only would he get the payment that was being offered by those in charge of the bounties as well as getting new homes for the radaku pups. He didn't want them to be hurt and he knew that if he failed at what he wanted to do and they were hurt that Aysun would be quite sad. As such he wanted to do his best at making sure that the creatures were dealt with in a manner that was not only humane but quick, feeling that if he took too long at capturing the things that he would stress the poor creatures out. That wasn't what he wanted either, he wanted to take care of them.
The fisherman paused, lifting a hand so that he could motion with one hand at the trio of pups that were currently chewing on a rather good sized fish. Chalcedony looked at the man, over to the radaku, and back again before he gave a wince as he said, "Another of your fish I presume... I will do my best to catch them before they can steal from you again." He said, wanting to do something to put the man at ease when it came to the fish thieves.
The man gritted his teeth, giving a pained sigh, before he said, "Please do, I am starting to run low on patience with these beasts." With those words, and one last glare at the radaku pups, the man turned on heel and left Chalcedony alone with his work.
The big Fortress turned to look at pups once more, watching them as they torn the big fish apart, gulping the pieces down. It was something that made him give a bit of a shake of his head before he started forward. The fact that they had a stolen fish meant that they wouldn't be able to be bought with food. A shame. Slipping forward, sticking to the shadows best that he could, he closed the distance between himself and the pups as he prepared to try to grab them.

As he got what he felt was close enough Chalcedony erupted from the shadows, reaching out, and grabbed at one of the trio of radaku pups in a quick flurry of motion. He was able to catch old of one of them by the scruff, picking it up, and sort of juggled in the air in an attempt to keep it from escaping. It was a bit of a struggle, the creature made even more difficult to keep an hold on since it was wet from it's fishing trip. It took a moment before the creature squirmed free of his grasp, landing in front of Chalcedony, giving a growl before running away from him.
The creature didn't run off that far, surprising, instead just joining up with the other two of them before all of them set to yipping and hissing at him. It seemed as though the trio of them, while still quite small, were hoping to use numbers to scare him off. Instead Chalcedony found himself just starring at the little beasts, giving a little shake of his head, "I'm not going to leave little beasts, I am going to catch you and bring you back to Sol." As though they would actually understand what it was that he was saying he thought to himself as he started forward toward them once more.

The trio of radaku pups that were yipping at Chalcedony seemed to all scatter in different directions when Chalcedony took a step toward them. It was something that had the Fortress feeling for a moment a little dizzy as he watched the manner in which they had all run off. He was going to have to decide how he wanted to do this, which one of them he wanted to focus on, and which one he wanted to catch first. Once he caught one of them then surely it would be a bit easier to go after the others, right? Once one of them had been caught the rest might follow along after him to try to save their captured sibling. It was definitely a plan that he felt would help out, so after giving the trio a quick scan he decided to go after the most brightly colored of the pups. That one would be the easiest one to follow, therefore he'd have the easiest chance to follow along after it and catch it.
With a plan finally in mind he started forward after the brightly colored pup that was moving along at a somewhat sedate pace... until it realized that the big Shifter was coming after it. It gave a yipping, seemingly calling out for its siblings, before it quickened its pace a bit to try to keep ahead of Chalcedony. Giving a little smile Chal merely continued to follow. He knew full went that the pups, being small and young, would get tired a lot faster then Chalcedony would. He'd been training for years while carrying about a heavy metal shield on his back all the while. He was more then certain that he was going to be fine and the lot of them were going to run themselves tired, which meant that he was just going to have to keep the lot of the little ones moving so that he could get them captured before the day was over. If he was able to do that then they would soon find homes of their own, with beast tamers to look after them.
As he followed along after the brightly colored pup, one that continued to turn to yip at him, as though in attempt to get Chalcedony to just go away. It was something that had him giving a soft chuckle, "You know we can always end this quickly, all you have to do is come over to me, let me catch you, and we can head back to Sol." An offer that had the brightly colored pup speeding up just a bit. It didn't seem as though it was ready to give up so easily, something that had him giving a little shake of his head, "Alright, we can keep at this if that is what you prefer, little pup."
From one side of Chalcedony another of the pups, this one a darker green and the one among them that was the best at sneaking about, came rushing toward Chal from the side. It gave a hissing out, jumping at him, but only bouncing off of his side. As it did so the creature seemed to be more surprised by the results then Chal before it was rushing off, whining as it did so. It seemed as though the fact that Chalcedony didn't even flinch at the 'attack' seemed to displease the pup, as though it thought that he should run away or at least yelp, some kind of reaction. It had Chal laughing a bit, as though he were unable to do so because it was just kind of... cute to him.
Giving a little shake of his head he looked forward once more, toward the brightly colored pup in front of him that seemed to be lagging again. It was getting tired, even yawning from time to time, meaning that it wasn't going to take that much longer before he was finally able to scoop that one up. The dark green one might have a bit more energy then its brightly colored sibling, and as for the third one... he wasn't sure where that one was but it was likely to make its move soon enough he thought to himself. He moved to quicken his steps a bit, driving the brightly colored one to run again, wanting to exhaust it that much more quickly then he already was.
"You know this will be so much easier on every one involved if you just come back here to me." He called out, his voice causing the pup to once more yip at him before trying to hurry off.

