Remembering the Past Prompt 3
Can be used toward Solo or RP req
It has been seven long years since the Great Oban Invasion. It almost feels like a dream, considering all of the changes that have occurred in Tendaji since the great war. A new King sits on the Oban throne, and he has opened the boundaries of Oba and Matori. Many already are taking advantage of the open boarders to travel and explore. The world was expanding and changing all things to the massive war of the great nations.
Since the war, Tendaji took a stand against the extremist Alkidikes and won. They came together to show a new alliance that many could never dream of. Everything was settling, and now that there finally was peace everyone has begun to to take a moment and remember all that has come and gone.
How have the major wars and changes impacted your character these past few years? Are they bitter for their failures or happy about their success? Do they see a peaceful future to come or are they concerned about those who may be still holding grudges?
[Characters not part or even alive during the war can still respond to this prompt. Maybe they have a different way of understanding the war compared to those who were part of it, so feel free to explore those feelings and thoughts in your response]

Chalcedony was on the move, the heavy weight of his shield on his back as he moved through the high branches of the trees of Jauhar. He was on his way to a trade bazaar that he heard was set up on the fly. Merchants were gathering, trading their wares, and he felt that he should go there, check up on things, and see if there was anything that he could get for his sons for instance. He knew that the two were very, very different, meaning they would want for very different gifts. The walk there gave him a lot of time to think, which had his mind swirling around the future... but also the past because of it. Things seemed to be quiet at the moment but he wondered if that meant that there was something coming and if so, what?
His mind went instantly to the zealots that had been banished, wondering for a moment if there was a chance that they could have escaped from the island they were sent to... but surely if that sort of thing happened they would know, right? There would have to be someone watching after them, right? To make sure that they weren't trying to escape from a banishment that was well deserved due to the fact that they had started a war over some birds... right? He could at least hope as much. His sons had already been dragged into a war as it was, forced to fight against the zealots, and he didn't want to see such a thing happen again. He wanted them to be able to grow up in a more peaceful war... or at least as peaceful as the world they lived in could be that was. There were still a lot of other things to worry about, such as the wild beasts, but other then that, he wanted them to be happy.
Giving a bit of a sigh he continued forward, giving a little shake of his head. His sons were growing up and they were strong, as one with Keilana's blood should be he thought to himself. The mother of his children was one of the strongest, and sometimes scariest, women that he knew. Knowing that her blood ran through their veins made him feel better about them wandering around the world on their own even knowing that there were dangerous people and things out there laying in wait. Surely they would be able to fight against such things if they were prepared? Something that had him wondering if he aught to see to training them more himself... though they might end up even stronger if he pulled in Keilana. The two of them training the boys would ensure that they were ready for anything... though at the same time then it might also seem as though the two of them were picking on their sons a little when all he really wanted was to make them strong.
He wondered how training Chandra would go though, he'd taken a path of magic after all, which wasn't something that Chalcedony didn't have any experience with. He'd heard that Chandra was learning back from Takoda which was a good thing, he was the best person to teach magic after all, but it wasn't as though chatting with him about the training was possible. Things were far to awkward between Takoda and himself making it rather impossible to just chat with him... not to mention that if he tried to go up to him for a chat that it likely wouldn't sit well with Jacinthus and he didn't feel like getting into another argument with him. Best that they did what they did best, avoiding each other unless a battle cropped up or they wanted to do some sparring to sharpen their skills. It was how they'd dealt with each other since they were much younger and it would be how they dealt with each other when they were old. It was just how things were done between the pair of them. It was what worked and caused less stress for the rest of those around them.
Giving a little sigh he shook off the thoughts, not wanting to think too hard about any of that right now. No, what he was thinking about were the past dangers that they had dealt with and how much he wanted to look after and train his sons so they would be ready for whatever lay ahead. Things were unlikely to stay peaceful forever and even if he found the repeated wars to be trying he wouldn't back down from a threat that might hurt his family.
Yet another thought that was shoved aside as he spotted the gathered merchants that he'd been looking for, heading toward them. He'd much rather focus for a time on presents and see about starting training for his sons after that... and after he could catch up with the pair of elusive boys.
