Your paws sting, your fur's got a mat, there's fleas itching at your back - he knows, he knows! And apathetic though he might have been about it if you were one of his own kind, he is here to help. Ever since he was a small child, you see, Sue has had a bond with cats bordering on magic. He seems to know what they're saying, and more than once he's disappeared between classes without any rational explanation, only to return and grudgingly explain that he had been "needed." When he was younger, of course, his parents and teachers didn't think much of this bizarre gift - and his peers were terrible, picking on not only him but any of his feline friends bold enough to approach the schoolyard - but when it became clear that the felines were returning his favor, when it really seemed like he might be conversing with them, things changed. (Mechanics Note: This ability allows Sue to converse and establish an empathy bond with regular cats. They can understand him when he speaks normally, but he can also speak in their "tongue" and understand them; their language does not translate itself to English just because he's there to hear it. Other creatures which can communicate with cats can also understand Sue, but do not have the same empathy bond. This does not include Guardian Cats, who cannot communicate with regular cats and are not affected by this empathy.) Virtues Nails in his Cereal -- Not once in his life has Sue ever been deemed a weakling. He's built like a trucker and has all the good manners of a wild boar, and if anyone even thinks about crossing him, they'll be two weeks out in the hospital and still spitting out tooth shards. As a protector, there's nobody better to ask for - but for an enemy, well.... Non-Aggressor -- There are lines. Other people might cross them, but Sue hasn't - yet. A big one is, he is never the one to start a needless confrontation. He might be the one to escalate it, sure - some skinny whiny kid bugs him too much, then some skinny whiny kid might end up stuffed in his locker - but for all else, Sue just doesn't want to deal with people enough to take the step up to being a school bully. If they leave him alone, he'll leave them alone - mutual intolerance, it might be called. Gentle Fingers -- it would be a stretch to call Sue's "healing hands", but there does seem to be something nearly mystical about them. If he takes it in his mind that someone needs comforting - usually feline, of course, but the rare human can get his attention - he's the sort to express his sympathy without words. He figures that has far more meaning, anyway. Who're You Calling Stupid, Stupid? -- Sue has ambitions, you know. He doesn't know exactly where they are - maybe he wants to be a vet, or one of those people who works at the zoo, or something - but he has them. And he's not the smartest guy around, maybe - he likes calculators for his multiplications, and depends on a spell checker for his essays - but he's a hard worker, determined to do well in school and get the grades he needs to wind up somewhere good in life. Because he does not speak much, though, and his attention has been known to wander in class, people have been likely to assume otherwise of him. Flaws A Boy Named Sue -- Well, his daddy left home when he was three and didn't leave much to his mom, but the meanest thing he ever did was before he left, he named his little boy Sue. Growing up with a name like that makes you tough and angry with the world. One of these days, Sue's gonna find that dad of his, and just you wait to see what happens ******** You, What's-Yer-Face -- Let's be clear, right from the start. Sue does not like you. Before you've even met him, he's already made his mind up about you. You're probably mean and closed-minded, snobby and selfish, or else a puking weakling. In any of these cases (and many, many more, to be sure), he is already disgusted enough with you that you make him want to hurl, so get on your way and let him alone, will ya? Bad Reputation -- Yeah. He knows. People don't like him. He doesn't like people, so it's all even - he'd prefer the company of his cat friends any day of the week. It does make things difficult sometimes, though.... Wheezy -- Sue's built big and tough, but that doesn't mean he's an athlete. He hits heavy and fast, but all that bulk means that he tires quickly. He can occasionally be persuaded to keep pushing after he's hit that limit, but it takes an extraordinary situation - otherwise, he is content to have thrown his weight around, and lets off once his steam runs out.