As he got closer to the brightly colored creature he leaned over, scooping it up under one of his arms. The creature looked quite surprised, eyes going wide. It lifted its head up, starring at Chalcedony, and for a moment it almost appeared as though it was going to give up and let him keep it. It was something that made him smile, lifting a hand to scratch it under the chin. The creature seemed to be fine where it was for a moment... before it seemed to realized that it had been captured. It was something that it caused it to set to flailing around, kicking and scratching, and it was able to break away from him before rushing off once more.
Giving a shake of his head he said, "You know you're making it that much more difficult on yourself, little pup." Shaking his head as he walked forward once more. He'd almost gotten that one caught, meaning that he just had to keep it up and soon enough it was going to give up and just let Chalcedony have his way. He was going to catch them and see to it that the story ended in a good way, not a bad way.

Chalcedony had set out a little before noon to find the pups and he was pretty certain that it was mid-afternoon now and the one that he was following along after was getting quite tired. In fact it continued to sit down in front of Chalcedony, whining at him as though to tell the Shifter to stop picking on it, before starting forward once more. It was something that made him feel a little bad about it, not wanting to appear as though he was teasing the poor beast, but instead he just wanted to catch them all. Giving a sigh he said, "You could have made this a lot easier on everyone, you know. I have been telling you this since we first saw one another."
The pup gave a huffing sound, tail lashing, before it got up and started to walk again. The path that they had been walking was a rather good sized circle, something that Chalcedony knew the pup hadn't noticed. If it had it might have tried to take another path in its attempt to get away from the one that was following it around. Instead it had continued forward on its path, circling over and over again, continuing to walk until it was on the verge of falling over asleep in a heap. To keep from doing so it continued to sit down from time to time, both wanting to sleep and not wanting to sleep at the same time. It knew that it would end up being picked up if it was tired out anymore then it already had, which had its tail lashing once more.
Shaking his head Chalcedony lifted a hand to brush aside the sweat from his brow, "This is getting more difficult for me too, pup. You should just let me pick you up so that I can deal with your siblings next." He told the little one, moving his feet a little faster now. As he did that it the brightly colored pup gave a pathetic sound, turning to glare at Chalcedony before it sat down again, whining at him as he approached.
Once he got close enough, looking down at him, he shook his head, "Have you finally decided to give up so that you can finally rest up, little pup?" He asked of it, squatting down in front of him, reaching out to scratching him under the chin, "You know it's not as though it will be so bad, you will have someone to take care of you, as will your siblings." Then they wouldn't have to worry about being hungry, thirsty, alone, or hunted. They would be well taken of, he'd make sure of it... but he'd have to catch them all first. This one seemed as though he was on the edge of finally giving up though, he just had to talk the little beast into it, and give him something that was going to win him over.
Digging into his pack he got out a wrapped up package of dried meat, something that drew the attention of the brightly colored pup in front of him. Not only that one but he could actually see the dark green one come into view from some thick under growth, starring at him, and he gave a bit of a smile as he broke off a small piece of it, tossing it to the brightly colored pup first. It was something that drew a yip from the creature, grabbing up the piece of meat, gnawing on it. He gave a smile and a nod as he turned to glance over toward where the dark green beast was waiting, breaking off another piece, waving it so that he could get a look at it.
The dark green pup gave it a wide eyed look, tail lashing, before it started to creep forward toward him. He wondered if it would get close enough to him so that he would be able to catch him. He wondered if he'd be able to do so... that one had been skulking around but he knew that he hadn't been running that one ragged as much as he did the brightly colored pup. As the darker pup got closer Chalcedony broke off the smallest piece of meat, giving it a toss toward the dark one, luring it in. It caused the beast to stare for a moment at the dried meat before rushing it, grabbing it up in his jaws, swallowing it down.
"Alright, seems enough time has passed since you stole that fish so the dried meat is looking good, huh?" Good, that meant that he might be able to use the meat as bait to catch them more easily he thought to himself. This was sure to make the rest of this particular 'hunt' a whole lot easier on the Fortress.

