Barter and Haggle Prompt 2
Can be used toward Solo or RP req
Lately, the local market places have been filled with new traders offering their wares. It seem as if many across the land are trying their hand at selling clothing, weapons, and trinkets. With so many new faces, now is the best time to go to the market and barter for the best prices.
So go ahead and grab your goods or grab your gold and take a shot at bartering.
This prompt can be played from either side: your character can be the merchant, or can be looking to purchase an item. Groups can RP with both characters on the same side, or trying to barter with each other.

The gathering of merchants was something that Chal had heard about through word of mouth and he had heard there were a good number of them that had gathered. He was expecting that and yet somehow he still found himself in awe over the big group. He gave a bit of a smile as he started forward, his eyes scanning the area. There were a lot of people here, weren't there? Not only those that were selling things but those who were buying. It seemed as though word of this place had reached more then just Chalcedony meaning that finding the perfect gifts for his sons was going to be somewhat of a challenge since there were a lot of other people that were looking to buy things as well.
Well, here was to hoping that he would be able to find something for them that they would like he thought to himself wondering exactly what it was that he should be seeking out. As much as he felt bad thinking it he knew that Aysun was a lot easier to find something for since what he liked was really easy. He wouldn't be buying him any new pets, not if he didn't want to get on Keilana's bad side, but he could find him something else. Maybe gear to help him better take care of them? He'd consider books about such things but he knew that Aysun wasn't interested in such things. The only time he showed interest in books was when he stole them from Chandra. As such books on the subject would be a bit of a waste. No, he'd need something more hands on he thought to himself as he walked along, finally spotting a place that was selling the sort of thing that he was looking for.
Walking over to the merchant that was selling all manner of things for the beasts that Aysun so loved he started to inspect everything on the table. He didn't work with animals himself, having once had a spitorog pet, but that mostly taken care of by Isa. As that was the extent of his experience he turned his attention to the merchant and said, "I could use some help finding some of this gear for my son. He raises a lot of beasts and I really don't even know where to start." He explained, looking over everything there was to be had but realized he was at a loss.
The man at the booth gave a smile and said, "Not a problem! Just let me know what it is that he raises and I should be able to help." After Chalcedony was done listing off the mass of beasts that Aysun had the man starred at him for a long moment before he set to explaining everything that could be of use for each beast and why. In the end Chalcedony got the things that seemed as though they would be the most useful to Aysun without weighing him down too much before he moved on to find something for Chandra.
A lot of searching and weaving through the crowd later and he found himself at a merchant selling a bunch of books on various subjects. He knew that his older son was working on becoming a healer, which was a wonderful choice in careers, it meant taking care of others. He was learning from the best after all... even if it was a little odd in a way having his son learning magic from Takoda just due to things that had happened in the past. Not that he'd ever told the boys the details of it all. They might be able to infer a bit but it wasn't as though he'd share those sorts of woes with them. Shaking off the thoughts he found himself looking through each book, trying to find those that might be the most useful for Chandra and his chosen path, before giving a smile.
"I will take... these." He said, patting the stack of books he'd found. There were two on herbs, one from Jauhar and one from Tale, one on magical healing, and one something called acupuncture which the merchant explained was a healing technique from Oba. Nothing he'd ever heard of but if anyone could figure it out it would be Chandra. All the books, along with the things for Aysun, were all added to his pack and he was off once more. The added weight didn't slow him down at all, as though it was nothing when compared to the shield he carried at all times.