 PROFILE OF THE GUARDIAN CATName: Zue Breed: Maine Coon Patterning: Purple Smoke Rebirth Information:Unlike the other Zodiacs - and unlike the other Guardian Cats - Sue is not, at his core, Zue. While the Princess, Chronos, and the other Zodiacs were reborn into their old bodies during the Barren Pines fiasco, Zue instead found a boy destined for him - Sue Gottschalk - and was reborn through him. (This had the effect of changing Sue's eyes, which were a muddy green most of his life, to the light blue that they are now.) This means that Sue himself was born a human. He has a family; his mother, Kathleen, is not an illusion, but a true figure in his life. This will have a profound effect on his priorities (and availability) as a Guardian as time goes on. Both the identities of Sue and Zue are integrated (or at least in the process of integrating.) Sue and Zue have alike personalities, and there is only one true "consciousness" behind both identities - which means that, though we might be able to observe them as different beings in certain places in time, now that Sue has awakened, he and Zue are the same person. Like other characters with inherited souls, Sue's memory is that of his human life - pieces of his past life might come to him at times, but it is unclear if he will ever get a full picture of who Zue once was, or even learn what circumstances led Zue to choose to enter a human body instead of being reborn into his own. Past Life Information:Not much is known about Zue as he once was. It's known that he was difficult to get along with, often deliberately sabotaging relationships before they could bud. He was fiercely devoted to his Princess, seemingly at the expense of his own desires, dignities, and perhaps even duties. Sue has absolutely no real memory himself at this point - it's enough if he hears a term or a name that stirs up some connection within him. But what Sue has learned, through dreams or the words of others, is this: Zue is the soul of the Guardian Cat of the Zodiac Guard, a so-called "First Souler" the likes of Luna and Artemis who lived and served before this age of senshi rebirth on Earth. Prior to his connection with Chronos, he was the Guardian Cat of Prince Aeon, who would come to wed Queen Serenity of the Moon Kingdom. Although Zue also came to the Moon Kingdom at this time, it was clear that he was not cut out for palace life. He came into the service of a newborn Princess Chronos and retook his place among the Zodiac Guard.  After the end of the Silver Millenium, Zue was reborn on Earth like the other Guardian cats - feline body, chasing old memories and searching for his princess. He was successful in finding her, and most of the Zodiacs as well - only Pisces slipped under his radar. But a year ago, a trap set by the Negaverse General-King Charonite captured his Princess. Zue, with the rest of the Zodiac Guard (excluding the unawakened Pisces and the memory-wiped Scorpio), perished in the attempt to rescue her. Afterwards, Chronos was able to convince the Space Cauldron to give up their souls for rebirth, at a high cost - her Cavalier, Eon (who Sue was always highly critical of), was lost to the Cauldron forever. While the rest of the Zodiacs were reborn into bodies during the Barren Pines event, however, Zue instead found the already-living body of a boy named Sue, and was reborn through him instead. Abilities:Transformation -- Zue has three forms; human, cat, and a midway form between. In both human and cat form, he is "invisible" to the Negaverse (meaning: not leaking energy); in his midway form, he draws attention. Zodiac Tracking -- Zue is aware of the locations of Zodiac Guard members around him. Senshi Recognition -- Zue is capable of recognizing people who are senshi. This usually takes some concentration, especially for senshi that are not of the Zodiac Court. Henshin Pens -- Like other Guardian Cats, Zue is capable of creating henshin pens for unawakened senshi, and also upgrading senshi who are ready to go to the next level. However, for senshi who are not a part of the Zodiac Court, it is very difficult for him to perform these feats. Cat Whispering -- Yes, indeed, Zue is still the Cat Whisperer. When in his cat form, cats are less likely to follow his commands for hierarchal reasons, but he is still capable of communication.

LIVING SITUATION
Sue is currently making his home in the "Cozy Comfort" motel. It isn't really that cozy, unless you take that to mean small, and it has something of a vermin control issue. Everything seems constantly filthy, and when things break, they tend to stay broke for several days.

Kathleen got a two-year degree from the local community college and is a low-rung manager at a computer call center. ...CARING, IF AWKWARD, RELATIONSHIP Garner Gottschalk (NPC); Sue's deadbeat, estranged father. Sue only knows his face from a picture given to him by his mother, and in quiet times, he often mumbles to himself about what he'll do when he finds that man. ...UNHEALTHY RELATIONSHIP Jill Samuels (NPC); The older of Kathleen's two sisters. She married young, straight out of high school, to an auto mechanic. They had several good years early on, but things soured as her husband became unsatisfied with life. They divorced when he was arrested on drug charges; she now cares for their two children on her own. She works full-time as a concierge at a lavish hotel. ...TEASING RELATIONSHIP Farrah Hopkins (NPC); the younger of Kathleen's two sisters. Still, she never quite seems to have the courage to follow up on her feelings, which is why, nearing middle age, she's still single (if not a virgin - she refuses to answer the question.) This pin is made out of a piece of amber, and is a precious keepsake for Sue from his mother. It was given to him for his birthday just before he came to Barren Pines, and he makes a point of wearing it to remind him of home. He was lucky to have come out of Barren Pines with it, given that he didn't even manage to keep any of his clothes.
...Jewelery
Sue has several piercings - two on his left brow, one on his left ear. The ear piercing he had before leaving home, but the other two he's gained in the years intervening. There doesn't seem to be much reason that he got these, other than as a way to make sure he looks especially unapproachable to others.