Chalcedony looked over to the brightly colored pup that was sitting near to him, yawning widely, before he gave a bit of a smile, "You finally giving up, pup?" He asked, reaching into his pack so that he could get out a length of rope. Using it to fashion a makeshift harness he put it around the little beast before he tied the rope into place, giving a nod, "There we are. Was that so bad?" He asked, giving the brightly colored pup another piece of the dried meat before he turned his attention to the other pup.
As he did so he found himself wondering where the third sibling had gotten itself off to but felt that he would deal with that once he had dealt with the two pups before him. He'd been lucky enough to catch one of them but there was still the dark green one left to go. It wasn't that far ahead of him so it shouldn't be too hard... or at least he really hoped not. He felt that if things started to look up and the rest of this particular 'hunt' if it could even be called that, could be finished up soon then he'd be able to bring the pups back to Sol to find them some good homes.

The dark green pup was slowly but surely lured over toward where Chalcedony was standing as the Fortress was tossing the bits of meat in front of him. The creature would rush forward, gulping down a piece here and there, watching Chalcedony closely. It kept looking between Chalcedony and the food, finding the food to be far more important then the fact that he was standing there. Slowly but surely it was coming closer and closer to him, something that had him waiting for his chance to use the other end of the roll that he'd woven into a lasso, waiting for his chance.
Once the little beast had gotten close enough, its mouth stuffed with all the meat that it could pick up, he tossed the lasso forward and it fell around the creature's neck. It caused the two beasts to be tied together, keeping the dark one from running off because the brightly colored one had dozed off in a pile at Chalcedony's feet. After looking the pair over he rested his hands on his hips, looked around the area, and muttered, "Alright... I know that there is a third pup somewhere... now where are it...?" He had lost sight of it early on, meaning he really wasn't certain where it might have gotten itself off to. As such He started to look around the area, his eyes scanning for any sort of movement, looking for any sound, or anything else that might draw his attention.
It took a bit in the way of searching before he found the last pup, this one a deep orange in color and Chalcedony couldn't help but to stare, "What the..." Alright, here he was chasing after the brightly colored one, luring in the dark green one, and here was the deep orange one laying there in a curled up heap with yet another stolen fish. He wasn't sure where he'd gotten that from, likely stolen from the same poor man but at least it seemed to be occupied? He felt a little guilty for letting the pup steal yet another fish but he supposed after the pups were homed he could see about getting some food for the fisherman as an apology for the fish lost on his watch.
Getting some more rope from the pack another lasso was tied and it was put around the deep orange pup before he tied the two ropes together, "Alright... well that works." He murmured, looking the group of them over for a moment.
After making sure that his pack was over his shoulder and his shield was on his back he scooped up the two sleeping pups, moving toward Sol, the last one following because Chalcedony had its siblings... and more meat. While it didn't want to admit to any sort of defeat it wanted the dried meat that it knew Chalcedony still had on him. The little pup could smell it from where it was walking at the side of the big Fortress. All it had to do was keep walking and look for an opening to steal more of that tasty, tasty meat that the man had been sharing earlier with him.
